LFL Lingerie Football League - Music by Five Stone - San Diego Seduction tryouts

The league is scheduled to run from September 4, 2009 to January 29, 2010, with one game each Friday. Teams play one game against each other team in their conference; 2 games are at home and 2 games are on the road. The top two teams in each conference will meet in playoff games on February 5th in Miami, and the winners will go on to play in Lingerie Bowl VII on February 7th.

Lingerie football spreads to five more Canadian cities

Are you ready for some lingerie ball?

The Lingerie Football League's ambitious plans for global expansion will see the scantily-clad squads of gridiron chicks battle it out in Calgary.

On Wednesday, league officials announced the awarding of market rights to Calgary and four other Canadian cities in time for the inaugural season of LFL Canada, set to debut in the fall of 2012.

Vancouver, Edmonton, Quebec City and Montreal were also awarded market rights.

The seven-on-seven tackle football game featuring helmeted women donning pads and little else has been playing to mixed reaction in the U.S., where critics have decried the sport as a sexist spectacle.

Mitchell Mortaza, the league's founder and chairman, said he expects similar reaction in the new markets, but hopes the game will speak for itself.

"I can sit here on the phone and talk until I'm blue in the face about how much of a real sport this is, but the truth of it is until your readers go out and see the first game in Calgary they're going to have misconceptions about what this is," Mortaza said.

That is expected to happen in 2012 following a round of mini-camps and tryouts beginning in the spring.

The Canadian league is projected to play a twelve-week season, culminating in the first Canadian Lingerie Bowl, to be held on the eve of the 2012 Grey Cup, November 24, 2012, in Toronto.
