And I have a good feeling about this one, even just for now. H!P has been releasing really great songs lately-- I loved Onna ni Sachi Are, C-ute's new single sounds awesome, so, here's hoping for a great new Berryz single!

Well, it's almost qarantined big part for Risako, Miya, Momoko and Yurina. (In order)
But I do hope it's a single where everyone is involved! Or alteast groupparts. Kokuhaku was just sad for Chinami!

But as said before, It's berryz so I'm satisfied as long as no one graduates or they get new members. ;)

There is a rumor on 2ch that the B-side of the single will be a cover of a song from Makise Riho called "Miracle Love". It would be a great early 90's idol ballad.
In the same rumored info the arranger for Tsukiatteiru no ni Kataomoi is Okubo Kaoru who arranged the following H!P songs:

I'd like to think (in case this was true) that because b-side would be a ballad, a-side would not. Who'd pull-off three ballads in a row? Can Berryz fanbase handle that? On one hand, Berryz fanbase seems to be pretty loyal to their releases. On the other hand, again: 3 ballads in a row! :-\ if it sounds like LU LU LU, I wouldn't mind.

Koisuru angel hearts/Miss Love Tantei had about the same outfits (with some exceptions) and they ended up being up-beat songs. :lol:
Full white clothes don't work well with the kind of skin Berryz have in those pictures IMO. They should have got a (very) small tan.

First I was just so happy cause it wasn't a ballad.. but I can't say I'm loving this yet. =/
It doesn't feel powerful enough but that probably depends on that it's performed on that stage. Anyway, all Berryz songs I've grown to love so it probably won't be a problem. :D

It's catchy and fun, just like the ol' Berryz we know~ And I'm also glad it isn't a ballad, as people already started guessing. Yay! I know it'll grow on me more too, so I can't wait to see the PV and a performance.

That's what I had at first, but when I had Yurina and Maasa as those lines in the other choruses, I didn't know... It actually doesn't sound like any of them, imo XD I'll change it when I find other recordings, etc~

I like the song. I do not care for line distribution. If I did not like the song I might care, but I don't. I particularly like the arrangement. I even can forgive the overused 'wowow's and 'yayyay's. That's my opinion anyway :)

Yay! I was somewhat indifferent to the song after the concert rip (again... I really have to stop downloading those), but being able to actually hear the music in this I quite like it. ^_^ It almost seems like a summery song... which is odd going on winter here, but eh, maybe I just have an odd impression. It's nice and happy. ^^ I could almost imagine a picture like the Mikan cover to publicize it. I'm kind of surprised people are unhappy with line distribution. For one thing, there's actually less Risako than usual... It makes me wonder if you people will ever be happy. :lol: (doubt it)
Anyway, so I like this song, though I don't think I'd put it on par with MunaSuka and some others maybe. But still, looking forward to the PV and it coming out. ^_^

付き合ってるのに片思い and NOT 付き合っているのに片思い. Meaning the name IS Tsukiatteru no ni Kataomoi. :oops: Sorry for causing confusion, and thanks to Shiroihana from theppn who cleared this up.

^ in speach the 'i' of 'iru' is often dropped if it comes after the -te form of a verb. Iru is an auxillary verb for continuing action or state. In Morning Musume's Aruiteru this also happens ([We] are walking).
The Berryz' single title translates as follows (word between square brackets are implied):
Tsukiatteru / [We] are dating
no ni / although (particle, comes after the word(s) it applies to)
Kataomoi / [it is] unrequited love
One way to write is "Unrequited love, although we are dating". The subject (it) and verb (is) are missing but can be implied to give "Although we are dating, it is Unrequited Love".

I kinda like those covers. ^_^ It totally doesn't match the song, it looks like they're all at a wedding, and Risako looks strange (the girl's forehead is just too big for no bangs), but it's very pretty. ^^ I guess even though they're not keeping with the mature ballad in the actual song they thought they'd do it for the covers at least...
For some reason I'm not seeing this single as the one to catch them up to C-ute...

^ I personally don't care if a single they release ever "catches them up to C-ute" or not. As long as they've got good singles, we're happy :) And it's clear to see that despite C-ute's massive 'success', Berryz still and will always have their large and loyal fan base.

All of the girls look amazing, and that set is gorgeous... but what the hell?! They should've saved this set and those close-ups (when they're standing, not looking at the camera usually) for their next ballad release, whenever that may be, instead. XD

Actually, it almost seems kind of loosely inspired by The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaguya_Hime). At least, that was the first thing that popped into my head upon seeing it. I mean, bamboo? Check. Kind of old-fashioned clothes/fans/props/set? Check. Moon? Check. Girl (well, girls) looking forelornly at the moon, and eventually heading up to it? Check.
Not that this explanation really makes it match with the song more, but I don't think the PV was made quite *that* randomly.

Just saw the PV and I like it, but it doesn't top something like Gag 100 or Kokuhaku for me(the songs). The PV was ok, had nothing to do with the setting or anything. I liked the close-ups, but there were some shots in the PV that I thought were rather, ~cheesy~ like the ending :lol: Risako :wub:

I find the PV quite good, nice outfits and a very beautiful set, but the dance and the song don't fit. Still I love it, the girls are really beautiful in it, and the last shot is great^^
And Chinami's hair remind me of a 70's or 80's idol, but I can't remember her name^^

But the good thing is I can see captain dancing around *kuku* I thought the flashes are lightning, but look like it just wtf-ly bad effect applied.

This is the first time I actually listened to the song the whole way through.
I liked it a lot. It's definitely refreshing for Berryz, and it's good to see the lines a little more distributed.
The PV WAS odd, but I was enjoying it... until the end. Was she like flying to the moon or something? I didn't understand. But regardless of the oddness, the girls looked fantastic.
And, this is odd for me to admit, but this PV made me enjoy Risako. :O

It's the song that matters in the end, anyway.
They could have spent a huge budget on the PV and made it fantastic, but if the song sucked, you still wouldn't like it as much XD It's not like you watch the PV every time you want to hear the song, haha. I really love it (the song), it's so darn catchy and I find myself singing it a lot. Again, this is the Berryz we know and love!

I'm starting to find the fact that Risako stands out so much in this PV a little annoying >.< sure, she's pretty. but Momoko and Miyabi that sings kinda just as much as Risako and they are both as pretty as her are put in the bakground xDD but meybe it's 'cause of Buono.

uhoh. here's a bash.
there is a general (5-seconds old) rule of thumb that if the feel of the single ain't momoko, scrap it!
and i think they disregarded the rule--
1. this single is NEO-risako through and through.
the makeup is too heavy.
looks that way on most of the girls. notable exception risako and her seductive looks. which aren't berryz to me.
2. the song is bouncy/happy/cute but rather derivatively so. there's no momoko/ nintendo essence.
with early matsuura, golden/silver age momusu and W gone, if old-school berryz goes too, i don't know where the craziness is gonna come from. i'll throw a tantrum if it disappears.

The song and PV is nice and all (that shot of Momo at the 1:13-1:15 was really breathtaking,as well as the scenes where they are paired) but I still can't get over the fact why a song about unrequited love had to have a happy tune.

All I can tell is that Tsunku wants to mindfuck us. This is one of those strange brain teasers that show the strangest of things.
1. We know it's something about 'unrequited love', but is upbeat.
2. He really likes Risako.
3. The outfits are pure white.
4. He really likes Risako.
5. Some sort of traditional Japanese background with some bright happy outfits.
6. He REALLY likes Risako.
7. The ending. I say now, that creeps me out more than those commercials of Saw IV where the guy pops up between regular commercials. ;_;
8. Line distribution. Despite the obvious Risako love in the visual, she wasn't given a profuse amount of lines.

Okay, so after my initial "WTH?!" reaction and watching this a few more times, I just want to say that Saki is so adorable on her one solo line, and this entire PV made me like Yurina a LOT more.
Her line around 2:24 (at this upload of the PV (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZjGCKacdfk)), and the way she does the moves along with it is absolutely PERFECT. I just really like the way she moves her arms in that circle at the "KYUN da wa" part. For some reason, I always remember that part best. :heart:
The music still reminds me of Irish jigging, though. A PV in the Irish countryside... dancing alongside some sheep... now THAT'S what I'd expect for this song. Well, not EXPECT, but it'd be perfect if that happened to be the case. Not this strange... beautiful set with weird close-ups and... flying to the moon...

Honto no Jibun is better, yeah, but it's not that great to me. Mikan leaves me with even less impression that this song does. And Tokaikko just tries to be cool, so it's a totally different style.
I think the better comparison might be to their own songs like Cinderella and Gag. And compared to those songs, this song just lacks. I don't know why but H!P songs have been like this for me lately. Like there's a cool sounding song and, yeah, it's cool but not that cool. This is a fun song but not that fun. Like there's something keeping them that way. :-\

Or just to their most recent album songs. You prolly don't like those too, but for me it's a proof that not only the "past" Berryz had great songs. They're still absolutely great.
I don't really care if the PV and song fit together, but being ももヲタ I must say the PV lacks Momoko-sama, seriously. Also some sequences are made with a weird camera, it looks so much different (like a homevideo?) ... I don't like that much.
I'm going to get this single and single-v nevertheless, chances are still relatively high that I'll love this song and/or Berryz Kamen after some time. I'll work on that :lol:

on second watching i think it's ok.
For an 'unrequited love' song being upbeat, i think of Momoiro noooooo Kataomoi, which was splendiferously fantabulous imo. it's not so much a tragic, long-suffering unrequited love, it's more like an insecure and dokidoki kataomoi (charm point!?).
i could see this song with a similar PV, but it would probably pale in comparison to momoiro, so just as well they didn't try i suppose.
And you can see the PV and song jiving in an over-analysed, wota-aware sense. kaguyahime rejected every suit, the girls rise to the moon unattainable. even as they sing to the camera about fancying so-and-so and so-and-so not fancying them back (yea right). ironic comment on sad state of wotas. Totally Risako domain.
The perfect PV for this would be if they interpreted the lyrics literally.

hhahah it seems that the girl in the lyrics is a bit of a storm-in-a-teacup sort of girl, and if you make it literal it could be pretty insane and funny. (to momoland! full steam ahead!)
how to get around the lack of boys? momoko singing the song to a teddy bear? or channeling matsuura again, what about natsuo? I can think of a berryz who would make a great natsuo. hint natsu hint hint.

Um, I can't actually imagine a super happy and colourful PV for this song where they're running and bouncing around or anything, actually.
It would match the song's tempo and melody, but it's about a girl trying/struggling to get a guy to like her because he clearly doesn't and probably looks at other girls when on dates (that type), so I can understand the whole 'looking up at the moon wistfully' parts and such. Yes, the song is upbeat, but maybe that's because the girl is trying to keep her spirits up and be "POSITIVE GENKI!" about the whole situation XD

I've realised that I have a slight problem with this single; I love the song, I think the video is fantastic...but they just don't go together at all. The style fo the video suits a slower song like a ballad, putting it with this song is like putting mash potato with vanilla ice-cream: Alone they look and taste great, but together things just get confusing.
Currently downloading now, after this I'll have to grab the vid anyways, thanks again!

I thought Buono! single would be the highest sales of the kids this year, but Berryz can prove me wrong. And I really hope they do...they deserve it more than anyone after those 2 last singles (I really like Kokuhaku and Very Beauty, but it doesn't fit Berryz at all).

Pretty good sales, they are doing well. There are still quite some Beriwota with a lot of money :w00t:. I'm happy that Berryz still gets so much support. Making it possible for them to continue being what they are and what they want to become.
I like the single nowadays but it certainly is different from the previous hits. Also I haven't listened to Warera! Berryz Kamen yet since I want some kind of thrill when I get my copy of the single ^-^
Please refrain from fighting about who's better here since there isn't a right or wrong as soon as it comes to the own opinion/taste in music, but also please think of c-ute fans who might feel hurt by certain comparisons/statements. We prolly wouldn't like to read those things in other threads about Berryz too. Than again, we (beriwota) are happy about Berryz's sales now after so many people always compared both groups in the past, saying c-ute has better songs etc., with berryz fans even "converting" to c-ute fans and all, so some reactions are understandable now I hope.

I can't remember them having more CMs than usual, actually my impression is that they had less compared to Kokuhaku no Funsui Hiroba, looks like I've missed something.
I somewhat doubt that there is much connection between a broken 25k mark of another group and Berryz sales, but you never know.
Actually I was avoiding mentioning C-ute in my previous posting, but since their sales are posted here now I would like to mention that this isn't only Berryz best first week sale, that it outsells Mikan's but also is - so far - better than c-ute's first week sales, oh, and don't forget about first day sales. Damn, looks like there are new marks that need to be broken. This way we gonna have 100k sales again soon :w00t:
But to be serious, the most surprising thing is imho that Mikan sold bad compared to everything, but that has not much to do with Berryz nor c-ute.

Actually it says "event-v" ... so it was sold at an event...? ... damn it. -_-
Even though it only has close dance shot and an interview, I still would like to get it :/
