No Country For Old Men - 10/10
The first movie I see this year and it will take something very special to top it as my pick for the movie of the year. You might think I'm being a tad hasty in already calling it, but it really is that special. Fabulous thriller plot with clever social commentary that isn't blatently obvious. Not to forget it's topped off with some fantastic acting from Josh Brolin, Tommy Lee Jones, Kelly MacDonald and of course, the star of the show for many people, Javier Bardem as the chilling Anton Chigurh. Yes, his performance really is
that good. Like many of the Coen brothers films, it sets a fantastic atmosphere throughout and particularly noteworthy was the almost complete lack of music throughout the entire film. Some complain that the ending is wide open or just ends abruptly, but personally, I loved it. A proper film, go out and see it,
right now.
