First time dubbing for a movie! After experiencing in reality…

本作は、「ハリー・ポッター」を超え、130週連続売上げベストテンに君臨した「パーシー・ジャクソン」シリーズを原作に、ギリシャ神話の海神ポセイドンと人間の間に生まれた半神半人の少年パーシー・ジャクソンと仲間たちとの冒険を描いた映画『パーシー・ジャクソンとオリンポスの神々』の続編。この映画で実写映画の吹き替えに挑戦した渡辺さんに、実際のアフレコを体験した感想を直撃しました。
The movie this time is the sequel of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” (The Lightning Thief), which depicts the adventure of Percy Jackson, a young boy who is a demigod son of a human and the God of the Sea in Greek mythology – Poseidon, and his friends. Its original work, “Percy Jackson” series, has dominated the best 10 sales list for 130 consecutive weeks, overcame “Harry Potter”. We have asked Watanabe-san, who challenged herself to dub for this film, about her feelings after experiencing in dubbing in reality.
――初の実写版映画の吹き替え！このオファーをいただいた時の感想は？
――Your first film dubbing! What was your feeling when you received this offer?


実写のアフレコは初めてで、まさかハリウッド映画の吹き替えのお仕事をさせていただけるとは思っていませんでしたので、ひたすら驚きました！
It was my first time dubbing for a movie, and I have never thought that I could receive a dubbing work for a Hollywood movie, so I was really surprised!

――実写のアフレコはいかがでしたか？
――How was the film dubbing?


アニメなどと、実写のアフレコはやっぱり全然違いました。アニメの場合は、作品が出来上がっていない絵コンテなどの状態で声を入れることが多いので……。実写の場合は、すでに出来上がっている映像を見ながら、そして本人の声を聞きながら、声を入れていきます。なので、演じている方の口の動きとか、体の動きに合わせて吹き込んだりするのが難しかったです。
Dubbing for movie is totally different from dubbing for anime, after all. For anime, there are lots of times where I have to put my voice in a work that is yet to be finished… For movies, I have to put my voice in while watching the movie that has already been done and listening to the voice of the character. That is why I have to dub while being in harmony with the actor’s mouth or body movement, and it was hard.

――気を付けた部分は？
――Which part did you pay most of your attention to?


息遣いに気をつけました。例えば、息を吸う音を意識しながら台詞を言ったり、細かい息遣いにも気を付けなければいけなかったので、それがアニメと違って、すごく苦労しました。
I paid most of my attention to my breath. For example, I said the lines while being aware of my breathing sound. I also needed to be careful with my small breaths. That part is different from dubbing anime, and I had a hard time with that.

――アフレコ前にご自身で準備したことなどは？
――Did you prepare anything yourself before dubbing the movie?


前作のDVDを観たり、台本をいただいてからは、何度も読み、映像を確認しながら感情を作っていきました。
I watched the DVD of the previous film, and I after I received the script, I read it over for many times, and I created the emotion for my voice while checking the film.

演じたキャラクター・アナベスの印象は？
Your impression of Annabeth・the character you played?

今回渡辺さんが担当したのは、オリンポス12神の1人、アテナの娘でパーシーと共に冒険の旅に出るアナベス役。演じてみて感じたアナベスという少女の魅力と、実写映画でアナベス役を演じているアレクサンドラ・ダダリオさんの印象を伺いました。
This time Watanabe-san is in charge of the role Annabeth, daughter of Athena – 1 of the 12 Olympians, who goes on the journey alongside with Percy. We have asked her about the girl which she played, Annabeth’s charm, and her impression about Alexandra Daddario-san who portrayed Annabeth in the film.

――渡辺さんがアフレコしたアナベスは、どんな役柄ですか？
――What is the role of Annabeth, who Watanabe-san dubbed?


アナベスは、オリンポス12神のひとり・アテナの娘ですごくしっかりした女性です。頼もしくて、戦うシーンでもアクションシーン満載で女性から見ても、カッコいい女性です。
Annabeth is the daughter of Athena・one of the twelve Olympians, and is a strong girl. She is reliable, and even in battle scenes or scenes that are full of actions, from a girl’s view, she is a very cool girl.

――ご自身と共通する部分は？
――Are there any parts of hers that are common with you yourself?


あまり無いかもしれません（笑）。でも、危険に立ち向かう時も、自ら堂々と歩んでいく姿を見ていると、本当に頼もしくて、こういう女性になりたいなと思いましたし、憧れますね。なるべくアナベスに近づけられるように意識しながら演じました。
There are hardly any (laugh). But when I see her walk confidently even when confronting danger, I think she is very reliable, and that I want to become a girl like her. I admire her. I played the role while trying to be similar to Annabeth as much as possible.

――アナベス役のアレクサンドラ・ダダリオさんの印象は？
――Your impression of Alexandra Daddario-san who portrayed Annabeth?


すごく美人で、お人形さんのようでした。アフレコしている最中も、あまりの美しさに見とれてしまうくらい、本当にうっとりしてしまって（笑）。こんな素敵な方の声を演じさせていただけて、本当に光栄です！　会えるかわかりませんが、ぜひお会いしてみたいです。
She is so beautiful, just like a doll. I was really fascinated by her beauty that I kept admiring it while dubbing (laugh). It is really honor to be able to dub my voice for such a wonderful person! I do not know if I can, but I would like to meet her.

人気声優・宮野真守さん、ふなっしーと共演！
Co-starring with Miyano Mamoru-san・a famous voice-actor, and Funasshi!

日本語吹き替え版の主人公・パーシー役は、前作に引き続き声優の宮野真守さんが担当。そして、話題のゆるキャラ、ふなっしーが、ギリシャ神話の伝令の神・ヘルメスの力の象徴である枝に絡みつく蛇役で声優デビュー。こんなキャストに恵まれ、アフレコに挑戦した渡辺さんに、現場エピソードなどを語っていただきました。
In Japanese dub version, the main character・Percy is dubbed by Miyano Mamoru-san, following the previous film. And, the mascot character Funasshi, who has been a hot topic recently, will debut his voice acting work with the role of a snake twined around the staff which is the symbol of power of Hermes・the Messenger God in Greek mythology. We have had Watanabe-san, who challenged to dub with these cast members, talked about some episodes at the scene.

――声優の宮野真守さんや “ふなっしー”もアフレコで参加されていますが。
――Voice-actor Miyano Mamoru-san and “Funasshi” also participate in the dubbing


はい。でも、1人でアフレコだったので、宮野さんとはまだお会いできていなくて、ふなっしーには、偶然ですが会えました。
Yes. But I did the dubbing alone, so I have not met Miyano-san. But I met Funasshi, by chance.

――偶然……ですか？

――By chance…is it?


先日、じゃんけん大会も来てくれまして、軽くお話させてもらいました。その時、私は男装していたのですが、それを見たふなっしーが「カッコイイなっしーっ！」って（笑）。
He also came to the Janken Tournament the day before, and I talked with him a bit. At that time I was danso-ing, but Funasshi said “You’re so cool-nasshi!” after seeing me (laugh).

――アフレコをしていて、特に印象的だったシーンは？
――Which scene particularly impressed you while dubbing?


海での大きな渦巻きのシーンですね。これは終盤にアフレコしたのですが、かなり絶叫するシーンで、最後だったこともあり、心置きなく叫びました（笑）。
The scene where there is a big whirl in the ocean. I dubbed this scene last. Since this was the scene where I have to scream quite a lot, and also it was the last scene, so I screamed without reserve (laugh).

――大変だったシーンは？
――Which scene was difficult?


非日常的なシーンが多く、どれも大変でした（笑）。劇中に絶叫マシーンの様なタクシーが出てくるのですが、日常的にはなかなか無い状況ですよね。イメージしながらやりましたけど、声だけで怒ったり、苦しんだりという感情表現は難しかったです。
There are lots of extraordinary scenes, and all of them were difficult (laugh). During the film there was a taxi that is like a roller coaster appeared, but there are not any situations like that usually, right? I tried dubbing while imagining that scene, but it was hard to express the emotions like angry or suffering only by my voice.

――今回、実写版での初アフレコを果たしたわけですが、今後新たにチャレンジしてみたいことは？
――You have achieved your first dubbing for a movie this time. Do you have anything new you want to challenge in the future?


いろいろなお仕事をやらせていただいていますが、舞台はあまり経験がなく。ミュージカルなど、舞台のお仕事をやってみたいです。
I am being given many many works, but I do not really have any experience on the stage. I want to do works that are related to musical or stage.

――では、声ではなくハリウッド作品の出演オファー-が来たら？
――Well then, what if an offer, not to dub, but to appear on a Hollywood movie came?


えっ！　そんな夢の様なお話（笑）……。でも将来的には女優さんになりたいので、出演できるくらいまでになりたいですね。
Eh! That sounds like a dream (laugh)… But I want to become an actress in the future, so I want to be able to appear on it.

“まゆゆ”目線で見どころをPR！
PR-ing the highlights in “Mayuyu” view!

ギリシャ神話の〈海の神〉、ポセイドンと人間との間に生まれた〈半神（ハーフゴッド）〉の少年・パーシーが新たな危機に直面。仲間とともに、バミューダの魔の海へと乗り出す神話スペクタクル・アドベンチャー・ムービーの本作。今回から3Dも登場し、映像の迫力もよりスケールアップ。この作品で声優を担当した渡辺さんに、“まゆゆ”目線での見どころと、日本語吹き替え版のおすすめポイントを伺いました。
Percy・a demigod young boy who is the son of Poseidon・the God of Sea in Greek mythology and a human, will face a new danger. This is a spectacular adventure movie about him setting sail to the sea of monster in the myth – Bermuda, along with his friends. This time the 3D version is also out, and the movie’s captivation scales up than before as well. We have interviewed Watanabe-san, who is one of the voice actors for this movie, about the highlights in “Mayuyu” view and the recommended points in this Japanese dub version.

――1作目以上にスケールが大きく描かれた本作、実際にご覧になっていかがでしたか？
――How was this movie, which is scaled up a lot more than the 1st movie, after watching it?


私は、3Dで観たのですが、1人のお客さんとして楽しんでしまいました。今まで3D映画を観る機会はそれほど無かったので、「うわぁー飛んでくる！　ギャー！」という感じで、ハラハラドキドキしながら、純粋に楽しんでいました（笑）。
I watched the 3D version, but I enjoyed it as a sole viewer. I have not had much chances to watch 3D movies, so I was like “Uwaah~ It’s flying to here! Gyaah!”. While being very nervous and excited like that, I really enjoyed it (laugh).

――様々な登場キャラクターの中で気になったものは？
――Your favorite character?


ジョージとマーサという蛇が出てくのですが、ジョージの吹き替えをふなっしーが担当していまして。パーシー達の冒険にとって “手掛かり”というか、ヒントを与えるようなすごく重要な役ですので、気になりますね。
There were two snakes called George and Martha, and Funasshi is in charge of dubbing George’s voice. He is like the “key” for Percy and his friends’ adventure; he has a very important role in such that he gives out lots of hint, so I am interested in him.

――ふなっしーのアフレコはいかがでしたか？
――How was Funasshi’s dubbing?


すごく良かったです。上手でしたし、役にハマってました（笑）。
It was really good. He is good, and looks like he loves his role very much (laugh).

――では、本作のみどころをズバリ教えてください！
――Well then, please tell all your highlights of this movie right away!


アクションシーンや映像のスケール感などは十分に見応えがありますし、登場人物達の友情や絆などの人間模様にもぜひ注目してもらいたいです。今回は、主人公・パーシーの弟・タイソンというキャラクターも出てきて、その兄弟の絆も感動ものですので、観ていただきたいです
The action scenes and the movie’s scale are quite spectacular. I would also like everyone to check various friendships and bonds between the characters. This time, Tyson・brother of the main character – Percy, also appears, and I was touched by their brother bond, so I would want everyone to watch it.

――日本語吹き替え版の注目ポイントは？
――Your featured points in this Japanese dub version?


アクションシーンです！　アクションシーンのアフレコは、普段の私とはかなりかけ離れたことにも挑戦しているので、そこが見どころかもしれません。
Action scenes! When dubbing for action scenes, I challenged to be very different from my usual self, so those may be highlights.

――ファンの方に新たな“まゆゆ”がお披露目になるわけですね！
――This is like an unveil of a new “Mayuyu” to the fans, right?!


はい！　ワクワクしますね。いろんな自分を知っていただきたいなと思っています。今回、実写映画のアフレコをさせていただいたことによって、ファンの方には、こういう“渡辺麻友”もあるんだな、と気付いてもらえますし、私のことを知らない方にも知っていただける機会ではないかなと、すごく楽しみです。ぜひ、観てください！

The places she went here was Kashwere Japan,
which she loves the softness, she often used the word "Mofumofu" explaining the softness of the cute animals and stuffed animals.
The second store was Biokura style in Aoyama, a store by the graduated stars of Takarazuka. Which explains her excitement^^This store sells natural and healthy foods!

The third store with all the plates and silverware was Sarah Grace.
She said she started some cooking and that was the reason she got interested in these beautiful plates.
Here, she said she just made "Oyako don" which is the rice bowl with broiled chicken and egg.

Lastly, is the electronic store Lavi.
Mayu and her family wanted the humidifier air freshener all along she said^^

I am sorry for the brief explanation, and if there is more questions I will be happy to explain^^

Her with this apron is so cute and I can imagine how cute she can be cooking with this apron [inlove]
Although, she has only made 2 or 3 dishes lol

The character Anago-san Mayu drew is the character she often draws^^ and I am glad that they picked someone who knew this character to judge the 10th picture or I believe this woman was a fan of Mayu^^
Anyways from this Bonus challenge, drawing 10 Anago-san in 80 seconds, Mayu got another 20,000 yen to spend!!

This "Kaimono no Tatsujin" in Osama no Brunch is a corner where stars get to buy the items they want with certain amount of money but they get deducted by saying the NG word...5000 yen per 1 word...
and this time Mayu drew a word, "Soudesune" which she usually say a lot....and at the end,
she was deducted 15 times [cry]

But she seemed to have lots of fun from this corner^^
