^ and tanakacchi is #110:( by the way reyfer is it in the alliances thread? for sure its not from the wonky:heart:ville...or from risa land...since the only H!P girls thread that i regularly visit are tanakacchi's, sayu's and risa's...actually if they're attackin sayu:heart: on the other threads its kinda way off our reach...but of course its against the forum rule to attack an H!P girl directly even if its intended to be a personal opinion...like one incident in the Boot and Immune game during the time that gakisan was about to be booted out one of the booters just added some harsh cheap side comment on his/her boot vote...but it was edited coz me and Thunderbolt was like so ready to counter...dude PM me if you don't want to discuss it here:)

me myself i'm a rika fan when i started out here...and i noticed both reina and sayu at the same time on rika's grad special in music fighter from then i dedicated to reina, sayu, and with the addition of risa of course i focused on tanakacchi whom i like the most and started to pimp teh wonky love to revive her dying official thread back then:) i agree with Kyobu...the haters will just be there...its inevitable.

Hey, Kyobu, I was not referring to you at all, I know it was necessary. The thing is that the people I'm talking about won't even acknowledge these facts: Sayu may not be the best singer or dancer, but she gives her all in every performance, and is not afraid of failing. And she has improved A LOT, just listen to her lead in Namida Ga Tomaranai Houkago at the Morning Curry Concert. Again, it's not you. I don't care if some don't like her, but please at least give her credit when credit's due.

I haven't been here long so I'm not sure which people you mean, reyfer, but I have seen this on other forums before. Personally, I adore Sayu, but to play devil's advocate for a minute...Sayu is in a pop music group that is mainly concerned with singing and dancing, but she's not very good at either one. From that perspective, it's not entirely surprising that some people would write her off as a good-for-nothing.

But for her failings as a singer, she does have the characteristics of a good idol. She's charimatic, energetic, photogenic and a damn hard worker. Her quirkiness makes her the best HPH host (IMHO) and she's done well with the radio show so far. She also seems like she's having loads of fun with it all, which is something that I don't see in some of the other girls. Compared to, say, Miki or Taka, who have the chops to eventually leave idol-dom behind and focus on solo careers, Sayu acts like she wants to enjoy every moment of this miracle before it disappears.

The result is, Sayu has built up a cult of personality, as reflected in that poll. And this is getting long, so I'll shut up now.

I agree with Fracture! Sayu is my favorite HP member, not because of her singing, but because she always came off as one of the girls who tries her hardest to enjoy her time in Morning Musume (and this has nothing to do with how adorable she is, honest). I hope she's around for a very long time

Sayu always looks like she's having fun, and she's definately got a great personality.

I think that the main problem with Sayu's voice is that she's trying to make it sound cute. And Sayu naturally has quite a deep voice that isn't suited to be cute. Because she sounded really good in her rendition of Koi no Jubaku on the lower lines. So I think that Tsunku should focus on giving her lower lines and maybe some voice lessons so that she can take her voice higher and better.

But the real reason I love Sayu is the sheer amount of cuteness she delivers. I always feel like she's a breath of fresh air. She's amusing, naturally cute, rather quirky and has a large hair tie collection! The mirror incident from her audition was the best thing ever!

Besides, I think it's better that they hate her than not care about her at all. Shows that she's got impact on all of them

I think Sayu haters are quite funny because it's like, "Why do you hate Sayu? - BECAUSE OMG SHE CAN'T SING OR DANCE AND SHE THINKS SHE'S CUTE" And it's like... Well, DUH!! Of course she can't sing or dance and of course she thinks she's cute!! It's her gimmick!! So it's mostly funny. Kinda like when Rika haters say "she can't sing!!!" Honestly, who the fuck cares if Rika can't sing? She's still awesome!! You know? It doesn't matter. So when someone says Sayu sucks, it's easy to just shrug your shoulders and think, "yeah, she does suck at a lot of things, but she's SAYU!! I'm going to listen to her sing Gag 100kai bun on repeat and ENJOY my brains melt away! Because that's the power of Sayu!!"

Morning Musume already has amazing singers. In a band of 8, not everyone needs to be an amazing singer to make the band successful. I mean, look at the pussycat dolls, they're big and they only really have one lead vocal.

Shige is adorable, and much respect to someone who is happy with theirself. I hate seeing people doing nothing but down them selves, "I'm fat, I hate my hair", seeing Shige show that she is confident and happy with the way she is, is what makes her so special.

I have to say, a while ago I really wasn't keen on Sayumi, but she is now my joint second favourite Sayumi member. Why, posts like all those above me

Like I said before, there will always be haters, Kamei has haters, Tanaka has haters, Michishige has haters...still love her just as much.

WOW, thank you all for your support. I'm sorry about my rant, but I just had to take that out of my chest. And I agree with some of you in that what Sayu needs is a song really made FOR HER. A friend of mine, a musician here, says she listens to Sayu's voice and she hears gold there, but she needs a song that appeals to her vocal range which, according again to my friend, is really extense, but more inclined to the lower tones. I don't know if I translated her words in the right way, but I really think that if Sayu is given a song that matches her vocal range, she will blow us away.

About all those reasons that haters give for Sayu.... they are the exact reasons I like her. So what if they think she can't sing or dance and think she's cute? Sayu never said she was a good singer or dancer. And why in the world can't she think she's cute? She IS cute

And I totally agree that she just needs a good soung. Afterall every singer gets songs specially tailored for them to sound good.
