^ That's the hardcover copy, right? I'm waiting for the paperback version to come out.

Still got 307 pages left to read of A Game of Thrones. My goal is to finish Book 1 before the month ends.

It is! Really proud of my country getting such a strong representation cause I do love the landscapes. Particularly around the Glens of Antrim or Dunluce Castle, which I think they may have done some filming. Also, having Nikolaj in that video only seems to confirm that I really did walk past him in the Belfast city centre one day!

Mmmmm, bearded Nikolaj...

...And non-bearded Nikolaj...

...Just Nikolaj in general...

I just realized 2012 will be the year of the dragon....

Let's ignore the fact that Book Dany is originally 13, shall we?

^ I ignore all the ages all the time  GRRM has even acknowledged that he done fucked them up. He was originally planning on a time hop aging everyone up, but then timeline shit happened, and he ended up having to cancel that, so everyone's younger than they're "supposed" to be. (Not that that changes early storyline for Dany...) Other than that, he doesn't have kids, so I think he's a little removed from how kids age.

Even if in a medieval type society kids had to grow up faster, some of the stuff is a stretch... So I always imagine everyone like 3 years older than their book age, depending on who it is

^ Yeah, I ignore those ages as well and just imagine their TV counterparts instead.

So close to finishing the first book. 57 pages to go. Would've finished earlier but those Catelyn and Eddard chapters frustrated me so much I had to put the book down a couple times.

I've had moments like that throughout the books for sure. I remember reading the last Arya chapter and what happened in it made me put the book down but then I just had to read what happened next so much so that I read the rest of the book and avoided watching the Royal Wedding. I was kicking myself for not having the second book on hand as well, but it's a mistake I haven't repeated since!

Hmmm.....

So I have 4 months to complete A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings?

*Challenge Accepted

After 3 weeks (technically 12 days, give or take) I've finally finished A Game of Thrones.

Can't wait to start reading A Clash of Kings in January!

General word of advice, if you're going to look stuff up about it, don't read any of the comments sections. You get two types of book fans in them. One, they spoil aspects of the story out of badness. Or two, they're open for discussion on story threads but are so completely unaware that not everyone has read the books and thus spoil the story unintentionally. Just don't read comments.

All that's been said is Spring 2012, with the likelihood of wanting to air at around the same time as Season 1. In which case you're looking at around mid-April.

And start reading already! You'll get hooked from the first few chapters alone!

April sounds good (if true), means I still  have enough time, to finish book one and maybe start with book two.

^ According to their HBO page it's in April.

Ain't that the truth. The first day I read A Game of Thrones I didn't realize I was already past 50 pages before I put the book down.

Finally started to read A Clash of Kings and by Gods that was a long prologue. A good prologue nonetheless.

I still haven't read or seen this series yet.

Why don't we form a watching party of Season 1 to get ready for Season 2?

^I'd love an excuse to re-watch the series. Daenerys :hump: :hump:

First 2-3 episodes: ZZZZZZzzzz - didn't pick up the show again until just now in January.

After that? Pretty fuckin awesome. Just ordered all the books, can't wait for them to arrive.

You guys excited for the GoT RPG? Don't want to get my hopes up about the quality, but it could still be a fun time.

Tuffty is right though. Season 2 premiere on April 1st according to their HBO site.

Anyone pre-order or plan to buy the DVD/Blu-ray in March? If you buy from HBO you get an 'EXCLUSIVE' bonus video for free.
