... with daemon tools (lite) mounting and latest media player classic home cinema playing worked fine out of the box (on win7)

You also need a fast processor that can deal with the 40000kbps bit rate used for the m2ts files.

If anyone is mad enough to try it on WinXP, you will need to install a driver for version 2.50 of the UDF file system.

Hey guys! I need your wisdom and help :D

My pc stopped working 2 days ago. I shut it down, then the next morning when I tried to turn it back on, it just hangs at the start-up screen. Actually it gets to "detecting ide drives"  and stops. I unplugged everything from it, replugged in. That didn't work. Then checked to see if the ram was in securely, tightened it, and no luck... So I am at a loss! So if you guys could help me I'd be really grateful! ^^

Never mind! My brother told me how to fix it.

I ended up getting something called TotalMedia Theater and a virtual drive mounter.  So far, so goodie.

I'm having so many PC problems..

80% of the time, windows won't even start up, and if it does I get a blue screen within minutes  :panic:

I tried the 'system recovery points' but it says there aren't any. wtf! I tried updating windows but I keep getting a wide variety of errors.

What to do.......... I back-up all my files, so I was thinking to set everything back to basic/re-install windows like how it came from the store, but it didn't come with any sort of boot-disc... How can I do this? Surely, it must be possible to restore everything somehow...

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium, if that matters...

  • If you have service pack 1 installed you can try
http://www.istartedsomething.com/20070929/vista-sp1-recovery-disc/ to get a recovery disk. You won't be able to reinstall vista with it though (I think)...
  • If you want to reinstall and don't want to buy a copy of vista you might be able to extract your current product key (if you don't have it) using some 3rd party tools and then download vista legal/illegal (don't know if they provide a download... I know they do for office in some cases but guess it doesn't work for vista) and reuse your key.
  • I would however first try to figure out why the blue screens appear (write down some affected files / the error code) and google for it trying to find a solution. You could also check the event logs for hints
Actually I would also try to get win7 but I guess that's not really an option there (slightly expensive~)

I'm looking for the best offline GPS apps possible, that's one without the use of Internet.  I have both a iPod Touch 4 and a Android 2.1 SE Xperia x10.
P.S. keep in mind that I will be using this in USA, specifically Anaheim and Los Angeles, California.  But if it works for off-trail, that's a bonus, too.

So here is the problem, my old Dell 370 Workstation mobo crap out on me.  I got a replacement, but the CPU fan always running on MAX.  My friend and I checked everything and there seem to be no physical issue.  it's mainly a program/software problem.  since it's a replacement out of the box, there were no CD in the box.  I'm guessing that's what I'm missing.  i need the drivers or learn how to download the correct settings for it.  Can anyone help me here, or point me towards the right direction?

CPU fan speed is BIOS controlled, so it's HARDWARE problem.

Need your guys' help!

So basically, whenever I go on fanfiction.net it redirects me to some weird site. It's happened before, but I can't remember how it was fixed. I'm close to 99% certain it's not a virus because a. it's only affecting this one website and b. I run symantec anti-virus, and nothing (both now and when it's happened before) comes up on scans.

Please help!

^ can you try pinging the address and post what the ip is? For example when I ping it I get

Pinging fanfiction.net [208.94.146.81] with 32 bytes of data:
(it will time out cause they must block the packets but that's fine)

If the number is different from that one above then that could be the problem and I can try help you fix it.
To ping, just go to command prompt (windowskey+r then type cmd and hit ok) and type ping fanfiction.net and press enter
If the ip is the same as what I got then you could have something nasty. If you want, run malwarebytes, I don't think symantec will pick up a lot of stuff that it should.

I got
Pinging fanfiction.net [208.94.146.71] with 32 bytes of data

I've also been wondering if I should use an additional malware/spyware scan in addition to Symantec; can malwarebytes run simultaneously with Symantec? The reason being is that my university requires that we use/run symantec, if we want to use their internet.

It fixed itself?

the last number is now 70 when I ping it, but there's no redirect now. It's happened to my sister and I know it happens to other users SPECIFICALLY of this one website; it's never happened to me on another site. Weird.

GOTTA PROBLEM!

I have a NETGEAR WNDA3100v2 Wireless-N Dual Band Adapter that works really well with Windows XP, never had a problem.
I just built a new PC and is using the adapter on the new pc, OS Windows 7.  now they are connection problems all the time, intermittenly.  Sometimes when I just turn on the computer, and when the PC is idle, then it shuts off.  It doesn't automatically reconnect, then I'll try to disconnect the adapter and reconnect into the USB port.  sometime it works, sometime it doesn't.
been searching the problem, it seems NETGEAR really sucks with it's driver for Windows 7.  I dunno what to do with that.

PROBLEM #2:
So with that in mind, I decided that I want wired(ethernet) instead of wireless.   Now I have a Cable modem which connects to a Wireless Router with 4 ethernet port.  I used a very long ethernet cable to route it into my room, currently connected to PS3.
Is there a way for me to use that one ethernet cable in my room to connect both my PC and PS3 without messing with the speed?  I'm thinking something like a switch or hub I heard of, but I'd dunno much about it.  How does it work?

PROBLEM #2:
....

Yes, it is possible to use that one cable and setup connection for multiple devices. This can be achieved either by hub or switch as you mentioned but as hubs which are basically just physically sharing the cable are getting outdated I would rather recommend a switch with at least 3 ports, shouldnt cost more than 10$-20$ + 2 cables unless you already have them.
Overall the task should be pretty easy, just connect the cable from router to the switch and plug in 2 cables to it for both devices (ps3 & pc).
However, you said you had a router with 4 ports so perhaps you could get another "very long" cable instead?

Is there a program out there that automatically:

1) rips audio from DVD, and

2) converts to mp3 and divides tracks with the same markers?

Or even an EASY-to-use mp3 splicer.  I was able to rip the audio to MP3 but manually splicing tracks which are the same as those on the DVD is a PAIN!  Any suggestions?

Thanks.  I actually did get that program but it didn't really fit my needs.  Maybe I'll give it another shot.
