@astro18: really?  it got old for me by the last chapter...  :sweatdrop:

@kano-chan: lol i am VERY happy.  I didn't even expect that story to be so popular, and i'm very thankful you all love it so much XD

So... I was on a roll.  So I just wrote this chapter straight through. XD

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chapter 43
   “Hai, douzo.”
   “Arigatou, Gaki-san.”
   Takahashi-sensei received the essay from her star student about how to conduct oneself in class.  Unlike the restless turtle friend of hers, the bean had actually taken her sweet time to write out the essay that would’ve normally taken her only a couple minutes, even if it was to be over ten pages.  She wanted to stick around in school a little longer, just so that she could stay with her teacher.  Alas, the sun was starting to set and the bean realized she had been dragging on for a bit too long, and that her teacher deserved to go home for the day as well.  So she quickly finished up and handed in her extra work.
   “Are you going to read it now?” Risa asked, leaning on the teacher’s desk in the front of the room.  “Do you think it’s good?”
   “You tell me; you wrote it,” the teacher smiled.
   “I think it’s pretty well-written,” Risa said.
   “Okay, then,” Ai shrugged.  With that, she ripped up the multiple pages of essays and threw it in the wastebasket.
   “Chotto!” the bean yelled in disbelief.  “Why did you do that?”
   “I trust that you wrote a good essay,” Ai shrugged, smirking.  “I don’t have to check it.  You’ll get all the participation points that you lost today, Gaki-san.  Good work.”
   “So you just made me write it for the sake of writing?” the bean questioned, narrowing her eyes.
   “Pretty much, yeah,” the teacher chuckled.  “I’m sure it was a beautiful essay.  On the other hand, I’ll have to read over Kamei-san’s essay since I didn’t expect her to finish so quickly…”
   “Oh, you’re cruel,” Risa grumbled.
   “So I’ve been told,” Ai smiled sweetly and innocently.
   “You really are an unbelievable teacher,” the student sighed, pouting.  “And I spent so much time on writing that too… By the way, is your shoulder okay?”
   “Oh, it’s fine, thank you.”
   An awkward silence followed as Risa nodded slowly.  She started to realize that she had brought up the topic a little too abruptly and at the wrong time, since she could feel her cheeks heating up.  The memory from that past afternoon returned to her thoughts as she imagined her teacher with her shirt pulled down on the side, showing a faint bruise from the falling books, and the smooth skin of her shoulder…
   Stop that, Risa! The bean thought, squeezing her eyes shut.  You’re acting like an old man; don’t be weird!
   “The ice pack really did help,” Ai said with a smile, breaking the silence.  “Thank you, Gaki-san.”
   “No, no, I should be thanking you for saving me from the falling books…”  Saving me from falling books?  This isn’t some sort of RPG game, Risa, you’re making it sound like a monster or something!
   “Well then, shall we head home?” Ai said, standing up from her desk.  “We’re probably the only ones left in the building; it’s pretty late.”
   “Yeah, I should get home before Mama gets back from work…” the bean mumbled to herself.
   “Ah!  I forgot!” the teacher suddenly gasped as she was packing her books in her bag.  “I left my grade book in the classroom.”
   “Mou, Sensei, you did that last time too!” Risa moaned.  “You shouldn’t leave that kind of thing just lying around.”
   “I know, I know, it’s my fault,” Ai sighed, smiling apologetically.  “Could you wait here for a while, Gaki-san?  I don’t want you to leave alone; it’s too dangerous at this time.”
   “It’s okay, the sun is only setting now,” Risa said.  “It’s not that dark yet.”
   “But still, I’m the one who kept you this late after school,” Ai insisted.  “I don’t feel comfortable letting you leave alone.  It’ll only be a couple seconds, okay?  Let me just run down to the classroom and get my book.”
   “Okay, I’ll wait for you,” the student laughed.
   Ai smiled as she quickly jogged out of the teacher’s lounge and disappeared down the hall way.  Risa idly started to look around the room in silence; there wasn’t anything new to see since she had been here many times.  It wasn’t for reasons that some unruly students came here for; most of the time, the class president had been called down for compliments or for something pertaining to her duties as iinchou.  Risa yawned as she lazily covered her mouth.  She was feeling tired from all the writing she had done.  Part of her felt like going home right away to relax but a stronger part told her to stay put and feel fortunate to be able to stay with Sensei so much today.
   At that moment, Risa noticed that her teacher had left her desk drawer slightly open.  The bean tried to close it but something got caught inside that prevented her from doing so.  So instead, she opened the drawer all the way and flattened out the stacks of paper that had gotten stuck in the corner and started to close it again.  Before she did so, Risa noticed a folded piece of lined paper, just rolling around in the drawer unlike the stack of worksheets.  Narrowing her eyes, she picked up the lined paper and unfolded it.  She gasped as she recognized the words written on it.
For one thing, I don’t think I hate her anymore.
In fact, I may even like her.
   It was the note that had been passed back and forth between Eri and her!  How old was this note anyway?  She recognized the other words scribbled all around the page as well.  This was the time when Risa was starting to realize her true feelings for Takahashi-sensei… But didn’t her teacher tell her that she had thrown the note away?  So why was it still here…?
   Just then, Risa noticed something else at the bottom of the page.  There was something whited out at the corner with more pen scribbles at the top.  She knew neither Eri nor herself had done that.  Whoever made that mark had written something and then had wanted to erase it.  Letting her curiosity get the better of her, the bean flipped the page over and turned on the lamp on Ai’s desk.  She then narrowed her eyes as she strained to read the flipped message.  She gasped as she finally realized what had been written before being erased.
I don’t think I hate you either.
In fact, I know I like you.
   Risa couldn’t believe her eyes.  This was definitely her teacher’s handwriting; she could even recognize it when it was a mirror image.  So many thoughts ran through the bean’s head.  What did this message mean?  Could it be that her teacher actually did have the same feelings for her student?  Then why did she lie about how she didn’t care for Risa at all?  By the way, hadn’t Ai said that she threw away this note?  Why was it still here?  Why did she lie?
   “Gaki-san, sorry making you wait!  I—”
   The older woman’s words stopped short as she burst back into the teacher lounge with a smile that soon dropped as she realized what was in Risa’s hand.  The bean looked up, shock obvious in her eyes.  The teacher pursed her lips tightly as she smoothed her face, revealing no expression whatsoever.  She figured that this sort of thing may happen and actually had faint hope that it would, but she had really done her best to prevent it.  But it was too late now.
   “Sensei…” Risa mumbled, staring at the woman before her with wide eyes, “this note… you still have it… I mean… why?  I don’t understand… and this part that you whited out—”
   “It’s getting late now, Gaki-san, we should head home,” Ai said in a low voice.
   “No, wait, Sensei!  Answer my question!”
   The bean continued to mumble on, unable to speak calmly as her teacher shoved the grade book in her bag on the desk and slung it over her shoulders.  She started to walk out of the lounge again before Risa stopped her.
   “Sensei, why did you lie to me?!” the student yelled, confused and desperate.
   “I never lied to you, Gaki-san,” Ai said calmly, her hands resting on the door handle.  She didn’t even bother turning around to face the younger girl.
   “You told me that you don’t care for me at all,” Risa claimed.  “But here, here it says, ‘I don’t think I hate you either, in fact, I know I like you’…  You… you’re writing that to me…”
   “Don’t make useless assumptions, Gaki-san,” Ai said with a steady voice again.  “Head home and calm down.  I’ll see you tomorrow.”
   With that, Takahashi-sensei walked out of the lounge without looking back as Risa exhaled sharply.  Her thoughts were all jumbled up together, immobilizing her of making a coherent analysis.  Ai had rejected her confession and now, the bean had discovered a note that showed her true feelings.  Did that mean her teacher had loved her all along?  Then why did she lie?  And if she still has this note, does that mean Ai still has feelings for the bean?  Did that mean mutual emotions?  Or was this all just by some sort of chance…
   No, nothing fits anymore! Risa thought to herself, ruffling her hair.  You have to stop her, Risa, don’t let her go now!  I have to know!
   The student sprinted out of the lounge and whipped around to face the long corridor; she could see her teacher walking slowly at a steady pace, a couple feet away.
   “Takahashi-sensei!” Risa shouted.  She thought about running over and grabbing her teacher but Ai stopped in her tracks without turning around.  “This note… this note is your true feelings, isn’t it?”
   “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Ai said coldly.  “Didn’t we go through that I didn’t hold the same feelings for you?”
   “But you’re lying!” Risa accused.  “You were lying before and you’re lying now!”  You’ve got to be lying… please say you’re lying…
   “What kind of example would I be setting for my student if I told lies all the time?” Ai said.  “Good night, Gaki-san.”
   “SENSEI!” Risa screamed again, forcing her teacher to stop in her footsteps once more.  “I… I might just be making a fool out of myself again but… if the reason that you kept this note is because you hold the same feelings as I do for you, then please… please be more honest!”
   “This conversation is over—”
   “PLEASE!” Risa shrilled, clutching the folded note sheet to her chest.  She bit down on her lips to get a hold of herself but she couldn’t stop the tears from overflowing her eyes and streaming down her cheek.  “Please… I have to know, Sensei, please tell me the truth!  If we feel the same way towards each other, why can’t we be together?  I thought I would be satisfied by just staying beside you but if you wish for the same thing… why can’t we be more than teacher and student?  Sensei, answer me!”
   Risa stared at her teacher’s back that made no indication of movement.  The younger girl let out a loud cry as she hung her head down to let her tears plop down to the tiled hallway floors.
   “You’re always like this, Sensei… If this is about you being bad person again, don’t give me any of that bullshit!  I don’t care about any of that, Sensei, I love you!  I love you so much that even if I hurt myself, I have to say it!  So please be more honest with yourself!  Stop putting yourself through all this!”  Stop putting us through all this… “I love you, Sensei, I love you more than anything else in the world.  Please believe in that… listen to yourself properly and do what you want to do!”
   Silence took over the hallway once more as the only audible sound was of Risa’s sobs.  Ai stood still for a couple seconds before clenching her fists tightly.  Suddenly, she whipped around and marched over to where the younger girl was crying.  She grabbed her wrist and pulled her roughly into the nearest classroom and shut the door.  Then, she slammed Risa against the closed door and held her wrist down.
   Before the bean could react to the sudden pain in her back from being swung against the wooden door, Ai leaned in and started to kiss the younger girl furiously.  Risa gasped, which gave the teacher just enough time to access with her tongue and swirl it around inside.  The bean let out a low whimper but didn’t fight back.  She could tell her teacher was being too forceful with the kiss, but she also felt anxiety, guilt, agony, and most of all, desire.  She had been waiting for this moment, to be able to touch Risa without anything restraining her.  Ai knew that the student’s second confession had really gotten her this time around, and knew that she should relax a little bit and go slower, but she couldn’t resist.  She had truly wanted this for a long time, to be able to kiss her and touch her, even if it was just a little bit.
   After a couple more seconds of biting and sucking, Ai finally backed away about a centimeter: just enough room to breathe but close enough distance to gaze as deeply as possible into Risa’s eyes.  The younger girl’s face was bright as she was breathing heavily.  Her eyes were still a little bit watery from the crying and her clothes were ruffled from being treated roughly.  Ai was pretty sure that she probably looked the same way at the moment.
   “Was that your first kiss?” the older woman asked quietly.
   “Yes,” Risa answered in a hoarse voice.
   “… Damn it,” Ai cussed, biting her lips.  She stared into Risa’s eyes with passion and desperation.  “Now, you listen to me.  If you let me touch you anymore than this, I won’t be able to hold myself back on a daily basis anymore.  You’re still young but this is different for adults; we don’t change our minds as easily as teenage girls do about love.  And once I take another kiss from you, I’m not going to let you go, do you understand?  There is no going back for you; it’s your final decision.  Do you get that?”
   “Yes, I get it.”
   “No, you don’t!” Ai yelled, shutting her eyes for a second.  “Another kiss from you, right here, right now, means forever.  You will be losing your chance at having a normal relationship like a normal girl.  There will be no more innocence and purity from you.  Your high school memories will be very different from other girls, most likely for the worse, do you understand that?”
   “I think it’ll be for the better.”
   “You still don’t understand!” Ai said through her teeth.  “You are losing a big part of your life here by letting me have you.  Your life will be covered with secrets and anxiety forever.  Do you really want that?  Do you?”
   “If it’s a package deal with you, then yes.”
   Risa smiled sadly as she slipped her wrists out of Ai’s hold which was weakening.  She cupped the older woman’s cheeks and pressed her forehead against hers.  Ai sighed and mumbled something incoherent under her breath.
   “You still don’t get it at all right now,” she said, “you don’t get it at all.”
   “I’m not being a romantic here, Sensei,” Risa said calmly.  “I’m not being some stupid teenage girl making a mistake either.  I know the risks and I know the worries but I still want to be with you.  And there will be no going back, and that’s my wish.”
   “… You’re making a big mistake,” Ai whispered, her eyes showing defeat.
   “So you’re going to stop me?” Risa asked.
   “I have no right to stop you anymore,” the older woman sighed.  “I can’t even stop myself now.”
   Then, Ai leaned in to kiss her girl in her arms again, much gentler and softer this time.  Risa wrapped her arms around Ai’s neck, determined to hold her in place.  The older woman raised one hand to stroke her lover’s cheek, allowing her to moan softly.
   “I love you,” Ai mumbled with a small smile.
   “Finally,” Risa joked, eliciting a chuckle form her teacher.
   After that little exchange, they started to kiss once more, unable to have enough of the sweetness they had both longed for.
   The first kiss was the contract.  The second kiss was the seal.  And the third kiss was the condition of eternity.
So far, it seems like TanaShige, KameShige, and TanaGaki are neck and neck with each other which REALLY puts me at a dilemma.  Just to let you guys know, I didn't vote and I don't plan to cuz I love all of these couples so much...  :lol:
on a side note, I'm glad that TanaJun and ReiKa are getting some votes at least :D
I shall continue to write!  :cow:
OMG!~This is such an awesome chapter. I feel like the plot is actually moving now that TakaGaki has advanced in their relationship. :lol: I'm really curious about what happened in Ai's past that's so secretive. I really like how you always leave some sort of suspense between all the couples. I'm currently wondering whether Tanakamei has taken a step into their relationship, what went on between Sayu and Junjun, and what is Ai-chan's past? But...I can't help but notice a pattern going on here.... All the couples were left in a state where they were kissing.  XD
@sapphire: lol I know how much of a major TanaKame fan you are... but I'm gonna split them up anyways, whether its GakiKame or TanaShige or etc. :sweatdrop:
Oh, don't get me wrong. I meant to say that I like how you're splitting up the couples and thinking about writing about different couples. :twothumbs As for GakiKame, I only see them as best friends, so it'll be hard to imagine. Plus, there's no GakiKame fanfic out there that really got me into them, so that's probably why they're one of the last on my list. But I'm always open to new couples and stuffs. We'll just have to see. :)
Omg, first of all, Kame dominant yay! I have been so busy lately, I haven't really had time to comment. Tanakame is so cute, I love shy little Reina. Prim and proper? Hard to imagine, but oddly fitting.
Second, omg Takagaki! Finally! I think I'm drooling, :lol: I'm so excited. I know this was a Tanakame main pairing, but Takagaki takes the cake in this chapter. Maybe it was the way Ai attacked Gaki. XD Am I making sense, I'm so tired. :sweatdrop:
So Finally Ai and Gaki get it on though I have the funny feeling that there are many unresolved feelings still between this pair, especially with Ai's feelings about the 'bad things' she did in her past!
Chapter 44
   Reina closed the door behind her and turned the lock with one hand.  Her other hand was being held on to by the turtle next to her who awkwardly took off her shoes and entered the kitten’s home.  The hallway was very dark; the girls could barely see in front of them.  But they could both still feel each other’s presence by their side.
   “Shitsureshimasu,” Eri said, dropping her messenger bag to the ground.
   “You don’t need to say that, no one’s here,” the shorter girl chuckled, letting go of her lover’s hand to take off her backpack.  She started to feel around the wall for the light switch.  “Why is it so dark in here?”
   “It’s okay, don’t bother,” Eri said, taking Reina’s hands and pinning them against the wall.  “We don’t need lights for our experiment…”
   Reina’s cheeks blushed a deep red as she slowly closed her eyes to meet her girlfriend’s lips.  What started out gentle and slow soon turned rougher and more passionate.  One of Eri’s hands made its way down to the slim girl’s waist and to her thighs as she used the other hand to balance herself against the wall in a way that her lover wouldn’t be crushed.  Moaning softly, Reina thrust her tongue into her lover’s mouth, eager for more.  Her hands, now free from the turtle’s grip, immediately constricted around her partner’s neck and tangled into the short hair.  Feeling her girlfriend get more and more into the action, Eri hitched up Reina’s leg around her waist, pulling the skirt up in the process.  The kitten gasped as she felt a smooth hand stroke her ass and give it a gentle squeeze.  As her competitive side burst into a fire, Reina started to furiously unbutton her lover’s shirt, pushing her hands in to feel two perfect molds on Eri’s chest.  She felt the taller girl lose a beat as she let out a whimper and bit down on her lips; the kitten dn’t dmiss the slightest chance to start kissing her with as much passion as she could manage.  She finally felt like they were on equal levels now since she had caught the turtle off guard.  The two girls were in such bliss, addicted to their own love, that they didn’t realize the lights had suddenly turned on.
   “Okaeri, Tanaka-senpa— WAH!”
   The two lovers immediately turned to face a teenage girl, frozen in shock, with two other girls standing beside her.  The shortest one had her mouth wide open as the tallest, black-haired girl snickered to herself.  Eri gasped as she turned around to quickly button her shirt back while Reina cursed under her breath as she pushed her skirt back down and fished her wrinkled uniform.
   “That was a nice show,” the tallest girl said, smirking.  “You guys can continue if you want.”
   “Shut the hell up, Junjun!” Reina growled, wiping her lips with her thumb to conceal the smudged lip gloss.  “What are you doing in my house again?”
   “Hey, it’s not my fault that you always leave your key under the first flower pot,” the panda shrugged.  She craned her neck to the side to look behind Reina.  “Good to see you again, Kame-chan.  Everything worked out pretty well, huh?  Did you score yet?”
   “Ah, yes, everything worked out, thanks to you…” Eri laughed nervously, scratching her head.  “And um… no, I didn’t… uh… score… yet.”
   “Aw, that’s cruel, Reina!  You’re still holding back?” the yankii leader clicked her tongue.  “How about you give Kame-chan here a prize for not giving up on you for so long?”
   “How about you just shut up and be grateful that I’m not beating your face in right now, huh?” Reina said through her teeth threateningly.
   “Ah… Reina?  I think you should calm down,” Eri smiled nervously.  “Your accent is coming out…”
   “And you!” the ex-yankii yelled, whipping around to glare at her girlfriend, who was clearly stunned now.  “Don’t actually answer her question like that… score… or whatever!  That kind of thing… Ugh!”  Reina stomped in frustration as she blushed with embarrassment.  She then quickly turned and ran up the stairs as Eri called behind her.
   “I guess I teased her too much,” Junjun laughed.
   “Um… I don’t think you should laugh, Jun-senpai,” Aika sighed.  “Tanaka-senpai was really mad.”
   “Sou, sou,” Linlin agreed, nodding.
   “I’ll go up and talk to her,” Eri sighed, smiling.  “She’ll be fine… I hope.”
   “Don’t worry, she’ll be back to her usual self in no time,” Junjun rolled her eyes.  “Reina doesn’t hold grudges.  Anyway, when she’s feeling better, bring her down.  We made dinner for everyone.”
   “You me ‘us’,” Aika corrected, “as in Linlin and I.  You just sat there trying to flirt with—”
   “Okay, I’m going to go up now,” Eri interrupted, realizing these girls always had something to talk about one after another.
   The turtle quickly skipped over the steps and approached the only bedroom door that was closed.  She knocked on the door to receive a “go away” in return.  Eri sighed as she entered the room anyway, closing the door behind her quietly.  She looked around the room, realizing that she had never been in here before.  The walls were spotlessly white as well as all the furniture, not that there was much anyway.  The room was surprisingly plain with a generally white-and-gray color scheme with tall ceilings that seemed to end in an odd curve.  There was a lump under the gray bed sheet in the center of the room.
   “I thought I said to go away,” a voice said from the lump.
   “You didn’t say, ‘please’,” Eri joked, smiling as she walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed.
   “That’s not funny,” the kitten mumbled.
   “Yeah, I know,” the turtle sighed.  “Come out and talk to me, Reina, please?”
   “I don’t want to,” the voice muttered.
   “Are you mad at me?”
   “Not you, it’s those annoying, pesky—”
   “Friends?”
   “… If ‘friends’ mean ‘mortal enemies’, then yeah.”
   “Come on, Reina,” Eri chuckled.  “Just show me your face.  Please?”
   After some silence, the gray lump started to move around.  Reina sat up and poked her face out from the blanket, pouting and still obviously annoyed from Junjun’s previous comment.
   “Good,” the turtle said.  “Now, I’m sorry if I upset you back there.  I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable like that, I won’t do it again.  I promise.”
   “Why are you apologizing?” Reina mumbled, avoiding eye contact.  “You didn’t do anything wrong.”
   “But I feel like I may have encouraged Junjun more,” Eri sighed.  “I shouldn’t do that.  So I’m sorry.”
   “… It’s okay,” the kitten also sighed.  “I guess I was just frustrated from seeing that they broke into my home again.  And also saw you and me… like that…”
   “Oh yeah, that,” Eri said, blushing a little from remembering the previous make-out session.  “Sorry about the skirt thing.  I went too far.”
   “No, I’m not upset that they saw me in… that position… or whatever,” Reina hesitated.  “It’s just… it was our moment, you know?  It was our world and then they just… broke it.  I don’t want people to see us when I’m focused completely on you and you only.  Am I being possessive?”
   “Kind of,” Eri laughed, “but I like it that way.  I’m kind of selfish when it comes to you, too.”
   “No, you’re not,” Reina scoffed.  “I think I’m the more obsessive one.  Like today at the arcade and right now as well.  It’s always been like this.”
   “That’s not true,” the turtle argued.  “Remember when we did that couple contest thing at the café?  I didn’t want you up on that mic ‘appealing yourself’ or whatever because… well… you’re cute.  You know, I was pretty pissed when everybody started to stare at you with googly-eyes.”
   “Googly-eyes?” Reina giggled.  “They were not looking at me like that.”
   “Yes they were,” Eri said, also grinning.  “And I glared back because I can be possessive too.  Like… this can only belong to me.”  With that, she quickly dove in to kiss Reina’s lips, causing her to turn red.
   “You’re a smooth talker,” Reina muttered, clearly her throat, “saying things like that…”
   “Well, is it working?” Eri smiled.
   “Is there another option?” Reina mumbled.  She then dropped the bed sheet from her head and snuggled closer to her lover.  “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
   “Me neither,” Eri sighed, embracing the smaller girl.  “Can we go back down and have some dinner now?  I promise I won’t encourage Junjun anymore.”
   “It’s okay now,” Reina sighed.  “I can handle her.  Thanks.”  She quickly pecked Eri on the cheek and stood up.  She also pulled the turtle back up by her hands and led her out of the bedroom.
   The two lovers marched back down the stairs and turned into the kitchen.  Aika and Linlin turned to look at them from the stove; they smiled when they sensed that Reina was in a better mood.  The young couple was, once again, wearing matching aprons.
   “Tanaka-senpai!” Aika yelled happily.  “Genki?”
   “Un, genki da yo!” Reina said, grinning.  “What are you guys making?”
   “It’s udon,” Linlin answered.  “We thought about making some thick tonkatsu udon but we figured regular was better for Shige-san.”
   “Shige-san?” Reina questioned, looking around the kitchen.  She finally spotted an unfamiliar girl, seated on one of the stools by the counter next to Junjun.  The panda stood up and pulled the girl along with her.
   “Reina and Kame-chan, this is my girlfriend,” Junjun said proudly.  “Usa-chan, this is my best friend Tanaka Reina and her girlfriend, Kamei Eri.”
   “H-hajimemashite,” Sayumi mumbled, bowing a little.  “Michishige Sayumi… desu.”
   “Doumo, Kamei Eri desu,” the turtle introduced herself.
   “Tanaka Reina desu,” the kitten said.  “You talk kind of funny though.  Like… you rehearsed your lines or something.”
   “Because she did,” Junjun snickered.  “I told you, Usa-chan, you have to loosen up.”
   “I thought I did fine,” Sayumi muttered, looking down.
   “She’s just a little shy in front of people she doesn’t know,” the panda grinned.  “But you’ll see her black side when she gets to know you guys better.”
   “Chotto!” Sayumi yelled, glaring up at her tall girlfriend, who only laughed.
   “Well, I like her, she’s cute,” Reina said, sticking her tongue out at the yankii leader.  “Can I call you Shige-san too?  I don’t know what this girl did to make you her girlfriend but good luck being with this douche.”
   “Ouch, that hurt, Reina,” Junjun said sarcastically, rubbing her cheek.
   “Um, I hope we can become good friends, Shige-san,” Eri said, smiling at the black-haired beauty.  “You can call me Eri.”
   “… Doumo,” Sayumi mumbled again without making eye contact.
   “Okay, everybody, the udon is ready!” Linlin announced.  “Everybody head to the living room!”
   “Why are we eating in the living room?” Reina questioned.
   “I thought it would be better if we all sit on the floor to eat,” Junjun shrugged.  “We’re eating udon after all, so I thought why not go all traditional.  Besides, it feels more like a family, doesn’t it?”
   When everybody entered the living room across the hallway, the short-legged rectangular table was already set up.  Reina sat herself at the head of one side as Eri sank down next to her.  Linlin sat on the other side of Reina as Junjun sat across from Reina.  Sayumi started to sit next to Linlin before Junjun swung her over to sit next to Eri instead, so that Aika can sit next to Linlin.  The pale-skinned girl seemed a little bit uncomfortable at first, but soon put on a determined face and sat down next to the turtle.  She knew she had to start opening up now; Junjun was such a social person.  If she wanted to keep up with her new girlfriend, she had to get over her phobias.
   “Okay, here it is!” Aika announced as she came out from the kitchen holding a pot of udon.
   She placed it in the center of the table and took off the oven mittens that she had on.  As she did that, Linlin quickly ran back into the kitchen to get the tray full of bowls and chopsticks.  Everybody passed aorudn the necessary utensils, making small chat while at it.  As Aika opened the lid of the pot, all the girls started to comment on the food.
   “Wah~ Oishii sou!” Eri breathed.  “It looks delicious!”
   “You still got it, huh, Aika?” Reina grinned.
   “Ii nioi…” Linlin said, sniffing.  “It smells really good…”
   “It’s thanks to Linlin for helping me,” Aika smiled, answering Reina’s question.
   “I’ll scoop!” Junjun volunteered, grabbing the ladle.
   The panda sat on her knees and bent over to scoop up some noodles with the soup and poured it into Eri’s bowl.  Then, she went around, one by one, distributing everybody’s share.  She finally filled Sayumi’s bowl as well, and winked at her while at it.
   “Okay, everybody as their food now, right?” Reina asked.  She clapped her hands together as everybody else imitated her.  “Seno!”
   “Itadakimasu!” all the girls said at once, except Sayumi who mumbled something under her breath.
   Everyone grabbed her chopsticks and started to dig into the food, complimenting the taste in between slurps and bites.  As the ladle started to work around the table again for seconds, the conversation worked its way up pleasantly.  Soon, everybody was telling funny stories and interesting events.  At one point, Aika even gave a warning to the turtle.
   “If you ever hurt Tanaka-senpai again,” she said in a low voice with a glare, “I will personally take care of you.”
   “Understood,” Eri smiled.  “It won’t happen again, Mitsui-san.”
   “Fine,” Aika muttered.  “… and… call me Aika.”
   “Really?  Is that okay?” Eri exclaimed.  “Then, you can call me… whatever else you want to!”
   “Say, ‘Kame-chan’!” Linlin encouraged.  “Go on!”
   “I’ll say it when I need to call her name!” Aika yelled, blushing a little.
   “Don’t worry Kame-chan,” Junjun laughed.  “Even if Aika’s acting angry right now, she actually likes you already.  I can tell.”
   “I do not!”
   “Can I have more udon?” Reina asked, eliciting more laughter from everyone except Aika who pouted.
   As the udon pot got emptier and emptier, the conversation made its way into various other categories, including things that had happened earlier in the day.  Eri talked about how she butchered her essay so she could quickly get to her date with Reina as Junjun and her girls started to all talk at once about how Sayumi had climbed a tree to confess to the panda.
   “Wow, you’re really something else!” Reina commented.  “Most of the girls I’ve seen around Junjun just begged and whined but I guess you’re not like that, huh, Shige-san?”
   “She’s completely different,” Linlin agreed.  “Jun-senpai’s the one chasing her, the way I see it.”
   “But I thought Shige-san climbed the tree?” Eri asked.
   “If she waited one more day, Jun-senpai would’ve climbed it sooner or later,” Aika grinned.
   “Psht, not true,” the panda scoffed.  “I don’t need to do things like that to get my girls.  They just come to me naturally.”
   “You’re the one who followed me around first, playing games and everything,” Sayumi mumbled under her breath.  “I didn’t even like you.”
   “Aw, come on, Usa-chan, you must’ve had some interest in me,” Junjun pouted.
   “Nope.”
   “Hey, I like this girl!” Reina laughed.  “She got you there, Junjun.”
   “Strangely, I’m okay losing to this girl,” Junjun smiled, pulling the bunny into her lap and hugging her, despite the shy girl’s quiet protests.  “I must be really crazy about her.”
   “Stop that…” Sayumi mumbled, feeling her cheeks heat up.
   “Well, I certainly admire you for climbing a tree, Shige-san,” Eri chuckled.  “Why didn’t I think of that?”
   “I’m glad you didn’t do that, Eri, you would’ve killed me with a heart attack,” Reina said, rolling her eyes.
   “Maybe I should’ve suggested you climb a tree…” Aika said to herself.
   “Let’s not get violent here,” Junjun laughed.
   “Anyway,” Reina said, beaming, “you can drop by anytime you’d like, Shige-san.  You must be something really special to have Junjun do the chasing.  And if you’re my best friend’s special person, then you’re a friend of mine too.  So visit when you’d like, okay?  My home is your home.”
   “… A-arigatou gozaimasu…” the bunny said quietly.  Home…?
   Sayumi looked around the table at everyone, smiling at her.  Eri was already taking her cell phone out to exchange numbers.  Aika and Linlin were trying to say something about what the gang could do now that Sayumi was obviously going to be a part of the gatherings now.  Reina was also asking her what class she was in, which Junjun answered for her.  Junjun.  And her warm arms could be felt around Sayumi’s waist, giving her comfort, love, and care.
   Home…
   Yes, this was home.  It was more of a home than a real home ever could be.
There was a lump under the gray bed sheet in the center of the room. ...
Reina sat up and poked her face out from the blanket, pouting and still obviously annoyed from Junjun’s previous comment.
I imagined Reina's sleepy pictures on her blog, just a tuft of hair and an eye peeking out of the blanket. :wub:
Am I being possessive?”
Is this foreshadowing? :?
Is there a spit take emote, cuz I could really use one here. :lol: Kinda like a "Huh? Wha-?" feeling. Well, do you already have plans for the next Arc? Like Jun maybe meeting Sayu's parents, Takagaki constantly sneaking around, AikaLin being AikaLin and Tanakame getting used to each other? Or have you been super busy again?
Also, could it be? New page GETS~!
