Kago Ai's girls unit Girls Beat!! to release 2nd single
August 23, 2014

3-member girls unit Girls Beat!!, comprised of Kago Ai, Kita Remi, and Himeno Ryona, will release their 2nd single "Mada, Yareru" on September 10.

Girls Beat!! made their debut in July with their single "Sekai Seifuku". Their upcoming single is said to be a punk rock tune with the catch phrase "What is the important thing? The road will still continue. Listen to the girls scream!" As the coupling track, the single will include a song called "Todoke! Todoke!".

Girls Beat!! is scheduled to perform in 'Utamusume Premium' on August 24 at LaForet Museum in Harajuku, and also in 'AKIBA TOKYO COLLECTION' on August 29 at BelleSalle Akihabara.

April 3, 2015

On April 3, former Morning Musume's Kago Ai updated her blog for the first time in 6 months. She announced that she and her husband are currently separated, and are working towards a divorce.

Kago revealed, "I'm sorry that I haven't been able to update my blog since last October. During that time, I had taken a break from my activities due to personal reasons. I, Kago Ai, would like to announce that I have separated from my husband, and we are in the middle of divorce talks."

She added, "I will make the announcement again once the divorce has been settled. For now, I ask that you please watch over us quietly as we have a young daughter." To her fans and persons concerned, she apologized, "I'm very sorry to cause troubles and worries."

Kago stated, "I grew up in the show biz, so as a woman and a mother, I would like to resume my activities, and repay everyone for their kindness." Finally, she said, "I will do my best so that everyone will support me. Please continue to cheer me on."

Kago's agency also explained, "We leave private matters up to her. What's written on her blog is everything."

    I was really surprised to see the news about Tsunku.
    Words he told me in my debut days pierced my mind.
    "Even if you will have a problems with the body (become disable), as long as you have a voice you can sing. Value your voice!"
    The pleasure of singing.
    The difficulty of singing.
    He taught me a lot about it.
    I can't even imagine how hard it is for Tsunku now.
    I entered Momusu and became who I am only thanks to Tsunku.
    I'm really grateful to him.

    Years have passed, and we all have went our separate ways, but Tsunku-san is
    always our father. Always will be.

I find it noteworthy how she refers to MM as "us/our"

    The least I can do is to value songs made by Tsunku.

Kago Ai has returned to her husband, stating she is financially unstable without him

To prove the article’s authenticity, I checked Kago’s blog. She has deleted the post she wrote earlier this month announcing her divorce.

**EDIT**
Either her husband is controlling her finances, and therefore can’t leave him, or she can’t cover the cost of the divorce itself. I’m pretty sure it’s the latter, but either way my heart is breaking for her.

This is more of a Japanese problem than Kago's

Apparently, there is no alimony law in Japan, & the divorced husband don't even need to pay a yen of child support if he gives up all custody of the kids to the mother

So Japanese women end up financially the losers in the event of divorce
