Ayaka and Wakana Natori have been appointed
tourism ambassadors for the city of Matsuyama, the capital of
Ehime Prefecture (one of the four prefectures of Shikoku- the smallest
of the four main islands).
Matsuyama has a hilltop castle, the oldest hot spring in Japan,
and has many connections to the Japanese literary world-
* Soseki Natsume's novel 'Botchan' was written after his experiences in Matsuyama
* Shiki Masaoka, considered the "Father of Modern Haiku Poetry" was born in Matsuyama
* Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum, based on the novel by author Ryotaro Shiba, is Matsuyama
* Nobel Prize winner for Literature, Kenzaburo Oe, was born in Osemura (Now part of the Town of Uchiko), not far from Matsuyama, and attended high school in Matsuyama.
