Finally a simple and cool title. I'm getting kinda tired of these long/chessy "Ai no Nanchara Shissu" and "LOVE Escalation".
It's plain and it's awesome! Better not be another sugar-sugar sweet cover. Badass Berryz please! :P

^The name is short and simple - this is something that hasn't been yet implemented in the titles. I really hope that the cover won't be the same "five minutes in photoshop" that we see in new releases now...

While I was cleaning up my media library(I just installed iTunes and my messed up tags just don't suit it) I found out that one of Morning Musume's albums is called "No.5" - so Berryz Koubou album name is not that unique after all.

Maybe a good compromise would be to shuffle the leads instead, so far that's not happened often (think the joshi basket bu song)

I wouldn't rule it out as completely fake. The tracklist for their 4th album was released about 3 weeks before the release date.

Now I know this is a discussion thread for the album but the sooner people learn to stop worrying about who gets solo lines in H!P the better; it's usually pretty damn easy to predict who's going to be featuring most.
Hopefully my bro will have pre-oredered this for me like he said he would (though last time I asked him he hadn't bothered) as Berryz have been pretty damn good these past few months for me.; definitely making up for the disappintment I've had in Momusu recently.

If they have the right song for Risako, I'll like that too. I usually like what solos they give to her, even if it's done quite often. XD

Actually the lead stuff you're referring to only really counts for singles, on albums the vocal distribution is pretty fair.

Thanks for posting out real tracklist. It's simply great! And Risako's solo :wub: no words for it... Though I do want to hear Miyabi's solo one day, but oh well - I guess they have other plans for her... Can't wait for the release! And it's great that there's so much new songs in this!
And I'm really looking forward to the Special Generation Eccentric remix - the title's interesting.
P.s. Let's hope it gets more sales than previous albums in the first week... :farofflook:

Sak: Our fifth album 5 (Five) is being released on 9/10!
Chi: So there's a total of 8 new songs on the album this time. How awesome is that!?
Yur: The different variations in the songs is really something. For example in Maasa, Captain, Chinami and my "Yume wo Hitotsubu", right in the middle of everything it's like the world changes completely in an instant.
Chi: "BE" is also a title you can't really imagine what it's like. It's actually a really slow one, and it's got a enka kind of feeling to it!
Miy: In the same song, I tried to put myself in Tsunku-san's shoes and mimic his singing style... but as expected it's tough.
Mom: When we got the lyrics for "Ah Merry-go-round" that Captain and I sing in, it gave me quite a surprise. (lol)
Sak: I saw the super long monologue and kind of went "Whoa!?. (lol)
Ris: There's a monologue as well in my solo song "REAL LOVE"~ It's so grown up I doubt if I'm the one appropriate for it (lol), I also sang it in a voice that I'm usually not used to.
Maa: Keep an eye out for Momo's, China's and my "Kono Yubi tomare!" collaboration which features us three girls that normally have differing characters. (lol)
Chi: Kind of like a "Chase your dreams" type of song. It's really great! :heart:
Miy: "CLAP!" has China, Kumai-chan and I singing, it's really up-beat which makes it refreshing.
Yur: The sound of the guitar and stuff is really cool.
Mom: The guitars in "Happy! Stand UP" that has all of us singing, is also nifty! It's got a whole bunch of sounds in it!
Sak: The whole album is packed with all of us showing more grown up sides of ourselves, and the same thing could be said about "Baka ni shinaide!"!
I don't know if that's the whole article, but at least that's what's available. I could always pick up the issue myself if proper scans don't show up.

This is the track I was most excited about and I can't say I'm disappointed, I love it!! I've always thought this song needed a remix and I'm glad it finally got one. I think it's a nice touch replacing Maiha's lines as well, a little more effort than I would usually expect these days.

I'm listening to the album for the fifth time now! It's just so great that I can't listen anything else for now. :farofflook:
It has only one flaw - the remix of Special Generation is somewhat crappy... I don't know how to explain it - but the sound is too trashed up by different patterns, the main "body" of the remix is unbalanced(for example in some places there's some strange total changes in beat and tone...) and they took old Special Generation vocal audio and mixed it there. So except this song - this album came up to my top favorites very fast. I'll write up a review post in my blog - so if you're somehow interested - you are all welcome there.

'REAL LOVE' is just... I'm impressed. Sako must have really been taking some serious voice lessons :lol:
Overall, I love this album. The only songs that don't do much for me are 'CLAP!' & the Berryz Kamen Ending Theme, but everything else is awesome. Way to go with this one, Berryz! :otomerika:

Wow Happy stand up is really one of their best songs ever IMO~ the other new songs are ok at best. only less enjoyable for me are those two akira-arranged songs. they sound too much like the other H!P akira songs. Moreover Risako 's solo song doesnt suit her at all IMO.

My review:
HAPPY! Stand Up
- Great song. It's getting alittle boring to hear the refrain over and over and over and over almost exactly the same. And it kinda bugs me Risako and Momoko rule the chorus. But it's still a great song which sounds awesome live! :)
Kono Yubi Tomare
- Another great one. Since this album is filled with very diffrent tunes it's hard to compare them, but I do find this one alittle less enjoyable as the other songs. It's a great song and the album wouldn't be the same without it but this is gonna be one of the ones a listen to alittle less.
Baka ni Shinaide
- :w00t: LOVE IT! Whoever said this was a Sayaonara Hageshiki Koi rip-off was... well, totally right but whatever. :lol: The whole songs is build with greatness but Risakos solo in the end is pure win! :heart: Powerful and nice!
Ah Merry-Go-Round
- Actually very good song. I'm not sure if I would have listen to it if it wasn't Berryz but now it is and it has a great tune. I was really surprised cause the title indicates that I would be something in the lines of "Internet Cupid" (which is a nice song but maybe a little bit to cute). Momoko and Captain do a great job! :yep:
CLAP!
- It's not bad. I wished it was better cause it's Miya and all. I like it and it's a great song but perhaps doesn't go as far as the other songs.
REAL LOVE
- Risako totally blew me away. I was expecting this to be bad! I had already decided that this was going to be my least favorite song on the whole album, just knowing it would be a risako solo and the name was Real Love. But I was proven VERY wrong. Risako is very well suited for this song and does a great job! And yeah, the song really does remind of a Goto Maki reject. XD
Yume wo Hitotsubu
- Very intresting and refreshing with an somewhat odd song. Another great piece in the FIVE puzzel. It's good that the song isin't quite short because it adds charm to the song.
BE
- First I was: Zzzzzz. But this song is really awesome! The only part that kinda annoys me is the old man+kids intermission, but this song is still gorgeous and exactly what I was waiting for from Berryz. :heart: Very moving.
Special Generation (Essentric Remix)
- Oh yes, the very disliked remix. x) Well, I truly see why people don't like it. It's bumpy and not really fitting. But I still find it very nice to listen to and the risako: right, Miyabi: left parts sound awesome. I like it even though it could probably be better.
Wasn't that a whole bunch of fun? x3
This album is... there are no words! It's so well put together and the songs are so diffrent and catchy. This is my favorite album of all time. No competition. 10/10

I just bought the album. Went to ISHIMARU to look for canary club and found berryz album. I actually wanted to go buy it tomorrow since it's the release day but looks like shops don't care. I saw it also in the hello pro shop but only in the shelf behind the counter. I'm happy anyway.

I listened to the album yesterday (I didn't even know it was realesed, I'm a bad H!P fan at the moment . . .) My favourite songs on the album are Ah Merry-go-round (Saki & Momo :heart:) バカにしないで and Real Love.
I was really suprised of how good Risako sounded in Real Love, she must have taken lessons, but I really love the song and it really sounds like an old-school Goto song. XD

Wow, that's all I can say about 'Ah Merry-Go-Round'. I was completely blew away after listening to just 30 sec of the song. So far I have only dl-ed this and the 'Special Generation Remix'. I think I'll keep myself from dl-ing the rest of the songs and wait for the album to arrive. Yes, I'm gonna order this just cuz of 'Ah Merry-Go-Round.' :D I :heart: it that much.

Ok! I just listened to the full album on my way back from work. so far the songs that sticks to my head the most are Baka ni Shinaide (really cool and upbeat), Ah Merry-go-round (totally awesome song) and CLAP!. Not bad for a first listen-through. I'm sure the rest will stick after I listen more to it ^_^
btw I had hoped either Jingisukan or tsukikata will be remixed, too bad they're not :(

4th and 10th aren't all that bad if you compare the rank to other album (4th ai no, 3rd LOVE esc).
What can be somewhat "worrying" is that the album that placed 3rd yesterday, only sold 4008. Which means, since 5 (FIVE) was at 4th place, it sold less then that.
It's not that bad for a H!P album i guess. Just wished this album got the amount of sales it deserves!

Indeed, it's really very frustrating. Many artists appear on shows to promote their albums as well as their singles, I've always thought it strange that Hello! Project generally doesn't do this.

Alot of times! :lol: BE was easy but CLAP was almost like terror! >__<
And Volume didn't sound right to begin with but it was the only word I could think of. Worry makes more sence. XD
Also I was kinda thinking that the MISS YOU sounds alittle like monsieur, but I'm not sure. x)
