Chapter 11
*Awkward silence*
Atsuko was looking at Kazuki as Kazuki was staring back at her. The other boys and girls all noticed the Kai’s aura changed from surprised to horrified.
‘Do I pretend to know her or not? Do I tell her I’m Kai or Kazuki? Ahhhhhh… Why did I not just tell her my name was Kai in the beginning! Now I'm so screwed.’ Kai’s brain was in overload as the street was full of people passing by, with some girls taking a quick look at the boys and stopped in their tracks as they thought that they looked familiar.
‘People are starting to notice us.’ Thought Riku.
“Let me introduce myself, I’m Ruki.” Riku lied as the girls that stopped in their tracks looked disappointed.
“Oh, I’m Kuro.” Kuu played along with Riku.
“I’m Kazuki.” Kai sighed in relief as Riku saved his ass. The girls that were staring at the group all left disappointed that none of the boys, however resembling the boys from Persona, were not actually either of three boys.
“This is Maeda Atsuko, she’s my kouhai so be nice to her.” Yuko introduced Atsuko but Yuko felt that Kai or Kazuki now, knows Atsuko and vice versa.
“Let’s go have some fun today. YEY!” Kuu exclaimed, as he earned looks from Sado, who was silently and discreetly trying to shut him up with glares as he was attracting a lot of attention and is embarrassing her.
As the group of six started walking around and shopping, they broke up into pairs as they shopped around. Kuu with Yuko, Riku with Sado, and Kai with Atsuko.
Kuu and Yuko were having tons of fun making fun of weird articles of clothing while Riku and Sado looked over them as if they were the parents. Making sure that they don’t cause trouble, while in the corner of the store, Kai was with Atsuko. Kai and Atsuko were giving off the vibes of couples, as they were actually looking at clothing, with Atsuko putting it in front of herself and asking Kai’s opinion. Kai and Atsuko were unaware that the other four were paying attention to their interactions as they were 5 to 10 meters apart from the rest of the group.
Off in a secluded corner, someone who was basically all dressed in black was fuming as the scene of Kai trying on a ridiculous looking hat that Atsuko picked out. Atsuko was laughing while Kai, with his mask on, seemed amused at the sight of Atsuko having a good time. ‘I will get back even.’ Thought the person in black as the group left the store and decided not to follow them anymore.
As they left the store, Kuu’s stomach gave a well timed growl as the rest of the group started to get hungry as well, it reminded them what time it was, lunch time. As the group settled down at a local family restaurant, their seating arrangements were Riku in between Kai and Kuu, across from Riku was Yuko, Sado across from Kuu and lastly Atsuko across from Kai.
“I’m so tired and hungry.” Kuu said as he was contemplating between a white sauce spaghetti with prawns or curry beef.
“Well, I’ve decided, I’m getting hamburger steak.” Yuko said.
“Are you ready to order?” A server came by and asked.
“Yup, I want hamburger steak.”
“Curry pork.” Sado coldly said to the server.
“Grilled mackerel set please.” Atsuko politely said.
“Well, since Sado is having Curry, I want white sauce spaghetti with prawns.” Kuu thought that maybe he could steal a bite off Sado’s plate and satisfy his craving for curry while he has his favorite prawns.
“Katsu-don.” Kai said as Katsu-don was his favorite food of all time.
“Omelet rice please.” Riku didn’t know what to eat so he randomly picked omelet rice.
As they were waiting for their orders to arrive, Kai’s phone rung as he got a message.
Kai~ I miss you so much. What are you doing? Are you free? Maybe we can go out. You better not be cheating on me with other girls. Don’t even look at them, you can only look at me. Since I’m not beside you, I’ve attached a photo of myself so that you don’t need to look at other girls, just look at my picture. I know a picture of me isn’t enough but don’t worry, because I’m yours, we will one day get married and you can look at me all the time, maybe in bed and under the sheets too.
A photo of Ray in a white bikini was attached, with Ray leaning down towards the camera showed her assets very well with a lot of cleavage.
As Kai read the message, he wanted to puke and his whole face changed from happy with friends to back off if you want to live as he popped a blood vessel when he finished reading the message.
“Kazuki-kun…Kazuki-kun, are you ok?” Atsuko asked as she was worried about him.
“I’m fine.” Kai said as he gritted his teeth but his expression soften as he looked into Atsuko’s eyes. Kai decided to ignore Ray and just closed his phone up and putted it back into his pants pocket.
As the food came, everyone was so hungry that they just ate without talking. The boys took off their masks as their food came but since the girl’s food came first, no one really noticed their faces. Well, at least Atsuko didn’t notice. Kai and Kuu is normally a messy eater so food got all over their faces while Riku was eating his omelet rice gracefully. Sado, who was eating her curry noticed that Riku wasn’t like most boys who are rude and immature but is actually well mannered and graceful with a hint of air-headedness.
Kuu, noticed Sado paying attention to Riku and not to her food, so he took his clean spoon and sponged off a bit of curry and rice off of Sado. When Sado finally noticed that her precious curry had been defiled by the villain who was now licking his spoon clean from the evidence. Kuu gave Sado a look that said, I didn’t steal your food. While Sado kept glaring at Kuu, from Riku, Kai, Yuko, and Atsuko’s point of view, they swore they saw daggers in Sado’s glares as Kuu continued with his own food.
Yuko tried to ease the tension as she stole some of Riku’s omelet rice.
“Delicious.” Yuko exclaimed as she began to lick her spoon clean of rice.
Riku was shocked, Yuko didn’t even change spoons as she stole his food. ‘When did I become so close with Yuko such that she’s comfortable enough to share food with me…a guy? It’s highly irregular as only couples or really close friends would share. Aren’t we just friends?’
Yuko started to blush a slight pink, not very noticeable but pink nevertheless. ‘Opps, bad move Yuko. How come my body reacts like normal with Riku, as if… as if he was her…Torigoya. No, bad Yuko, I can’t cheat on Torigoya.’ Yuko thought.
“You have Katsu-don all over your face.” Atsuko said with a smile. Kai started to clean his face off with a napkin. “Not there, over here.” Atsuko took his napkin and cleaned his face. As Atsuko took a good look at his face, she paused.
“Can someone tell me what’s going on over there with the two love-birds?” Yuko whispered to the other three.
“Let’s just sit back and enjoy the show.” Sado said as she herself didn’t know either and was hoping for an answer through the scene unrolling before their eyes.
‘Minami?’ Atsuko thought as she saw a slight blush appear on Kai’s face so she quickly moved away and excused herself to the washroom.
-Ladies Washroom-
“Minami…Kazuki-kun resembles Minami…does Minami have siblings other than Erena? A long lost twin?” Atsuko tried to cool herself down as she washed her face in cold water.
*Knock Knock*
(From the outside) “Maeda-san, are you ok in there?” Kai asked.
Atsuko quickly opened the door and pulled Kai into the washroom and locked it.
“Minami…” Atsuko said aloud.
‘SHIT SHE KNOWS.’ Kai thought as he acted like normal.
“Who’s Minami?” Kai asked as he acted slightly confused about the outburst from Atsuko.
‘Yeah, there’s no possible way that Kazuki would know… Minami in heaven is looking after me by sending a Minami look-a-like…’ Atsuko thought as she smiled slightly.
“I…had a friend called Minami… She was my best friend.” Atsuko started. “You resemble her so much… I nearly mistaken you for her…”
‘What should I say now? How do I politely move away from this dangerous topic without sounding insensitive?.’ Kai’s thought were interrupted as Atsuko started talking again.
“It’s all my fault that she isn’t here with me anymore.” Atsuko started to lightly sob. “I…killed her.”
“It’s not your fault, you didn’t kill her, if you did, you would be in jail.” Kai said as he tried to disagree with the statement of Minami’s cause of death.
‘She didn’t even die… She’s right in front of you… Please don’t cry.’ Kai couldn’t take it anymore and engulfed Atsuko in a hug.
“It’s ok to let it all out. I’ll always lend you my shoulder.” Kai reassured Atsuko the only way he knew how, silent encouragement of being beside the other and listening to her problems.
“I’m sorry, I think I feel better now.” Atsuko said as her eyes are still red
“If your better now, then can I see your beautiful smile?.” Kai asked as Atsuko blushed slightly and gave a small smile but noticeable.
“Ok then, let’s go back to the others.” Kai said as he felt relieved that Atsuko didn’t realize Kai/Kazuki and Minami are one and the same person.
‘Atsuko, I’m sorry.’
-Back at the table-
“So the two love-birds are finally back from their washroom break together.” Yuko said as Atsuko and Kai sat back at their respectfully places.
“You go Ka…Kazuki, you sly dog you.” Kuu said as he grinned.
‘Almost slipped up there. Kai is such a player.’ Kuu thought, ‘He has Ray and now Atsuko too…’
As the three boys had their masks off, the people around them in the restaurant were starting to notice them. The people around them couldn’t put a finger to it but for some odd reason, they remember them from somewhere, but where? As the other tables started to remember the three boys quickly put their masks back on, and left the restaurant with Riku paying for everyone as he got the bands spending allowance for the week.
After lunch, the day was still young as it was only 2:30 in the afternoon so they decided to go karaoke since it’s less exposure for the boys which was suggested by Sado. Sado just didn’t like the attention they were getting since she was never really use to being in the spotlight.
-Karaoke-
As they settled down into the Karaoke room, Atsuko was curious about how come they were getting so much attention today while they were shopping and eating lunch asked,
“Are you guys famous or something?”
“You found out.” Yuko said as she kept smiling.
“Kind of, not really. We three are Persona. I’m Riku.” Riku said
“I’m Kuu.” Kuu gave Atsuko a wink
“I’m Kai, sorry for lying to you.” Kai said as he gave a bow as a symbol of apology.
“Sorry, I still don’t really understand.” Atsuko gave a slight smile as she was still confused…
‘Ruki=Riku? Kuro=Kuu? Kazuki=Kai? Who are they?’ Atsuko’s head was spinning.
“We just debuted as a three man band. Our first single will be out next week.” Riku explained
“Then how do you know Yuko-san?” Atsuko started to understand but if they were famous, why would they hang out with Yankee’s.
“We filmed our PV at Majisuka, there, I got to know Yuko-chan and got her contact information so we just planned an outing.” Kuu replied.
“Oh…ok…”
“Enough of the chit-chat, let’s sing.” Yuko’s sudden outburst made everyone shift gears from serious talk to let’s have fun.
-An hour later-
“Sorry, I need to go to the washroom.” Riku excused himself as Kuu and Kai just followed him so that they can all go together to the men’s washroom Kuu and Kai were holding it since they got to the Karaoke place but they just didn’t want to go alone.
The three boys left, leaving the girls alone.
“Riku really needs to let loose sometimes.” Yuko said as she started to sip her tomato juice
“Kuu needs to shut up, he gets on my nerves all the time.” Sado gritted at the thought of Kuu.
“Kai…” Atsuko didn’t notice that she said Kai’s name aloud.
“So, what about you and Kai?” Yuko asked.
“Ha? What? Nothing? What are you talking about?” Atsuko started to panic a bit.
“Mhmm, so this is your nothing? Getting all nervous at the thought of Kai?” Sado teased.
“Oh shit!” Yuko exclaimed as she accidentally spilled her tomato juice on Riku’s shopping bag. Sado helped clean the table as Atsuko went out the room to find more tissue. Yuko took out the box and started cleaning the juice off and opened the box to make sure that no stains were made. As Yuko took out the bag that was in the box, she instantly fell in love with the bag.
‘Ahh, it’s so nice… I’m so envious… I wonder who it’s for? Riku has a lover?’ Yuko thought as she examined the bag. ‘Shit, it stained the bottom a bit…Hopefully he doesn’t find out.’
The mess was all cleaned and everything was put back into place before the boys got back. They all continued to sing and have fun. As it was getting late, each of the boys took a girl home as they were gentleman.
-Yuko’s front steps-
“I had a great time today, thank you for accompanying me the whole day.” Kuu said
“Me too, maybe we can do it again soon.” Yuko added.
“For sure, maybe the next time, just you and me, and not the sky scraper.” During Karaoke, Sado and Kuu kept bickering and Kuu thought of a nickname for Sado, sky scraper, since she was the tallest out of the whole group.
“I swear, you and Sado are really good friends.” Yuko said as she was thoroughly amused at the sight of Sado opening up to someone other than her and the queens.
“Ew, no. blegh.” Kuu made barfing sounds to the thought of Sado and him being good friends.
-Sado’s front steps-
“Well, good night.” Riku said
“That’s all you have to say to me? I know your hiding something Riku. Is Riku even your real name?” Sado was always the brighter of the two top’s in Rappapa.
‘Oh no.’
-Atsuko’s front steps-
“Well, this is it.”
“Thanks for taking me home, Kazuki-kun… I meant Kai-kun.” Atsuko corrected herself but felt stupid because she mixed up the names for the billionth time today after the announcement of his real name.
“It’s ok, it’s my fault. I should have told you.” Kai said as he looked down to the floor.
“It’s ok, I had fun today.” Atsuko smiled as Kai looked up to her face.
As Atsuko started to her front doors, she tripped. Kai, out of reflex, caught Atsuko but since they were both unbalanced, they came down to the floor with Kai on the bottom and Atsuko on top. As if in slow-motion replay, Kai grabbed Atsuko and pulled her close such that when they fell onto the floor, Atsuko would be unscratched but since Atsuko is taller than Kai, Kai pulled Atsuko face close to himself. In doing that, as they fell, Atsuko’s lips lightly brushed Kai’s cheeks. Atsuko blushed a deep red as she got off Kai and ran to the door.
“Thank you and good night.” Atsuko closed the door behind her.
Kai was shocked but even more so, blushed a bright red as he touched the part of his cheek that Atsuko placed her lips. “Good night?”

I'm really sorry it took so long....School sucks as usual and my work ethnics is that I get the next chapter done before I post the current chapter.... and the next chapter was a bitch for me to write....and now I'm starting on chapter 13 which is also a bitch......I don't think me and this relationship with writing fanfics will last very long......
