I don't quite understand what tsunku-sama thinks.
Well, H!P is popular and all but I don't think many have powerful vocals.

Risako is a great propect for H!P. Maybe after Berryz she'll pair up with Miyabi. Something like GAM and W, i guess?

I do agree she ahs improved, but if UFA spent a little more time and effort on their idols, then they'd all be much better.

I don't think they do either. Remember that Musume Dokyu ep with Reina in a singing lesson a year or two ago? She said that was the first time since the audition that she got a real training. I don't think it's any difference with Berryz, especially now that they are so busy. I think they only train them when there's a new song and they have to learn to improve by themselves through lives and tours.

And like Loser87 said, there's no proof of her being mixed. Some even said it was French, not Canadian. It's one of Berryz's mysteries.

You can tell by her look. I'd say she is 1/4 Canadian, a lot of people say she's 1/4 canadian, in fact.

... They're an age group ranging 13-15, they can't SING as well as Morning Musume, which ranges between 14-23?

Yeah, and she's usually the first one to sing in MOST of their PV/Originals/Songs, I'd say 90% of the time she sings first.
And this isn't any fanboyism because it's a fact.

Well, they CAN sing better than Momosu, provided they have more training. BUT, they are busy with work and school. SO, there's no time for it.

Err.... well, first one to sing doesn't mean she has the best voice.
She might have great potential, but for now Miyabi's vocal is better than hers. IMO.

Well, compared to others she doesn't have a super voice. Miyabi had voice training before than joining, and Momoko loves her fans (no wonder she's the wotas' favorite), so she does her best for them. Risako has always been a front girl (mainly because of her adorableness) so she will have to improve eventually. And compare her younger years in Berryz, at first she almost yelled

, and now she can hold a note properly. I say, give her time

haha, her singing did seem like that sometimes. but she has gotten better, and her voice is pretty strong. i bet she'll be fantastic with a little more training.

Her voice in Very Beauty makes me melt, although yes our opinions are different, I agree with you with the fact that Miybi's more trained and how they gotta cope up with school and any other busy-related stuff.

Last time this was discussed someone even posted the article, it said in an ARTICLE in a NEWSPAPER/MAGAZINE that she is 1/4 canadian.
People saying it was french were probably just speculating if she was french canadian or something or just messing up the information.
Just like Umeda Erika is half german, risako is 1/4 canadian just as I am half scottish - it's not that uncommon.

Are there any more pics of risako in that magazine? I haven't seen some for a while...

i'm pretty sure risako is not 1/4 canadian, its probably a rumor just like the umeda erika one. i would really love to see this 'article'

^^ Aww, that's a disappointment. She always looked so photogenic in Pichi Lemon. Too bad that was such a short run. D:

On another note, though, I'm so impressed by how much Risako's singing has been improving lately. I was watching the Very Beauty performance that nachdenki uploaded from the Sakura Mankai tour, and just... wow. If you think about it from the beginning, she's gone from nervously shouting out her lines to actually holding her own in a really melodic song. Go Risako~
