Stuff like these really show how the lines between "reality" and "virtual reality" are beginning to blur. Things that happen because of online events can directly influence our actions in "real life", as seen in this case.
It makes me wonder why we even make the distinction between online and offline as the "virtual world" vs the "real world". Is there any difference in how real the two are? The online world only lacks physical contact, but the social structure that shapes the offline world is still present online. I prefer to call "real life" simply as meatspace, since it makes more sense that way.
And anyway, the above was kinda offtopic. Guess this is another case of where people get too involved in a relationship. Regrettable, but it has happened already and can't be changed. I hope the family takes it well. And I wonder how the girl reacted...lol.
