Chapter 1 [For the first time]
Sudden job offer.
Salary increase.
It was a wonderful day indeed for Dr. Watanabe. As the doctor paved his way on the way to the Hospital's courtyard, a girl suddenly bumped him and spilled her coffee on his pure white lab coat. Although his lab coat was stained, Mayu just showed a cool face and kept his composure. After which, the doctor went to the Hospital's laundry room first to change his lab coat before going to the garden. The moment he was finished, the Doctor went to the courtyard immediately to freshen up. Much to his reaction, he saw a little girl sitting on the bench he is usually sitting unto. Mayu then noticed that the little girl had a sad look written all over her face. As a pediatrician, Mayu cannot help it but feel curious and bothered by the little girl. And for that reason, Mayu approached the little girl.
"hello there little girl" Mayu smiled
"erm. Yuki-neechan told me not to talk with strangers"
Hearing those words, Mayu chuckled and said
"hm~ I'm Watanabe Mayu. I work here at the hospital. I guess I'm not a stranger anymore"
"you're clever Oniichan. I guess all doctors are clever like Yuki-neechan said"
"Yuki-neechan? is she your sister?"
"Yuki-neechan is my cousin. Oh that's right~ I'm Miyawaki Sakura~ I'm 7 years old"
When the little girl told Mayu her name, she begin to think about her younger sister that is currently living on his grandparent's house. The two of them have been separated when their parents died. A fact that still hurts Mayu up until now.
"Sakura-chan huh?, you have the same name as my little sister" Mayu put his hand on Sakura's head and smiled
"is she 7 years old like me?" Sakura smiled widely
"hm~ she's 10 years older than you and is a high school student"
"heh~ is she smart like you, Oniichan?"
"of course~ and I'm so proud of her"
"hehehe"
"anyway, what are doing here all alone, little girl?"
"I'm waiting for Yuki-neechan, she's a nursing student here you know?"
"ooh~ so Sakura-chan's Yuki-neechan is sugoi" Mayu grinned
"yep~ Yuki-neechan is sugoi~"
As the two of them talk in the courtyard, a voice called up Sakura's name which made stop for a while.
"are? Sakura-chan? what are you doing here?"
"ah! Yuki-neechan~ I was waiting for you" Sakura smiled and instantly hugged her cousin
The moment Mayu heard Sakura, the doctor turned his head and was shocked on what he saw. It seems that Sakura's cousin had the same reaction which prompted the air to be awkward. The two of them just stared at each other causing Sakura to be curious on what is happening. After a few moments, Mayu finally broke the ice.
"if I'm not mistaken, you're the girl earlier right? ugh.. what am I saying? it's obvious"
"hehe yea" Yuki smiled
"nee nee Yuki-neechan, you know Oniichan?"
"hm.. well yea~ my clumsy attitude caused our meeting" Yuki blushed a little
"I prefer not to call it clumsy attitude though" Mayu smiled
"well anyway, thank you for talking to my cousin while she waited for me" Yuki bowed
"don't mention it.. Come to think of it, I didn't get your name yet"
"It's Yuki. Kashiwagi Yuki"
"I'm Watanabe Mayu"
"nice to meet you, Doc Watanabe"
"nice to meet you too, my future student" Mayu smirked
And with that Mayu waved goodbye to them without even explaining why he said that to Yuki. Although Yuki is curious and all, she just waved at Mayu too and proceed to head out with her cousin towards the main gate. Meanwhile, it seems Mayu is still remembering his little sister for the first time again because of his meeting with Sakura. The doctor then went to the cafeteria only to find his good friends, Matsui Jun and Furukawa Aizen.
"oi Mayu~ kocchi kocchi~"
"Jun~ Aizen~"
"osu!" Aizen patted Mayu's back
"oi. why the are you, two doctors, here slacking off?" Mayu teased the two of them
"eh~ don't be cruel Mayu-tan~ even us, doctors, need a break~" Jun whined
"sou dayo~ Mayu-tan~"
"the hell... please stop calling me, Mayu-tan"
"LOL~ well anyway, do you guys believe in Love at first sight?" Jun asked
"isn't that Love at first f*ck?" Aizen replied with straight face
Hearing Aizen's sudden statement, the two of them flustered and shouted at Aizen in unison.
"Erokawa!"
"the hell?"
"you've watched to many Adult Videos already" Mayu facepalmed himself
"nope~ well anyway Jun, what's with the sudden question?" Aizen asked
"yea Jun. It's rare for you to ask something like that" Mayu noted
"hm~ had a patient earlier that told me his love story. The man fell at first sight with his wife. Their love blossomed until death took his wife"
"sometimes Jun, I'm curious at your work as a Psychologist" Aizen said
"Love at first sight huh? can't say that I believe in it" Mayu replied
"me too, haven't tried it before"
"then why don't we go to the bar and try it for ourselves?"
"count me out..."
All of a sudden Mayu stood from his seat and walked away. His friends didn't asked what's wrong and instead let him be because it's their fault anyway. With such state, Mayu went back to his office to calm himself down. As he opens the door, he saw his secretary placing Karukan and Akumaki one his desk.
"isn't that sweets from Kagoshima? I didn't know you're from Kagoshima, Oya-san
"ah! no. Someone told me to give this to you Doc"
As the Doctor became curious, Shizuka handled down a note to the Doctor. The moment he reads the note, he smiled widely and began to eat the sweets.
