On Sunday, the 5-member rock band BEAT CRUSADERS announced on their official website that they are splitting up. Their last scheduled performance together is in September.

In their message, they avoided using the word "breakup" but indicated that they are "spreading out." They also said that it was very difficult to explain their reasons for the decision.

The band will release a DVD single titled "Situation" on August 4. They stated that their final live performance will be on September 4 at the OTODAMA '10 music festival in Osaka. Before that, they also have performances scheduled at several other music festivals: SETSTOCK, Rock In Japan Festival, Summer Sonic, MONSTER baSH, and Sky Jamboree.

BEAT CRUSADERS was formed in 1997. They made their CD debut two years later, then finally signed with a major label in 2004.

I am too! ;_;

Beat Crusaders instantly became my favorite band when I first heard their "Apopcalypse Now" album.

I wish they could just turn BECR into a side band instead of splitting up. I don't want them to retire the masks.  :cry:

Their final PV, Situation, has been making the rounds on the various music channels. Luckily, there's a high quality rip on Youtube.

Also, a picture Kubota posted on his blog from the shoot.

Oh and for those interested, Toru Hidaka will be producing Masafumi Isobe's (ex.Husking Bee) solo career. http://www.myspace.com/isobemasafumi

Can't believe these guys are breaking up. I've been hooked since Hit in the USA and Super Ko Rider. Their final PV is pretty awesome (but when aren't they, I mean come on! Dancing masks!)
I wish them all the best with their next projects.

Ellegarden first, then High and Mighty Color and now Beat Crusaders ... :cry:
BC, strange, is the only word I have in mind. It is sad when the great bands split up, he loved his songs, his unique sound-miss
