i just read on facebook that Scandal's new single is called Scandalous Sun and will be released on the 11th of july. haven't been able to confirm this elsewhere so i don't know how true it is.

Apparently Haruna and Rina will create a duo kind of like what Tomomi and Mami did with Dobon Dobon Do and their song should be featured in Limited Edition Type A.

i'm looking forward to getting the new single. it's great that you can still buy singles on CD in Japan, because you can't anymore in England. with so many people downloading songs the CD single is no more in England. i hate this because i would much prefer to have the CD, so good on you Japan for still having an active singles market. It does cost me a lot of money shipping CD's from Japan but it's worth it to me. i've so far brought all 4 of Scandal's albums, plus 6 Singles.

I don't pre-order yet. I wait to see if there is any release from other artists like Sachi Tainaka and Stereopony during this period. I usually order over 5000 yen for the point bonus from CDJapan.

That's where AKB48 and Morning Musume fall, don't you think? Those groups are selling themselves for cheap. I can see SCANDAL may do a calendar in the future, but not the stand-alone photobook. After all, for all the official albums, there are photo-book versions.

And in all honesty, I think only Rina and Tomomi have the idol-ish looks. Haruna and Mami are more of rockers. Rockers don't wear swimsuits very well.
