But for now, here is a SUPER long chapter that may answer some questions, and leave some behind

Chapter 60 Risa climbed out of the black convertible and skittered towards the edge of the boardwalk. She placed her hands on the railing and stuck out her head as far as she could, and inhaled the salty air.
“Uwa~ Ii na!” The bean exclaimed. “It feels so nice!”
Over the outlook, she could see the sand continue on until the dark sea engulfed the rest of the land. The sun was about to set in the horizon. The cold, October wind was blowing furiously against her face, taking her hair aback with them. Risa felt a sudden warmth around her body.
“You’ll catch a cold like that,” Ai said in a gentle tone. “The temperature is even lower around the beach.”
Risa examined the blue material around her shoulders. She raised an eyebrow at her girlfriend.
“You carry a blanket around handy?” the younger girl asked, smiling.
“I always keep one in the car,” Ai answered. “If we work overnight, I like to have one so I can catch short naps on the studio couch or something.”
“I see…” the bean mumbled. She pulled the blanket closer to herself. She could smell a little bit of Ai’s scent. She smiled.
“So,” the leader started, “what’s the important thing you needed to do?”
“… I want to tell you more about myself,” Risa answered, looking out towards the horizon. “I realized that even though we’re going out now, we know so little about each other. I want to take this time to fess up a couple things, like my past and stuff.”
“I don’t think the past really matters,” Ai said in a low voice. “All that matters is that we’re here together now.”
“It’s nothing bad, I promise,” Risa laughed softly. “It’s just… I want you to know the important moments in my life. I want you to understand me better, and vice versa. Will you listen?”
“As long as you want me to.”
“Thanks,” Risa said. “I guess… I’ll start with a shocking secret of mine.”
The younger girl straightened her back and faced her girlfriend. Ai waited for her to speak again.
“I didn’t always want to be a song writer,” Risa confessed. “The truth is… my original dream was to be a singer.”
“…That was a little sudden, but not too surprising,” Ai said calmly. “You definitely have musical talent.”
“Maybe I do,” Risa laughed. “But… I gave up on this dream myself. And that’s something completely unforgiveable on my account.”
“You can tell me about it.”
“… I had a friend,” Risa smiled. “I met her when I was ten years old, and she was twelve. Eri, Sayu, and I already knew each other since birth. Out of the three, I was the only one who held the dreams to become an idol.
“Then one day, a girl moved into our apartment complex. Her name was also Ai, like you, but her family name was Mizuhara. She moved into the next building with her mother; apparently, her parents were divorced.
“We met each other at the neighborhood playground. I was singing ‘Furusato’ by Morning Musume for Eri and Sayu… and Mizuhara Ai joined in. We sang together, and we realized we both shared the same dreams. We became best friends; I started calling her ‘Ai-chan’…”
“Is that why you call me just Ai?” the leader asked.
“Yeah…” Risa answered. “I feel like the term ‘Ai-chan’ is reserved just for her, you know? Anyway, Ai-chan moved around a lot, because her mother’s job required her to do so. I was scared that she would move away without warning, so I always visited her house to make sure there was no packing going on.
“We promised we would be idols together. We promised that even if we were separated, we would always meet on stage together. Singing was our connection.”
Risa paused for a moment. Her gentle smile became an expression of misery. Ai waited patiently.
“It was my fault,” Risa whispered. “I had heard about some neighborhood gossip, about how her mother was going through hard times because she was irresponsible to marry so young. While we were playing together, with Eri and Sayu, I told Ai-chan about the gossip. She got really mad. She told me not to go around spreading rumors when I didn’t know anything.
Risa paused again, biting down on her lips in an effort not to cry. Ai took a hold of her girlfriend’s hand.
“I won’t go too much into details,” Risa choked out. “But… that was the last time I saw her. When I decided that I should make up with her, she was already gone. The place was empty, and the neighbors told me that she moved away that morning. Her mother had found another job to do in a different city…
“I ran out, trying to catch a bus, a taxi, anything. But I was only ten years old; I ended up crying and collapsing. I woke up in a hospital. They told my parents that I had slight amnesia from trauma. It normally wouldn’t affect anybody, but I was young and weak. Even now, Ai-chan’s face is a blur to me…
“But Ai-chan was such a precious friend; I decided that I would keep our promise and become an idol. I worked hard for it. When I was in middle school, there was a local talent show. I got up on that stage to sing ‘Furusato’… and nothing came out. Typical stage fright… I couldn’t sing in front of too many people.
“I cried so much after realizing I didn’t have what it takes to perform. I wrote out my feelings that night…”
“Shouganai Yume Oibito,” Ai realized.
“Yes,” Risa confirmed. “Hopeless Dream Chaser… it’s a type of guilt that I’ll have to burden forever.”
“You were only ten years old,” Ai argued. “It’s a child’s promise; you shouldn’t let it get to you like that.”
“That’s where you’re wrong,” Risa contradicted. “We were only kids but we both took that dream very seriously. Ai-chan was very talented; I’m sure she’s working hard to reach her goal… But I broke my promise.”
The younger girl sniffed and smiled. She looked up at her girlfriend, whose face was scrunched up in a pained expression.
“That’s my story,” Risa said brightly. “It’s nothing you need to be too bothered by; I just wanted you to know, that’s all.”
“Risa— ”
“Besides, I’m glad I’m a song writer now. Or else, I might not have met you.”
Ai looked at her smiling girlfriend for a while, then sighed. She pulled Risa towards herself into a hug.
“I’m sure your friend doesn’t want you to feel guilty over this either,” Ai whispered. “How do you know she hasn’t given up either?”
“It doesn’t matter, whether she gave up or not,” Risa replied. “It doesn’t justify my promise-breaking.”
Ai pulled away a little and gave Risa a light knock on the head with her fist.
“You’re too nice for your own good,” she laughed.
“I’m not sure if ‘nice’ is the right word,” Risa grinned. She sighed contently. “I’m glad you’re here with me, Ai.”
“I’m glad I’m here too,” Ai answered.
She craned her neck and kissed her girlfriend’s forehead. When she met eyes with the younger girl again, Ai realized her cheeks blushing pink. The leader slowly leaned in on impulse. When Risa made no effort to move away, Ai took the initiative and kissed her lips.
Her lips moved carefully against Risa’s in an effort not to frighten her. After a while, Ai backed away so that only their foreheads were touching.
“I think that was better than our first kiss,” the older girl whispered. “I didn’t leave such a good memory then, huh?”
“You didn’t,” Risa mumbled, recalling the incident at the amusement park. “But now, it’s a good memory in its own way.”
“Nee… Can I… kiss you again?” Ai asked carefully.
“I was hoping you would ask,” Risa giggled.
The leader smiled, as she connected her lips with her girlfriend’s again. This time, she moved a little faster, her arms winding around Risa’s waist. She licked the younger girl’s lips a little, wondering if an entrance was possible. When Risa parted her mouth in welcome, Ai carefully inserted her tongue explored her mouth. A moan escaped from Risa’s throat as she started to move her own tongue, eager for more. But shortly after, Risa turned away, gasping for air.
“Breathe,” she huffed. “Need… more… oxygen…”
“Are you okay?” Ai asked, worried. “You should never forget to breathe while you kiss…”
“It’s kind of hard to do that while you’re the one kissing me!” Risa argued, blushing.
“Oh, I see,” Ai laughed. “I’ll give you another chance then. Don’t forget to breathe this time.”
“I’ll try,” Risa grinned.
As the two girls started to lock their lips again, the sun hid itself behind the dark sea.

So I'm starting to realize this fanfic is getting WAY longer than I expected... Maybe we're about half through now?
I'm trying my best to keep you guys hooked... might be hard though
