If we are gonna talk about being salty, if OKC wins the title this year, I will probably not see sunlight for three weeks. Being a Seattle Sonics fan, I'm probably gonna be a mix of anger and sadness.
Oh, if OKC does win, and they beat Wade and the Heat to do it (Wade is my favorite player in the league), that would be something fierce.
I'm gonna go work on my tan.
I'm happy for Lebron. Not only because he finally has that ring, but how he got it. How he scored 40 points and 18 rebounds when Miami was down 2-1 against Indiana. Game 6 against Boston, in Boston is going to be remembered and talk about for years, especially now when he won it all. Game 2 in the Finals in OKC when he went 12 for 12 at the free throw line, and hit that bank shot near the end of that game. Game 4 with the leg cramps, and the triple double in game 5 to clinch it. The question from "If" he will win one changed to "How many?" As a basketball fan, I'm excited to see that answer.
Also about legacy, I have to talk about Mr. Wade. Now with two titles, this had to mean something for his all-time credentials. Back in 06, he was the young guy leading the squad. He was surrounded with vets like Shaq, Gary Payton, and Alonzo Mourning. But he was given the keys and he drove them to a title. Now, 6 years later, he subjugated (love that word) himself to Lebron. That nets him ring number 2. Doesn't that matter? Going from alpha dog in the first title run to beta dog (beta dog does sound weird) for this second title run. It shouldn't be surprising, either. Look at the 2008 redeem team. Wade came off the bench, and flourished for that team. Okay, maybe he couldn't let go fully back in 2011 to Lebron. But, he eventually did. I hope in the future, when basketball nerds look at Dwyane Wade's career, I hope they'll recognize that.
On the other side, how scary will OKC be next year and seasons to come? History tells us that players and teams have to suffer before they succeed. MJ was beat by the Bad Boy Pistons. There are exceptions to that like Magic winning as a rookie, but then in 1984 he lost to the Celtics. Even he had to go through some shit, even after he had won. Kobe & Pau Gasol were beat in 08 by the Celtics, then went back to back. Last year, the Heat lost, then come back to win it this year. If OKC got this far, at their young age, it's scary to think how good they will be.
Shit, after talking about OKC, I just fell back into being bitter about the Sonics. Well, if and when that day comes that OKC is holding up a trophy, ill write another long ass post about how I along with all of Seattle is missing out. But until then, Ill be calling some people screaming
2 RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
