haha, that's one way to describe that pile of shit. Although, after listening to it a few more times, it has grown on me  a little. The cowbell is infectious, but they still shouldn't have fucked around with one of their best songs.

Haha, agreed. The tempo change totally screws it up. And what's up with the guitars? It's so boring. The cowbell is funny. But they really should have picked another song. The original song is light years better. This doesn't even compare.

So I just went with a friend to a L'arc-en-Ciel concert in Iwate today. This is my first concert of another group/person besides H!P here in Japan. lol

So, to start: Hopped on a shinkansen to Iwate Prefecture, which is a prefecture north of where I live. Ate reimen, cold ramen soup and an Iwate specialty, and surprisingly it was good! The soup and noodles were slightly sweet and a bit spicy due to the kimichi they put in. I wouldn't mind eating it again. :D

But anyways, enough about food, onto the concert. I'm not a big laruku fan like my friend, but I do listen to their music and stuff and it was something I never gone to before. A concert besides H!P. And it was completely different. Instead of male dominated, it was female dominated. Instead of wotas, who wear long happi coats with their fav. member pics, we have girls dressed up in goth/goth lolita/ lolita clothing. XD It was a complete 180 for me. My friend keeps a blog and is connected to other bloggers who love laruku, so apparently one of the bloggers was at the concert as well, so we went to look for her. When we found her, apparently, she knows a bunch of other fans, including a group of 4, who brought a banner/flag that was going to be given to Laruku. People have signed it so they asked us to sign it as well. So now Laruku has a banner with a message from a gaijin. Not that they will be totally surprised as they did perform at Otakon a few years back.

Anyways, here is the set list:

Iwate Prefectural Hall
June 16th

01. SEVENTH HEAVEN
02. Killing Me
03. the Fourth Avenue Cafe
MC - Hyde
He talked about the last time they were in Iwate.
04. Shine
05. New Song
06. New Song 2
07. Caress of Venus
Between new song 2 and Caress there was a video playing advertising their tour goods and there is this polar bear that gets beaten up by a little girl for eating the magic bean and then when they were singing Caress, this bear was dancing in the background. It was all very strange and weird, but funny.
08. My Heart Draws a Dream
If I remember correctly, there was a ballerina dancing in the background on the video screen.
09. New Song 3
10. New Song 4; I think it is called "The Black Rose"
MC - Ken
More talk about Iwate and what Iwate is famous for, which besides reimen is also wanko soba. This is where you have a bowl and another person pours bite sized portions of soba into your bowl as you eat it as fast as you can. They will keep putting in more noodles until you say enough. So Ken tried this on stage with a giant bib around his neck. It was cute. He did very well for a first timer.
11. Driver's High
12. REVELATION
13. New Song (I think)
14. READY STEADY GO
I love this song

P'UNK~EN~CIEL
15. Feeling Fine
16. HONEY 2007

17. New Song
18. ??????????
Umm, it's not a new song, but I have no idea what it is. Sorry.
19. New World
20. Link
MC - Hyde
He talked about how getting to Iwate there was a bunch of rice fields and all that. He said he likes the countryside better than Tokyo! o.o Ok, Hyde. You can trade places with me then. XD
21. Jojoushi

It was a cool concert, but with many new songs, it didn't feel that the audience and the band connected as well, unlike, H!P concerts. At H!P concerts the wotas have all these coordinated dances and moves, but at the laruku concert, it didn't seem like that. There were parts of songs that people would all join in, but it was few and far between. Most did their own thing. That's another difference I noticed.

But wow, I just saw Hyde live. *still really hasn't hit Fen's head that Fen saw Laruku live*

i recently gotten into j-rock, and mostly becuz of L'Arc~en~Ciel,  i love listening to Driver's high (theme song to anime GTO) and Ready Steady Go (fullmetal alchemist) i heard them by chance when i watch these two anime and i just love these songs.  i'm especially interested in their jpop/rock style.  it's fun and addictive to me.  it's generally my kind of music.

unfortunatly, those two songs are like the only one i have of L'Arc~en~Ciel, so if anyone knows where i can find most, if not all, of their discography, please inform me.  i really want to check out their material. thanks in advance.

Hyde's the frickin man. I was into Jrock before HP so I have a massive collection of Gackt L'arc~en~ciel & others ( Gackt & L'arc being my favs cause they are so hott). *Sigh* I remember when I got my moonchild DVD a couple of years back it was the first Japanese thing I ever ordered.. & now I'm here. but I still listen to them even though I'm any H!P freak they still have a place in my heart.
