SEGA are releasing HD versions of Yakuza 1 & 2 exclusive to the PS3 in Dec

Also this is a pretty funny story, a parent is blaming Microsoft for his son spending £1150 worth of MS points The more I read this story, the more I laugh because you think of all the things that the father didn't do like

1)Not checking your Credit card statement for 6 months
2)Putting your credit card information on a console that will mostly be used by your kid
3)Ignoring the 'charge credit card' confirmation screen which list the value in pounds and part of the cred card number
4)Somehow failing to see the automatic emails sent by Microsoft anytime you do purchase MS points
5)Letting your 12 yr old kid play COD, an 18 rated game

Zero sympathy whatsoever. The dad and the kid should be ashamed.

Oh, so Haruka can become an idol? Looks and sounds fun. So glad I passed the zombie game.

I don't have anything against Horror Survival Games but when playing Fatal Frame 2 Wii Edition, my heart is racing non stop. And when someone sits beside me or is going in and out of the room (and on top of that passing before the TV), I'll get more nervous and can't focus on the game. ;w; Because my heart races more than it does already, if that happens. That happens always, when I'm playing it orz...
And to tell you this: I can't play longer than an hour, because my heart is racing so rapidly during gaming this game XD

Love you, my wonky-eyed Terashima Takuma! <3~ Supporting Terashima Takuma and G.Addict! :3

Didn't expect to get this much flak for saying that I don't like the direction the new Tomb Raider is going in another forum. I backed up my points quite a bit and basically said that the whole attempted rape and constant torture porn moments they're marketing is distasteful and nakedly apparent that the developer is deliberately trying to manipulate the player's emotions, outside of the player character, in these horrible situations and that there are better ways of portraying a likeable female character more than just pushing her to a physical and emotional breaking point. Apparently though, I'm wrong, it's a brave thing the developers are doing and all this marketing it apparently working if it's making me 'care' for Lara. I don't give a fuck about Lara Croft, I just disagree with the torture porn thing in general. This could be happening to Samus Aran, Nathan Drake or fucking Master Chief and I wouldn't like it. In fact they're not doing a good job marketing it at all, as it's dissuaded me from the game completley.

This looks really interesting though I doubt I'll be able to play it anytime soon. Plus it has Ellen Page and she's one of my celeb crushes.

It's been a bit of a slow burn at first, but The Witcher 2 now well and truly has it's claws sunk into me. Such a good game.

This interview for Spec Ops The Line with Walt Williams (the writer) was pretty cool.
It does talk about the ending, so don't read until you've finished the game.

They mainly chat about how the game flips a lot of basic shooter-game cliches, and noting a lot of subtle visual effects they added that players might've missed.

Listened to the Giant Bombcast last week where Jeff was talking about how he was there on the Gamespot podcast when the writer was talking about the game and he said the things the writer talked about in the game are crazy. Definately would like to play the game now cause the story sounds super interesting. But I don't think I'll pay full price for it.

Playable Juza!! I loved the first game and it definately helps if you're a fan of the manga like I am. Judging by the teaser, looks like Kaioh will be the next big bad boss. I can't comment as I haven't seen anything further than Raoh but it sounds like bullshit. "Oh you thought Raoh was the strongest guy on the planet, well what about his secret brother that nobody in the series, including Raoh, has ever mentioned until now even though they were aware of his existence." So yeh, I dunno. The thing I liked about Kens Rage was that each punch or kick you made looked like it hurt so I hope they can keep that but maybe speed up the combat just a little bit.

Heard about this game in 2 podcasts now. Japan takes the dating sim genre one step further with Hatoful Boyfriend. You play as a human girl attending a high school....for pigeons. You play through the game and decide which pigeon will be your boyfriend. No, I'm not joking.

^ I probably wouldn't be as freaked out if that had used illustrated pigeons rather than actual pictures of real ones.

Y'know, most things I can look at and, even if I don't entirely get them or like them, I can see how someone would.

Not so with the pigeon dating sim -- if it's playing it straight, that is. If it's supposed to be taking the piss out of dating sims, then I can kind of see where it's coming from.

In news that can only be best described as depressing, Irrational Games (Bioshock) are recruiting for a design manager, where one of the main requirements of the job is having previous experience working on a game that scored at least an 85 on Metacritic.. To put that into context, if you worked on Vanquish, Gravity Rush, Bulletstorm, Metro 2033, Catherine, Fallout New Vegas or Mirrors Edge, just to name a few, then sorry but you don't get the job. Good news for those that worked on Mass Effect 3 or Frisbee Forever 2 though.

C'mon guys, it can't just be Dai and me doing this...

It's that time to polish off your golf clubs in honour of a Fallen HiPster...hard to imagine it's been six years ago that we lost marimari aka Kyle Bouvier.

His selfless acts and being an extremely positive nice guy, doesn't even begin to describe what he meant to us. One of the greatest :jphip: has ever seen. Check out the Classic Threads Museum for a taste of his impact. Kyle had contributed so much to the Hello! Project fandom by sharing many materials at all the sites. He was a regular in the IRC and took part in online games like Pangya. When we learned that throughout his life, he was confined to a wheelchair due to muscular dystrophy, it made us respect him even more. To overcome those odds, to be with us HiPsters.

July 30th marks the day when we pour a little liquor for our homie ... we continue the tradition we started in 2008, we play the game marimari loved so much. Just good times hanging out, reducing our strokes (for once) and smacking around balls into the rough. The weekend closest to marimari memorial day is July 29th so LET'S TOURNEY.

The winner gets $100 in their name donated in honor of marimari's favorite charity - Make a Wish Foundation (http://wish.org)

Go to the Akihabara's PANGYA (aka Albatross18 aka Loligolf) thread for more information on how to play. Patch em up! http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=16264.0

Sharpen your skills!  Tee time is: Sunday. July 29, 2012 @ 10:00 EST

:tama-mad: I am so sick of fighting games right now, not of the games themselves, but just my inability to play them beyond my simple caveman like style, and any attempt to do anything technical, or even basic practising leads me to actually get WORSE.
Combos are just impossible for me, I can do simple chains where you just have to tap, but 1 frame links can kiss my ass. I have a higher chance of winning the lottery than pulling that shit off.

I just had a lovely fun time on VF5 being destroyed over and over by named players and total beginners button mashing alike, my rank is going nowhere and I'm probably going to rank up to 5th Dan on LOSSES.

MVC2 was ridiculous, everyone beat me, my loss records were over 1000 and my wins were low double digits. I couldn't do any combos no matter how hard I tried, and every cheap trick in the book worked on me, and I was just a punching bag when the combos started. I just stopped playing that in shame.

Tekken 6 was a similar story, I had about 250+ losses and 1 win, that's not even an exaggeration, I couldn't have any fun and people would message me all the time to laugh at me and tell me to change character. Which I did, really pissed off, then I lost even worse than before, yay. I had fun selling that game.

MVC3 was just a fucking joke, the giant loss record was bad enough, but I really was trying hard, even trying to do combos, but I couldn't beat anyone at all, I was the lowest rank, 2nd lowest rank, lowest rank, 2nd lowest rank over and over and over, after a month of playing, over and over, trying hard, nothing works, the characters I like aren't good enough, blah blah blah.
I was glad I got the pre-order comic, because I managed to sell the game on ebay for the same price I paid for it.

SF4 series I don't do badly at exactly, I'm better than a beginner, but I'm getting worse at it the more I play it, I get completely destroyed by fairly simple tactics, and my Honda is essential seeing as you can play him without doing many combos. The only 'advanced' thing I can do is charge move cancel into super, I can't even use Focus attacks, one of the most basic attacks, but any time I use them i just get hit in the face, I don't even know what they DO or what they're FOR, I'm that stupid and dense about these games.

SF4 is the reason I'm mad, yesterday right, for 4 hours, I tried everything, EVERYTHING to do one simple combo, just to practice it, try to get better, I watched youtube videos to copy the timing, I even downloaded the video and zoomed into the joystick of the guy and copied the timing exactly, all that shit? didn't work at all. I even listened to a metronome to try and cheat my way into it, NOPE I get 2 hits and 2 hits only. YAY
This is the combo: #21: [noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2_D8PNLzfc#t=1m41s[/noembed]

I just can't do this, or anything else smart. I don't know why!!! is it my age? is there something wrong with my brain? I don't get how everyone else can do this stuff so easy while I'm struggling at every turn.

Music games are another thing, I just can't cope with the speed or even play Guitar Hero on normal, I don't get why others can and I can't :( /rant over

^ do you use the regular controller? i know i  always have a hard time doing certain combos with the regular controllers - i've been putting off getting a proper fighting stick.
