Richard Park ain't the only Asian in the NHL now!

Speaking of Asians in the NHL, I wonder what happened to Chison "Jimmy" Paek?  For some reason I just remembered he's like, the only Asian hockey player to have ever played on a Stanley Cup winning team (Pittsburgh during their dominance in the early 90's).

But I digress.  I say good for Fukufuji-san on signing the deal (even if it's just an entry-level contract).  The guy obviously must have some potential, otherwise he wouldn't have been drafted in the first place!!!  I must say though, ignorant people are gonna have major "fun" butchering his name, if you hadn't noticed.

And how about Teemu Selanne going back to the Ducks?  This proves to be a reunion of sorts, as his former teammate from Winnipeg, Randy Carlyle is now their head coach.  Time for me to get a new Ducks jersey!

Hossa for Heatley That's quite the deal...I saw Atlanta got the good end on this one.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=ap-thrashers-senatorstrade&prov=ap&type=lgns

Heatley was kinda good as a defensive guy in the last world cup, but he's dropped off. A change of scenery would be good though!

Funny while I was in Calgary, I was looking for a road jersey for the Calgary Hitmen, but all I could find was a XXL home jersey, which would have been HUGE on me.  Oh, and DID see a Crosby Pens jersey already with his trademark #87, but its was $200!  I'd rather get an Oceanic jersey!

Oh, and looks like I'll be craving a Scott Stevens jersey and a Vinnie Damphousse jersey now too.

Oh, and I genuinely think that Dan Heatly will shine in Ottawa - he just needs a fresh start.

$200???        That's just retarded!!!  Then again, I'm el-cheapo, so I would say that anything over $50 for a jersey is nuts.

Fuck! You shoulda got ur gear in E-town KT...at least $187 emroidered and all. and you can't get a jersey for less than 50, unless it's a pure sweater from Zellers

Shit...all the retirements are pouring in. Macinnis yesterday. Hope Mark Messier does the right thing and SIGN WITH THE OIL!!  :D

...but check that. According to Sportscenter, he'll announce his retirement Monday.

Yeah, I guess I should have looked harder while in WEM that day.  Oh well.

Hey, you know what else I had trouble finding?  Alberta Centenniel clothes!  I saw a girl in Banff with a black hoodie with the Alberta 2005 logo on it, and I totally wanted one!  But none of the souvenier shops had them, or anywhere in Calgary either!  What's up with that?

Glad to see Ryan Smyth is staying with the Oilers.

And after almost a quarter of a century, Ron Francis is calling it a career. Like I said for the Moose, enjoy the rest man, you've earned it.

How's everyone feeling about the pre-season action so far?? I am laughing my ass off at how guys like Marty Turco can't squeeze the 5 hole like they used to. And Georges Laraque was driving towards the net and kept drawing interference penalties (THREE!!). I have yet to actually see a game but off the radio, they sure are calling more penalties. and the closer net set up some wild rebounds.

I like the experimentation that Dallas had: no goal judges replaced by lights but they didn't turn on lol. 30 seconds in between each player in the shoot out and they can take off their helmet for TV exposure.

FUCK THE STARS!!

Gretzky made his debut tonite AND HE LOST!! Probably the Crosby-Lemieux debut will be on TV  tmr.

I'll say it again, SO FUCKIN GOOD TO HAVE HOCKEY BACK!! Somehow, watching 8 year olds crashing and slipping ain't the same thing.

Edit ur fantasy teams, Dan Blackburn retires:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AnraeHotRL.QF36T.Qh9OAZ7vLYF?slug=ap-rangers-blackburnretires&prov=ap&type=lgns

Damn..22 year old. First Richter, now Blackburn...cursed?

What's ur take on whether rookies should take the head off veteran players a la Jeremy Roenick during exhibition? They be looking for a roster spot but to go headhunting?? hmm...

Quote
Roenick continued to express frustration toward Phoenix defenseman Denis Gauthier, who leveled Roenick with a clean shoulder check. Roenick said the big hit was "total shit" in an exhibition game and that he had eased up on Gauthier in a similar situation last week.

AND WOOT! NHL TV is free till Oct. 31st

I wonder if he's any good to have an ice hockey related job in the future... Like goalie coaching or something. He might be too young for that though...

NHL IS BACK!!! GAME ON BITCHES!!

Such an incredible feeling. I'm jacked up about the whole season. LMFAO @ Dale Purinton and his eye gauging. Only 10 games really questions Colin Campbell's moves. Dude was a repeat offender and just gets a slap on the wrist. and the CBC strike is magically over! Bring on Don Cherry and Ron Mclean! Jim Hughson is fuckin awesome too. loved his sarcasm in NHL 2001.

Fuck yes. Went to the Opening Nite game on Wed.

And the Oilers CRUSHED the Avs 4-3 with crunching hits by Pronger, Moreau, Smith, and of course Georges Laraque. WE gonna go all the way to THE FUCKIN STANLEY CUP!!

Meanwhile, Calgary gets raped 6-3 by Minnie! HA! SI SUCKS!!

Got free mini Stanley Cups and bandanas, caseloads of Coke Zero. Couple of frozen fuckers pretended to greet us. Funniest thing of the nite, was "randomly" searched upon entry. Talk about profiling!!

From beginning to end, the whole nite was a blast. Singing the national anthem at the top of my lungs along with all 17,000 other proud Oiler fans. Going bananas everytime Georges Laraque and other grinders touched the puck. So I got my coat drenched with beer. My throat is sore. Will I do it again?? HELL YEAH!!

NICE. Manitoba Moose pick up Mike Keane. Once again in the Canucks organization.
