Just saw Nachtgestalten (Night Shapes), a German film from 1999. A very dark gritty portrait of Berlin and a few of its characters. I absolutely loved it.

Just saw The Yes Men Fix the World.

I don't even know what to say about this one. It sums up everything I hate about the world. I wish we could all be Yes Men.

Been wondering about the movie Catfish. My mom really wants to see it...and now so do it. Looks kinda fucked up and creepy, in the psychopathic kind of way. :lol:

I saw Scott Pilgrim vs The World a week back, and I absolutely loved it *o* Sad to hear that it isn't doing all that well :/ I'll probably go see it again at the cinema while I have the chance. It's worth it for the 8bit Universal logo sequence alone xD;

No, but seriously. You can joke about Michael Cera being everywhere, etc... but he's absolutely perfect in this film. It's hysterical, and with tons of incredibly geeky references 8D

I plan on reading all the Scott Pilgrim comics before seeing it again, so that I can be dorky and compare 8]

^HELL YEAH! Scott Pilgrim is such a fun movie. I read the first three books before seeing the movie (I haven't read the others yet), but so far I like the movie more. I considered seeing the movie again in theaters, but I didn't have the money after seeing two other movie which were nowhere near as good.

^ dope! I just DL'd it so gonna see what this noise is all about :D

where's the Jackass thread? swore we had one lol Am I the only one who watched JACKASS 3D and liked it XD Great malebonding movie LMFAO so many (no homo) moments. ITS A FUCKING TRIPLE RAINBOW

the 3D FX was hilarious, super slow mo shit flying through the air, one of em had their ass as a mountain in a toy train set XD oh man Steve O went all out. The got Preston the fat guy to wear this plastic bag suit and "work out" and FUCK they collected the sweat in a cup and Steve O drank it :puke:

The Dudesons :finland: were in it too, like up in a tree in a Santa suit XD

Of course the best ones are the stunts that take less than 2 seconds like getting real football players to totally slam em in the ground

and trying to do shit in the stream of a jet engine exhaust. This seems like the last one, cuz they had this montage of past and present cast members. If you just wanna see 3D technology used in the most fucked up way, go see this movie :bleed eyes: :P2

Saw Inside Job last week. It's a documentary but I really enjoyed it! Really makes me think about the state of the world's economy, and how greedy Americans fucked it all up. :nervous

I just saw The Sorcerer's Apprentice~ It was sweet and fun 8D Nicolas Cage, yeeeeeah! :lol: Loved the reference back to the Sorcerer's Apprentice sequence in Fantasia :heart: I'm kind of confused about who they were trying to aim this film at. It seemed too.. whatever to be a children's film, and yet it's a bit too childish to be aimed at teens... 8D I don't know. Don't really care either, I liked it :lol: Fun, easy entertainment ^_^

Avoid Skyline at all costs. The trailers make it look way better than it is. Don't pay to watch it or waste your bandwidth "renting" it. It
was crap that had me begging for a refund of my money & wasted time in my life.

Martyrs - 0/10

A truly awful film. I'm not even going to take into account cinematography, sound or acting into account here, that all seems serviceable at best. I'm talking about the film itself. I hate torture porn movies. Mindless films with no artistic merit IMO. Though I can get the appeal behind them, I think. How the suspense can build up, you know it's coming and you can revel in the glory and the effects of a kill. Well, this is a film where you cannot, possibly, enjoy what you're watching. If you think your knowledge of extreme violence in movies starts and ends with films like Saw and Hostel, you don't want to watch this. Particularly in the lattter third of the film it's just shot after shot of physical and emotional distress. Watching 20 mins of someone being subjected to very real looking shots of physical and mental abuse over the course of weeks if not months, is not my idea of entertainment, I'm just watching a sick fantasy. At the very least, films like Hostel didn't insult it's audience by suggesting that the violence depicted within had some kind of intellectual purpose. And I understand the message this artsy French film was trying to tell me, I appreciated how well it was shot and how it played with the conceptions of the run-of-the-mill horror genre...and you know what? It was still the worst thing I have ever seen. Absolutely disgusting, sensationalist movie.

Well, there's gonna be a new American made Godzilla movie set for a 2012 release.
Not by TriStar, thankfully, that one was just pure trash, IMO.

Quote
In 2007, film producer Brian Rogers met former Toho company director Yoshimitsu Banno who had the rights to make an IMAX 3D Godzilla film. Rogers then met Toho to arrange a license to produce a 3D Godzilla film. After securing the rights, Rogers approached several film companies and Legendary Pictures agreed to work with Rogers on the project. In August 2009, rumors surfaced that Legendary were in talks with Toho to produce a new American Godzilla film to be released in 2012.

On March 29, 2010, it was confirmed that Legendary had acquired the rights to Godzilla. They plan to reboot the franchise with Warner Bros. co-producing and co-financing. TriStar Pictures will not be involved in the production due to their rights expiring in 2003. Legendary plans to make the new film closer in style to the original Japanese character than TriStar's iguana creature. According to Thomas Tull, chairman and CEO of Legendary Pictures, "Our plans are to produce the Godzilla that we, as fans, would want to see. We intend to do justice to those essential elements that have allowed this character to remain as pop culturally relevant for as long as it has."

At the 3D Summit conference held in September 2010 at Universal Studios, producer Brian Rogers confirmed the planned date of 2012. The reboot will be a live-action project featuring a computer-generated Godzilla. Godzilla will fight at least one or multiple monsters, rather than simply the military as seen in Emmerich's remake. Rogers also confirmed that the two Godzilla head design stills that were floating around the internet and rumored to have been designed by Legendary and sent to Toho for approval were fake, they were just simply fan made. Rogers also went on to say that he and Legendary want to revive Godzilla in the same way Legendary revived Batman.

In October 2010, Latino Review reported on two rumours about the Godzilla project. The first was that Guillermo del Toro, the directer of Blade II, Pan's Labrinth and the Hellboy film franchise, was approached to direct the movie, which Del Toro later denied. The second was that Legendary was adapting an existing screenplay by Clash of the Titans remake writer Travis Beacham, a monster movie titled Pacific Rim, "set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace" as the basis for the Godzilla movie. Latino Review later retracted the report that the Pacific Rim script would be used as the basis for the new Godzilla movie.

Just saw How to Train Your Dragon. Everyone was saying how great it was back when it came out but I just kind of dismissed it. Well damn, it is really really great! The action was surprisingly top notch and kyaaaaa Toothless was adorable and cool. O_O I want a stuffed plushie for Christmas. :cow:

Also saw The Road a couple days ago which was pretty good but had a lot of one of my movie pet peeves which is people falling down every time someone is running from something. :lol:

I saw Narc today. I thought it was good, will probably watch it again sometime, but maaan... fat Ray Liotta D: I had to pause the film and get back to it after a while, because I needed to take some time to get over the way he looked. Hot damn. It also irked me that his character was named Henry, I mean come on~~~~! XD;;;

Just saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I thought it was pretty awesome! Scary though, not for kids. It's dark and violent, but I liked it. Can't wait for the final movie!
