I did read something about J/Matsurina bed scene as well but I think it's Akane - if the pairs on the covers are anything to go by.

My dreams will be crushed for eternity if W Matsui doesn't have a happy ending in this. :lol:

WTF!!!  Why have I missed this!!!  I knew I should have taken a look in this thread yesterday but I was so busy with work I forgot.

I can honestly say that even if I'd been asked to make 1000 different predicitions of what the PV could possibly be, I'd have not even got close to this :lol:  I was figuring I might buy this single since I've been getting into SKE a lot recently.  Now I know I'll be buying it :D

Strange.... After watching that live perf, I've finally come to realize just how fully Churi had integrated herself with WMatsui. They really are the big 3 of SKE. They carry a different aura, that's why I think it was a bit jarring to see Shawako with them. The difference is palpable. :ph43r: That, or maybe Shawako's dancing is a bit spastic and the other 3 were just more in sync with each other. Who knows.  :P

Yep, definitely Kimchi.  I'm not great at understanding Japanese but I think that Kumi's response was something like 'I didn't eat Kimchi' so I think they were arguing about whether Kanon could taste Kimchi when Kumi kissed her.  I think.  But please don't quote me on it.

I'm a bit dissapointed that I'm gonna miss out on the super awesome first press covers cause the inner perv in me wants one :lol:  But I have to wait to order this as money is tight so I gotta wait till there's more stuff that I want and I've got nothing else to order right now :(

This will be my first SKE48 purchase- I often get tempted to buy their stuff but AKB/H!P purchases always take priority, but now? They must really want me to buy their stuff- It reminds me of Keibetsu Shiteita Aijou/Seifuku ga jama wo suru and I love it. :panic:

Why can't they just release the whole PV now instead of coming out with segments like these where they progressively reveal new bits and pieces of it. I'm dying in anticipation here! :banghead: In any case, I think I'm finally understanding the story here.

Yukko's in Akagumi, but not all Akagumi (or Shirogumi, either) members show up in their respective group PVs. And management likes to randomly select the girls who make it or not.   Yukko was subbing for Kizaki in that performance.

And well, I'll be damned. This song is the perfect opposite to the original Kataomoi song that they did last year (XD).  It's tense, it's fierce, it's fast, it's desperate, and that "yes ka no ka no answer yori mo..."  is one fine build up.

Can't wait to see the theater performances, which is the probably the only time there's footage of the whole song.  That dancing is just nuts.

On the list of releases in 2012 that I'm looking forward to, this is currently the unrivaled number one. And it's really not just the kissing part. The shots on that green field look nice and the song itself sounds really catchy. Also, I'm a sucker for PVs with a real story.

I have to say, though, the car crash looks a little lame. A head-on collision at full speed should be much more violent. In the PV it looks like the cars were going at 10 mph or something when they crashed.

I don't know, but maybe the car crash represents something else? For example, their destroyed innocence, a broken friendship, etc. There has to be a deeper meaning to it.

I read someone saying like "the drivers saw two girls kissing, they got distracted and crashed" but that's too shallow and unlikely. They put that scene in for a deeper reason.

Yeah, the car crash definitely means something. What it is, I don't know yet. In Two Roses, Jurina's black while Rena's white. It's the same thing here. So, a collision of black and white... will create a gray area? Unrequited lesbian love is neither good nor bad, but just is? Lololol! I don't even know what I'm talking about!

So HMV gets the Rena bonus again... Upside is that the HMV bonus is generally the easiest to score of eBay  :lol:

My thoughts after watching the PV:

Really nice to see a little bit of story before the music starts but I'd have perhaps liked a little more.

Didn't expect the Kumi/Kanon kiss to be right there at the start.  Figured they'd save that for later.

I wasn't as mega hyped as I thought I'd be watching it cause of the hype, the previews and the waiting but I still enjoyed it a lot.  There is so much fan service with various touches and 'misread situations'.

The scenes of Rena running through the field were a really nice touch.  It was one of those moments where it was like watching a dream that you could live in forever.

Overall I really like the PV and it's doesn't feel distasteful.  Sure there's lots of suggestive stuff but it's bold and has strong imagery mixed in.  It more felt to me like maybe they were just trying to show the strong emotions of love, but without using the typical male/female pairings we've all seen in various films/shows.  And maybe they are trying to make a statement to show how it doesn't matter what gender the lovers are?

Lol, kind of wish the song and hadn't degenerated into disjointed nonsense at the bridge. Storyline was perfectly clear, and then THINGS HAPPENED with even less connecting clues than Dareka. What was really confusing is that the MV played it like Jurina and Churi were both slightly-more-than-casual swingers, so I'm not sure why Churi was slapping Jurina. Much less what the deal was with that Non shot towards the end. Was that Rena shooting the flare, anyways?
Everything else fit in storyline-wise. The actual music's transition into the bridge was a mess, too, though.

I love it and I hate it. I mean, it's a beautiful PV all in all, but the way they presented the story/scenes is kinda abrupt. We have the WMatsui 'storyline' in the first half, then get the random Shawako/Airi in the middle and that party near the end. Then again back to WMatsui. IMO, they could've gone the 'Dareka' and scattered the mini-storylines in such a way that we can follow all of them until the end and not just at one point of the PV. There is so much potential here to be turned into something more. I wish they full explored that.

Again, that's not to say that I didn't love it. I do. I really do. Rena's acting is exceptional.  :bow: I really do wish she gets a serious drama.

Now to wait for the coupling PVs.  :thumbsup

I honestly have no idea what the song is about, but the PV is kind of confusing, lol. Here am I thinking that it was something deep (there's probably an insightful metaphor in this vid somewhere) but no... they're just softdrinks.  :lol: I do like the song though, especially the guitar riff at the start. I thought the first chorus was a bit too smooth compared to the rough sound of the verses, but it does roughen up the second time around.

And once again, Rena's expressions are so full of win. That sweet guy got a bear hug from her. Awww.

I like the PV but it felt a little underwhelming in some parts and a few scenes didn't really make sense, they sort of felt shoved in and I'm kinda of surprised it's so short, course 5 minutes isn't exactly short but I kinda expected maybe close to 10 minutes like with the Junjou U-19 PV.

Wait, so Churi, Jurina, and Matsurina are in a casual threesome thing?(I mean, that's Matsurina that runs up to the door after Jurina sucks on Rena's finger, right?) Why is Churi slapping Jurina again? My best guess is that she's slapping Jurina for hurting Rena so badly, especially since it's implied Rena died or something with those field scenes and the beginning scene of her staggering down the street.

Does "walking down a dirty fluorescent lit hallway/tunnel" count as a Dareka nod, too?  I'm not sure who that was in KatFin, though.

Akagumi:
This is so cute with so many bad implications,("That dude is drinking Rena!  :panic:"  :P)  but whatever. So cute!

Although, lol Rena really is the SKE Maeda now. This is what, her third "Main frontgirl gets excluded because she's stubborn!" storyline now?

Lol, if you put it in the contexts of PVs then yeah, Rena's the SKE version of Maeda now. I don't really mind because she can obviously do wonders with those expression of hers. But other than PVs, I think she's more of the SKE Yuko - obvious fan favorite; the management, however, not so much. Jurina is still the default center of the performances. Not a bad trade off, imo. In fact I'd say they're playing to each Matsui's strengths. Now all the management have to do is figure out a way to include the rest of SKE in that scenario.

Oh, and I honestly thought that Churi was slapping Jurina because she gave the necklace to Rena. And then Rena was staggering like that because they spent the entire night slapping the snot out of each other. But then again you could be right. :lol: The opening scene of Rena running across the grassfield seemed like it was implying something otherworldly.

That Akagumi PV is certainly interesting.  It's an unusual idea although I kinda found it a little bit creepy.  I realize that they were supposed to be drinks, but the visual of people (mostly men) coming up to a bunch of girls, handing over cash and then taking them away was, well, not what I expected to see in an idol PV XD

So, what was Rena supposed to be?  Cold cider?  And then she just turned into warm Cider?  I couldn't understand the kanji on her label she had on.

Also, it's totally unbelievable cause like anyone wouldn't pick Rena :lol:

I quite like the concept of this PV, and I agree with Zorr's comments above. I didn't find it creepy, but just super cute. The transformation scene at the end was just hilarious.

That opening guitar riff is SO LAME. I hate it  :nervous Not feeling the verses either, but the chorus is pretty catchy. I doubt I'll listen to this song a lot, but when I do it will be while watching the PV  :thumbup

- Seira: action based comedy for an easy win
- Mai: lol, that was pretty funny. Long tongue. Going for some Oshima Yuko flavored appeal here
- Riho: this wasn't funny when they did it on akbingo and it's not funny now. Went on for way too long too.
- ErikaSMASH: not that special, but ok, lol
- Kanon: lol nice, need gifs.
- Ririna: ooh an actual skill! coolness
- Mitsuki: woah, she makes a great first impression
- Yuria: wota look out, she will kick your ass
- Iguchi: wasn't that strong, but the 'Y' made me lol
- Hioki: first time seeing her in action... she looks more her age in vids than in those early pics.
- Tomoka: future job aspirations? knocking over the glass before it started was funny
- Makiko: sloppy as hell haha, she's turning into another suberi/hetare chara
- Masana: didn't quite follow the story, but it looked pretty cool
- Hara: pretty solid performance
- Mano: lol she totally upstaged Hara
- Akarin: very impressive! Slight misstep in the beginning, but so gracious. Great control and sense of balance. Also, how muscular is her back D: dayum. My fav so far [/bias?]
- Ono: booooring
- Mieko: she's been growing on me, she definitely has a lot of skill. Not sure what to think of this skit... it looks nice. Milky couldn't have done it any better.
- Niidoi: KAWAII. Future oshihen.
- Yuna: born in 2000! She knows more fish kanji than Kumi lol
- Kobayashi: musical skills are always appreciated
- Mizuki: sorry, but tab dancing isn't cool. It just isn't, no matter how well it's done. Gomen ne, Mizuki.
- Ueno: lol, this is the trick that Shinji taught them!
- Reika: booring
- Shibaya: lol, this again. Pretty (x2).
- Rikako: awesome instrument
- Momona: she looks totally different every time I see her. Skit wasn't that interesting.
- Nakanishi: I had to rewind to see what she was doing, because it by so quickly. She could've used this 'event' to make a better appeal for herself.
- Isohara: lol, she should go into mime
- Goto: still looking like Kamei Eri. Lame 'trick.' Too bad.
- Deguchi: meh. I still haven't forgiven her for being mean to Kaotan on G+.
- Jurina: that's... different, haha. J and her puns.

...Why is the jury even there, they all passed  :lol:

Part 2 Review:
- Rumi: lol nice
- Matsurina: do want.
- Kanako: sounds like a video game lol
- Arisa: meh
- Furuhata: don't know what to say
- Tsuzuki: ...I'm unfamiliar with what she is doing
- Uchiyama: I can do this too. They showed this when Otsuka Ai was on Utaban several years ago.
- Yamada: ...yeah lol
- Ogiso: good enough

I guess that after 40 minutes my standard has become higher and I'm less easily impressed. Pro tip: take a break after watching part 1. lol

- Airin: Acchan did this too in the first episode of AKBingo
- Yukari: ...wtf is she doing?!
- Ogino: lol cute
- Iwanaga: I can do that tongue trick too, lol.
- Hata: lol, she's been looking at Mayu's PB too much
- Rena: ...eeh. lol
- Narumi: lol dayum, impressive.
- Yumana: cool to see a lot of the girls have this sort of background (albeit with flags or sticks)
- Yukko: let her fight Yuria lol
- Sakai: cool, but not really entertaining
- Nanako: niiice, future asset for sure.
- Umechan: more gymnastics
- Imade: Hara was really static, whereas Mai is quite dynamic... which probably caused her to drop it, but in the end it's more memorable.
- Asana: lmao. That was unexpected.
- Kumi: actually really good. It's not just being goofy, but she actually nails it
- Kaneko: yeah the lameness of it made it funny somehow lol
- Yakata: she's pretty entertaining
- Manatsu: isn't this J's kinda thing? lol
- Matsumura: I said this before, but it will help her career if she expanded her chara a bit more. She's been doing this exact same things since... well since before SKE48 even existed, lol. It's cute and entertaining, no doubt, but I wanna see what else she can do. She's also the only so far that failed  :nervous
- Kobayashi: Smart move including Kuwabara in something as active as this. Ooh, she failed too?! Judges getting critical in the last 10 minutes? haha
- Anna: keep your hobbies to yourself lol. Something as intricate won't leave a good impression on a stage.
- Shiitan: this is what I recommended for Nakanishi, something that allows you to be on stage for a longer period of time. Get your face out there! I'm a huge sucker for Shiitan. Still like her a lot.
- Honoka: First rule of doing skits: never laugh at yourself. If you're embarrassed about your performance, the audience will be too.
- Moko: super cute, but in no way a special skill lol
- Akane: lmao at the missed catch. Not because she missed it, but just her priceless expression.


Looking forward to Type C! They changed the story of KII video to more skits?

Barrie, thank you for your review.  Especially since you know I was relying on you for some of the names :)  And if you still aren't sure what Tsuzuki was doing, see my review below.

I'm gonna list my favourites so far.

From Part 1:

Erika: Freaky but funny:lol:
Non: Seriously freaky but funny:lol:
Mitsuki: Liked it even if she did fumble the landing
Yuria:  This totally fits into my 'cute girls who can kick ass' fantasies :D
Hioki: I was enjoying it and then her cute smile as she finished was the winning blow :D
Makiko: Pure fail and yet pure win :D
Akarin: Despite the slight stumble and the fact that at times she seemed to be finding it a little difficult with the lack of space, overall very impressive.
Rikako: I actually really, really wanted to see more of this.  Very interesting to watch and she played it really nicely.  Also, what is that instrument called?
Jurina: When that guy came out and then she crouched down I was all like 'No way.. she's not gonna do that is she?'  Seriously Jurina, a piggy back ride to a full grown man?  So random, so awesome :lol:

From Part 2:

Rumi: What the hell! XD  That was actually very close to being pure win.  I'd say we are at about 95% win there XD
Kanako: LOL WUT XD  I think only she could have pulled that off :lol:
Tsuzuki: I got that she was doing some sort of transformation poses the first time and they seemed familiar but I couldn't figure out what.  Rewatched and caught that she said 'Kamen Rider'.  That'll be why I partly recognised it cause I've seen it a couple of times.  Actually kind cool in a random way.
Ogiso: What was she doing?  The Banzai Venus dance in super speed?
Yukari: I have no idea why I'm putting this down as one of my favourite.  Somehow it just entertained me :lol:
Ogino: Another example of how to fail but still win :D
Rena: I hope you know that you only just scraped onto this list cause I totally love you and somehow I enjoyed it even though I'm not sure why XD

Nanako: Kinda wasn't sure if I was gonna put it down but the badassitude at the end sealed it XD
Imade: I looked and thought 'not another baton twirler'.  I hadn't really got that into the others.  But she had a lot of power in hers and it was actually pretty awesome.  The fumble really didn't matter cause her performance had a lot of energy.
Kumi: Yeah, like I said above, part cute, part funny, defintely gets my vote.

Gonna struggle with names a bit here cause Barrie hasn't updated yet.

Kaneko: She kinda totally deadpanned her performance, especially at the start, which somehow made it pretty damn funny :lol:
Matsumura (I think I got that right):  Totally loved it XD  Especially the fact that she actually gave the drink to one of the judges :lol:
Akane:  Finally!  I was starting to worry that she wasn't gonna appear.  I actually thought it was gonna be kinda boring.  And somehow I expected her to miss 1 bottle.  But that missed catch.  That got me :lol:  Churi, you should have just brought one of your birds on!

Watch these last night... i can't really recall in detail most of them, like, some girls did baton stuff, and a couple did flips/etc haha.. i honestly was bothered by the judges, with what they showed of them, they seemed very jaded and uninterested half the time  :sweatdrop:

the ones that really stood out imo were Kaotan's, nice touch of burst in the end, Kinchan is insta fail/laughs the moment the curtain opened, and oh, Kanakana's was surprisingly cute. Rumi's was kinda creepy tbh. :lol:

^ Quite a jump from the 2nd day sales of Pareo and Oki Doki. They'll definitely break the 400k this week. To reach 500k, they'll have to sell like consistently until the rest of the week. 450k seems to be more likely. Though I'm still hoping against hope that they'll somehow reach 500k by the end of the week.

Anyway, I don't think has been shared yet. The type C version of Kouhaku Taikou Maruhi Gei Kakutei Taikai. It's the full version (not just the combined Type A and Type B). Runs for about 80 minutes and has the Samurai Rena bit, Jurina's magic show, bell performance, and all those other stuff they showed in the preview.

EDIT:
First Round:
- Akagumi's formations were funny and awesome (not to mention dangerous and physically demanding)~! What they showed during the Request Hour were the simple ones.
- Shirogumi's bells performance was beautiful. Amazing Grace sounded really nice.
Second Round:
- Akagumi - Shawako, Manatsu and Akarin doing manzai was lol! Manatsu went trigger-happy with the fan, even though they were both older than her by more than 5 years.
- Shirogumi - I don't know what this kind of skit was called, but Mizuki and Ami totally pawned everyone in this. I was literally in stitches while watching this. Kinda miffed that they got a lower score. (On a side note, Anna looks really nice in that all-white yukata. For some reason, she kinda reminds me of Kristen Bell. I think it's shape of her face and her eyes.)
Final Round: (Of course Rena and Jurina get to do their solo. :lol: )
- True to their group concepts, Jurina gets to fun magic show while Rena gets the cool sword demonstration.  :thumbsup
- Jurina with short blonde wig made her look like she just stepped out of a video game. Her magic tricks were pretty nifty, but the whole performance felt kinda short. Nevertheless, full points for her.
- Lastly, for the highlight of show (you know it's the highlight when up until this point, Akagumi has been performing before Shirogumi and then suddenly they switch), ikemen Ren makes an appearance.

- Rena had quite a bit of scare during practice. I'm actually quite surprised that they let her do this. She could've easily sliced off her finger with that sword. I was feeling glad they didn't include her in Akagumi's pyramid formations (where she could've snapped her back in no time), but seeing her arms covered in bruises and bandages.... :/ Her last trick had a few members crying because it was so darn dangerous (in fact, I think Rena was teary while doing it as well)! Just what are they trying to achieve here?!? :panic: Of course, she gets full marks.

- In the end, Akagumi won, I still think it should've have been Shirogumi (Mizuki was just  :lol: :lol: :lol: ), or at the very least both teams were tied. Anyway, this is definitely a must-watch!

Oh sweet! They pulled a "Not yet" (they tend to have a great day later in the wek as well).

The power of Music Station? That performance there was killer imo. Tight and energetic, reminded me of 'old' ske48  :thumbup

That sales number couldn't have been solely because of Music Station, could it? I mean, it was aired later that night... unless people really did buy those cds after 9pm. :P Handshakes events most likely contributed most of it. That, or they shipped a second batch.

Anyway, they had national handshake event today at the Seibu Dome. And they also performed at the Music Fair. I'm hoping there wouldn't be such a large drop when they reveal today's sales tomorrow.

I wouldn't be suprised if that 96K sale day wasn't anything to do with YesAsia-- I pre-ordered Type B and I was getting worried why it hasn't been shipped and Kataomoi Finally is out of stock despite me PRE-ORDERING it?? > ___ <
XD I'm glad it's selling so well! I hope YesAsia don't turn around and say they can't get the first press anymore...

^ That's still going to increase, right? Some stores do not submit their daily sales to Oricon, and instead do it at the end of the week. Crossing my fingers at tomorrow's weekly chart.

On another note, there's a small segment on ZIP about their Seibu Dome HS event. One of their staff got a CD and lined up to meet Rena, lol. They did get her rank wrong, though. :lol:

Fast-forward to 1:30 for the SKE bit; skip to the 3:00 mark to see just how many people line up to shake Rena's hand. More like half of the whole crowd is in her line.

My 2 cents:

- Akagumi formations: both fun and impressive. Very well executed, their hard work has paid off.
- Shirogumi bells performance: sounded very nice. From an objective point of view, there were some sloppy parts... so for me, Akagumi won round one, by one point.

- Akagumi - Shawako, Manatsu and Akarin: this was seriously funny. I'm impressed by Manatsu's eloquence. She usually doesn't talk that much, haha. Akarin is comedy gold and Shawako was just the icing on the cake.
- Shirogumi: If I'm completely honest I didn't like this bit that much. Very basic type of comedy which is only funny for so long.
Again, Akagumi was the clear winner for me in this round.

- Jurina magic show: unlike gekikarabuACE, this felt sorta long to me. I wasn't that into it, so maybe that's why. The card and sock tricks weren't that exciting, but the disappearance scene at the end made up for it. Still undecided about her outfit and wig as well, haha.
- Rena sword demonstration: holy crap, that was intense. Anna crying throughout the show. Even I was super nervous just watching it on screen. That last bit looked really nasty. Poor Rena getting injured during practice as well... I respect her a lot for doing this, but I don't really want to see my idols pushed to this level of intensity.

For me, Akagumi was the clear winner. Their skits were the best executed, funniest and most impressive.


I'm getting a bit tired of Jurina's poor sportsmanship. This is at least the third time she's whining or cheating because she wants to win. (see: SKE48 swimmeet VS Shawako, SKE48 sports festival on Shukan, sprint segment.) Grow up already :V  :lol:

Well, I personally feel that this is the best single SKE48 ever made.

The single and the b-sides create a great combination. It is really catchy and it sounds wonderful, really.

As regards the PV, I liked the three of them. I thought I would be more shocked about Kataomoi Finally, but I didn't. It was like there was a lot of talking around it before it was officially released, about this and that, and it wasn't so shocking (not for me, at least).

I loved the outfits of the other two PVs. They were really cute and it gives me the impression that they cared a lot about it.

Well, I think that's all.

^The extra footage is one of the things I massively appreciate about AKB48 releases. I used to be just one alternate 3 minute PV or something. Now we get much better value for money  :thumbup

Although Koe ga has slightly better choreography, and Akagumi is a little tighter and smoother than Momoclo, but it's not like they're going for the cray-cray intense energy Momoclo have.

Man, Rena has so much stage presence and poise in her profile, but once they throw themselves into motion the others completely steal the spotlight. Poor girl still hasn't mastered hip movements quite yet, which makes her dancing come off stiff.(Stiff worked wonders in Ame no Pianist, of course.)

Dammit I wanna see Katsuo doing this dance.

As for Lollipop...I love the song, but it's not the kind I need to see live.  :lol:

When Rena walks into the scene, all eyes automatically fall on her. But when she starts dancing... erm.  :sweatdrop: She's fine with sharp and stiff movements/choreographies like Ame no Pianist or even KataFai. Just don't ask her to move that waist because she can't and she won't.

I've been waiting for a clip of a Koe ga performance ever since I saw the black outfits. As expected, the dance is sharp and sexy at the same time, just like how the song is like a ballad-y rock song (or a rockish ballad).

HaniLoli... what can I say? A live performance may be too sweet for my liking. I feel like it's giving me diabetes just by watching. Good song, but I think I like it much better when I'm just listening to the song.
