Description
Twenty-ninth single from AKB48 includes three new songs sung by 16 members who won at the 29th Janken Taikai (event) and three instrumental tracks (subject to change). Comes with a bonus DVD with three music clips of the new songs and bonus video footage. *The third tracks corresponding to Types A-C (CD & DVD) are different from each other. *Unless otherwise indicated, DVDs are region-2 encoded (Japan, Europe, and Middle East), and carry no subtitles.

Big pressure for Paruru indeed! Looking back at AKB48's sales history the "janken single" always sells less than the "cool autumn single."

I quite like type A's cover. The other two... not so much.
Sakura no Hanabira PV should be a pretty awesome montage, lol. Team B Oshi gonna be fun.

It doesn't really have the 'wow factor' but I quite like it! It's perfect for chants XD
- Paruru and Yui sound really good together.
- Nice cutesy winter-esque uniforms
- Weird seeing Tomochin in the back.
- Mayu didn't really seem into it. She didn't clap along until she noticed she was on camera :lol:
- The 'pressure' repeats remind me of Europe's The Final Countdown, haha.
- Paruru center with Yui vocals :thumbup

Normally I would be disappointed at the fact that it's similar to previous songs and seems a bit "plain" but we just had "UZA" which was radically different to most/all previous songs and it included songs from the new formation teams so I think this return to familiarity is quite a nice one :thumbup
As for this song as itself it hasn't left a huge impression on me but like most songs it'll grow on me as I listen to it more :lol:

Sounds like pretty standard cookie cutter AKB. Not a bad sound at all, but we're just so used to this from countless Undergirls tracks, that it feels plain.
I'm just happy to see Moeno all up in this joint. I quite like the lineup.

Eien Pressure did nothing for me but HA! blew my mind away at the very first second! Such a powerful sound and imagery from the get-go. The girls, especially Sayanee, look amazingly hot in their ane-san getups. Love the hints of NMB48's trademark leopard prints on their costumes. The dancing on a floating platform at night concept is ingenious and the scene was shot on location no less! No CG background for these fierce girls :thumbup This truly gives the PV a movie-like feel. Plus, the girls' strong dancing skills shine through despite the limited space on the platform.
I guess Aki-p is really going all out with the coupling tracks to make sure this single doesn't sink still sells well XD

I really love "Watashitachi no Reason". From the very start it has that feel good AKB48 factor. With this song and the Paruru solo cover, I'm definitely picking up a copy of the Theatre Edition from somewhere.
"Eien Pressure" also got me right from the start. Its a really nice relaxed song that makes me feel nice. The Kayou-k-yoku performance was amazing. Paruru fits in really well as centre, her smile lit up the stage, she showed off her cuteness and dimples and the style of choreography was just right for her. If she doesn't melt a thousand hearts with this performance, I don't know what will win anyone over to Paruru. I liked how they included a scissors move in the dancing too. I really like her cute voice during the solo lines at the start and for some reason really liked it when she sticks her hand up at the start. I also really like the mix of members in the song/performance. Yuko stands out with her dancing even though she's at the back. Chiichan looks great, lovely to see Ucchi there (I like the moment when all three Janken Queens line-up). Umechan was so funny with her massive glasses. Overall, I like this song a lot, and have looped this performance many times :)
(Btw, I love Paru's hairstyle in the medley from Kayou-Kyoku :wub: )
(Also, Yui's not very good at winking, but does it at least twice on this show :lol: )
The dance segments of the HA! PV look awesome. However, I'm worried that the story PV will get in the way. I dislike story PVs and would love just a few dance PV of this as it looks really good. The song doesn't really grab me much so far though.

AKB48’s new Puccho CM
AKB48’s new Puccho CM will air nationwide starting on the 17th.
The new CM’s “mystery new member” version has the janken senbatsu single “Eien Pressure” playing in the background, but the content is a familiar one of AKB48 members singing and dancing and turning into dolls at the end after eating Puccho. This time, however, there is a surprise in the form of “a mystery member” mixed in among the dancing and singing members. The highlights of the 2 types of the CM are the mystery members hidden in each.
In the 1st one, Kojima Haruna, who wasn’t in the janken senbatsu, makes an appearance. Kojima was the only member to have made the senbatsu in all the singles, but she didn’t make it in for this one after losing in the janken taikai. The plot of the CM is that Kojima, who supposedly lost, comes out of nowhere and the other members confront her.
In the 2nd one, Mie from Pink Lady makes an appearance. She wears the same outfit as AKB48 and dances. A dream collaboration between idols of the past and present is materialized.
The filming took place on October 25th at a studio in town. Because of the news of a mystery member as a costar, AKB48 were a little more nervous than usual, but once they found out that it was Mie, they were surprised. The nervous expressions at first gradually melted away, and they performed the dance with Mie in perfect sync, like she was a real member. Mie, in turn, made the choreography her own in no time, and the filming concluded without a hitch.

I don't like how every generation has to have its ace. I mean, just let it evolve naturally.
HKT48 is finally up and coming and a lot of people like girls like Sakura, Haruppi, Chihori, etc... Why force new girls on us so quickly.
I'm not blown away by Meru TBH. Her Mayu impersonations weren't funny or good. She even failed the monoboke during Sae's Hyakkaten. Actually, everything she does comes across as condescending, like she's a bit full of herself. At least she has confidence, but yeah, she doesn't deserve the centre spot in HKT48's first original song. [/rant]

At the announcement of SKE48's 11th single during Yokohama Handshake event, the MV of Tsuyogari Tokei was screened. According to some comments here (http://sakaeandfrog.tumblr.com/post/35955809789/ske48-11th-single), Kitarie gets more screen time in it than SKE's top two, WMatsui. Maybe Aki-P is trying to push her as SKE member?

So, based on the information I have thus far, the hierarchy I think is currently:
NMB: Sayanee, Milky > Yuihan =or> Nana > Aina, Fuuko.
Fans seem to be accepting of this lineup. :)
HKT: Meru > Sakura, Haruppi > Sasshi, Aika > Annya, Natsumi, Wakatabe, Madoka, etc.
I sense controversy looming.. :(
SKE: Rie >or=or< WMatsui; but Rie > Churi seems like the case.
I sense a lot of controversy looming! :panic:
Imo, the purpose of NMB, HKT, & SKE here is to provide supporting fire to ensure Paru-centered Eien Pressure can be propelled above the million marks. If such is the case, than wouldn't it make more sense to ensure there are as little controversies as possible, to ensure fans of the respective reinforcement groups are happy to support this single? What that is happening right now sounds somewhat counter-productive toward this end imo. NMB is an exception thou.
Something more sensible to me would be:
HKT: Sakura, Haruppi > Sasshi, Aika > (Meru somewhere) Annya, Natsumi, Wakatabe, Madoka, etc.
Follow the SKE & NMB model in establishing double centre with Haruppi + Sakura.
SKE: WMatsui > Churi > Rie > etc.
Basically follows the current NMB model.

--> Like I said before, I would absolutely hate a Meru center from now on in HKT48. She doesn't deserve it and it ruins the chemistry of the group. Even Sasshi and Lovetan didn't get center when they transferred, so screw this. The crowd loves Sakura, let her do it for the time being.
SKE48: I comfess I'm not a Rie fan. I can live with her transfer since she's from Aichi and all, but I don't want her above W Matsui, or even above Akane. Actually, Akane's position during the election already suffered from the other SKE48 members (Suda, Hata, Yuria, etc) becoming more and more popular. I'd like Rie to take a similar position as Sasshi in HKT48, behind the front line.
As far as the single goes, I reckon they are just experimenting with these line-ups to check the reactions and to see how it works out within the groups. It makes more sense to do that with this single, rather then with their own respective releases.
tl/dr: Yui in NMB48 good. Other shifts bad. lol

SKE48:Oh man.. seriously...for me is just sad that Kitarie got the position of Churi
You know..Churi is the soul of KII and was working so hard for that 3rd spot, why put Kitarie there?
About the screentime I'll say something after watch the pv. (Not that a I dislike Kitarie for some reason..but this situation is just unfair to me.)
NMB48: I'm fine here, Yuihan fits perfectly there
HKT48: Well..I prefer Sakura or Haruppi as a center, but Meru is not that bad there. (Sasshi and Lovetan as 4th and 5th was the correct choice for me)

That would make the plan to increase sales by including them totally backfire and may even decrease further sales of 48 singles
Most likely what will is that she is either in Churi's position or alongside her, which is not surprising since she does rank higher than all members other than WMatsui and that is where Yui is for NMB
As for the PV also being focused on Rie, we'll just have to wait and see but

NMB48- Yui has fit in so well so far, it is just another example of Yui magic. Now you see her , now you don't- meaning she has beccome a very welcome addition without dominating. Maachun is my favorite, but I think she fits in well in the second group, but I would like to see Nana given a bit more prominence.
HKT48- Meru? No, not now..........Other girls have worked really hard, and deserve the higher positions. I would say Haruppi as your hard working front person (ala Takamina) and Sakura as your glamour ace (such as Mayu), and then you have a solid group of five or six girls that should have more exposure than that given to a newcomer. Also, big props to how Sasshi has fit into the group, she has brought the needed exposure to the team, without sucking all of the oxygen out of the room with her own stardom.
SKE48- If Rie can be brought in such as how Sasshi and Yui have been brought into HKT48 and NMB48, that would work best. Let's face it WMatsui are pretty much being shared with AKB48, so SKE48 have already done their part for the team. As others suggest, there are a host of girls who are SKE48 regulars who need to get the limelight along with Rie, not take a second postion to her. However, I am a big Rie fan, and I think whatever part of this that she controls, she will do a good job and have a good sense of how to fit in.

This just occurred to me, but what if Meru's center position is just to slap Tsunku in the face? I wonder if such rivalry exists between the producers. Meru was dropped from the final ten girls in the 10th generation Morning Musume audition. Aki-P scooped her up, she's been given a make-over and some training, add some hype and go!
That aside, there is no reason legit enough to do this. They managed to pull it off with Jurina in Oogoe Diamond at the time, but they got lucky since Jurina is actually pretty amazing :lol: From what I've seen so far Meru isn't exactly a good vocalist or dancer, but those qualities aren't necessary in the world of idols to become center... :nervous :lol:

The thought that Meru is being pushed a a little dig from one producer to another did occur to me as well.
Yuki and all of the other AKB48 & sister group members who either tried out and failed for Hello Project groups, or at least who were big fans of H!P acts.........maybe we will see something similar in 10 years or so...... all these girls in some new dominant idol family proclaiming how they were big fans of AKB48 back in the day...........

Akane is one of my favorites, and she's worked hard to earn her position in the group. Seeing her lose that just because another girl transferred in saddens me. Thing is, I like Rie though, so I hope this doesn't make me like her less; since it isn't her fault that management made this decision.
HKT48: I don't really follow HKT that much, but I would think having the girl who got the most votes in the election would be a better choice as center for their first real song & PV combo.

It's possible but there have been other members that failed Momusu auditions and joined AKB but haven't had a push like this (Yukirin, Su-chan possibly others)
Instead this means the center of HKT was someone who was deemed not good enough to be part of Momusu :?
We know that Yukirin is more than good enough now but even so its not exactly the most encouraging image for a group about to release a debut single :nervous
Obviously this all depends on the success of their 1st single but it seems like an unnecessary move :nervous

AKB48 has formed “OKL48” with comedic duo NINETY-NINE’s Okamura Takashi (42).
Okamura, dressed up as “OKALEMON“, a popular character from Fuji TV’s popular variety show “Mecha-Mecha Iketeru!“. He will serve as the center and 15 AKB48 members including Oshima Yuko (24) and Watanabe Mayu (18) will also dress up as lemons. OKL48’s original song will be included as a coupling song in AKB48’s upcoming single “Eien Pressure”, which goes on sale on December 5th.
15 members who lost in AKB48’s 3rd Annual Janken Tournament that took place back in September were chosen to be part of the group. They dressed in white tights and wore a mask and skirt to create the unique look of lemons. Member Ichikawa Miori (18) who is known for her catch-phrase “I want to become a fresh lemon.”, was also chosen as a member of OKL48.
OKL48 will make their first appearance on the December 1st for a 2-hour special episode of the “Mecha-Mecha Iketeru!” (begins at 7 PM.) OKL48’s comical dance is definitely not to be missed.

My thoughts are fairly in line with what has been said here.
I don't dig Meru being such a big part of the HKT48 song. She's not interesting and hasn't management learned by now that these random pushes of unknowns only work out if the girl is... you know, good? Let Sakura, Haruppi and the gang do their thing.

100% agree. Even in Kitagawa Kenji, it felt like she's been in the group forever. It didn't even feel like anyone was pushed aside for her. Worked out quite well.

Once again, 100% agree. Being 100% open this is oshi bias. If Rie trumps Akane from here on out, it will completely obliterate my Rie fandom. It'll fucking kill it. It would kill pretty much any fandom of any girl management puts there to do that. I am not even making a joke. Akane earned her spot of her own accord. Management tried, downright desperately, so make Mukaida the "ace" of Team KII and no matter how many times they put her on the KII DVD spines and shit, the fans chose Akane. And for management to stick any bitch in there in front of her... nuh uh, I will hate it. I'm hoping that won't be the case and Rie's insertion will be as well done as Yui's to NMB. To be honest, though, as much as I like her, I don't think she deserves to be up front, or even close honestly. Like others have said, an HKT Sasshi-ish place would be good.
Obviously, I'll wait and see it for myself, but yeah. Hopefully it's not that dramatic. :nervous

So, I think all the mvs are out! :)
What do you think about it?
Here's my personal opinions (in no particular order):
Eien Pressure: I think the mv is really well done & very unique! Usually, I dislike long intro scene in a mv before the music actually starts, but for once I prefer the intro scenes over the main music parts. There's was also a lot of lol moments in the mv too, such as the Yukirin x Yui moment (is yuki a wolf here or something?), the Tomochin ninja moment (very cool, & lol it seems like she's going out with some sort of Exile guy), & the Mariko-sama moment give me Trick (drama) vibe! It also seems to me like most (or all) members got at least adequate (a few seconds) of screen time. Albeit the song is not my favourite of the bunch (but its still good), & I still think Paruru can improve on her dancing move (a little bit too robotic for me), overall, very well done!
Hatsukoi butterfly: Althou I still prefer wcentre with Haruppi + Sakura over Meru, the mv by itself I like very much. I like the dance, I like the uniforms & costumes, & I think the story is pretty cute. lol at Haruppi's little bro getting fished by Meru! (A loli being a lolicon over a even younger loli?!) I think it would have been even better if they give a little more screen time to the original HKT members, as to me it gives Sasshi & Lovetan a little too much screen time. Nonetheless, I think Lovetan & Sasshi blend in rather fine.
HA!: Epic & awesome! It fully show off the characteristic of NMB, which for me, is: a bit of subtle sexiness, subtle gangster reference, & unparalleled dancing that can make even simple move look good. Methink screen time was divided rather fairly among the core members, & Yui like last time blend in really really well! The inter-mending of a quasi-movie story line with the mv is very neat & nicely done to, althou some might prefer a mv that can allow NMB to showcase more of their superb dancing. All in all, I like it.
Tsuyogari Tokei: In my humble opinion this is the least impressive mv of all the original songs mv. Regarding the prior rumour about this being the worst mv possible & stuff, well its not that bad imo, but far from good too unfortunately. The talking intro with Churi, Yuria, & Non was waaaaaaay way too long for my liking. The immense amount of crying scenes is not something to my favour too. I don't think Rie took up the rumour amount of time in the mv (half or 1/3?), but it was still much more so than other non-wmatsui SKE original members. Rie is also place ahead of Chuir in the formation it seems. IMHO, this resulted in Rie not blending into SKE at all, & she somewhat stand out in a weird way unfortunately. The screen time allocation was terrible imo, there was very little screen time for the non-talking, non-wMatsui & non-Rie SKE members, & it was really really bad for Kumin, & I barely saw her at all! The dance looks kind of cool, but execution could use some improvement. The song is okay for me. So overall I think of it below the above-mentioned mvs.
Eien Yori Tsuzuku Yō ni: Almost forgot about this one... :nervous I still find the lemon head weird. :lol: The same goes for that Mechaike guy lol, but he's fairly ignore-able so it fine. Overall, for me, the song is alright, the mv is kind of interesting too. Since I heard this Mechaike guy's show is fairly influential I guess this is a superb marketing move. So overall I guess it nice but not great.
Team B Oshi: The video quality is kinda bad unfortunately, but it looks pretty creative to me. Members screen time seems fair (I guess it hard to not be so with this particular song lol.) This mv will be notable I think for likely being Yuka's & Natsuki's last appearance on an mv. In hindsight, it make a good farewell choice I guess.
First Rabbit: Not much to say, a little bit elegant, with a very standard lineup. Otherwise it a very standard mv too. For me it is lightly above average but not great nonetheless.
Sakura no Hanabiratachi Solo: It looks like mostly cuts from previously-existing footage, make sense I guess but it is possible to be better. I think they did fine incorporating some of the other members into the scene, & lol at the Tomochin-cake drop moment! Pretty good, but I don't have much to say about it.
Totteoki Christmas: I actually forgotten about this one... :nervous I guess that's what happens when you have so much mvs. :lol: I find the song to be okay, but I quite like the scenes taken. The costumes are cute too. Not much to say otherwise.

With all the B-sides revealed its time to review :panic:
Eien Pressure:Not convinced about the song itself, still struggling to remember the tune, but the mv was a nice surprise. I quite like the idea for the story and it was carried out nicely but the thing that stood out were individual moments of brilliance iwa at the waterfall, ninja Tomochin and Yukirin trying to join Yui in the shower (random but totally worth it). Overall I think its a okay song which for me has been overshadowed by its mv and to an extent the B-sides but I'll get to that.
Tsuyogari Tokei (SKE):Seemed to take forever for any information for this song to appear but the wait was certainly worth it. :twothumbs
People seemed to be very negative about the mv and I can understand why there was this reaction but I genuinely loved it! The scenes that were just focused on the girls crying were a little different from what we're used to and may seem strange to people I thought it actually worked quite well with the song. As for the song itself I have to say this is the favourite out of the entire single, really like the cool "Team K" sort of style to the song.
HA! (NMB):Really impressed with the mv for the song, the best in the entire single. The idea of it being a film trailer for NMB's Majisuka equivalent was genius, all the girls looked absolutely dynamite and the girls dancing on the barge down the canal, its almost as if they spent more on production for this instead of the actual single. The mv was so impressive that I almost forgot about the song which isn't really fair since its actually quite catchy and I certainly can't stop listening to it.
Hatsukoi Butterfly (HKT):So their first original song comes with a center controversy which is a shame. I can't really judge since I don't know a huge amount about the girls but seeing this performance I don't really see what merits Meru her position above Haruppi or Sakura. Still nice cute song and cute mv doing a good job of showcasing the freshness of this young group. Good start and look forward to their debut.
Eien Yori Tsuzuku Youni (OKL): Well this is a strange one... The song isn't much to talk about but then I don't think that was ever going to be the case with the fact that the girls are joined by Okamura from Ninety-nine in a lemon suit XD
Its all quite gimmicky but considering the popularity of Ninety-nine the single will certainly benefit from this being one of coupling songs.
Team B Oshi, Sakura no Hanabiratachi & First Rabbit: Not a huge amount to say about these. Team B was what you would expect, showing off each member of the team. Sakura no Hanabiratachi was touching and First Rabbit was nice and elegant but neither really stood out and I would have preferred other stage songs to have had a music video but these videos were still a nice touch
For me I would rank the songs in this order:
Tsuyogari Tokei > HA! > Hatsukoi Butterfly > Eien Pressure > Eien Yori Tsuzuku You ni

HA! was excellent specially the dance part on the barge! Sugoi! looked too much like some sort of movie trailer :lol:
Eien Pressure has some good Yui-yuki parts :drool: but I was expecting more... :O Tomochin ninja :inlove: and Mariko princess :wub: excellent :twothumbs but the other parts were kind of too plain like usual Janken singles... :yawn:
Hatsukoi Butterfly nice and upbeat song... Fair enough for HKT's CD debut. Haruppi's brother agreed to lend her the room so quickly XD Then he fell for Meru? :shocked :lol: (I cant find words to express how much I LOL'd on that) :on lol:
There's the Christmas song as usual... XD I want more Ricchan screentime... :( and why include Paruru again in this too? Makes no sense...
OKL48 :lol: Mocchi, Annin and Reinyan! :cow: These members got parts... fair enough...

Eien Pressure: This was great. Funny PV with all sorts of little jokes and references. Yuki totally out of character while trying to get close to Yui was awesome. Nice amount of screen time for the other girls as well. I dig the song too. Best Janken single ever.
Totteoki Christmas: Idols x Xmas is always guaranteed cuteness. They girls all look great, both in their individual scenes and in their classy red dresses. The song is pretty good for an idol Xmas song! Is it me or is Yui quite prominent in the mix? Seems to be a bit of a trend lately; Acchan gone = More Yui vocals?
SKE48 - Tsuyogari Tokei: Need subs for the long ass intro scene. Anna grew up. Rena getting slapped in the face... AGAIN. lol. Clock choreography? It's been done. SKE48 is the group I followed from the very beginning and quite intensively. They've been my fav group for a long time, but lately we've been growing apart. The songs and member line-ups have been less appealing to me somehow. Anyway, I can appreciate the melancholy in this PV. The song has some good parts too, but I'm not sure if I'll listen to this song a lot.
NMB48 - HA!: Not only do we get nine PVs, they are hella long too. Milky's enjoying this a bit too much, haha. The song isn't really my style, but it fits the "NMB48 Sound." Great visuals during the dancing scene. More Yui. Good stuff.
HKT48 - Hatsukoi Butterfly: Man, HKT48 looks so young. Cute PV, good choreography and I quite like the song too. I wish I could get passed the Meru push. I know this is the way it goes, but I don't see much potential in her. People draw comparisons between this and Ogoe Diamond, but this is nothing like that imo. That aside, it's quite uncanny how well Sasshi fits in with this group of U16 year olds :lol:
OKL48 - Eien yori Tsuduku yo ni: Yeah... lol. The Mechaike was a tad disappointing. Basically a Paruru special, where I was hoping for something the scale of the old MM Field Trip Special. Still good though. This song isn't even half bad either.
First Rabbit: I love this song, probably my favorite one from the album. The girls all look great (even though I don't recognize one of them...), but the PV is very simple. A room with some Dali-esque stuff? It deserved more.
Team B Oshi: The entire thing looks a bit out of focus/misty which sucks. Not sure what to think about the PV. Nice references which showcase the girl's image and past, but the whole thing doesn't feel like one proper PV somehow. Maybe that's due to the gazillion outfits they used in this PV, which is actually a good thing... So yeah, mixed feelings. It's not bad.
Maeda Atsuko - Sakura no Hanabira: Very nice montage of some classic Acchan moments. In combination with the song it makes for one sad experience, which underlines how important Acchan has been for the group.
In conclusion, based on the song and PV combination I think my favorite is actually Eien Pressure XD

AKB48’s 29th single “Eien Pressure” (released on December 5th) a song in which the winner of the “3rd Janken tournament”, Shimazaki Haruka served as the center for the first time, sold 1,073,000 copies in the first week. With this result, the single topped Oricon’s weekly single chart for the week of December 17th. This is their 10th consecutive single (and 11 singles in total) to sell over a million copies.
This new record allowed AKB48 to become the first female artist to sell a million copies for 10 consecutive singles, and this is the first time in 16 and a half years for any artist to achieve this since B’z accomplished this back in 1996.
Moreover, the group is now second all-time for the “total number of million-selling singles” after B’z whose record is 15 singles in total. They have also broken their own records for the “number of consecutive chart-topping singles” as well as the “total number of chart-topping singles” for a female group.
