Asami really shed her "Baka" label with where she ranked.  Let's not forget she was one of the three "Baka-sensei" along with Saemi and Yuria (I think).  I remember AiLi being terrible at math(s) but didn't think her other scores were that low either.  Maybe I'll take a look at some of the top Muscats' wikis to see if I can find out what made them that smart.  In fact, I wonder if any of them have gone past high school.

Still, her "baka" label is still there (remember, until their disbandment, their site still stated her monicker, "3rd Level National Fool")...but, despite of that fact, she has gone from her "Great Teacher Baka" status ever since DX (I guess...or is it Onedari..?)...and yep, She is along with Yuria...and AiLi....as the GTBs before the "Number 1 Baka" test.

The only video I've been able to find that has any of the baka No.1 test.

This is SP episode 19. It ends just before they announce the winner.

After the test, Kaho was pretty nasty about things.

She kept saying how 'cunning' the Osaka girls (Yamanaka and Kodama) were.

Kaho seems to be suggesting they cheated.

She also keeps saying how stupid other people are.

TeriyakiBoi, Yamanaka said she went to university...don't know about Ogura and Yamaguchi.

I checked Yamanaka's Wikipedia entry; it says she went to Kobe College (a small, private, liberal arts college).

I couldn't find anything about Ogura or Yamaguchi having done tertiary study.

I suppose, all-in-all, the Muscats did pretty well on the test.

If we say that 250 was a pass mark, then a majority of Muscats passed.

More than a third scored over 300; and only 5 scored less than 200.

Only poor Saemi came out of it looking like a complete bubble-head.

That's if you don't count Nagasaku's inability to do basic multiplication ("2x8=18"  XD).

The more I look at her through the years (from long black hair to brown and now short hair), the more she grows on me.

TeriyakiBoi, I know just what you mean.

She has great hair, beautiful eyes, and a heart-melting smile.

On the show, she sometimes came across as just quirky...

But that photo proves she could give those Muscats who think of as being the 'beautiful ones' (e.g. Yuma, Acky, Rio, Rina) a run for their money.

How about this photo for a caption competition?

ANDO: At the party, Kasumi Kaho was in this position...OK...then she clenched her muscles really tight...and a ping-pong ball shot across the room. Sora laughed so hard gin and tonic came out of her nose!"

I gotta say, Sora's score is a lot better than I would have predicted. She's a smart cookie, that one.
Sora actually attended junior college and studied child care before she debuted in AV, so she is actually one of the few in Muscats to attend post-secondary education.

Here's a surpising thing...the Muscat with the best score on the English section (85 points) was Rina Rukawa  :O
It could be that Rina's written English is a lot better than her spoken English.
Has anybody heard Rina speak English? I'm kind of curious now about how well Rina can speak English.
I recall her saying that she passed some kind of English proficiency test before, just don't know which test and at what level. Although I have never heard her speak English before, I would imagine her written English to be a lot better than her spoken English. I find learning to speak a new language is the most difficult part unless you actually live in that particular country and practice it all the time, reading and writing can be self taught a lot easier. Personally, I was able to pass JLPT N2 exam and is studying for N1, but I can only manage short and simple conversation.

The only ones that I know of that went beyond high school were Yamanaka, Sora and Rio. Rio studied some commerce at an university, but she never finished her degree.
According to her book, Yuma actually had good grades up until she graduated from junior high school. Once she started high school, she started working part time and dating, that is when her grades fell off and she ended up dropping out of high school after one year because she thought it was a waste of time. The only subject she was interested in was English. She was actually making 300,000 yen a month by working at multiple part time jobs, which is more than a new university grad makes on their first job.
I would imagine the rest of the girls all went as far as high school.

Wow! I'm struggling with N4. It's those kanji, man! They're killing me...they're frickin' killing me.  :bleed eyes:

Yeah, when I was teaching in Japan I had students whose technical knowledge of English (grammar, intonation, etc.) was amazing - better than a lot a native speakers - but could barely manage "Hello...How's the weather?" They just never get a chance to practice spoken English. If you ever read this Rina, I'm available for Skype lessons...FREE!  8)

If Ogura didn't go to University, it just makes her score all the more amazing.

Ando: Why are you looking at me like that?  I'm a gravure idol!

I think I remember Haruka debuting at the age of 18 (I saw a YT clip showing her debut age and 3 sizes) so if she had any post-secondary education, it was probably just a little.  Then again, if they learned enough in their teenage years and retained that information, they could definitely do well on a test like this (whether it was out on a whim or even if there was prep time beforehand).  In any case, it was nice to hear about some of them who attempted further studies.

EDIT: After satisfying my curiosity about their education, it seems Ayako was the only one to go all the way through university (she graduated in March 2011 after 5 years).  Aoi-san and Nanako dropped out of college to pursue their careers full time.

Sad news: maverick16868, the YT uploader of some Onegai, Onedari, and Choito episodes, were taken down by YT due to copyright. :'(

Damn, this is not good. It seems that watching Ebimasu episodes gets more difficult.

Sometimes, I find an interesting screen cap from a particular episode, then I go searching for that episode, only to find it isn’t available anymore. The ‘No.1 baka’ episodes are a good example. All I could find was SP #19. I can't find SP #20, although I’m fairly sure it used to be on YT. Maverick16868 had part of SP #23 (Sora etc. doing the test); but that’s gone now.

I keep hoping that some Japanese otaku has recorded all 260 episodes. And someday he will upload them all on YT.

His second account, maverick16869, is still alive...although he only had Choito EPs...good thing there are some YT channels that has Muscat episodes...I need to find that Musical Festival episode....THE HARD WAY.

I remember my post here about our ladies and Gundams. Well, I imagined that what if the Muscats would become Mobile Suit pilots. I imagined Sola as Amuro Ray, and since she had a rivalry with KONAN, I think she (KONAN) might be Char Aznable. Aika Ando should either be Domon Kasshu (G Gundam) or Sekai Kamiki (Gundam Build Fighters TRY). Yuma Asami might be Kamille Bidan of Zeta and Aino Kishi will be Judau Ashta of Double Zeta. Rina Rukawa should be Elpeo Ple since she had that loli feel. Sho Nishino can be Kira Yamato of SEED. *urgh* can't imagine the others...hahahahahahah....

For now, here is Sho/Aira cosplaying as Lacus Clyne of Gundam SEED

EDIT: Something hit my mind. Hatsune Minori should be Yzak Joule of Gundam SEED (Yep, her hot-headedness..), Yuria Satomi will be Dearka Elsman or Andrew Waldfield from SEED. Nanako Kodama can be Tiera Erde of Gundam 00...Rio can be....HEERO YUY of Gundam Wing...

That's pretty amazing to find that kind of rare continuity in a dynamic group like that.  Out of the 20 members that were on the debut episode, 9 of them stayed the entire 5 years.  I consider those the real OG Muscats.  Even after the first year, some of the "2nd Gen" members still stayed the entire 4 years to make up at least half of the roster we knew about for a long time.  Overall, quite an accomplishment for those 2008-2009 members to commit themselves to this 5-year "project".
