So, something has been bugging me lately and I thought I'd ask for your opinions.

Yuko's last single, DO MY BEST, doesn't seem to be ranking high in most people's books. Why is that?

In on my part really love the song, it's probably one of my favorite of her songs simply because it's so happy and slightly 60ish.

I think its one of her better Songs, too. Her singing sounds so Happy and cheerfull and so is the Song overall. I really like her Voice in this one.

Do My Best ranks dead last among her songs in my book for one. I've never thought about why exactly it is offensive to my sense of aesthetics, but let's see if I can't put my finger on it.

First of all, the melody is much too repetitive. It goes on but goes nowhere. Second, I don't feel it works with the lyrics. While the very positiveness of the song that you like already works against my opinion thereof, I believe the aesthetic could work with a more subdued, or even just a better structured melody. As it is, the whole thing is too overpowering, hitting you over the head with how wonderful life is and not stopping. And I mean that in a bad way.

Ultimately, I suppose I find it lacking in the maturity I prefer from songs in general and Nakazawa's in particular.

Or the short version: I don't like the music or the lyrics.

I hope I was able to shed some light on my perception of the song at least.

I listened to this song for the first time just some days ago and I think it was ok, liked it. I mean, much crappier songs have came out from H!P... can't really understand why it sold so bad...

Assume everyone here has seen Yuuchan's "Futarigurashi" performance from "Folk Days"? It might be the best live H!P moment I've ever seen. Haunting and honest.

I'll rip it from my DVD one of these days...

This performance of Futarigurashi (i hope its the one you meant) may, no, it IS the best performance ive seen from the H!P and not just this, its one of the Best ever.

Its just beautiful.
Futarigurashi is my favorite yuu-chan Song.
