Max Payne  7/10

To short, maybe just me but the story didn't make much sense.
Action scenes were good.

Grave Of The Fireflies - 10/10

Powerful. Emotional. Classic. One of the best war movies ever and it's a rarity when I find a movie bring me to near tears. Loved it.

Wa Pei aka Painted Skin.  Pretty decent Donnie Yen film, it's not a thriller, moreover a drama

Cyborg Girl - 8.5/10

Hilarious & very touching ending. From the same director who brought "My Sassy Girl"...

Fun with Dick and Jane: generic, but has some fun moments 7/10

Ratatouille: Fun, but too long 7.5/10

Charlotte's Web: Way too moralistic and 'babe' was much better. 5/10

Earth - Hated it. Beautiful shots no doubt but the commentary ruined everything. First of all, the commentator has the most boring voice ever. Secondly, after every scene they would say something depressing / moralistic. Something along the lines of "with the ways things are going, the elephants may not get their water next year and will all die a horrible death." Besides the commentary, I feel the movie itself could've been much better too. Better structure, more different species etc..

Tropic Thunder

Not as good as I'd hoped. I guess my expectation were too high after all the positive reviews  :-\

Just finished "Closed Note," the movie that may have buried Sawajiri Erika.  So-so stuff; nothing we haven't seen before in J-cinema.  More to blab later.  Found a pretty accurate and fair review at the Hollywood Reporter website, of all places.

Earlier this week I watched "Boku no Imouto ni Koi wo Suru," starring Matsumoto Jun and Eikura Nana as seriously maladjusted twins.  Kinda junk movie, recommended only for the most-rabid of MatsuJun worshippers (or Eikura's, for that matter).

Twilight, it was okay, good movie if you ignore the fact that it misses stuff from the book and whatnot.
Wall-E, just watched that and it is SO EFFING CUTE. XD;

Hey Sab, I saw that Jun movie too! It was seriously messed up! It's based on a manga or anime and is 100% wrong.

Appears the manga was a LOT more risque/explicit; always is, I guess.  On the other hand I read that it had a cop-out ending.  And I guess not nearly as mundane as the movie turned out to be.

I would have expected a movie about sibling incest to be a lot more uncomfortable than this one turned out to be.  Horror movies depict death and suffering pretty accurately -- why not movies about emotion and sexual perversion?  (I know the answer, just saying...)
