Chapter 6
The break was soon over and everyone headed back to class. Yuria walked alongside kumi and occasionally peeked at her.
Takamina and the group was discussing about the ‘usual thing’ that they had been talking about.
Class was over in a flash and yuria decided to stay back in school to study. As usual, takamina and the group went home after biding goodbye to yuria. Kumi was asleep and her head was on the table. Yuria saw that and smiled a small smile before walking towards kumi and sat down in front of her. She looked at kumi’s sleeping face and smiled. After a short moment of staring at kumi’s cute face, she decided that it was time to wake kumi up.
“Kumi-san, class is over.” Yuria tapped kumi’s shoulder and waited for a response.
Kumi fidgeted and pulled down her hoodie before saying: “Eh? School is over already? That’s fast…” Kumi rubbed her eyes and stretched.
Yuria just smiled at the action and thought about how cute kumi was.
Kumi stood up and took her back before staring at yuria: “Thanks for waking me again.” Kumi gave a smile to yuria, which made her blush.
“W-welcome, see you tomorrow.” Yuria said.
“See you…” Kumi said and asked yuria:”Staying to study again?”
“Y-yea…” Yuria said.
“hmm… alright, see you tomorrow.” Kumi slang her bag over her shoulder, covered her head with her hoodie, and put on her headphone before heading out of the class.
“bye…” yuria whispered a small goodbye before sighing and she sat down on her seat.
She took out her notes and textbooks and started writing away.
“…uwaa, as expected this IS difficult…” Yuria scratched her head with the back of her pen and tapped her chin with her finger.
“hmm… Ah!” She found a solution and smiled happily.
1 hour passed and yuria was focusing more than usual. She had managed to solve 5 questions in that hour and she was very happy about it.
“When there is a will, there is a way, Way to go yuria!” She smiled as she solved her 6th question.
“Uwaa, this is difficult…hmm…” Yuria was about to put her pen on the paper but the lights in the classroom suddenly went off.
“Uwah! E-ehh?... W-what?” Yuria was shocked by the sudden darkness. The classroom was dimly lit. No light was shone accept for the small ray of sunlight from the setting sun.
“E-ehh?” She nervously stood up from her seat and walked to the switch in the classroom.
“… it’s not working…” She attempted to turn on the lights but to no avail.
She went swiftly back to her seat and began packing her bag. Yuria didn't like this at all. The previous night had been too much for her and she really hated the darkness, especially when she is alone.
Yuria put her last note into her bag and hugged her bag close to her chest.
* ring,ring *
“Uwah!” Yuria was shocked again by the sudden ringing of her phone. She flipped it open and it was an unknown number.
“H-hello?” Yuria said.
“…”
There was no sound at the other end of the phone call. Only a slight breathing noise could be heard.
“H-hello? Who is this?” Yuria said as she trembled abit. The mood in the classroom was not helping at all.
“…”
The phone call was cut off and yuria closed her phone. She looked around and gulped.
* Ring,Ring *
Yuria stared at her phone for a while before picking it up and flipping it open.
“Hello? Who is this? Please stop this prank.” Yuria said, her anger was rising and so was her fear.
“…”
“Hello? Can you please speak?” Yuria said again.
“hi, I am tammhy…is this yuria?” The voice sounded like a child.
“sorry I don’t kn- Hello?!” Yuria couldn't finish her sentence and the caller had hung up.
“…” Yuria was speechless. All she could do was stare at her phone.
Yuria wanted to make sure that she was not alone. She looked out of the window and she sighed a sigh of relieve. Students were still around and that calmed her down a lot.
* Ring, Ring *
Yuria looked at her phone and just as expected, it was an unknown number again. She got flipped open her phone and said : “Hello? I don't know who are you but I don’t like the prank you are putting up!” Yuria snapped angrily.
“hi, I am tammhy… are you yuria?” The voice sounded weird.
“I don’t know who are you! Sto-“ Once again, the caller hung up the call before yuria could finish her sentence.
“...” Yuria grabbed her bag and walked out of class. The hallway itself was scary because there was no one and although there was light, yuria still felt someone watching her.
She looked around and walked swiftly at the same time causing her to trip.
“O-ouch!” yuria fell to the ground. She rubbed her leg and looked at what had tripped her. Her leg had a small bruise from the fall.
“Ahhhhh!” Yuria jumped back up and screamed. She took a closer look and sighed.
“Ahh! It was a rat! Mou!” Yuria dusted the dust off her shirt and skirt before grabbing her bag close to her and walked swiftly down the stairs.
“I should never stay back after school again! Bad things always happen when I do so!” Yuria said angrily, at the same time, she was scared.
* Ring, Ring *
Yuria was really angry now.
“Hello?!” She shouted.
“Hi, I am tammhy… are you-“
Yuria hung up before the caller could even finish their sentence.
“Humph!” Yuria pouted and ran down the stairs. The stairs looked longer than usual. Maybe it was because of the fear that yuria had.
* Ring, Ring *
“What do you want from me?!” Yuria was closed to tears. She was angry and scared at the same time.
“hi, I am tammhy… are you yur-“
Yuria didn't give the caller a chance. She shut her phone and gripped it.
“Mou! Who is it! Why is this always happening to me!” Yuria was on the verge of tears.
Suddenly, yuria heard something bouncing. It was the sound of a basketball.
Yuria turned around and on top of the stairs was a basketball, bouncing towards her.
“N-no no no no!” Yuria screamed and ran down the stairs as fast as her legs could go.
“S-stop it! Someone!” Yuria was very scared. She was very afraid. She had Goosebumps.
Yuria was finally close to the end of the stairs and she could see light. She ran down the stairs 3 steps at a time and with the speed that she was going, she accidentally tripped.
“Ahhh!” yuria closed her eyes and waited for the impact.
“o-oi, you okay?”
“Yuria opened her eyes and she was in kumi’s arms.
“Kumi-san!” Yuria was surprised and happy to see kumi here. Without thinking, she hugged kumi and pointed towards the stairs.
“T-there! S-something is…” Yuria shut her eyes and felt save in kumi’s arms.
“… there’s nothing there, don’t worry don't worry.”
Yuria felt kumi hug her and she was glad that kumi was there.
“Kumi-san!! * sob *” Yuria burst into tears and continued : “ I was so scared!! Uuuuuwaaahhh!” “there was this number, and someone named tammhy kept calling! * Sob * It was so scary!!” yuria sobbed and explain.
“Tammhy? …” Kumi looked towards the stairs and sighed before giving her attention to yuria.
“Shhh, don’t cry, don’t cry, it’s okay now. Here.” Kumi took off her headphone and put it on yuria’s head.
Yuria heard the music in her ears and it felt warm. She looked up and kumi was smiling at her.
“K-kumi-san…” Yuria had teary eyes.
“…” Kumi said nothing and just smiled at yuria.
Kumi patted yuria’s head and said: “come, let’s go home.”
Yuria nodded and took a step forward but was stopped by kumi.
“wait…” Kumi grabbed yuria’s shoulder and looked at her.
Yuria blushed at the contact and the serious eyes of kumi. She looked away.
“You are hurt.” Kumi pointed to the bruise on yuria’s knees.
“It’s okay, I can still walk.” Yuria smiled weakly. The entire running had made her forgot about the bruise and when kumi pointed that out, she felt the bruise hurt and her legs were tired from the entire running.
“…” Kumi kneeled down with her back facing yuria.
She turned back to look at yuria with a smile, signaling yuria to get on her back.
“E-eh? I-it’s ok kumi-san! I can walk by myse-“ Yuria didn't manage to finish her sentence and kumi had pulled her by her arms and now she was on kumi’s back.
Yuria blushed at the close proximity. She hugged kumi from behind when kumi suddenly stood up.
Kumi gave a small smirk and piggyback yuria home.
“K-kumi-san, thank you very much.” Yuria said in a soft voice.
“Why are you thanking me?” Kumi said in a curious tone.
“Thank you for always helping me, I just feel like… you are always there when I need help…” Yuria said and blushed. The warm of the music that kumi listens to is going straight to her brain and it was helping her calm down.
“hmm~ you’re welcome? I just happen to pass by whenever you are in danger…” kumi lied.
“Kumi-san… you are warm…” yuria whispered as she fell asleep on kumi’s back.
“…yuria, you are so dense…” Kumi smiled and giggled a little.
They reached yuria’s house and kumi did the same thing as before. She took the keys from yuria’s bag and opened the door.
“We’re home…” Kumi turned on the lights and brought yuria to her bedroom.
“Seriously, you should be more careful yuria…” Kumi poked yuria’s puffy cheeks and smiled. “so cute…” she said.
“kumi-san, thank you…” yuria mumbled in her sleep. The headphone was still on her head. Kumi took the headphone away so that yuria could sleep peacefully.
Kumi stood up and mumbled: “tammhy… seriously, you guys…” Kumi shook her head and sighed.
“ah, I almost forgot!” Kumi searched for a first aid kit and applied medicine to yuria’s knee. She wrapped the wound and kept the first aid kit.
“Goodnight yuria… My baka hime…” Kumi smiled and patted yuria’s head before giving her a small peck on the cheek and smiled as she stood up.

Side story: (behind the scenes)
Takamina and the group packed their bags and bided farewell to yuria before leaving the classroom. Immediately after they left the class, they ran to the cafeteria and started to plan.
“We have to help get them together! Kumi will definitely be happy with yuria, we can all see that she loves yuria right?!” Takamina said in an excited tone.
“Takamina, you are too excited.” Acchan said as she slap takamina lightly on her arm and pouted to calm takamina down.
“Sorry sorry ahahaha! K let’s do the usual afterall?” Takamina asked.
“No, we should do something different.” Mariko said as she tapped her chin.
“Ehhh, why not just stick to the usual stuff?!” Takamina asked.
“Here, this plan will be perfect!” Miichan pushed a paper in front of takamina.
“Uwaaa?! U sure this will work?!” Takamina said and added: “It’s a little scary don’t you think?!” Takamina shivered a little with the thought of this plan.
“This is perfect!” Yuko said happily and gave miichan a hi-five.
“Okay we will go with this but! Make sure no one get’s hurt! This will give her a scary experience! You sure we gonna… Argh ok let’s do this!” Takamina fought with her decisions.
“mou, takamina, you are such a worrywart!” Haruna said as she clanged to yuko.
“Nyan nyan is having fun too!” Yuko said and leaned her head on haruna’s shoulder.
“ok guys lets do this!” Mariko said.
Takamina and the group proceeded with the plan. They went back to the classroom and as expected, yuria was studying in the classroom.
“K guys, we proceed with the first step. yuko.” Takamina looked at yuko and yuko nodded. She nimbly changed a few circuits and gave takamina a thumbs-up when the lights went out for only the classroom that yuria was in.
The group could see the actions that yuria was doing and it was time to proceed to step 2 when yuria started packing her bag.
“Step 2!” acchan took her phone and pressed a few codes before giving it to miichan. Acchan had set a code so that when they called yuria, it will be an unknown number.
“Wait what should we name ourselves?! Miichan asked.
“err, err Tammhy? Takamina’s T, Acchan’s A, Miichan’s and my M, haruna’s H, and Yuko’s Y?” mariko said.
“That is brilliant! As expected fro-“ Before miichan could finish, mariko said:” She is leaving soon! Make the call now!”
Miichan turned around and sure enough, yuria was about to leave the classroom after looking out the window.
“k here goes!” Miichan dialed yuria’s number and waited.
Whatever yuria said, miichan did not answer she gave a slow breathe into the phone and caused takamina to shiver. It was creepy even if this was their plan.
The rest giggled at takamina’s reaction and haruna had to shush them to prevent them from making too much noise.
They moved to another location so that they won’t get discovered.
They kept calling yuria and this time, the group had made a weird noise together and said the line: “hi, I am tammhy… are you yuria?”
They shivered at their own creepy voice but giggled again at the same time cause of the funny sound that they surprised themselves with.
“She is going to be afraid of unknown calls after this experience! We are so bad…” Takamina started feeling guilty.
“Don’t worry takamina, yuria is too gullible! She should not pick up any unknown calls more than once you know. We are teaching her that! This will do her some good!” Miichan explained and takaima nodded.
“Hey! She fell!” Haruna tapped the group’s shoulders.
“Omg!? Why did she fall?! If kumi finds out we are so dead! Did yuria hurt herself?!” Acchan was trying to check to see if there were any injuries on yuria.
“I think she bruised her knee!” Yuko said.
“Argh, we shouldn't have done this afterall!” Takamina blamed herself.
“Come on, we cant turn back now, it's the last step! Let’s continue!” Mariko said and winked at miichan.
“Yea! takamina! It was the rat’s fault not our’s don't blame yourself! We are helping yuria and kumi remember?!” Miichan shook takamina’s shoulder.
“Ok! I get it stop shaking me!” Takamina said, as she felt dizzy.
“ops, sorry hehe” Miichan mischievously smiled.
“K last step!” Takamina said.
“Here” haruna passed the basketball to takamina.
Takamina threw the basketball and it bounced towards yuria.
“This is creepy…” Takamina said and shivered again.
“I know right?” The group said and looked at each other before shivering.
The group heard yuria’s scream and they ran to see what happen. They sighed in relieve when they saw yuria in kumi’s arms.
“Yosh, mission accomplished!” Takamina said with a smile.
“Why were you so sure that kumi will still be around?” Haruna asked mariko.
“I have every info remember? I know kumi is always watching over yuria, it’s just that yuria has not noticed it yet.” Mariko smiled.
“ehh, Omg! I think kumi saw me!” Yuko panicked.
“What?! Where!” Takamina said and when she looked down, sure enough, kumi was looking at the group as she sighed and shook her head.
“Uh oh…” The group silently left the school compound and thought about what kumi will do when she saw them in school the next day.
