anime/manga/books you think should be made into a dorama or movie?
N/A. I don't do anime.
What dorama got you into dorama?
Ashita ga Arukara, starring Imai Miki, Sendo Nobuko and Fukuyama Masaharu in his TV debut. My gf at the time forced me to watch that show with her. I was stubborn at first but was sucked into the melodrama easily. I ended up buying the theme song, performed by Imai (PIECE OF MY WISH) and a few years down the road got into J-pop too.
Do you mostly watch Asian movies?
I guess. Honolulu has a good film festival and I've been fortunate enough to see good movies from all over (mostly Japan). In the last 12 months I saw: Azumi, Cutey Honey, Tetsujin #28, Kamikaze Girls... I missed the last Godzilla film, unfortunately. Heck, Battle Royale was screened here when it was new.
If so, is there a certain movie (or movies) that got you into the asian movie scene?
Hawaii used to have a lot of ethnic movie houses here before the multiplex rot took over. I remember seeing Seven Samurai at one of these theaters for a buck-fifty. An amazing experience that really turned me onto J-stuff in general.
