Yeah, well. Here you must be 16 (at least, to buy) and I see kids smoking at 12. Aibons is a celebrity and celebrities should be kinda untouchable (ala US) and not humiliated. Like if she wants to have sex in a public park, the press shouldn't care. Look at Russell Crowe or Winona Rider. Worse things but their careers still the same. They did worse things! And Gwen Steffani ripped a song by Tommy F, or that's what it's said. I mean, if they take down W only because Aibon smokes... it will suck a big time. And no, don't think that Nono could go solo. Time to do a revolution in Japan, and H!P has to start it !! Muahahahaha~~

Underage smoking seems like a pretty minor deal honestly. UFA is better just saying "No comment" and letting it blow over.

Also, if it's anything like Canada, underage smoking isn't illegal per se, it's selling or giving cigarettes to children under 18.

Yeah, smoking doesn't seem like that big a deal.

So what'll they do? They can't really suspend her for smoking, that's ridiculous!
If they should do it, though ... I dunno ... that would be really low!

Ex-Morning Musume member Ai Kago was suspended indefinitely late Thursday night after her talent agency confirmed a scandal sheet had caught her smoking while underage.

Friday, a weekly photo journal that specializes in paparazzi shots of celebrities, caught 18-year-old Kago puffing away at a restaurant in Tokyo's trendy Ebisu district on Jan. 28, a spokesman for her talent agency said.

Friday's coverage of the event will hit the stands on Feb. 10.

Talent agency officials said that they are continuing to discuss Kago's career path with the teenager and her parents. Since leaving Morning Musume, Kago has joined "W," another all-girl group.

Minors in Japan are banned from smoking. The legal age of adulthood is 20 and smoking before then is outlawed.

In April last year, another Morning Musume celebrity, Mari Yaguchi, quit the popular group after a weekly photo magazine showed her on a date with an actor.

I'm pretty sure that W's new single will be delayed since the tv-appearances are usually filmed in advance. I doubt Kago is allowed to work during her suspension.
