I can't see Diane Rigg as the Queen of Thorns yet, but its going to be awesome nevertheless.

They've started filming again here in N.Ireland. It's all over the local news here. Showed you them filming a Brienne/Jaime scene. Expect lots of rain

So, I spent the last six weeks or so watching S1 and S2!

I haven't read the books and I was completely unfamiliar with GoT, other than what I heard from the fanboys and fangirls in the IRC

Let's see, where to start... First of all, it's much more coarse than I expected. So much nudity and intercourse!
Keeping track of who is who and from which area wasn't as hard as I expected. Each area has it's distinct look, which makes it easy to follow and interesting to watch.

Even though I enjoyed watching it and the show kept me interested due to the little cliffhangers in each episode, I do have a number of issues with this series.
- It tries to hard to be epic / it takes itself too seriously. Especially in the beginning. Lines like "When you play the Game of Thrones you win or you die" just made me cringe.
- Related to point one, lack of humor. Other than some snappy dialog, mostly coming from Tyrion Lannister, there is barely any humor in this show.
- Too much build up. I felt like the entire S1 AND S2 have been nothing but build up. You don't get enough action to justify all that build up. For example, pretty much the entire S2 has been leading towards the battle at King's Landing, but the only proper action scene we got out of it so far was the massive fleet explosion in Ep 9. Same story with the white walker, the dragons, etc. etc. In this aspect, the pace of the show is really slow. The pace is slow, but when you get to a scene which really matters it's over in an instant.

I do like:
- Good balance of the supernatural stuff. Yes, there are dragons, black magic, undead and whatnot, but so far none of it has played a vital part. They let the humans battle it out among themselves first and I expect all the aforementioned stuff to come into play in later season. Actually, the dragons can breath fire and the white walkers are on their way, so I guess we'll see some in S3 already.
- Areas, costumes, etc all look good
- Despite the supernatural stuff, there is still room for realism. I like how important characters can actually die unexpectedly! Nobody is save, which definitely adds to the excitement.

That's about it I guess. Let's wait eight more months for S3! lol

Not much of a tease. Or is it?  :?

Damn, I still have about 800 pages of ASOS left to read!

^ Not really. And what are you doing man?! Don't worry, you'll reach a point in ASOS where you have to read more, and then you'll have read about 400 pages in a few days. I should know, it happened to me.

Season 2 DVD/Blu ray details now. It's out Feb 19th in the US

Blu-ray with HBO Select – includes all DVD features plus:

War of the Five Kings – Track the claims, strategies and key players involved in the battle for the Iron Throne with this interactive guide that follows the movements of various armies detailing their victories and defeats.
Histories & Lore – 19 animated histories detailing the mythology of Westeros and Essos as told from the varying perspectives of the characters themselves and featuring, in-part, illustrations from Game of Thrones storyboard artist Will Simpson.
In-Episode Guide – In-feature resource that provides background information about on-screen characters, locations and relevant histories.
Hidden Dragon Eggs – Find the hidden dragon eggs to uncover even more never-before-seen content.

    DVD:

Creating the Battle of Blackwater Bay – See how the epic Battle of Blackwater Bay was brought to life in this exclusive, in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the climatic episode. The 30 minute feature showcases never-before-seen interviews with cast and crew.
Game of Thrones: Inner Circle – Actors Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Michelle Fairley and Liam Cunningham talk in detail about their experiences shooting season two in this roundtable discussion moderated by executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
The Religions of Westeros – Hear author George R.R. Martin, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss discuss the competing religions in the series and how they influence the various characters in Westeros and beyond.
Character Profiles – Profiles of seven major characters as described by the actors portraying them including Renly Baratheon, Stannis Baratheon, Robb Stark, Theon Greyjoy and more.
Audio Commentaries – 12 commentaries with cast and crew including David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, George R.R. Martin, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington and more.

One of my favourite bands lately, The Sword, are big ASOIAF fans, so much so that they've even written songs about it. To Take The Black is exactly what you think it's about.

^And what are you doing man?!

Deciding whether to get a 3DS and Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance....or a PS Vita and Persona 4 Golden?  :nervous

Good news is that I finished another 100 pages and boy do I really want to read the next 700 pages as soon as possible. If you want to know where I am right now, here's a hint: Poor, poor Jamie.  :smhid  Poor Sansa as well.  :(  Of course, Jon still knows nothing.

Sucks that I have to wait until March to get the paperback version of ADWD. (Yeah I know I haven't started AFFC. I wanted ADWD since August. Grrrr)

So....Season 2 recap watch party before Season 3 starts at the end of March next year?

Ooh, Ygritte's voice.  :inlove:

So how many times will we get to hear "You know nothing, Jon Snow" in season 3?

Ha, Tyrion's scar looks like it really has been reduced to a Squall-esque scar :P (Final Fantasy)

While not as gruesome as described in the book, I still applaud the producers for having the balls to give Tyrion a permanent scar.

In the best news possible for the upcoming Season 3, Emilia Clarke let it slip that she'll be naked at some point! :w00t:

She's so cute

What's more awesome than the Stark children singing the Game of Thrones theme in the Season 1 boxset?

Beatboxing and rapping the Game of Thrones theme in the Season 2 boxset.  :thumbsup

A man will definitely be getting the Blu-ray of Season 2. It is known!!
