YukoRena: Blue Eyes
It was a cool evening as the sun was setting over the horizon. Everyone was going home after a long day and getting ready to prepare for the next day. However for one girl, she was nowhere near going home. For Oshima Yuko, she was still stuck in school in detention for causing trouble. She was forced to stay after school and wait out her detention and try to learn a lesson. However the only lesson Yuko was trying to learn was how to pull off the trick without getting caught. Yuko was caught fighting with one of the boys over a peek spot in the girls locker room. Now she is stuck in class for another half hour before she could finally go home. The boy she got into a fight with got out early because of stomach issues but Yuko thought he was faking it. As she sat there staring at the clock that she thought was broken, the seconds felt like hours as the clock hand slowly moved by. Then finally the big hand hit the twelve and Yuko was free. Grabbing her things, Yuko ran out the door before the teacher could say anything to her.
"Finally I'm out of here!"
Yuko ran out the doors and didn't realize there was someone standing there. Not having enough time to slow down, Yuki crashed right into the person standing in front of her. The two fell and crashed hard onto the ground hard tumbling over a little. Yuko sat up rubbing her head and was about to say something bad but when she looked up she saw a pair of black lace panties right there in front of her face. Yuko didn't say anything but instead tried to get a little closer. However she felt a hand shoved into her face and a shriek.
"Oi you pervert! Back off!"
Yuko looked up and saw a girl with long black hair and pale skin staring at her with an irritated look. Yuko quickly got up and said,
"Sorry! Are you ok?"
"Yes I'm fine." the girl said as she stood up.
Brushing off her skirt her started to look around for something. Yuko looked over and saw there was a bag laying next to her. Bending over, Yuko picked it up and handed it to the girl.
"Thanks. Now if you excuse me I'll be going now."
The girl walked off and Yuko sighed realizing she just let the most sexist girl she had ever laid eyes on walk off on her. Turning around to get ready to go home, she stopped when she saw something reflect on the ground. She picked it up and saw that it was an ID card with the girl's picture on it.
"Matsui Rena huh?"
The next day Yuko showed up to school and watched as everyone walked in through the main gates. Chewing on an apple while hanging in the trees, Yuko watched all the cute girls walk in and start to make perverted comments about the way they were dressed. Then suddenly Yuko saw the target she was looking for who was Matsui Rena. Jumping down from the tree Yuko quickly regained her footing and sped off to find the mysterious goddess. There were many people though so it was hard to find her and because she was short, that wasn't helping her either. Sometimes Yuko really did hate being so small and wished she could be a little bigger. However as she was walking there was suddenly a ball that flew right over her head and hit the person behind her. In moments like those she was glad to be small. Yuko ran into the building where kids were rushing to get to their classes and get their things before school started. Yuko had no intention of going to class and all she wanted was to find Rena.
The bell rang shortly after and the halls cleared. There was no one in the hallway and everyone was now in class. Yuko walked by every class and looked through the window to see if Rena was in there. Sadly though she wasn't in any of the classes and Yuko thought that maybe Rena didn't show up to school today. Having nothing better to do Yuko decided to go to the roof and relax there for a while. When she got up to the roof she pulled out a juice box and walked over to the pole that she usually leaned up against. She leaned back and started to drink from the juice pouch. Staring at the clouds she felt relaxed and at piece watching the clouds go by. Then out of the corner of her eye she saw something moving down below. Looking out, Yuko couldn't believe what she was seeing. Down on the ground was Rena who was walking towards one of the benches.
Throwing away her juice Yuko quickly ran down the stairs and out the doors. Hoping she wasn't too late, Yuko rushed over and was relieved to see she was still there. Before going over, Yuko straightened herself out and tried to make herself look nice before walking over. Then once everything looked good, Yuko walked over to the girl and sat next to her. She appeared to be reading something so Yuko tried to take a peek but the girl shut the book.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"I wanted to return this to you."
Yuko held out Rena's ID card but she didn't react. She just stared at it blankly and didn't say anything. Then Rena asked,
"What is it?"
"You're ID card."
"Oh thanks.."
Rena grabbed her ID card and put it away. Then she looked at Yuko and said,
"Thank you for returning my ID card."
"No problem.. so are you new here?" Yuko asked.
"I've been here for three years." Rena said.
"Really? I've never seen you around."
"Well I am and I've been taking special classes so it's no wonder you don't see me you yankee."
"Oi I am not a yankee!"
Rena laughed and said,
"No but you sure are funny. My name is Matsui Rena. What's yours?"
"Oshima Yuko."
"Nice to meet you Yuko-san."
"Call me Yuko!"
From that moment on the two became very good friends. Every day they would meet up at the same bench and have lunch together. They would take turns feeding each other and every time Rena missed Yuko's mouth and would make a mess of Yuko's face. Yuko would always ask if Rena was doing it on purpose and Rena argued that she wasn't. On days they would walk together sometimes Rena would run into things even though they were right there in front of her yet Rena didn't see them. Another thing Yuko noticed was that Rena couldn't swim on the day they had swimming for gym class. Also Yuko noticed how Rena's classes were nowhere in the school. She asked some of the teachers about Rena and they all said she didn't attend classes. All she did was wander around the school or read from time to time. She was technically a student but didn't really do much. Thinking something was up, Yuko decided to try to talk to Rena about it. She took her to the usual meeting spot and asked,
"Nee Rena.. Why don't you go to classes?"
"What do you mean? I told you I took special classes." Rena said.
"Yeah but they're not here."
"Oh.. well..."
There was an awkward moment of silence between the two. Yuko was starting to get more curious while Rena was trying to think of a way to get out.
"Rena tell me why don't you attend class?"
"Well um.. I think I better go."
Rena got up and tried to run but Yuko quickly grabbed her and pulled her back. Rena fell and Yuko thought she had saw something fall out. Rena looked over at Yuko and yelled at her and that's when Yuko saw it.
"Rena.. your eyes.. why are they blue?"
"Eh?"
Rena touched her eye and then said,
"My contacts fell out! Where are they?"
Rena started to crawl on the ground and look around aimlessly. Yuko looked down and saw one of them on the ground. She picked it up and saw that the contact had brown coloring on it. It was then Yuko realized that Rena was using contacts to cover up her eye color which was blue. Watching Rena, Yuko came to a conclusion that she was afraid to ask but she knew there was no other answer.
"Rena.. Are you blind?"
Rena froze and stopped moving. She stood up and started to run away. Yuko quickly chased after her and caught up to her. She grabbed Rena who looked over and Yuko saw tears coming from Rena's eyes. Yuko sat Rena down and the two started to talk about what was really going on. Rena explained how she had gotten a disease that caused her to lose her vision. The blue eyes showed she had it and she couldn't see out of either eyes. She didn't want her blindness to stop her though so she tried to fit in by wearing the contacts and doing her best to try to feel the things around her. Rena didn't want people to treat her differently because of her blindness and only wanted to fit in with the others. Having nothing else to say Rena just kept crying and crying. She thought that Yuko was going to leave her as well because of her condition. However Yuko smiled and did they exact opposite. Taking Rena's hand, Yuko held it gently and said,
"Rena I'm not going to leave you. I love you Rena so why would I leave?"
"Eh?? You love me?" Rena said.
"Yes I love you Rena and I'm not going to leave you because of your condition."
"Yuko..."
Yuko kissed Rena on the lips and held her as Rena slowly started to calm herself. Stroking her hair Yuko did her best to calm Rena and let her know that she was never going to leave her. To Yuko, Rena was Rena who was the kind and silly girl with a princess attitude that she had grown to love. She wasn't going to let something like that stop her from loving Rena. Kissing her lips once again Yuko said,
"I love you Rena with your beautiful blue eyes."
