actully someone did cover avril's song but it wasent hiki ... i cant rember who covered it cept it was a female artist i will have to look on my other pc where i have the song and look at which artist it is.

Well, you can always express your opinion o_O Just don't go into flaming and stuff. Maybe you've listened to all the wrong songs or something.

Imho, when Hikki started she was nothing special with her typical R'n'B music but apparently she was one of the first mainstream female artists of that genre in Japan so she was like fresh breeze and her debut album sold like hotcakes... I like her latter stuff a lot more, even Exodus was good despite the flop in USA.

It depends which songs you've heard. If you're just going by the stuff she's released since mid-2004 then I can't believe how popular she is either. Go and listen to some of the earlier stuff. I'd recommend something like her 2nd album ("Distance") would be a good starter.
