So I'm back with a LONG chapter
I didn't even plan for this chapter to be so long though... I feel like it's so cut up and kinda all over the place because I wrote it little by litter... so sorry if it sounds choppy!

Chapter 56 “Gochisousama!”
Reina clapped her hands together and thanked her girlfriend for the meal. Eri smiled as she stood up with her empty plate and placed it in the sink.
After a long day at school, the couple had reunited in front of the kitten’s school to hang out. It was only two days away from the promised date where Reina’s father was to come up to Tokyo to visit. Hour by hour, the ex-yankii was visibly becoming insecure and nervous enough to a state where Eri needed to constantly remind her that she was going to be right there with her.
But Reina needed more than just words; so just like the past night, Eri was invited to sleep over once more. But this time, the turtle had suggested that Reina get out of her own home for a while and stay over at her apartment tonight. The kitten had claimed that she didn’t care where she was as long as Eri was with her; thus a compromise was reached.
As the time passed by in the turtle’s home, Reina seemed to calm down more. Her tensed up muscles loosened up again as her tightly pursed lights relaxed into the natural toothy grin that Eri loved. The dinner that had started silently slowly became louder as silence was overcome with chatting and laughter.
“So how did you like dinner?” Eri asked, returning to the table to clean up.
“It was delicious!” Reina grinned as she gathered the used utensils to help the turtle out. “Especially the tamagoyaki; it was slightly sweet but not too much. Really perfect!”
“… Actually, that was the one dish I didn’t make tonight,” Eri chuckled. “The tamagoyaki is from Risa. She made it for me to eat.”
Reina’s hand froze in place as her fist tightened around the chopsticks. Eri didn’t notice this as she continued to walk back and forth between the counter to the table, putting away both empty dishes and left over food. The kitten pursed her lips tightly into a straight line.
“… Risa?” she said, trying to force a smile. “That’s your childhood friend, right?”
“Yeah, Niigaki Risa, I’ve told you about her before, right?” Eri answered, preoccupied with cleaning the table.
“Yeah… maybe once… or twice…” Reina muttered.
“Actually, I have to return this case to her…” Eri said, holding up a plastic container in which the tamagoyaki was in before. “Maybe I’ll quickly run down and give it back.”
“I want to go too!” Reina said quickly, dropping the chopsticks on the table and skittering over to her girlfriend. “Take me with you.”
“You don’t have to come, it’s only a floor below,” Eri shrugged.
“But I’m you’re girlfriend, right?” Reina pouted. “It’s only natural that I get to meet your friend, right? I want to know everything about you.”
“… You’re right, I do kind of want you to meet Risa-chan. Maybe we should hang out at her place for a while,” Eri grinned. “We’ve been together since forever; she’s close like family.”
“… yeah… like family…” Reina muttered under her breath before putting on a pleasant smile. “Then let’s go! You should introduce me to her formally.”
The kitten linked her arms together with her girlfriends and dragged her to the door, trying to show some eagerness. But deep inside, she knew she was just being possessive. This was the exact position she wanted to be in when that Risa girl opened her front door: Eri was hers and hers only.
“Woah, hold on, let me lock the door,” Eri said, tripping on her own feet as she stumbled out the door.
She quickly turned around and turned the key in the lock before Reina was on the run again down the stairs. Eri wondered why Reina was in such a rush but she didn’t pay too much attention to it. In fact, she was kind of glad that her girlfriend was more upbeat now, since she had been in a state of nervous panic for the past few days because of the news of her father’s visit.
“It’s here,” Eri said, pulling Reina towards the opposite side of the door the kitten was headed to.
“Whoops,” Reina said, revealing her toothy grin.
Eri chuckled at her lover’s cute expression as she rang the doorbell. A moment of silence followed before the turtle pressed the button again. Then, there was a loud thump followed by a yell of pain from a familiar voice.
“W-who is it?” a difference voice asked.
“Risa-chan, it’s me,” Eri yelled in.
“K-Kame?” the bean shrilled. “Uh… what, what is it?”
“I came to return the tamagoyaki container,” Eri answered, raising an eyebrow. It wasn’t like Risa to address the turtle’s reason for visiting before even opening the door. “And I have someone to introduce… can I come in?” Reina snuggled in even closer to the turtle, holding her arm tightly.
“Uh… yeah, sure! Okay, okay, just… uh… hold on!” Risa answered quickly. There was even more fumbling inside the apartment, as the thumping continued. Reina’s eyes widened as she looked up at Eri, who had a similarly confused expression. It sounded like something hitting the floor but Eri couldn’t quite grasp what it was.
Suddenly, the front door burst open to reveal the bean, quickly arranging her disorganized hair. She was wearing a blouse that would’ve looked better tucked into the jeans with the belt, but it was left ruffled up. She smiled, trying to catch a breath as though she had been exercising, and casually waved at her friend without much success.
“Hi,” Risa said breathily, trying to pose naturally.
“Hi?” Eri said back, cocking her head to the side. “Um… here’s your container.”
“You didn’t have to bring it, I could’ve just gotten it back later,” Risa laughed nervously, taking the plastic container from Eri’s hands.
“Well, I also wanted to introduce Reina to you,” Eri said, nodding to the petit girl attached to her side. “Tanaka Reina, Niigaki Risa. Niigaki Risa, Tanaka Reina.”
“Hajimemashite, Tanaka Reina desu,” the ex-yankii smiled, offering a handshake.
“Doumo, Niigaki Risa desu,” the bean greeted back, taking the hand. As she smiled at the turtle’s girlfriend, Risa felt the hold around her hand tighten more and more until her muscles started to ache a little. But before she could fully express her pain, the kitten let go with a smile.
“Eri has told me all about you,” the girl continued, her eyes scrutinizing the bean although her lips were definitely curled up in a pleasant smile. “I believe we’ve met before too, right? By the stairs right here?”
“Ah… um, yeah, I think so…” Risa laughed hesitantly, slightly freaked out by Reina’s behavior.
What’s with this girl…? “Now that you two have met,” Eri started, “can we come in, Risa-chan? We were going to hang around for a while—”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea!” Risa said quickly, shaking her head rapidly. “You see… there’s a… um… a—”
The sound of sneezing from inside the apartment interrupted Risa’s words. Reina raised an eyebrow as Eri craned her neck forward in an attempt to see who it was. The bean stretched her arms across the door as her eyes widened.
“Is there someone inside?” Eri asked.
“There’s no one, what are you talking about?” Risa huffed, laughing shakily.
“Someone just sneezed,” Reina said flatly.
“That was me!” Risa suggested.
“No, it wasn’t,” Reina disagreed.
“Who’s in there?” Eri asked again. “If you have a guest—”
“She doesn’t have a guest,” someone said, stepping into the view. “At least, she won’t have one soon because I’m about to leave.”
The woman placed her hand on Risa’s head to ruffle up her hair a bit. Eri’s eyes widened as Reina just blinked a couple times.
“Takahashi-sensei?!” the turtle gasped.
“Sensei, I told you to just stay hidden!” Risa moaned.
“Why is there a teacher in your apartment?” Reina asked, confused.
“Come in, Kamei-san,” Ai smiled. “I was just about to leave because someone didn’t keep her promise.”
“What’s going on?” Eri asked.
“You know you liked it too…” Risa muttered.
“Are you Kamei-san’s friend?” Ai asked Reina.
“Her
girlfriend,” Reina said proudly, not afraid to state this fact now.
“Ah, ii ne,” the teacher smiled.
“Excuse me, can I get some answers?” Eri asked again, starting to get frustrated.
“You can ask Gaki-san, I’m leaving,” Ai winked.
“No, you’re not!” Risa argued, pulling her lover’s arm back. “You promised you would stay!”
“But you broke another promise of ours,” Ai frowned.
“You were going to stay overnight at Risa-chan’s house?!” Eri shrieked.
“No, I wasn’t, I would never do that as a responsible teacher,” Ai scoffed, rolling her eyes.
“Oh yeah, the great Takahashi Ai-sensei would never…” Risa muttered. “Just… stay longer!”
“Wait, did you say, ‘Takahashi Ai’?” Reina asked, her eyes growing bigger as she stared at the teacher. “Could you be…
the Takahashi Ai-san?”
“
The Takahashi Ai-san?” Eri asked.
“The yankii leader who held Fukui in the palm of her hands!” Reina yelled. “That… is that you?”
“That was a long time ago…” Ai smiled a little, scratching her head.
“It
is you!” Reina exclaimed. She took a step back, letting go of Eri’s arm, and quickly bowed in a 90 degree angle. “I-I’ve heard so much about you, Takahashi-san! I admire you so much— I was in charge of one of the Fukuoka gangs!”
“Sensei, you were that bad?” Risa asked, raising an eyebrow. “Enough for yankiis in other prefectures to know you?”
“Are you kidding? Takahashi-san is a legend!” Reina shouted in awe. “You know, once, she beat up—”
“Okay, let’s leave that kind of past behind, shall we?” Ai interrupted, laughing nervously.
“I thought you left your yankii life behind,” Eri said to her girlfriend.
“I did,” Reina shrugged. “But I still admire Takahashi-san. Everyone does.”
“Can we get back on topic?” Risa yelled, shaking her head to get rid of the confusion. “Sensei, you come in.”
“No, I’m leaving,” Ai argued.
“Can we come in?” Eri asked.
“I have to call Junjun, she’s gonna freak out when I tell her I met Takahashi-san,” Reina grinned.
“Could we please leave my yankii life behind?” Ai sighed. “At this point, I’m just Kamei-san and Gaki-san’s teacher.”
“But you’re also my girlfriend, so stay!” Risa argued.
“Can your best friend say?” Eri asked again, practically growling now.
“You’re going out with your teacher?” Reina asked the bean.
“Gaki-san, I’ll text you later, okay?” Ai sighed.
“What is this, ‘Ignore Eri Day’?” The turtle yelled, frustrated. “You know what? That’s it, everybody in!”
As all four women started to talk over each other, fighting for their own point of views, Eri managed to push everyone inside Risa’s home. Then, she forcefully closed the front door and turned the lock.

“So… Sensei was just here to visit since Risa’s mom is coming home late tonight…” Eri said slowly. “But then Risa-chan broke a promise—which you’re not telling me about—so Sensei was going to leave…”
“So Gaki-san—can I call you that?—Gaki-san is going out with Takahashi-san who is a yankii-turned teacher…?” Reina slowly calculated. “That’s pretty manga-esque, but I’m cool with it.”
The two couples were now sitting on the floor around a low coffee table. Ai and Risa were sitting one side facing the younger girl across the table, questioning them.
“I didn’t know Kamei-san’s girlfriend was an ex-yankii,” Ai shrugged.
“I didn’t know Sensei was the type to be dishonest to yourself,” Risa muttered.
“Hey, that’s not—”
“Woah, okay, stop!” Eri interrupted, cutting off the massive word jumble that was about to start up again. “You two are going to figure that out amongst yourselves later, because Reina and I don’t know anything about what you’re talking about. So please push the couple fight back?”
“We’re not having a fight—”
“Yes, we’ll push it back,” Ai answered clamping one of her hands over her girlfriend’s mouth. “Look, Gaki-san, I’ll stay for now but we’re definitely talking about this later, alright?”
“… Mm-hm…” the bean answered, rolling her eyes.
“Good,” the teacher smiled. “Now why don’t we continue with what were were supposed to do before we…strayed off? Since you have more guests and all.”
“What were you doing?” Eri asked.
“We were going to make fruit salad,” Risa said, standing up. “Just the usual simple kind.”
“Ah! I love Risa-chan’s fruit salads!” Eri exclaimed, jumping up to her feet.
“I know you do,” Risa grinned. “But if you want some, you have to work for it.”
“Ugh, sometimes, I feel like you know me too well,” Eri groaned. “I have working but you know I’m going to help if it means I can eat your food…”
“Of course I know,” Risa said smugly. “We’ve been together too long to not know. Kamei Eri, I can read you like a book.”
“Like a book, huh…?” Reina grumbled under her breath.
“Okay, everyone into the kitchen,” Ai ordered.
The four women piled out of the living room one by one towards the small cooking corner of the apartment. Eri and Risa started to look for the tools since they knew their way around the kitchen better while Ai and Reina went through the fridge to dig out whatever fruit they could find. Reina took out a carton of strawberries but as she tried to close the fridge door with her elbow, the carton slipped out of her hand.
“Woah, watch out!” Ai yelled, catching the carton just in time.
“A-arigatou gozaimasu!” Reina thanked, taking the strawberries back.
“That was dangerous, it could’ve fallen on your foot,” Ai said. “Be careful, alright?”
“Hai!” the kitten answered, smiling with a slight blush in her cheeks. Her aspiration was standing right in front of her, so close… it was like meeting a celebrity in a dream.
Aren’t they a little too close right now? Eri thought to herself, watching her girlfriend and her teacher from the corner of her eye. She couldn’t help but feel annoyed by the fact that Reina seemed all happy because of Ai, and not in her nervous panic mode. Eri had somewhat taken pride in that she was the only one that could pull Reina out of that unstable state…
“Bring the fruits over, Sensei,” Risa urged, waving her girlfriend over to the sink. “You too, Tanaka-san… ah, is it okay if I call you Tanakacchi? I like the sound of that better.”
“Um, sure,” Reina said awkwardly. “That’s something new…”
“Kameha, you wash the strawberries and the bluberries,” Risa ordered. “I’ll wash the raspberries and the grapes.”
“Hand them over to the right when you’re done,” Ai continued, taking her place with Reina by the cutting boards. “We’ll slice them and put them in the bowl.
With that, Risa and Eri went to work immediately, busily washing the fruits. Risa was finished with the raspberries first, which the teacher and the kitten dumped in the bowl altogether. Eri finisd with the blueberries next which followed the same fate as the raspberries. When Risa handed over the grapes, Ai and Reina plucked out each one and put it in the big salad bowl.
“Hey, Eri, watch where you’re splashing!” Risa complained, holding up her arms. “Stop waving the strawberries around like that!”
“Oh, that wasn’t even a splash though, Risa-chan,” Eri smirked. “
This is a splash!”
The turtle threw a handful water towards her friend’s face, causing the bean to turn around and scream from the cold water. She exhaled sharply as she grinned and splashed some water back at Eri.
“Take this!” Risa yelled, making Eri turn away this time, laughing.
“Hey, that was way more water than I splashed!” Eri laughed.
“Deal with it,” Risa said, sticking her tongue out.
“Are you done with the strawberries yet?!” Reina asked, not bothering to hide her annoyed tone.
“Huh? Oh, yeah, here,” Eri answered, handing the strawberries over to Risa who passed it to her teacher.
“Wash your hands with soap now,” Risa instructed.
“Here, you can take this half, Tanaka-san,” Ai said, passing along a pile of strawberries to the younger girl. “Just cut it right down the middle in half.”
“Um, this way?” Reina asked, placing the knife on top of the triangular fruit.
“No, the other way around,” Ai chuckled. She placed her own hand on top of the kitten’s, automatically bringing herself closer to her. She turned the strawberry around under the knife. “So both sides are equal. See? And just cut down… like this.”
The knife sliced through the strawberry smoothly as Reina nodded in understanding. Eri spied the scene quietly as she wiped her hands on the kitchen towel. She then took a few steps away from the counter towards the table where Risa was peeling a banana.
“Nee, Risa-chan?”
“Hm?”
“Um… don’t you think Sensei and Reina are a little too close right now?”
The bean turned around to look at the spot where her girlfriend was cutting fruits with the ex-yankii and shrugged. “Not really.”
“But they even held hands…” Eri muttered.
“… Are you jealous?” Risa asked, smirking.
“You’re not?” Eri shot back.
“Not at all,” the bean said cooly. “I have nothing to be envious of.”
“… What happened to the Risa-chan that was so paranoid this afternoon because I intruded on the oh-so-precious lunch time with Sensei?” Eri asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Gone forever,” Risa grinned. “Because you see, I confirmed it today that Sensei is bounded to me strongly enough that… well… we have mutual feelings that we wouldn’t want anyone else: it’s faith.”
“Faith…” Eri mumbled, looking up at her lover. Reina and Ai were having a conversation about something quite interesting apparently, since the kitten’s lips were stretched into a big smile.
We have that… don’t we? “That’s right, faith,” Risa nodded. “Now help me peel these bananas; I’m gonna ask Sensei to cut these too.”
The two friends quickly peeled a couple bananas and had them sliced. When all the fruit preparations were done, the large salad bowl was filled with layers of fruit from top to bottom. Then, Risa took out cups of yogurt from the refrigerator and peeled it open. She then spread it across the fruit bowl as the dressing while Eri’s mouth watered just from watching.
“Okay, all done!” Risa announced.
“It’s so pretty,” Reina commented.
“It tastes even better,” Eri smiled.
“Here, let’s bring it to the living room,” Ai suggested.
The fruit bowl was soon placed on top of the coffee table with the women surrounding it. Ai brought out some forks to eat the food with. As soon as the utensils hit the table, Eri’s hand shot out to grab it and spear a fruit to bring it to her mouth.
“Itadakimasu~” the turtle said as she chewed.
“Mou, you couldn’t wait up for us, Kameha?” Risa groaned. “Itadakimasu.”
“Itadakimasu,” Ai and Reina said in unison.
Eventually, all four women were eating the fruit salad, making small talk along the way. Reina continued to ask Ai about her “young days” back in Fukui, to which the teacher expressed over and over again that she preferred to leave it in the past. Eri made a couple failed attempts to get her teacher to reveal her semester grade, as Risa just rolled her eyes. The bean then turned the conversation around to involve Reina and asked about how they met; Reina talked about the whole situation where she thought Eri was a boy at first, amusing Ai very much.
“Mou, Kameha, will you stop eating just the strawberries?” Risa complained. “I want some too, you know!”
“You snooze, you lose,” Eri taunted, spearing the last strawberry with her fork and bringing it to her mouth.
“Uh-uh, no way!” Risa said, grabbing the turtle’s wrist to stop her from claiming the last piece of fruit. “Let me have it, come on!”
“No, it’s already mine!” Eri grinned, trying to break free.
“Come on, give it!” Risa laughed, trying to turn the fork around towards her. “Come on~”
Suddenly, a loud clack of a fork hitting the table caused both friends to jump, letting the strawberry fall back into the bowl. They looked towards where the sound came from to see Reina sitting straight up with a tight smile.
“Eri… can we talk?” she asked, trying to seem pleasant but her stiff expression revealing otherwise.
“Um… sure,” the turtle shrugged.
The ex-yankii got up to her feet and pulled her girlfriend up as well. Eri lead the way to the study as she looked back. Risa had a confused expression from Reina’s sudden change in attitude while Ai had a worried look. Eri just shrugged before entering th room and closing the door behind her.
“What was that?” Reina asked, scowling at her lover.
“What was what?”
“That whole thing with the strawberry?” Reina scoffed. “You were practically about to feed her!”
“We were just fooling around, Reina,” Eri laughed. “What’s wrong with that?”
“I’ll tell you what’s wrong with that,” Reina snapped. “I guess it’s a lot more fun to be with her than me, right? Splashing water, joking around all the time, because she knows you so well since you guys have been together for so long, right?”
“Is that seriously where you’re getting at?” Eri asked in disbelief. “You’re getting jealous over Risa-chan?”
“I am
not jealous!” Reina growled.
“We’re just friends!” Eri yelled back. “Besides, it seemed like you were having your own little fun with my teacher.”
“She’s my role model!” the ex-yankii shouted. “Am I not allowed to talk to her? Because she’s your teacher?”
“Oh, you can talk to her, but it seems like a lot more was happening than that,” Eri shot back. “You know, it’s not necessary to hold hands while cutting fruits.”
“We weren’t holding hands! She was just teaching me how to cut it right!”
“It’s fruit salad, not rocket science! She doesn’t need to teach you anything!”
“Well,
sorry for not knowing how to make fruit salad! This is ridiculous!”
“
You’re being ridiculous! You know Risa-chan is my best friend, why are you getting so worked up over it?”
“Because I should know you more than she knows you!”
“And you’re getting angry over this kind of thing?!”
“YES, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU, BAKA!”
A sudden silence filled the room apart from the heavy breathing from both parties. Eri’s frown slowly dropped into surprise from her girlfriend’s confession as Reina’s cheeks turned pink from embarrassment. She closed her eyes and sighed, trying to calm herself down. Eri watched her, biting down on her bottom lips, not knowing what to do.
“… I should be the one to know you best,” Reina mumbled, rubbing her forehead as she looked down. “I want to be the closest one to you because I love you the most. I know I can love you better than anyone else, so… I don’t want to hear about someone else knowing more about you than me.”
“It’s the same with me,” Eri admitted, smiling a little. “I guess… I got a little jealous over seeing you so marveled by the sight of Takahashi-sensei. You don’t look at me that way, not really.”
“Of course I don’t look at you that way,” Reina explained, also smiling. “I look at Takahashi-san with respect. But I look at you with…”
“… love?” Eri suggested.
“Yeah, that,” Reina grinned.
Eri smiled as she walked over to her girlfriend to give her a hug. Reina wrapped her arms around the turtle as well as she sighed with satisfaction at the warm embrace.
“I’m sorry I got jealous too,” Reina mumbled into Eri’s shoulder.
“We’re such a baka couple,” Eri laughed. “But I don’t mind being stupid if it’s with you.”
“Oh, that’s a new line,” Reina snickered, taking a hold of the turtle’s face between her small hands to get a better look into her sincere eyes. “But I have to agree with it…”
Reina leaned in for a kiss to which Eri automatically responded to. Their lips shaped themselves around each other’s perfectly, as though the bond between them was meant to be. This was the comfort that they both appreciated; it was proof that no matter how many times they fought or argued, they would eventually return to each other. It was a natural phenomenon; only two halves could make one and form a complete pair.
“We should get back to the living room,” Eri murmured into the kiss. “Sensei and Risa-chan are probably wondering about all the yelling that went on…”
“Mm…” Reina nodded reluctantly, knowing her girlfriend was right but still wishing that they could stay alone for a little longer.
The two girls held hands as they opened the door back into the living room. But when they stepped into the view, their feet rooted to the floor as they froze in shock. Eri’s mouth dropped open with a pop as Reina blinked furiously.
Risa was lying on the couch with her blouse half opened to reveal a bit of her undergarment, heavily making out with the teacher on top of her. Ai’s hand was stroking the bean’s stomach, causing her to moan quietly. Reina raised an eyebrow and looked at her girlfriend, who seemed to slowly come back down to earth. Eri cleared her throat to indicate her and her lover’s presence, but was ignored. She then cleared throat again louder, but still had no effect on the couple making out.
“HEY!” Eri yelled, realizing her previous method was not working.
The teacher’s eyes opened in shock as she suddenly got up too fast, causing her to lose her balance on the couch and tumble down to the floor with a thump. As Ai groaned in pain, Risa quickly sat up and covered her chest. Eri’s eyes widened as she started to slowly realize what the loud thumps were when she had first arrived at the bean’s house. This would also explain Risa’s stuttering when answering the door as well.
“Sensei!” Eri yelled in horror. “Reina and I were in the other room for just a moment and you went down on my best friend?!”
“So Takahashi-san has that kind of hobby?” Reina asked monotonously, not seeming so shocked anymore.
“I didn’t go down on anyone, and what
hobby?!” Ai yelled back, blushing deep red. “Gaki-san started this first!”
“And now you’re blaming it on Risa-chan?!”
“She’s right though,” Risa cut in, shrugging. “I did initiate.”
“And you broke the same promise twice now,” Ai said, glaring at her lover.
“I think we should leave,” Reina said to Eri.
“But Risa—”
“I’m fine, Eri,
“I’m fine, Eri, you should go home with Reina,” Risa sighed.
“But—”
“Thanks for having us, Gaki-san,” Reina smiled. “We’ll leave you two to settle your own little problems.”
“We don’t have any—”
“You two should solve yours, too,” Risa grinned, cutting off her teacher.
“Oh, we settled them already,” Reina answered. “The verdict is that we’re just going to be idiots together.”
“Sounds good.”
“Risa-chan, are you sure—”
“I’m fine, Kameha, go home,” Risa insisted, preferring to be left alone with her lover.
“… Okay,” Eri sighed. “See you tomorrow.”
“Un. Later.”
Reina and Eri exited the apartment and closed the door behind them tightly. Then, Reina led the way as they started to climb up the stairs.
“… I’m kind of glad I went,” Reina voice echoed, breaking the silence. “That was pretty interesting.”
“You mean the thing we just…?” Eri started, looking at Reina with a confused expression.
“No, not the make-out scene,” Reina scoffed. “I’ve seen a lot of those when I used to hang around with Junjun and the other girls… I’m talking about meeting Gaki-san and Takahashi-san, and getting into a fight with you.”
“The fight too?”
“Yeah… Don’t you feel like we’re closer now? I think fighting makes us confess a lot more about our feelings… And that way, we get to know each other better, right? And that’s what we want.”
“I guess you’re right,” Eri grinned. “By the way, are you staying overnight?”
“Um… yeah…” Reina mumbled as she nodded. “Just three days until he comes… I don’t think… I don’t really want to be left alone.”
“Daijoubu,” Eri smiled warmly, tightening her hold around the kitten’s hand. “I’ll protect you all night again, just like last night.”
Reina smiled gratefully at her lover, feeling her heart warm at the comforting words. She knew she could hold Eri to her promise.

“… I think I’ll go home, too.”
“No, don’t go!”
As Ai stood up and started to collect her bag, Risa jumped off the couch and held onto the older woman’s arm. Ai stopped and sighed deeply, shaking her head.
“Gaki-san, you already broke our promise twice,” she said, turning her head around to frown at the younger girl. “Didn’t you promise that you wouldn’t try anything like you did today at lunch while I was at your home?”
“… Yeah… but you liked it too!” Risa argued. “That’s why Eri thought you were the one who initiated it because you turned the tables on me and took charge!”
“I don’t take enjoyment in being attacked by my girlfriend like that,” Ai said, still frowning. But her cheeks turned redder, knowing Risa was right about the pleasure of making out that way being mutual between the two of them. “I’m leaving.”
Then, Ai pulled her arm out of Risa’s grip and slung her bag over her shoulder. She walked over to the door and started to put her shoes on. Risa stayed right behind her, watching her teacher’s back with a regretful expression.
“… Are you angry?” the bean asked quitly.
“Look, Gaki-san—” Ai turned around to face her girlfriend and stopped short before continuing. Risa’s eyes were filled with nothing but sorrow towards the older woman, catching Ai off-guard. Her heart immediately melted down from the sight, and just sighed.
“Are you?” Risa asked again. Ai silently took her sandals off again and stood properly to face the bean.
“… Come here,” Ai sighed, smiling sadly. Risa immediately jumped into her arms, forming a tight embrace. The teacher stroked her lover’s hair, feeling completely helpless in front of Risa’s charm. “I would be lying if I said I’m not angry at all… but it’s already passing.”
“I’m sorry,” Risa apologized, snuggling further into Ai’s shoulder. “I shouldn’t have done that; I took it too far.”
“It’s okay, love.”
“It’s just… I really love you, and when I… you know, attack you like that, your response is the only way I know you want me too. It makes me happy.”
“Didn’t I already tell you how much I desire you?”
“Actions speak louder than words,” Risa mumbled, causing Ai to chuckle.
“You have to remember,” she said, “I didn’t say that we would never sleep together. The time will naturally come; you just have to stay patient for a little while.”
“Yeah, until graduation,” Risa muttered.
“Perhaps,” Ai replied. “But I’ll confess that just hugging you like this is enough to weaken my resolve a little…”
“Can I try to weaken that resolve even more?” Risa asked, hopeful.
“Don’t push your luck, Gaki-san,” Ai answered immediately, slightly pushing the younger girl away to grin at her. Risa pouted as she sighed.
“Well… can I at least have a kiss?”
“Yes, you can always ask for that,” Ai laughed, allowing the bean to slowly smile as well.
Risa quickly leaned in to kiss her lover, to which Ai responded strongly enough to eventually take charge, like she usually did. Risa had to resist testing her lover again; she had hardly given up on her intention of getting into bed with Ai a little sooner. Graduation still seemed much too far away for her, and she wasn’t sure if she could hold back her love for her teacher for that long. But for now, just this kiss was enough to know Ai was there.
