Chapter 9.5 Saeyaka Special PlusNovember just passed, many things happened in a short span of time. The weather's pretty cold already. I wonder why she brought me here.
"Sae! I thought you trust Tomo~mi? So what are we doing here outside her building?" I asked.
"Ofcourse, I trust her! I just have a feeling that those two will continue being stubborn and will just keep things on themselves. We have to do something for our friends, you know."
I know Sae's such a good friend, she's really concern with the two Tomomi's.
"You think Tomochin can handle everything alone in the cafe?"
"Sayaka, don't worry! She'll be fine there."
"What's the excuse you told her, by the way?"
"I said we're on a date!"
"Whaattt?! Y-You're kidding right??"
Tomochin doesn't know anything about Sae and me, or does she?
"Well, she easily believed me. She even smiled and said have fun."
"I'm going back to the cafe!!"
I tried to take a step back but she stopped me.
"You're not going anywhere! You're now already an accomplice!"
Sae you baka... Well, I really have no choice now.
"This building is huuuge! I bet there are lots of car models inside!"
She was talking out loud.
"Hey! Is that the real reason why you dragged me all the way here?"
"Ofcourse not! This is for TomoTomo! But since I'm here, I'll grab the chance to also look around hehe.."
I knew it.. there's something more going in her mind. I'm starting to take back what I said about her earlier.
We looked for Tomo~mi's office. When we arrived, we only saw a girl who seems to work there.
"Excuse us, Miss. Is Tomo~mi here?" I asked.
"She's not coming today, she told me she's not feeling well. I'm her secretary, and you guys are?"
She looks like around same age as Tomo~mi.
"We're her friends." I answered.
"Oh, so she has friends. This is the first time she had visitors."
She sounds really surprised.
"So do you know when she'll come back?"
Tomo~mi's not feeling well, maybe she's really over-working herself.
"I'm not sure. That girl doesn't follow her schedules sometimes. Like again yesterday, she just suddenly disappeared."
She was at the cafe yesterday, so it means Tomo~mi went to the cafe during her working hours.
"Oh, nice car designs!" Sae is now having her own world.
She noticed the miniature car models displayed in the room.
"You like cars?" The secretary asked her.
"I've been interested since I saw and got in Tomo~mi's car." She explained.
"I see.. if you want I can tour you around. I can show you our new models, since you're Kasai-san's friends."
"Really? Yes please!" Sae's so excited.
I think she's forgetting the real reason why we're here. Well, whatever makes her happy...
We went to another floor where the new car models are being displayed.
"Sugoi!!!" Sae ran around like a kid.
"So how do you call this model?"
She asked the secretary as she points at one of the cars.
"Uhm, that one I think is.. CBR1000RR."
She answered with an unsure tone in her voice.
"That is model MB1000RV."
A guy confidently spoke from behind her.
"I know that! I was just confused.. and who are you?" She asked him.
"I'm just looking around here. I think you should be careful in discussing these with clients." He advised.
"Oh, it's you! We meet again!" Sae was surprised to see him.
We recognized the guy, he's one of Philip's friends we saw in the bar and in the cafe.
"Hi there! I knew you're interested in cars." He said to Sae.
"You knew each other?" The secretary asked.
"Not really, but it's the third time that I've seen both of them." He answered her.
"So let me finally introduce myself. I'm Terui Ryu. But call me Ryu, please drop the formality. I'm a car collector that's why I'm familiar with everything about cars.
"I'm Miyazawa Sae! And this is Akimoto Sayaka."
Sae introduced us.
"And who's this girl beside me?" He asked.
"I'm Narumi Akiko. I work here so I know these models better than you."
She answered him back.
"Oh, really? So what's your position here?"
"I'm the Director's secretary."
"So that explains it!" He laughed at her.
It's their first meeting yet they're already fighting each other. And where did just Sae go again? Arrghh.. there she is! She's more interested in those cars than me? And she calls this our date?
"Please stop the fighting, the two of you." I told them.
"Since Narumi-san works for Tomo~mi and Ryu is Philip's friend, I'll ask you both straight to the point. Can you confirm if they're engaged?"
"Philip you mean Sonozaki-san? Oh, that good looking guy! He's always around lately, but I never heard of the engagement thing. Maybe it's confidential." She answered.
"You have a crush on Philip? Forget it, he'll never fall for someone like you."
She just ignored what he said.
"Anyways, I don't know either. I just heard that engagement news from my friends. They weren't sure about it too." He responded.
I sighed. This is useless. I thought.
"May we know why you are asking this?"
"It's a long story. We're doing this for our friend who care so much for Tomo~mi. Well technically, they like each other." I tried to explain.
"So Kasai-san is in love, that explains why she looks happier than before. I work with her everyday that's why I can tell if she's changed. She treats me nice, so I think it's not a bad idea if I help her."
"Philip is a good friend, too. Arranged marriage really sucks. It's better for him to marry a girl who can love him back. Hmm, this is interesting. Wait, is your friend really with us?" He's talking about Sae who's busy looking at the car models.
"This is actually her plan, she's just a little disturbed at the moment." I said.
"Sae! I thought you're going to investigate! So what the heck are you still doing there?!" I called her.
"Look, Sayaka! These cars are so amazing!" She just continued on what she's doing. She's hopeless.
"Maybe I know how to get her attention." Ryu seems to have an idea.
"Hey Miyazawa-san! I told you I can let you test drive my car!"
Sae immediately came back to our place when she heard what Ryu said.
"Really?!"She asked and he nodded.
"Sayaka, can I? Can I?"
She asked my permission like I'm her mother.
"Okay, let's go somewhere else to discuss things." I agreed.
"How about you chief? Are you coming?"
Ryu asked Narumi-san.
"Chief? Are you talking to me?"
"Yes! It suits you well, 'cause you sounded like you're the boss here!" He teased her.
"Whatever! Since the real boss isn't around and I'm not doing anything right now.. Okay, count me in." She joined us.
We went down the building where Ryu's car is parked.
"We gain new friends, isn't it amazing, Sayaka! So this calls for a double date!"
"Double date? So who are partners then?" Ryu asked.
"Me and Sayaka ofcourse!"
"Are you two..." He is about ask something.
"Yes we are!" But Sae interrupted him.
"Sae, he's still not finished with what he's asking!" I said.
"Ryu, your car is amazing!" She just ignored me when she saw his car.
"So how do you call it?" Sae asked curiously.
"Diablossa." He answered.
"Cool name!" Then she gets on the driver's seat.
"So, if they're already partners. It leaves the two of us then, chief."
Ryu is talking to Narumi-san.
"Stop calling me that you Mr-knows-it-all!" She shouted back at him.
"He's handsome but he's so full of himself.. what a waste.."
She mumbled to herself in a very low voice.
"Did you say something? I think heard you talked." He asked.
"Nothing!!!" Then she got inside the car too.
"I have a feeling that I'll be frequently visiting Kasai Co. Ltd. from now on." He smiled.
"You seem pretty interested with Narumi-san. Just an advice, don't be too harsh on her." I told him.
"I'm just concern with their clients! She might ruin the name of their company, you know!" He laughed.
"How about Miyazawa-san? You like her too, right? I caught you glare back at me in the cafe before." He grinned.
I felt I blush in that moment. He can actually read me.
"I also have an advice for you, Akimoto-san." He said.
"Don't just wait and let the cars win her heart over you." He smiled.
I didn't answer him. Maybe he's right, because I'm starting to get jealous of Sae's new interest now. I get in his car.
"Miyazawa-san, you know how to drive right?"
He sits infront beside Sae.
"I drive in car racing games. It's my first time to drive a real car!"
Sae answered as she started the car engine.
"Whaaaaatt???!!" We all shouted.
"Chotto matte yo... ABUNAI!!!"
