Although Yuma-chan may be an Evangelion fan, Shou at least did an Asuka (and Rei) cosplay and sung the opening theme on one of the older Muscat episodes. Still, I think Yuma could sing the opening theme quite well and maybe she'd look great in the plugsuit.

It's hard to tell with gravure girls. Nanako Kodama's seem to fluctuate wildly in size from picture to picture, but I think the difference is down to clothing, angle, shadow, photoshop & other photographer tricks.

Also I'm gonna go on a limb here and say that Rio's are probably fake too. Sola's as well. Bummer, but they look good to me so, I don't mind. More so if I had any of them in my hands

I looked at some old photos of Minori and she looks different now than when she first started. I dunno if it's just the make-up or maybe her facial appearance changed fairly quickly over the years.

Pretty sure Sola's are fake, but I don't think Rio's are. She has very small breasts as is which means that she would have started with a completely flat chest. To make fakes look natural you need actual breast tissue to hide the implants, so they'd be very obvious in her case if they were fake.

Yes, I've also noticed that to some extent with Sola and Yuma. There's a mix of weight loss, aging, and differences in makeup... if they actually went through with some sort of facial cosmetic surgery, it's very subtle (unlike Yuria).

I ain't gonna lie, but the end result is so close. I won't spoil who wins though...because the ending is too good for me to just say out loud

And for obvious reasons I felt a little bad for Saemi. I think she choked on the powder or whatever...sorta sucks to see that.

But I found out something a few days ago and that is that the Ebisu Muscats are not the only "sexy idol group". There's another one, called OFA☆21. This isn't really new news because this group has been out and about since last year, but the reason I am talking about them is because one of my fave girls is in that group, Shizuku Hasegawa. I said it before and I'll say it again, but I would like to see this lady in a Muscats uniform. She could form a great tangent with NidoRina, Saemi, Sho, Rin, and the Purukawa gig. But she seems pretty committed to OFA☆21, so...yeah....

If she somehow convinces ex-Muscat Uruha Mizuki to join the OFA☆21 girls, this is going to make an interesting rivalry in my opinion.
And if she somehow pulls Saemi and NidoRina away from the Muscats, they are going to be more stellar than the 'Cats in my book.
But that seems a little bleak. NidoRina ain't leaving anytime soon, and Saemi, well, her close friends are mostly 'Cats so I guess she'll stay for as long as they do.

Why?
Because Saemi is awesome.

Speaking of which, y'all never really mentioned if she (or NidoRina) has real or fake breasts. What do y'all think?

If Rina or any of the other JAV members of the Muscats are looking to switch to OFA☆21 then they're gonna have to cancel their current contracts with their porn studios. See, in JAV, actresses can either have a fixed contract with a studio or be a freelancer. An actress with a contract will mean they work solely for that porn studio, which means a steady income, and the girls are obliged to release one vid each month. A freelancer can work with many studios and can have as many movie releases a month as they can allow. The Muscat ladies are all contracted with the likes of porn studios like S1, MOODYZ, Ideapocket etc who are all under the large JAV conglomerate Hokuto Corporation. If they are no longer in contract with them by retiring from the JAV game or move to another studio outside of that conglomerate, then their time with the Muscats is also finished. See Risa Kasumi for the example of that.

Looks like OFA☆21 is the other, lesser porn studio's answer to the Muscats with the freelance AV actresses. Why would the girls want to leave the Muscats though? The group is on a high at the minute, with airtime on TV and their music on the charts. Switching to OFA☆21 is a big ask, they have to cancel their contracts, hope they're popular enough that other studios would want them to continue filming AV's on a per film basis, for lesser money, and all to be in a sexy idol group that's not as popular or successful. I do like Cocomi Naruse though.

Anyway, back on track, Aino is a fast runner! She may know it herself as here she is doing Usain Bolt's pose. Or is it Usain Kishi?

OFA 21 has a long way to go before they can match what the Muscats are doing. Sure the Muscats are older (some of them are in their late-20s pushing 30) but they've been in it for a few years and they're going as strong as any other idol group out there. Besides, the Muscats are comprised of both AV stars and gravure idols (working in great harmony) where as OFA 21 seems to be mainly AV stars (correct me if I'm wrong) in their early 20s. I read a little about them on Tokyohive and although they said they weren't out to be like AKB48 (they're more like an "anti-AKB48"), they look pretty much like those AKB parody pornos without the sex. Do I smell a giant Kawaii Koushien battle between the Muscats and OFA 21 in the future?

there's also Kokomi Sakura (ex first-gen muscat) new idol-unit 'me-me'. I know Kokomi and Shiori Kamisaki are AV but I haven't checked the other two members. I only wish Kokomi had stayed in EM.

Something tells me that 'me-me' won't make a whole lot of noise as a new idol-unit. Remember Aino and Jess's sub group? I'm not saying it's not successful but...well, I can't even find any of their songs to play

The point TeriyakiBoi said about the Muscats is one of the biggest problems I have regarding some of the veteran members (I am talking about Acky, Sora, Yuria and anyone else near 30). Simply put, when your youngest member is 20, you might need youth in your J-Pop club or else. I view the Ebisu Muscats as an NBA team mind you. And when an NBA team has a lot of players past their primes, well, the team's never that successful. There are a few exceptions but at the end of the day they get outshined by some of the younger, fresher teams. Just ask the San Antonio Spurs what happened in the last playoffs, when they got outhustled by Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder. When I look at the Muscats at times, some of the women are a little past their primes. Yeah they are still famous in their own right (specifically speaking about Acky), but you have to realize that when Acky reaches 30 in March, is she really going to continue with J-Pop? If she does, more power to her, but if she doesn't, then it's understandable. No one's career, no matter how much of a superstar you are, lasts forever. Just ask Kobe Bryant.

And about contracts, what Tuffty mentioned, it sorta sucks to see that. It makes sense why girls like Uruha Mizuki resigned so quickly, being that she isn't even in that famous of an AV studio (Kawaii Kawaii). But do some of the women have to be in contract with the big name AV companies just to get a spot on the Muscats? It bothers me a little bit...and I have never heard of Hokuto Corporation until now. It's a bit scary what happens with these AV companies and the Muscats when you really think about it

Why the Muscats have to be treated like a business rather than a family I have no idea...

Let's also hope that there's a future episode where the Muscats (with Rin hopefully) and OFA21 square off in a Kawaii Koushien sometime sooner than later. Money on the Muscats when that happens. But don't sleep on what Shizuku Hasegawa might do if she gets called at bat.

The last thing I want is for Saemi to go to the AV industry. I've read her blog, and I know this for a fact: she is not a mentally tough kid. There's a certain amount of mental toughness you have to have if you want to be successful in this industry, considering the fact that, well, there's scrutiny you face if you ever want to appear in the adult video industry. Just look at Rina; I read an interview about what she had to endure when she was growing up (dealing with middle aged perverts on the train and all), so I'm guessing that toughened her up for the AV industry. If Saemi has second thoughts every now and then about what she has done in life (and she goes off on this through the likes of Twitter and Ameblo), the last thing she'd want is to join an industry that will question her thoughts even more.

She seems like the last person who would be happy if she moved to AV. Yeah she will probably make a lot more money than just gravure, but I don't want to see this girl go through mental breakdowns worse than what I already saw on Twitter.

Why must there be flaws beneath her smile man...

Dude, I read this article yesterday morning. makes me think many Japanese females may have exercised the idea of going AV as a jump-start or a career-boost.
Ogura, she's 'old' to start in AV. she won't have much time to use that as a career re-boost, but Saemi?
I hope she won't. she's just too cute. I can't imagine her (yes, I can, but I don't want to, maybe I do) in a scene with two random dudes or bound to a hotel-chair with toys layed out in front of her (nasty, where am I going with this?). Rina? Groping and nasty middle-age guys on buses and trains are a regular in JPN. Saemi have seen them, Rina has seen them, all the Muscats dealt with them in their lives.

I hate the idea of Muscats without Acky, Yuria, Sola, and the other grandmas (I use that term with lots of love)...they are who keep me watching their show and hearing their music. But I may give Acky one more year, half-year til she finally graduates from the group. Then...who knows what's next for her, Yuria and the other old-hags (again, I use it with lots of love).

Yep. At least the ones under this Hokuto Corporation (which just sounds like a typically evil company name when you say it out loud

). For one, how can they bring girls into the Muscats when they're not contracted with them and secondly why even give their rival companies some publicity?

That sucks to hear about Saemi, I didn't think she had emotional baggage like that. But it sounds like she has a level of self-awareness that will prevent her from going into AV for the wrong reasons. Besides, look who she's with. A ton of AV actresses hanging around her everyday, at the same age level and older who can give her advice should she need it. I'm sure she'll be fine.
