“Why of course!” Finally fully dressed in the right underwear now, she tied her shirt to the back of her neck and stood with her legs shoulder width, and her fists to her hips, “If it’s not done the Ultra Super Sexy Gotou-way, then it’s not done at all.” Gotou’s face quickly met the dirty gym clothes of one of her old team mates, and P.E. classmates. Being stupid gets you in enough trouble, mixing over-narcissistic tendencies added more.
Is it wrong that goofy-Goto here is kind of a turn-on?

Again, the half dressed narcissist became dramatic, “Ah yes, only a few more years and I can have my way with her…” She let out a sigh as she thought of what the future had to bring between her and her little Reina.
Several members here have probably been thinking the same thing. :P

A shiver pulsed through Hitomi’s body as the visuals started kicking in.
And the rest are thinking THAT.

Not that bad a chapter, filler peices are necessary sometimes. I'm still stuck on the YuiErika angle, so much so that I'd nearly forgotten the original concept of this story, heh heh. ;) Goto and Yossui I love though.

the Yossi x Goto chats are funny! and boy do you take your time to write the most interesting part of the story! still waiting as patiently as possible for the IshiYoshi moment... or YoMiki moment (IshiYoshi! pleasee let it be IshiYoshiii)

btw I like your avatar of Hebe there (But I prefer her with longer hair)

Even if it is a filler chapter, it's good because it gives us a little more insight into the friendship and personalities of Yossui and Maki.  It's always nice to have a better understanding of the characters.

And yeah, it would be weird having your best friend seeing someone you consider a little sister.

I'm so anxious for the fights to start!  Nothing like drama and action mixed!  I have total faith in your writing, so I'm sure they'll be great!  So take your time and do a great job (but hopefully not too long  :p).

Psychotic, I like you :) Thanks for the comments! And I hope this was comedic and fulfilling enough. Thanks for the luck, Aced it.

JFC Uhhh no not at all. Any Gotou is a turn on :D. It's always nice to think dirty. Yes, it really is.

rndm Haha thanks. Damn, I'm writing too many fillers. I should stop that.

Sefty Sorry about that! I know, I take forever. Why? Really, I will write faster now because I take forever. Thanks! Hebe looks best any time. She's so cute!

Blizz Thanks for the kind support ^_^. I've got almost EVERYTHING planned for the fight. Probably to the last detail ('cept I need more on the starting). I just wanna hurry up and reach the point on the story where I can do that, but I'm so slow.

sorry if it seems sorta rushed ^,^; I've been holding off on A LOT of things, even school stuff. and I get distracted from all these new entertainment (I assure you it's NOT ADULT ENTERTAINMENT >=O). So yeah. This is the result.
This would have been out on Wednesday, but I blame my distractions. It would have been out on Thursday, since I skipped school, but again, distractions. It would have been out earlier today, but I went out. So now, here it is. Later than planned. Sorry ^_^;

-Owaranai_sLaVe

EDIT: I guess knowing about some stuff about track and field, along with (field) gymnastics would help. If there's a sport you didn't understand, wiki/youtube/google/google images are your friend :)

PT. 10

They were scattered like fallen marbles across the grand Musume Academy, one of the top all girls boarding school. Though academies were usually set for higher level of educational purposes, this special school also served as the number one for athletics. It was only practical that they had an Olympic size field for sporting activities.

Each was to their own class, conversing amongst other peers, staying within their circle. Because the school focused so much on physical activities, it wasn’t unusual for them to have more then one class, even if it was the same grade level, to be out at the alike time on the same field. Different coaches lead and directed different classes to their activities of that day and oh joy, it just so happened to be Physical Testing day.

“Oh physical testing, if only learning could be this fun and easy, right Mak-” Hitomi looked around for the presence of the friend she thought she was talking to. To no avail, she didn’t find her sneaky partner but kept searching anyway. Sometimes, if you didn’t watch her carefully, she would slip right past you. Almost like a child, just less cute and more of a little monster.  “What the… where is she now?” Hitomi tippy-toed above the heads that covered her blind spots, after no avail, she began to wonder a bit to confirm the departure of the sneaky little rat. “Dammit, she left me again. Just like the last time.

Usually, Hitomi didn’t mind being left alone, or doing sports at all. Why would she? It beat sitting in a class and learning about something that would never be used in real life anyway, right? But for someone as popular and watched as her, it would be dangerous doing such trivial acts- but such difficuilt tasks for the rest of the girls- alone with no one else to share the spotlight with. This was only because Hitomi was no Maki when it came to attention.

The coaches rounded the girls up like flocks of sheep, only because they needed to start each event off at the right time so when their class completed it, another would have their turn. Physical tests were always taken seriously in this school- if they had to, they’d continue during a rain storm, maybe even during a blizzard.

While her coaches were talking, Hitomi couldn’t resist doing a quick scan again, ignoring some sort of announcements for try outs. Whatever it was, it wouldn’t fit into her busy schedule anyway. She sighed and realized that there was no hope, she was alone.

Hmm, I’m wondering if I should just half ass it now…

“Ay shit!” Just then, a panting figure ran to her side, slightly colliding with her. “Did… we… start… yet?” The figure asked, as she took a breath in between each word, hunched over to let her lungs rest.

“What the, Gotou? Where’ve you been?” Remembering the question when Maki shot up from her position, “No, not yet, but soon. Where’d you go anyway? I thought you ditched to make out with another girl or something.”

“No! Of course not, no time for that today. Plus, why would I miss a day to shine and totally kick your ass like old times?” She grinned as her heart rate began pacing at the normal speed. It wasn’t easy running across the school, from the main buildings at the front, then all the way to the athletic fields in the in the back; behind the dorms and the gymnasium big enough to hold over 10,000 people. Indeed, Musume Academy was an immense school. Sprinting like this, and not having any real athletic activity for almost a year, let alone being a lazy bum who doesn’t do any time of exercise at her own time- Maki was too out of shape to be doing such tasks. Oh yeah, and let’s not forget the ten foot fence she had to climb.

I don’t get it, why is she grinning?

Hitomi eyed the new arrival, contemplating if that sly-like grin was for mischief, or for plain rivalry. But there was no time to think, being as she was interrupted by her coaches whistle, signaling that they had to jog to the other side of the field to the track. She focused on the teacher again, listening to what had to be done. If she hadn’t understood Maki’s reasons for coming back, she did understand that it was time to start the various meter dashes, and that her friend should have never came back at all. This was too easy... well for her at least.

“Are you kidding me?! I have to run again! Sh-” Interrupted by Hitomi’s hand grabbing her arm, the two girls sped down the field, following the already moving class. Well, it was more like watching one girl running in high speeds on purpose, and another girl being forced out of her will to their destination. It only looked that way because Maki’s head could have detached from her body the way she let it bobble as Hitomi pulled her.

“Yoshizawa, Hatsuki, Gotou, well done.” Maki looked just about done for as she lay on the soft earth beneath her. Hitomi laughed at the scene of her friend, out of breathe and beat red in the face as she stood leaning on over her knees.

Noticing that it was time to move on with the busy schedule, she began straightening herself up, then by force, pulled her dying companion up by the arm and led her across the field, again, to start the long jump test.

Wiping her nose that was covered in perspiration then continued between breaths, “Why? Why must they make us go back and forth!?” Maki’s whining took no affect, it didn’t matter how hard she tried to get out of Hitomi’s death grip; she could barely get herself to walk like a normal person, much less talk like one.

“Oh stop your complaining,” Hitomi slapped her across the back, making her emit a sound of pain, “you still managed to beat 19 other girls, making it to third. You’ll do fine.” This time, it was the other giving the grin for her pleasure of purposely torturing Maki.

Both the girls arrived behind the group and ignored their Coach explaining what to do. Instead, they had their own conversation, well more like Hitomi talked, and Gotou nodded while trying to stay a live.

Ignoring Maki rudely leaning on her, she continued her interrogation, “…where’d you go that you had to run so fast? You weren’t setting up a new prank… were you? Because you know how much I hate those damn snakes from last time!”

Maki brushed her question away lazily, “No, no, not at all. I had to run to the main building real quick to-” She was cut off when she heard her name coming from the front.

“Gotou! Damn where is that girl?” Maki pushed herself off of Hitomi and looked up at her coach.

“Yes coach?” she tippy toed and answered back, hoping whatever this was, it wasn’t going to cause her misery.

“Get your ass up here; I’ve been looking for someone to give the class a real example of what a real standing long jump is supposed to be!”

Gotou looked wide eyed from the strip of sand and back to the coach, not prepared for the hell she as about to partake it. Letting her over dramatic side get a hold of her, she threw her hand onto Hitomi’s shoulder, “Yossui, if I don’t make it, I want you to keep my toy collection. Don’t throw those out, they were expensive.”

Knowing exactly what kind of toys her sick friend was speaking of, she modeled a grotesque expression as her brain quickly scanned the images of the time she went out of her way to clean Maki’s side of the room. After that experience, she could have cared less if Maki started growing mold on her wall.

After hearing what she had a feeling of coming, she fell back and rolled her eyes to the back of her head, using the first tactic she could think of before going up. Only then for it to be ruined by her ‘best friend’. She peaked her eyes open as she was helped back on two feet and was patted by Hitomi.

Dammit, she knows what I’m trying to do. Wipe that stupid smile off! Hitomi gave her the final push and gave her a thumbs up.

“Yeah Maki, show me how it’s done!” Yossui screamed between to hands as Maki took the painful walk towards the front. The rest of the girls started to cheer for the unfolding show; this even attracted the attention of the classes near by as well. She really knew how to turn heads.

Gotou winced at what she heard. “Dammit! I knew it…” Finally reaching her coach, she turned from the crowd behind her and whispered into his ear, “Coach, come on, do I really have to? I don’t want to have to make a show, haha, you know me, never wanting to make a scene.” Not only was her laugh fake, so was her excuse. “Why doesn’t Yoshizawa do it? She’s as good and…”

“Nonsense, Gotou! You topped it last year, you’ll do it again, now get up there and show ‘em how it’s done with your 189! And hurry it up, you’re wasting time.” Lovely inspiration from her coach. Again, she received an over friendly smack on the back, which made her trip forward.

Staring at the narrow sand road before her, she looked down at her weak and overworked legs. Realizing that they started to tremble, it was definitely not a good choice to use her legs so much earlier.

Alright, all I have to do is jump this stupid thing, at least at my height. I can do that, right? Of course I can! I’ve done a length almost twice my height! You can do this, you can still do this, Maki.

She looked back once more at the crowd forming around her test area. One of her peers was in such suspense; her mouth was left open and drooled on the girl she was standing over. She gave them a confident smile, hoping for the best in herself before turning back to the sand strip.

Come on, just 160 centimeters…… JUMP!

…The cheers she hoped for never came. Slowly opening her eyes to first look at where she landed below, then at the crowd who looked dumbfounded. She searched for Yossui’s face who shook her head shamefully. Then she turned around and realized just how near she was from the starting point.

The coach quickly measured the distance, hoping his eyes were just deceiving him. “One… one hundred and two centimeters.” Gotou saw the shame in her coach’s face as he shook his head. “Yoshizawa! Get over here, and don’t give me a half assed one, I want a real jump.” He turned back at the failure, “Get over there, you failed. Tsk, didn’t even reach your height.”

Now it was time for Yossui’s turn to shine, time for her fans to get crazy. Some screaming and cheering was heard in the backround, even some stares from other classes. From the corner of her eye, she could see Maki practically collapsing onto her tush to rest.

“Pfft, show off.” To the left of Yossui’s class was the Box Dash Vault test. Probably one of the most dangerous vaults, but that didn’t matter to the school.

She heard the cheers from her neighboring class as she turned her attention back to stretching. “One hundred and ninety! That’s a new record, congratulations Yoshizawa!” Upon hearing this, she put on a mocking face and repeated the coach’s words with a sarcastic tone. She was disgusted at the news and praise.

Rika jumped when she felt a hand land on her shoulder, she immediately stopped her mocking, and turned around, ready to smack the person. It was a good thing she had fast reflexes- it was her coach.

“Ishikawa, I’ve been calling you, it’s your turn now. Are you ready?” Her coach was quite the opposite of Hitomi and Maki’s. He was more soft spoken and didn’t expect more than what was capable of.

Embarrassed that she might have been caught with a weird face and mocking someone, she replied softly, “Yes, I’m ready.”

“Good, you’ll be the last one if you can pull off thirteen, so do your best, okay?” And with that, he took his hand back and let her walk off to the starting point.

With a last crack at the neck, Rika poised herself to run. When the whistle blew, she dashed between the lines, and as if in synch, she threw her arms up and jumped with one leg. She then put her legs together while pushing herself off the horse. Touching the ground with one foot again, she ran past the end mark.

Immediately after catching her breath, she received cheers from her classmates. It was rare for her to hear this sound. She knew she was the athletic type, but she hadn’t heard such cheers since middle school. It was… refreshing.

“Yoshizawa Hitomi, oi! Are you there? Yossui, Yossssuuuiii?”

“Whoa! Huh, what?” Hitomi shook her head and cleared her thoughts. She was so entranced by the scene taking place at the other class. “Did you see that?”

Maki looked at the direction she was facing before interrupting her. All she saw was a group of girls surrounding the coach and another girl. “See what?” she questioned.

“N…Nothing. Let’s go, I think we have the next test to do.”

“Actually, class is about to end, it’s time to hit the showers. You ready?”

The two walked back together slowly, only because Hitomi still had something in her mind too distracting for her to walk any faster. But it wasn’t like Maki mind, her legs were killing her, and she was drained.

“Hey, Gotou likes them young, Gotou likes them old, Gotou likes them tall, she even likes them small. Gotou loves them all.” Maki tried proving her point that she didn’t always just go for the younger and innocent type. But it did her no good; she still received scoffs from some of the girls, and even laughs.

After spending too much time showering and changing back into uniform, Gotou had probably made Yossui late for her next class.

“Are you ready yet?” This time, it was Hitomi whining to Maki. Not only would this be her last late before she earned herself an hour’s worth of detention, but staying in the locker room full of moist hair was turning her hair into frizz.

“Yeah, yeah, let’s go.”

The two of them walked towards the exit, it would have been a silent walk before Hitomi started again.

“Okay, this is the last time I’ll ask you. Were you able to-”
“I told y- OH SHIT! Stay still until I tell you to move.” Maki quickly hid behind the taller, hoping to go unnoticed by a certain predator around the corner, quickly skipping her way towards their direction.

Hitomi, being the completely oblivious person she was, turned and ruined her hideout. “Huh? Oh…” She changed her tone from confused to comprehending as Takahashi neared and walked up to Maki, pinning her against the walls next to the lockers.

Backing up about three feet away, she watched her friend freeze by a single touch of Takahashi’s hand

Takahashi had the upper hand in this one, as she did with all the others. “Gotou-senpai, I can’t wait for our date tonight, can you? I’m really excited.” Her knee kept getting further and further up between Gotou’s quivering legs. A seductive smile was creased between her lips. From the close distance between their faces, it almost looked as if she was daring enough to kiss Maki. Especially when her face just kept getting closer and closer.

Maki, seeing this, immediately shut her eyes tight, waiting for the touch of the other’s poisonous lips.

Hitomi tried to contain herself as she stepped aside. The sight was almost too much for her. Seeing her over confident friend, whimper at the face of her destruction was something she didn’t see often. Though, she had a feeling that she wouldn’t be missing this view soon…

Holy crap, is she actually going to…kiss her…?

Takahashi’s lips neared her face, and just when the foreseen climax was about to begin, she diverted Maki’s lips and neared her ear. “I hope you’ll enjoy.”

And with that, Takahashi was satisfied enough to take one last look at her date and smile. Afterwards, she happily skipped back where she came from, ignoring her crowd, Yoshizawa and the rest of the P.E. class that were late as well.

Gotou, still clawing at the wall from agony, waited a bit before speaking. “Is she gone yet?”

“Well, do you feel her hot breath over you?” Hitomi snorted a little, still trying to hold in her laughter.

Not answering back, She volunteered to peeked through one eye first, looking out for any signs of her devil, then opened both. When she realized her coast was clear, she released a sigh she had been holding.

Immediately, taking her shot at Gotou, Hitomi burst into laughter. She laughed so much, she had to lean over Maki’s shoulder, and in turn, she received her death glares. Maki, clearly pissed, picked Hitomi’s hand up like trash and threw it down.

“Haha, laugh now, but we all know you’re only jealous that I get the girls.”

“Yeah, the crazy ones!” As soon as her laugh started to subside, she cleared her throat and started again, “Well, looks like you failed another favor again.”

Ready to turn around now, Maki had stopped Hitomi, “Ah yeah, here you go.” She smacked the file full of papers onto Hitomi’s stomach, knocking the wind out of her.

“Huh,” confused at first, and then looking at its contents, “GEEZ, I told you to get me a picture, not her whole life story!

A response was not made for Maki was already halfway down the hallway, walking coolly as she left her friend intentionally stunned. As she walked on down, she lazily waved back to her without turning around, she knew she’d be thanked later. Whether it was from her, or Miki.

DAMN. I just realized this probably counts as another filler. does it? Yeah, it probably is. damn, sorry about that.
Well, wait. If you think about it, you do learn more about the characters, and some of their athletic ability comes into play in the soon chapters (during/soon after dates). There’s also insight on Rika, and feature stuff dealing with her athletics. Not only that, but you get more fuel for predictions. So that helps... =____=
I guess I at least owe you a preview of the next chapter (for being so lame):
Back to Rika and Miki. But more over, mostly Miki, then more of her pissing Rika off. :) I'll try to have this by the end of the weekend or mid week. Depending on how long I will make it- since it will be the last scene before the REAL stuff- and how I choose to spend my free time again ^_^;

YEAH YEAH an update!!! Can't believe I missed the previous one. But that means 2 chapters to read  ;)
Oh so Rika is good at sports. That explains why Yossi took notice. Does that mean Rika and Miki will fall out when she finds out? And Ai is hilarious. Somehow I can imagine her being like this though it's so out of character.
I'm waiting impatently for this so I hope you don't get distracted  ;D

Oh Gocchin!  :D Too bad she didn't jump that far.

Heh, so Yocchan's the one who's showing interest first, huh? Wonder how she's going to woo Rika, seeing as she's now caught hold of Yossie's attention.  :)

YEAH AI!  I'm looking forward to more Miki & Rika teasing.

HAHAHA thats funny.

YAY Yossi noticed Rika! I wonder who's file Maki gave Yossi... Miki's? or someone else.. or better yet Rika's! Even if its a filter yet again, it was entertaining! lol Yossi x Maki moments were hilarious as usual and theres the other characters making an appearence like Rika and Ai. And DAMN Ai -chan.... its starting to give me the creeps, and I could totally picture Maki's reaction after Ai-chan left which made me really LOL!

Yay for my nick being in there!  Even if it is in reference to the actual thing!  That still rocks!   :hee:

Maki's getting out of practice, huh?  Her antics crack me up though, so it's all good.  I almost felt bad for her when Creepy-Stalker-Ai found her.  Ai really brought out the creepyness in this chapter.

It looks like Yossui's interest has been piqued by Rika.  I've had my Ishiyoshi speculation for a while now, but I've come up with another.  They may just become good friends and Rika could help nudge along the YoMiki.  Anything could happen!

Can't wait for the next chapter!

._.;  It's been a while. Excuse my absence for over two weeks XD I know I said I'd post the chapter soon, but my teachers decided to be asses, and well... you know the routine.

Anyway, since I figured that the longer I take to write, the more I get lost in my own thoughts and my notes (I'm SO FREAKING messy). So I decided to make a little summary in the time being. I can't promise anything on the next chapter, since it's still the beginning of the week and I just finished writing the opening (and sort of dwelling on that...).

SUMMARY:
In Musume High, there's two types of girls; the athletes and the girl lovers.
In a High school academy centered around sports (and still doing far well with academics), Ishikawa Rika finds her way though her high school life with Fujimoto Miki -the volley ball captain- to keep her company. Although they have total different mind sets, these two still tend to get along well and somehow survive being roommates. But I guess someway through Middle school, they figured something out.
Rika is the role model student; making nice with her peers and always doing her assignments, doing excellent in academics and was recently found to excel in sports as well. Miki on the other hand, is the ultimate slacker, money talker, and sneaky student. How these two get along is still unknown.

Switch the picture to the popular scene now. Gotou Maki, the student council President, and former Sub-Captain of the soccer team is Yoshizawa Hitomi's sneaky little friend. Whatever Maki is thinking, it always seems to be the least clear to Hitomi. The ever narcissistic playa makes the whole school scream with just one wink- and she's well aware of it. Hitomi, never wanting attention, tries to go through school one step at a time, but finds it hard with a friend like Gotou; getting what she never wanted. This Vice President also happens to be the Captain of the top female soccer team and sees no reason for why she had her share of fan girls as well. Being oblivious is her thing. Having access to school files, knowing everyone and being known, with a touch of schemes, and you've got yourself an unpredictable match.

After a Valentines Day auctioning of the two, Takahashi Ai finds her claim on the reluctant Maki, and Miki bids the highest price of 12,000 Yen for a one night date with Hitomi. As the day drags by, many occurrences have happened. Hitomi's attention was caught, Maki was harassed yet again by Ai, Miki gets a mysterious phone call, and Rika is tricked into reluctantly picking up after Miki(again). What else could go wrong?

I will not give up on this story! I'm gonna keep writing and get over this stupid stage of uncertainty and being busy. I really need to be more organized. I get a head ache just by thinking of my mess!

Ah, thanks for the summary! I rather like how it's Hitomi who's caught up with Rika, rather than the other way around.

PT. 11

Sorry, I couldn’t make it after practice. The Coach had me running laps and going over some of our next plays for being late this morning. Is lunch time okay?

Miki hit the send button on her cell phone and watched the animation of the envelope spinning in a circle, then closing it after “Message Sent” appeared. She took another long gulp of air, hoping that whoever that had called her earlier, would be okay with these change of plans.

The captain of the volleyball team walked out into the quiet hallway, gripping her phone inside her vest pockets. Well, almost quiet. The morning was beginning and a few of the clubs were already starting their meetings as well. She ignored a girl running down the hall with tears in her eyes while clutching what seemed to be a Valentines present. Around this time, one could find Miki walking towards the vending machine after practice for a snack. And so, she started to make her way to the vending machines as usual, but that was before she felt the vibration in her hand. She wasn’t expecting such a quick reply, giving that morning had just began; meaning that people were usually busy with early clubs or getting ready for class.

Finding a spot between lockers, Miki parked herself against the cool wall and pulled her right hand out of her vest pocket. She ignored the few girls that walked passed her and giggled as they walked by. Normally, she’d look up and see if that giggling was because of her (always conscious), but knowing that whoever she had been communicating with since morning was unknown to her, she decided to not give a rat’s ass at the moment.

That’s fine. Just make sure it’s just you though, I want to talk in private. I’ll be up there soon after the first fifteen minutes.

Miki thought for a moment, thinking of the right words to say. Pausing to think was not common for her. Usually, she’d be the first one to speak her mind and comment, rude or not. Her mouth moved faster than her thoughts, matching the fast life she liked having. But this time, even taking the time to think didn’t help her. In fact, it felt weird; she never had this much time to think on something intentionally.

Sure thing, I’ll see you then.

That was all she could think of during her thoughts. She was beginning to think that maybe it was better if she didn’t think twice about matters again. Not only did it waste time and was completely unusual for her, but it took too much energy.

Ishikawa Rika sat in her math class, watching her school mates around her. Every one was cramming for their next chapter test, given to them by one of the toughest teachers. Well, every one but Rika that is.

Maybe being smart did have its downside. Each passing second added to her mounting boredom. She tried thinking of what else she had to do for the week, hoping to have a head start to pass time. Rika threw her upper body forward on top of her school bag which sat on top of her cold wooden desk. Going through her mental list made her even more depressed after realizing that she had done everything days before, now leaving her nothing. She started to whine silently, sort of shaking in her seat to keep herself alive, but stopped as soon as she felt an object landing on her lap.

“Eh,” Rika said softly to herself. “How’d this get in here?” She opened the hand sized notebook, filled with her deepest thoughts. Not once had she ever taken her diary outside the comforts of her dorm, but now here she sat with it in her hands.

Hmm… must’ve shoved it in my bag after rushing out this morning. She started to think of the reasons why should be so careless. Oh, that’s right, lazy Miki left me in a hurry with the cleaning again. She rolled her eyes at the thought, still upset about how rushed she felt just to make it to class on time this morning.

Rika contemplated on what to do next. She could open her diary here, read its contents for fun; reminiscing on her thoughts she had days, weeks, even months before today. But that would also mean a possibility of one of her peers peeking over and announcing to the class that she had a diary after stuffing her nosey self in Rika’s privacy.

With a slow sigh, Rika looked around the room, making sure her friends and peers were doing their work. If Rika was going to risk humiliation of her diary being read aloud, she’d at least be smart about it and take precautions.

Slowly but surely, Rika opened the pages of her most private belonging. Not even her roommate has dared to read it (or at least be caught if she did ever sneak a peek) and she sure as hell wasn’t about to let this one be the first- especially in a room full of girls. Girls, that at any given moment would backstab her with her private information. Not that they’d do it intentionally (for Rika has never had a problem with any other girl before) but every girl, no matter how innocent, would use or say anything in a moment of heat.

She skimmed the pages, hoping to find something interesting. Nothing worth taking her time to really read was found yet. There wasn’t much to mention really, just daily routines and assignments. But there was still hope to her boring life.

After turning to the next page, Rika’s attention was caught. Now reading slower than a skim, she carefully read each word. It must’ve been another one of those days where she was feeling lonely again when she wrote this entry. Talking about thoughts on the future, being unsure as she is now, that’s all she had written on that page. She realized just how much her life hasn’t changed. In fact, life for her has been the same since she’s entered the school. Her uncertainty about the future still remained and yet, she never made plans to ever change that.

Rika wasn’t only unsure about life, colleges, family planning, and careers. That was too distant for her. But what remained still undetermined to her was her loveless love life. If she could, she’d make the decision just as quick as Miki did- but that’d be too irrational for Rika’s ‘well organized and planned out life’ everyone seemed to label her with. But it just wasn’t so easy to pick and choose, things like these just seemed better to think about seriously rather than just ‘going with the flow’ as Miki would like to do.

I’m just still unsure is all.

Rika closed her diary, leaving her finger inside as a bookmark. She made one last groan, and hoped for lunch to hurry and make it’s way as she lay her head on the desk, drifting to a light slumber.

The awaited bell rang for the student lunch period. Miki grabbed her belongings and tried to remind herself of what she had to do, then mentally told herself just to keep cool. Doing both at the same time resulted to nothing as Miki became nervous as she kept reminding herself of the girl she made plans of talking to.

Fifteen minutes. She said fifteen minutes.

Miki looked around her as she stopped in front of the cafeteria doors. Contemplating on whether to go inside and find Rika; then telling her everything that’s happened, or buying a quick snack before her thirty minute lunch break ended.

Of course, being the indecisive person she was, it took her about ten minutes to get her walking off to the vending machines at her right. As she arrived, she noticed the long line of waiting girls, conversing about what didn’t matter. She took another sigh, and decided to wait in line anyway, despite its length. It’s not like she had anything better to do in five minutes. Plus, if she was lucky, she’d reach the vending machine before her time was up.

But as expected, luck just wasn’t on her side. Miki waited impatiently, shifting her weight from side to side, tapping the front end of her toes on the floor, and making aggravated sounds.

Ugh, finally. Just two more.

Just to make sure, Miki took a glimpse of her wrist watch. As she inched closer to her snack, the minute turned to her mark. Her hunger was hard to fight, making her urge to meet the mysterious waiter all the more unpleasant.

It’s either now, or never. God, I’m so hungry!

Despite her empty stomach, her last meal being her breakfast with Rika, Miki ran through the building crowd at the vending machine, past the lines in the cafeteria (taking a short cut), then ran up the hallway seven stairs. All this sprinting through the high school on an empty stomach made her head giddy from the rush and lack of air. Being that Miki was a sprinter, not an endurance runner.

Accumulating her breathe again, Miki straightened her appearance. She didn’t want to make the mistake of rushing through the door and completely scarring the girl, or making an embarrassment of herself. Instead, Miki took her time to ready herself. With another gulp of air, Miki cautiously pushed through the single door that led onto the rooftop of her high school academy.

Being that Miki was right handed; her first glance to the right sort of worried her. Expecting to see someone there, her mysterious caller, she saw no one at all- only the mid afternoon sun and the rest of the city bellow. Just for assurance, she turned to her left, and lo and behold, there was a figure that stood over the railings, looking below at the landscaping of the school.

As the door clicked shut behind Miki, the girl seemed to notice another’s presence. But yet, she didn’t turn around at first. Her first reaction was to lower her gaze, probably focusing herself before her business was laid out.
She cleared her throat and turned around, facing who she had summoned at this moment.

“Uh, I hope you haven’t been waiting a long time, have you?” For some odd reason, that came out more nervous than intended (if it was ever intended at all) from Miki.

It took a while for the dark haired girl to reply. But never the less, a smile crept along her lips, it was hard to decipher if it was intended to friendly and sweet, or coded with a devilish sense of intent that Miki had arrived. It startled Miki at first, as she was expecting a reply, not an expression.

Before she could speak again, the other beat her to it. “No, not at all. I said fifteen minutes after the bell, right? You’re on time.”

The still unnamed girl closed the gap between them and as she stopped, she bowed her head down slightly. Miki expected some sort of introduction, but it didn’t come. Instead, she received what seemed to be a form of gratitude. But Miki hadn’t done anything exceptionally grateful. For one thing, she was actually close to ten minutes late (Miki’s bags slowing her running down) and she still didn’t see her purpose with this girl.

To Miki’s surprise, she wasn’t agitated. Normally, awkward silences like this drove her mad, concluding it as a waste of time. Instead, she remained calm herself. Miki, a bit slow on the reaction side, bowed her head slight forward as well. Still no reaction or start of formal conversation yet, she saw this as an opportunity to start. “I’m Fujimo-”

“I know who you are.” The other said audibly, almost emotionless at that.

Did…did she just stop me while I… was ta-talking?

Miki’s eyebrow became to twitch. She couldn’t tell if this rising agitation was do to her building hunger or this awkward silence accompanied by a stifling air.

“Then…”

“I’m sorry, forgive me. I’m still unsure of how I should start; sorta suck at introductions.” Again, a smile formed on her lips, this time a friendlier smile.

What is up with this girl?

“Heh, no, it’s fine. I know what you mean, hate introducing myself too.” Miki lied to the other, while scratching the rear of her neck subconsciously. Anything to get this conversation moving.

“Listen,” this time, the tone of the other seemed a bit different from before, it seemed firmed and ready to cut to the chase, “you probably have no idea who I am. Most of the athletes here never do.” Miki tried to open her mouth, to say something nice to the other. “But,” she kept talking before Miki could open her mouth, “I know enough about you.”

Once Miki recognized the pause, she started her reply “Well, just how much do you know of me and how?” Miki, now too intrigued by the sudden change in the girl before her- first coming off unusual and now ten notches up of confidence- forgot about her urge to end the meeting and return to the vending machines again.

“I know you’re with Yoshizawa.”

“Big deal,” Miki raised her eye brow, “the whole school knows that.”

“That’s not the point though.” The other girl responded. Before finishing her statement, she began inching toward Miki again. “The point is, I want you.” There, so this is what this whole ordeal was about.

“Excuse me?” Miki, never afraid of a little challenge of dominance, showed no hint of fear or real confusion.

“I…I want you and me to go out today.”

Miki’s brow raised even higher now, this time she really was confused. “We… just met.”

Somehow, Miki was pinned against the railing facing the city. How she was backed that far was now irrelevant. Though Miki’s interest was sparked now by this unusual and mysterious girl in front of her, she couldn’t help but feel a bit of uncertainty. As if this was all just a cover up, a hoax. It just intrigued Miki all the more that this girl, new to her at that, would be willing to be so daring, so bold. Maybe it was a bit too interesting….

There was something about this girl. Something irritatingly magnetic. Something Miki just needed let her gullible self figure out.

Clearly, there was a lot more to talk about.

Miki found herself out of her daze and walked through the cafeteria. At first, it was still unclear who or what she was searching for. But once she saw Rika, the wires connected again.

“Rika!” Miki shouted out from a distance, hoping to get her attention so she could stop helping Yui out with another one of their assignments.

As she neared Rika’s place in the cafeteria, Miki noticed Rika began to rush through her explanation so she could see what she was needed for. Miki began to jog to her now, knowing in the back of her mind that lunch was ending and their next period was one that they were not allowed to talk in, especially someone as harsh as their teacher.

“What’s up Miki?” Rika asked, almost concerned for Miki wasn’t looking her usual self.

“I need to ask you-“ the bell had cut her short of what she needed to say.

Rika, never wanting to be late, and always having something to attend to before class, apologized, “I’m sorry Miki, you know how it is. I’ll talk to you later at the dorms, alright?” Rika smiled and went on her way to the other side of the cafeteria to exit.

Oh, Miki was sure Rika would do all the talking. For the whole day, that she was sure of.

I don't know what to say. sorry for the delay. hope you liked it, it's a blur to me right now  :-\
