6th book of the Investigator Renko of the Moscow Police Dept. series, the first book, Gorky Park, was made into a movie which turned out to be a really good watch. :yep:

Great series of books!!

lots of cool stories; some i'm familiar with, some are new to me. the book's written in a bit of a screwy order (i.e. not chronological), which hurts some, but the prose is lively enough that i can get past that.

Out, loved it so much the first time thru deserved a re-read, it received the Grand Prix for Crime Fiction, Japan's top mystery award back in 1997. :thumbsup

I've been meaning to reread this one after Egypt took center stage in the news, since what little I knew about Egypt came from the chapter on Zawahiri's background. I picked up the paperback, and it's an even more engrossing read than I remembered it being. Turns out there's an HBO documentary about Wright called "My Trip to Al Qaeda", too, and there just so happens to be torrents of it. Noice. :thumbup
