This is an official memorial thread for Korean singer U-Nee who died by her own hand on Sunday 21st January 2007.

There is a thread about her death here. THIS THREAD YOU ARE IN is intended to be a positive memorial to her memory; please keep discussion about her death in the thread for that subject. Brief background:
U-Nee (alternately U;Nee and Yuni) was a Korean actress and singer, real name Heo Yoon and alternate stage name Lee Hye-Ryeon (이혜련, 李慧蓮). She had released two albums, in 2003 and 2006, and was about to release her third, Honey, on February 1, 2007. She had also had various Korean television and movie roles dating back to 1996 when she was only 15.

Just knew about it at this morning. Feel sad to see a beautiful talent just left like that...Over these few years, we always heard that some celebrities from Korean attempted to suicide...I wonder why....

This is bad news...I dont know much about the girl but from what I've read somewhere, they were speculating her death was related to depression of her bad album sales and criticism of her sexy image. This had to happen just before her upcoming album.

RIP U-Nee...the press can be so cruel. Forget what people say about you, her sexy image was what caught my eye on top of her sweet face.
