i got this idea after watching a local supermarket cm this week, and i just decided to write this last min...like literally i finished this a few min ago ^^; so enjoy~!

Gakimama
“Hmm...how about this one!”
Emiko flipped the page in a cake cookbook and pointed to a picture of a strawberry pinwheel cake. She looked up to her mother and grinned when Risa gave her a smile of her own and nodded.
“Alright…let’s see…we need 2 large eggs…sugar, cake flour, baking powder, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and some powdered sugar.”
“Emiko’ll get the flour and veggie oil!”
The little bean hopped off of her mini stand near the counter and ran over to one of the low shelves in the near-by pantry to get the container of flour and later the bottle of vegetable oil while Risa got the other ingredients.
The two had planned to make the cake for Ai, who was currently out for a musical rehearsal. Ouji sat near the kitchen doorway watched the two in boredom as Risa began to oil the pan, and then turn on the oven. She then went to get the eggs, and cracked them into the mixing bowl to mix. After pouring in the other ingredients and mixing them together, the two beans carefully poured the mixture into the pan and put it in the oven to cook.
“Let’s make the strawberry filling now~!”
“Ok!”
“We need whipping cream…”
“Check!”
“Sugar?”
“Got it!”
“Lemon curd…”
“Eh? Lemons?? That can’t go in a cake!”
The little bean tilted her head in confusion as she moved the sugar over to mother. Looking up from the book to meet confusion in her daughter’s eyes, Risa laughed and gently poked Emiko’s nose with her flour covered hand.
“It’s alright, Mama will get it; Mii-chan can go get the strawberries.”
“Ok!”
Risa got the curd, and let Emiko pour the required amounts into the mixer while she chopped the strawberries, occasionally taking a few bites and giving some to the little bean as well. They sprinkled the strawberries into the mixture. While they waited for the cake to finish, Risa began to clean up the bowls and utensils and put them away, until she felt a sudden pain in her stomach.
“Ah!! The baby’s kicking!”
“Eh?? Really?? Uso!”
The little bean looked over from the table she was trying to set for the three of them later and quickly ran over, reaching out her hand to feel. Risa directed her small hands to the side of her stomach where Emiko felt the slight movement. Emiko gasped and looked up to her mother.
“Emiko can feel it!”
“I know~!”
Risa smiled at her when the baby’s movements stopped. The little bean continued roaming her hands while the older bean placed the filling and sauces next to them. Emiko gave a small frown when she couldn’t feel anything anymore.
“Do you think the baby can hear me?”
“Hmm Mama thinks so~ when Mii-chan was always squirming in there I’d sing or just talk to you when Papa wasn’t around…”
“Really? Did it work?”
“Sometimes it did, and sometimes it didn’t…but that’s when I knew Mii-chan was just like Papa since she acts the same way sometimes too…”
The ding from the timer interrupted their little talk and Risa went over to the oven and took out the cake, rolled it tightly, and placed it on the rack to cool while Emiko went on to finish setting up the table. She leaned over the counter and watched her daughter as they continued their conversation.
“One thing would always work though…”
“What was it?”
“Mama used to tell you secrets~!”
“Really?? What kind? Like how you’re secretly a princess??”
“Eh? A princess? Who told you that?”
“Papa! She told Emiko one time that Mama was a princess!”
Finished setting the table, Emiko ran over to her and hopped back on the stand while she gently unrolled the cake. They then started to spread the jam onto it while
Risa giggled to herself and tried to remember.
“Well I don’t know what kind of things Papa tells you but, I would tell you how many people couldn’t wait to see you…or about any surprises I was planning for Papa when her birthday was coming up…”
Emiko gave her mother a cute pout.
“Mou~ Mama, those aren’t secrets~!”
Risa gave a matching pout of her own.
“And why not?”
“Because~!”
Sighing and giving into her childish side, Risa looked at her daughter and gave her a serious look.
“Alright…I did tell you one special secret…”
“What was it??”
“I told you how Papa rescued me from an evil witch!”
“Eh~?!”
The bean nodded as she finished putting on the last bit of jam and began to reroll the cake.
“Does Mii-chan wanna tell her a secret?”
“What would Emiko say?”
“Mii-chan could say something about yourself…”
“Hmm…Maybe…”
Emiko got the strawberry syrup nearby and began to squeeze it onto a plate to present the cake on. Has she tried her best to squeeze out hearts and flowers, Risa watched her.
“How about you tell her how great of a dancer you are?”
“Mama, the syrup won’t come out!”
She took the bottle and opened the cap to realize that the seal on it wasn’t even broken yet. Pealing it off and twisting the cap back on, she gave it back to Emiko and helped her make the hearts and flowers. She then went and got some sprinkles and poured some out into the small bowl. Getting the knife, she carefully cut into the cake and they both sighed in relief when a perfect red swirl was visible.
“It’s perfect Mama!”
“Un!”
Risa carefully placed the cake on the plate and carefully poured the powdered sugar on top of it while Emiko sprinkled some sprinkles after.
“How about Mii-chan tells her how she’ll be the greatest big sister ever?”
Emiko looked up to the older bean who was giving the cake its finishing touches and gave her a soft grin, when the little bean suddenly jumped off the stand and placed herself right in front of the beans slightly large stomach and the counter. The little girl brought her hands up and gently touched her stomach.
“Imoutou-chan is really going to love Mama…”
The older bean looked down at her with wide eyes and then smiled when she felt her daughter rest her head and wrap her small arms around her stomach. Emiko gave a soft smile of her own and looked up to Risa. The sweet atmosphere was suddenly broken when the sound of a lock and door turning was heard and Ouji suddenly jumped up and ran to it, with Emiko right after.
“Papa you’re home~!”
