wtf are they thinking?
sometimes I just want to know them so I can slap them in their face to make them play harder and better.

Quote from: Jeff Van Gundy
``We didn't stop them,'' Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy said. ``They played last night. We're humble enough, at least I am, to understand every time you win you don't have to beat your chest like you're a resident genius. We were fortunate to win.''

Quote from: Tracy McGrady
``We've got to play better, man, we've got to play better,'' said Tracy McGrady, who scored 34 points. ``Once they put that pressure on us, we kind of folded a little bit, and thank God we had a cushion.''

They got really really lucky last night.

Yea...Spurs won....by one fucking point   Dam LA teams; they all suck.

Denver is pretty hot right now. Spurs would have to play them in the playoff right now. I think Denver would win.

I'm thinking Indiana can probably move up to #4 and New Jersey squeaks in as Cleveland goes for a slide. so I say:

3. Boston
4. Indiana
5. Chicago
6. Washington
7. New Jersey
8. Philly

ha!  :halo:

If the Cavs don't make the playoffs I'm personally going to yours and ahcheungape's houses and beat the crap out of both of you, and then set fire to all of your Rika merchandise.  :)

No flavor of the month this time at the Compound.

Watching yesterday's games...Shaq is most def MVP. He made no-namers like Damon Jones into a 3 point threat and Udonis Haslem this high FG% 4. Steve Nash had respectable stars in Marian, Stoudamire and Q.

No question it'll be close, Nash has them running and gunning for so long, but will it work against dirty, scrappy, elbow-in-groin defenses like San Antonio and Detroit? It's that whole Mavs-Kings philosophy - score em to death.

and check out Yao getting a facial:

must see MAUNUTE BOL MIX!!

OH NOOOOOOOO!! Don't throw a chair at me!! Or post your pix of Miki and a bat. :P

Face it. Rome is right. LBJ is not gonna stick around in this mess that Cleveland's new owners are conjuring up. At least the Lakers have a track record of winning titles.

Quote from: NBA Insider @ CBS Sportsline

Let me be one of the first to inform you that LeBron James might be leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers via free agency after the 2006-07 season -- if not sooner.
James is not happy with new Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, who didn't even think to ask James for his input before Gilbert fired coach Paul Silas last month. When it comes to key personnel decisions, Gilbert has apparently treated James as if he's no better than the 12th man on his team.

With rumors swirling about the possible firing of Cavs GM Jim Paxson, James finally voiced his frustrations Wednesday after the Cavs lost to Indiana 98-77. And King James was not a happy camper.

"We lost our coach; we get new players; we get new ownership, and now Pax might be getting fired," James said. "It's been difficult."

Besides the Cavs losing 16 of their past 23 games, James was really ticked off when starting point guard Jeff McInnis recently was benched -- with no explanation. McInnis was averaging 15 points and five assists, and the offense was free of warts when he was in the lineup.

"We stopped playing our No. 1 point guard for no reason, and that messed up some chemistry," James said. "He sat for five or six games and, as a team, we didn't know why.

"We're losing games, and there's not a reason. There was never a reason why Jeff wasn't playing. We were concerned because he is one of our brothers, one of our teammates, and we never got an explanation."

To make matters worse, the Cavs once had a firm grip on the Eastern Conference's No. 4 playoff seed. Now they're in danger of missing the playoffs -- just like last year, when they lost 11 of their final 15 games in James' rookie season.

When NBA types talk about James, he's always linked with Denver's Carmelo Anthony and Miami's Dwyane Wade. James was the top pick of the 2003 draft, Anthony third and Wade fifth.

While James has collected all of the individual accolades and has been the NBA's top drawing card, Anthony and Wade will be in the playoffs later this month for the second consecutive season. This, too, bothers James.

For all of James' glory, the Cavs have become laughable since Gilbert took over. In fact, during the late stages of Wednesday's loss to the Pacers, James and several teammates were spotted laughing on the bench.

That's not a good sign if you're a Cavs fan. But it's a good sign if you're a general manager from one of the other 29 NBA teams.

James won three consecutive high school state championships before coming to the NBA. Winning is in his blood. So, too, is stability.

Gilbert would be wise to stabilize his franchise quickly before James demands a trade.

He is under contract with the Cavs for another two seasons. But after that, you can bet Dallas, New York, Sacramento and the LAKERS, among others, will be vying for James' services.

Gilbert should be applauded for wanting to bring in his own people to run his show. By the same token, he must learn that he has to include a player of James' caliber on critical personnel moves.

Gilbert turned Quicken Loans into one of the top mortgage companies in the United States. He then purchased the Cavs for $375 million. But if James leaves, Gilbert will have mortgaged the future of a franchise that, without James, wouldn't be worth two cents
.

Just let them, or those Amare fans got nothing to show.

When Nash retire at Amare's prime, ppl will know what an overrated PF he is.  Just a freaking dunking machine, no more; just like how Nash almost help Amare to win the slam dunk contest with his soccer skills.

Credit to Indiana big man Jermaine O'Neal for saying what a lot of people in the league are thinking but wouldn’t dare say. That racism might have something to do with David Stern’s proposed age limit. There could be something to that. Why does the league need an age limit?

The last two rookies of the year have were drafted straight out of high school. No one cares when players leave high school and go directly to the pros in baseball, golf and tennis, why should the NBA be any different. What, a guy is ready to put his life on the line and defend his country at 18, but he’s not ready to shoot three pointers until he’s 20. That makes no sense at all. O’Neal is right.

What do you guys think of this issue that J. O'Neal brought up? It all goes to the GM's and owners who allow for this to happen. Trying to prevent each other from getting the next Kobe or KG. I agree though, that when you take a look at all the HS kids drafted, they're black. And most are from poor situations who need the NBA contract to help their families. Baseball, hockey is different - they can be career minor leaguers because the rosters are larger. NBA it's 12 man, sometimes 8 man rotations any given night. And the onus all lies on David Stern now to make a statement or we'll keep wondering. :?

i think its 50/50. if HS kids go to collage, they can be more developed and more ready to go to pro.  there wont be alot of amare and lebron that can come straight out from HS and make a deep impact in the NBA. J.O'NEAL, T-MAC took awhile before entering their prime. imagine if they had been in a collage, they might had an impact to NBA right away.

i certainly think nowadays, nba doesnt even come close to the level during the 90s.

word. shit you look at college players who can't even fuckin make a free throw. enough said!! how many can dominate like Moses Malone? some high school rookies are just thrown into a starting role like the fuckin Orlandos and Clevelands and other loser franchises.

ah well...fuckin East 7-8 seeds are tighter than fuckin Takahashi's pussy!!

Miami loses to Philly (D-Wade with 48   ) and Cleveland loses to the Knicks. And you know Vince is gonna dominate tmr against the Raptors. :thumbsup

but all that doesn't beat Kobe's quote of the day..when asked yesterday if he had a problem finishing behind the Clippers. Kobe responded by asking the questioner, “What do you want, a cookie?”

even when he tries to be funny like Shaq he is seen as an asshole
