The bands I am really excited about in that list are clisms, デラシネ, tiala, accidents in too large field, Tokumaru Shugo, bed, and にせんえんもんだい.
Though the only ones I have heard any actual albums by are TS, tiala, and にせんえんもんだい. (Those are all great btw)
Most of those hardcore bands you listed seem pretty original and/or skillful if you ask me. Especially tiala, AITLF, デラシネ, and Yolz in the sky.
I should note that I think Qomolangma tomato are pretty good. I just don't like them all that much. And I should probably give Group_inou and the telephones another chance considering I just gave them cursory listens before.
Out of curiosity what did the magazine say about any of those bands? Was it just a generic "these bands are good" kind of thing or was there more to it?
Despite being 100% Japanese my kanji reading skills are rudimentary having been born and raised in Canada.
The magazine gives short blurbs describing each band's particular style of music and the feelings/reactions evoked on listening to them.
All the bands on Less Than TV more or less got a description of "heavy guitars, violent rhythms but danceable post-punk"
They commented that Tiala is not only influenced by US/UK music but incorporate aspects from various styles/scenes across Asia including Singapore and Malaysia.
I scanned the article so you guys can read it. I'm too lazy to translate it though cuz that would necessitate cracking open my J-E dictionary and looking up 75% of the kanji.

I was a bit harsh in my criticism of the Less Than TV bands. This style may be new and refreshing to the folks in Japan but to me it's a bit played out wrt the US hardcore/punk I grew up listening to.
But I am being hypocritical b/c although I don't like listening to these bands' studio works, they may be amazing to experience LIVE. And that's the way it is with Qomo and group_inou. I wasn't impressed by what I heard and saw (Youtube) of QT on first exposure and sort of wrote them off. A few months later I ended up going to watch them perform a "vs LIVE" with Mass of the Fermenting Dregs. I went to the show primarily to see Mass Dre but ended up a much bigger fan of QT at the end of the night.
group_inou is a band whose sound I hated at first. In terms of hip hop my fave emcess would include lyricists such as Slug, Sage Francis, Ras Kass, C Rayz Walz. CP (inou's MC) has a really abrupt, robotic flow which is pure shite if you want to go by US hip hop standards. In terms of beats, DJ/producers like Primo, J-Zone, Pete Rock and Nujabes get the nodfactor plus. I wasn't used to having chiptune/techno used as the primary instrumental for a hip hop track. Furthermore, Imai (inou's DJ) uses a mixer alone without turntables.
But then I saw this clip on Youtube
and the manic energy with which they perform and work the crowd got me interested in them.
If you keep an open mind and refrain from comparing them to conventional US hip hop then you might begin to appreciate their unorthodox brand of music. Imai is a freaking genius on the mixing board and cp is more punk than Mariko Goto on acid when he gets up on stage. I got a chance to see them a couple weeks ago and they put on a crazy, energetic show which gets even the most timid wallflowers dancing.
I'll upload "one camera no cuy" once mediafire is up & running again.
