It’s been decided that we will hold the “Watanabe Mayu’s 4th single launch illustration contest~Your illustration will become the cover for the new song-Mayuyu” from April 26 (Fri), cooperated with Sony Music Records.
This contest is to celebrate the launch of Watanabe Mayu’s 4th single which has been decided to release on July, 2013. The winning work will be used as the CD cover for the Limited Edition, and will also be published in the illustration book included in the limited edition.

If I translated it correctly, on the article AkiP said yesterday Mayuyu had her 4th solo recording, and during that time Mayuyu point out some mistakes and AkiP has to rewrite it all over again
Title is ラッパ練習中 (Rappa Renshuuchuu) [Currently Practicing Trumpet]
It's going to be the song for her edition of the new variety [Real Dasshutsu Game] and she's the first idol to get a main character in it. The show is an interactive viewer experience and everyone watching gets to play it live (with their remote d buttons) to change the storyline of the show! Her episode is called "Save Mayuyu from the Prison Amusement Park!." The song will be the theme of the episode. She's a mahou shoujo in it.
It's actually an attraction and it'll be up for 2 months at Tokyo Dome City, you'll have to go there to play it. I don't know if they'll air it on TV after it's done, but they did the old ones so probably!

Mahou Shoujo (Magic Girl/Witch), Mayuyu.
Mayuyu's magic has the power to grant everyone happiness.

The cover art for AKB48 member Watanabe Mayu's new solo single "Rappa Renshuchu" that is set for release on July 10, have been revealed. This will mark Watanabe's 4th solo single, and is the first release in about 8 months since her previous solo single "Hikarumonotachi."
"Rappa Renshuchu" will come in five different editions; complete limited production edition, limited-time production edition, limited edition A & B, and regular edition.
The cover art for the complete limited production edition adopted the best work of the illustration contest which was held through illustration sharing site "pixiv", and other four editions were directed by Fantasista Utamaro.
The limited-time production edition is a collaboration cover jacket with the attraction "Rogoku Yuenchi kara Mayuyu wo Sukue!!! in Tokyo Dome City Attractions", which the title track was created for. The limited edition A, B, and the regular edition feature Watanabe with Oreskaband who Watanabe collaborated for the title track.

The long-awaited 4th single “Rappa Renshuuchuu” will be release on July 10! As the title contains the word “Rappa” (trumpet), the song this time features the brass sound.
Mayu: Yeah! There are also onomatopoeias of the trumpet like “♪Parappa Parapa” put in the lyrics. The song is from the point of view of a boy, and it’s comparing the beating of his chest when he fell in love to the sound of the trumpet. My 3rd single “Hikarumonotachi’ has an inorganic image, but the song this time is a summer-like lovely pop song!
Furthermore, you collaborated with the all-girl brass rock band “OreSka Band”!
Mayu: We also shot the MV together, but I’ve always been “alone” in my solo work, so I felt like I’ve made some friends (laughs). We were able to have an exciting time like “Wa―!” with only girls, so it was really interesting!
What is the content of the MV?
Mayu: People from a lot of eras use the trumpet of their own era to perform and compete with each other, from Primitive men to medieval people, until modern people, that’s the content. With that storyline, the outfits are also very girlish.
And this song is also decided to be the tie-up song for the real escape game “Save Mayuyu from the prison amusement part!!! in Tokyo Dome City Attractions” which starts from July 27!
Mayu: It’s so amazing that a game is made with my name in it. When I heard the talk about this, I was like “To think something like would actually happen in reality!”, I couldn’t believe it. Furthermore, the summer vacation period is the time when the kids will gather the most in a year! I’m so extremely happy.
The content of the attraction is in order to save the legendary magical girl – Mayuyu from the prison amusement park, the participant has to solve the mysteries while moving on. For Mayuyu, what kind of image do you have about magical girls?
Mayu: It’s like the song “Niji iro Kuma Kuma” which Ranka-chan sang in the anime movie “Gekijouban Macross Frontier”! …..and HEY, I’m too enthusiastic with this song like a maniac, huh? But for me, magical girl is like Ranka-chan or “Magical DoReMi” or “Creamy Mami”, all has this “The girl transforms into a cute one” kind of image. Every girl must once dream that “I want to become a magical girl!”, so to put me into that “Magical girl frame” is so dreadful (laughs).
No no, there’s no one that’s so suitable with that role like you! Then, if Mayuyu turned into a magical girl, what would you do?
Mayu: Uh~m… I want to control time! For example, you have some very interesting times that you think “I don’t want this time to end!”, right? I would cast a spell “Time, stop now!” on times like that. Though everyone except me would also be stopped with time, so I would be the only one who can enjoy the time (laughs).
Then lastly, what do you want to challenge in private in this summer?
Mayu: This year is my teenage years’ last summer. That’s why I want to go to the mountains, the rivers and the beaches which I didn’t go much before and enjoy actively! I want to go with all members in my family. I love my family!!

The Sound of the Trumpet is the Beating Heart of a Boy in Love
The 4th single which is released on 7/10, when the lyrics were done, it seems like you corrected Akimoto-sensei.
-It’s not like I corrected him, the first impression was just different from the song I imagined. It was comical, and I couldn’t imagine myself singining and dancing to it. I mailed him “Up until now I’ve had orthodox idol songs so I still want to go with orthodox idol songs"
Was the title “Rappa Renshuuchuu" from the start?
- No, the title and the contents were different. After I sent the mail, the lyrics this time came! The hook “Papara Papara Papapa~ra" as a whole struck me as a really cute song.
The “Papara~" sound of the trumpet is the main boy’s beating heart, right?
-That’s right! He wants to confess to the waitress he loves, but he couldn’t muster up the courage and orders cola and refills instead. That action “Renshuu" is compared to “Rappa Renshuuchuu." It’s a song that reminds you of that scene and the summer sun so I also sing it refreshingly and cheerfully. The brass is gorgeously inserted into the song, and I was happy that I had a collab with brass rock band called OreSka Band which consists of 6 girls. I was also in the wind instrument club during middle school.
Ah. What was your part?
- It was the euphonium. The costume matched with OreSka Band-san and with the shirt and the ribbon, it unexpectedly also had a waitress style!
There were lots of colorful costumes so the monotone is fresh.
- Speaking of fresh, when I recorded the second song “Seifuku Identity" it was a song that I haven’t sung until now and so I thought “Ohh! This is new!" Until now I’ve had a lot of cutesy songs, so I honestly love these types of cool songs.
The lyrics had “When I strip off my seifuku", about a year ago when you actually stripped off your seifuku when you graduated high school, has anything changed?
- I grew conscious as a working adult. So I thought that had to firmly show my individuality and identity. Especially working in a large group AKB48, how much can I produce myself? has become really important. In that sense, I’m really glad that I’m able to have solo activies. Since my solo debut, my “I want to do this" ideals have become clear, and I feel like I’ve been able to say my own opinions.
Well then, from now on, what’s your goal as a solo artist?
-I think there are a lot of people who know AKB48 songs but haven’t listened to each member’s unit or solo songs. In order to let people know about Watanabe Mayu as a solo artist, I want to try my best more and more.

風がかなーり強い日だったので、、屋上で撮影したんですが、結構大変でした！！

AKB48の渡辺麻友が24日、都内にて行われたイベント「牢獄遊園地からまゆゆを救え！！！ in 東京ドームシティ アトラクションズ」発表会に出席した。
AKB48’s Watanabe Mayu attended the “Save Mayuyu from the prison amusement park!!! in Tokyo Dome City Attractions" press conference held on July 24 within Tokyo.
22日に同グループを卒業した篠田麻里子のことを聞かれた渡辺は、「昔からお世話になっていた先輩です。メンバー1人1人のことを考えてくれていた優しい先輩でした」と悲しげにコメント。卒業の話を聞いたときの心境を聞かれた渡辺は「寂しかったです。でも、麻里子さまは自分の夢に向かった前向な卒業なので、応援しています」と正直に語った。
Being asked about Shinoda Mariko who graduated from the same group with her on July 22, Watanabe commented sadly “She’s a senpai who has been taken care of me for a long time. She was a very kind senpai who always think about every single member." Then, being asked about her feelings after hearing about the graduation, “I was sad. But it is a positive graduation in which Mariko-sama is heading towards her dream, so I’ll support her",said Watanabe honestly.
篠田の卒業公演の終演後、篠田が「チームAのみんな！AKB48をよろしくね」と後輩に呼びかけ、それを聞いたチームAメンバーは「私たちで頑張っていこうね」と話し合ったことを明かした渡辺。「団結しました」と力強く語った。
Watanabe revealed, after Shinoda’s graduation performance had ended, Shinoda called upon the kouhai “Everyone in team A! I’ll leave AKB48 to you", and after hearing that, the Team A members said “Let’s do our best together". She said strongly “We’ve united".

Thanks to TDC I went to the cafe in Tokyo Dome City that has a cross promotion. I got the Mayu cakes and miracle drink. I sat in the only open seat in the cafe.
It just happened the people sitting next to me were two of the Escape game designers. One spoke fluent English. She said since it had so much Japanese I would probably have trouble (you really need to have a much higher reading level than I do, or a very good electronic dictionary and a good grasp of grammar) and she would come with me.
Yes, I did the entire Mayu Escape game with one of the designers tonight.
It was freaking amazing having Mayu thank me for helping her escape. The puzzle is awesome and awesome fun. Watanabe Mayu “Your thoughts about your solo work, what have you grown up at!?”
Watanabe Mayu, also known as “Mayuyu” whose last single ranked 1st on weekly single ranking for the first time, and is keeping her good performance. While her popularity is increasing, she releases her 4th single “Rappa Renshuuchuu”, the 1st single in year 2013 after about 8 months! Here she told us straight about the “criticizing”-Akimoto-Yasushi-san incident (?) or the collaboration with OreSka band, her feelings about the new song which has been a hot topic before its release for sure, and even her feelings towards AKB48 and her solo career.
The hook of the song is cute and catchy, and the song is also very lovely, so I’m glad.
――Your 4th single’s name, “Rappa Renshuuchuu” has quite a strong impact.
[Watanabe Mayu] When I first looked at the title, I thought like “Why is it Rappa Renshuuchuu?” (laugh). But when I looked at the lyrics, I understood why.
――This is a refreshing summer song, but how do you, Mayuyu, understand the word “Rappa” (Trumpet) or the lyrics?
[Watanabe] Well… I think the hook “Papala Papala～” is the comparison between the sound of the trumpet with the heartbeat, and “Renshuuchuu” (Practicing) is a step to confess to a girl who is working at a family restaurant.
――Your last single “Hikaru Monotachi” was the 1st one of all your solo singles to be ranked 1st on weekly single ranking. So do you feel any pressures this time?
[Watanabe] Rather than pressures, I have to do my best so that more people will listen to it. I think there are lots of people who hear AKB48’s songs, but still haven’t heard any solo or unit songs.
――We would like to talk about you “criticizing” Akimoto Yasushi-san when this song were being decided…
[Watanabe] Before “Rappa Renshuuchuu”, I received different lyrics, but it was a little comical. After I had re-read and thought for many times, I told him straight that “I still want to sing orthodox idol-like songs”. After that, “Rappa Renshuuchuu” lyrics was immediately sent to my (via mail), and I was surprised (laugh). The hook of the song is cute and catchy, and overall it is a very lovely song, so I’m glad.
――Please tell us your thoughts after performing with OreSka band.
[Watanabe] I had been playing euphonium in wind instruments club in middle school, so I felt familiar and I was happy! It was a great honor to have a chance to perform with a brass rock band who plays in both in and outside the country, and with the brass sound adding more liveliness, it becomes a very exciting song.
Challenged to play trumpet for bonus video――I graded myself 78 points
――What are your highlights about this music video which can make viewers become more dreamy and energetic?
[Watanabe] Throughout my solo career, I have performed with Nogizaka46 once, but I have never collaborated with music artists. Everyone looks really cool just by holding the instruments. I also hold a trumpet as one of the members, but I don’t really look good (bitter laugh). The “Horn Queen” outfit (laugh), with the designs of musical instruments put on the dress, is also cute so I want everyone to see. For the hook, everyone becomes the members of OreSka band, and I join everyone wearing a monotone outfit. But there were a lot of outfits with bright colors in my solo singles before, so this one is very new.
――For the bonus video, you bought a trumpet with your own money?
[Watanabe] Yes (laugh). In wind instruments club in middle school, my friends were the ones who played trumpet, so I got to use it a little bit, but after that… … about 7 years later, I got to use the trumpet again. The size of its mouthpiece is different from euphonium so it was really difficult; especially I had a hard time playing high notes. Also I only had 1 hour to practice (sweat). Still, the result of my practice was shown after a short time given, so I would like to grade myself 78 points for that performance (laugh).
――The coupling songs, starting with “Seifuku Identity”, are also variegated.
[Watanabe] “Seifuku Identity” is of the type where it has up-tempo and a cool melody, also I have to sing with a loud voice, but I haven’t sung many songs of that type before. So at first when I heard this song, “Can I manage to sing it?”, such an uneasiness flashed in my head for an instant. But, I also thought that I want to sing rock songs like this, so I challenged to sing it and I was very happy about that.
―― On the other hand, you could say that the contents of “Kyoujou na Junjou” is like a student song, right?
[Watanabe] Songs about a girl in her rebellious period when she is still a student like this song, in all coupling songs in my singles up until now… … starting with “Shinjuku Yuutousei”, I sing them quite a lot so it was easy to imagine the song in my head. I frowned while singing it (laugh). This song is also of the cool type, so I challenged to a different singing style with usual. Recently, I usually suggest director-san specifically “I think I should sing like this at this part”, and we build up that part while talking about it.
――There was a public contest for CD’s cover design?
[Watanabe] Yes. There were more than 1000 applicants, and I had looked at all of their works. “They must have drawn with all their heart”, all of them all passed this feeling to me, so I felt really grateful. All were very fascinating works, so I couldn’t decide… … At the end, I chose based on “Which designs can make you happy if you line them up in your shop?”, that kind of viewpoint. And the final decisive factor was, it is colorful and has a cute drawing, also it fits the bright and lively world view of the song.
――Do you think your awareness as a solo artist has got stronger?
[Watanabe] Maybe. The me before, even if I thought “I want to do it like this”, I didn’t know how to express it by words… … But recently, I have finally seen that “They will understand if I do it like this”. For the first time I feel that I’ve grown up strongly in my solo career at that part. In such a meaning, I’m glad that I was able to start my solo career.

最初は、久々のソロライブという事でその緊張と、初披露曲がいくつかあったのでそれらがちゃんとできるかという不安があって本番前にドキドキし過ぎて大変な事になってしまっていたのですが、いざライブが始まってステージに上がったら皆さんの笑顔が見えた瞬間に一気に気持ちが落ち着きました(^^)
At first, my tension as this is my solo live after a long time, and there were songs that would be performed for the first time, so I was worried if I could perform all of them well. Before the performance, I got so nervous and it became a serious matter. But when the live began and I came on stage, I calmed down instantly when I could see everyone’s smiles(^^)
やっぱり、私はみんなの笑顔が大好きだと改めて実感しました！
Once again I realized that I love everyone’s smiles, after all!
タイトルにもあるように、Mayu’sレストランという事でステージのセットもレストランをモチーフにしたとっても可愛いセットでした！
Mayu’s Restaurant, as written in the title, so the setting for the stage was also in the theme of a restaurant and it was a cute set!
そして、なんとオープニングではレストランのウェイトレスさんをモチーフにして作っていただいた新衣装を着ました！
Also, for the opening I wore the new outfits which was designed in the theme of a restaurant’s waitress!
この新衣装が、とにかく！ほんっっとうに可愛いのです(*^◯^*)早く見てほいなぁ～

そして、本日はスペシャルゲストの方がお二人いらっしゃって下さいました！
And, there were two special guests came today!
前回のシングル「ヒカルものたち」のアレンジを担当して下さった、八王子Pさん！
HajiojiP-san who was in charge of the arrangement for my previous single “Hikarumonotachi”!
そして、以前のソロライブでもキーボードを演奏していただいた、ARISAさん！
And ARISA-san who played the keyboard at my solo lives before!
私のお着替えタイムでは、八王子Pさんの素敵なDJタイムで会場も大盛り上がりでしたー！
During the time when I was changing clothes, the whole venue got very excited by HajiojiP-san’s wonderful DJ time~!
ARISAさんの素晴らしい演奏に乗せてのバラードも、かなり緊張しましたが皆さんのペンライトの光がとっても綺麗でリラックスして歌えました♪
The balad songs which I performed along with ARISA-san’s wonderful performance, I was quite nervous at that part but the light from everyone’s penlights was very beautiful so I was able to relax and sing♪

ピンクのお花柄の可愛い浴衣を着て歌わせていただきました！
I sang wearing a cute pink floral design yukata!
今年の夏は、あまり夏らしい事ができなかったので、、、少し遅くなっちゃったけど夏を満喫できた気がしてよかった～
I couldn’t really do summer-like things this summer…so though it was late, I felt like I’d enjoyed this summer and I was glad~
でも、残念ながら時間が無くて浴衣まゆゆ写真が撮れなかったのです（；＿；）ごめんなさい、、！
But, unfortunately I didn’t have time so I couldn’t take pictures of Yukata Mayuyu（；＿；）Sorry…!
夜の部では、
For the night performance,
まさかまさかの「サバの缶詰」を初披露しました、、、皆さんの前で歌う日が来るとはっ！
To everyone’s surprise, I performed “Saba no kanzume” for the first time…to think a day when I would sing this song in front of everyone would come!
歌中は懐かしの宇佐しじみの役に入り込んだので後半少々力み過ぎた気もしましたが、こんなまゆゆが観れるのもMayu’s レストランならではなのです！
While I was singing, I felt like being the old Usa Shijimi role so I think I got a little strained at the second half, but you can only see this Mayuyu at Mayu’s Restaurant!
また、いつか、、、どこかで歌えたらいいな、、笑
It’d be good if I could sing it again…at somewhere, someday…(laugh)
そして！
And!
アンコールの「シンクロときめき」では、直筆のサインとメッセージを入れたカラーボールを投げました！

9月1日の愛知県の稲沢市民会館からスタートしましたが、昨日の9月16日の大宮ソニックシティで全4公演、無事に終了いたしました~！！いえーい！！
Started from September 1 at Aichi Prefecture’s Inazawa Shimin Kaikan, to Ōmiya Sonic City yesterday, September 16, all 4 live performances have ended successfully~! Ya~y!!

特に昨日は、荒天の中にも関わらず、あんなに沢山のファンの方々が来てくれたこと、本人スタッフともども、本当に感謝しております。
Especially yesterday, so many fans came in spite of the stormy weather. The staff are all really grateful.
ということで、今日の写真は、今回のソロライブのために新しく作ったMayu’sレストラン、ウエイトレス衣装まゆゆ！！

頭にはコーヒーカップ、背中にはなんとスプーンがっ！！！！
There’s a coffee cup on her head, and a spoon on her back!!!!
そして、本人が一番気に入っているというブルーとホワイトのストライプのシャツ！！
And a striped shirt with blue and white color, in which she likes the best!!

当日は台風の影響で、飛行機が欠航になってしまったり新幹線が止まってしまったり電車のダイヤが乱れてしまった為、第一部の開演を1時間遅らせていただきました。
Because of the typhoon, flights were canceled, the shinkansen railways were stopped and the train’s schedule was disrupted, therefore the opening time for the 1st performance was delayed for 1 hour.
大変お足元の悪い中お越し下さった皆様、本当に本当にありがとうございました！
Everyone who came despite the bad weather, thank you very very much!
沢山の方に来ていただけて、しあわせな気持ちでいっぱいです！
There were many people came, and it makes me fill with lots of happiness!

ウェイトレスさんをモチーフにした衣装になっていまして、頭にコーヒーカップが乗っているのです(^-^)かわいい♪
The main theme for this outfits is waitress, and there’s a coffee cup on my head(^-^)so cute♪

第一部では、私のソロ曲の中でも上位に入るぐらい大好きな「太陽と散歩」を初披露できて嬉しかったです♪
During the 1st performance, I was able to perform “Taiyou to sanpo”, which I love so much and could rank top within all my solo songs that I like, for the first time so I was very happy♪
メロディも歌詞もとっても可愛くて(*^^*)まだ聴いた事が無い方はぜひ聴いてみて下さい！
Its melody and lyrics are very cute(*^^*)Everyone who still hasn’t listened to it, please listen!
そして、この日はスペシャルゲストの方が2組いらっしゃって下さいました！

1人は、いつもソロライブでキーボードを演奏して下さるARISAさん♪
1st was ARISA-san who always plays keyboard for my solo lives♪

なんと！！！！

「ラッパ練習中」でコラボさせていただいた、
オレスカバンドの皆さんが来て下さいましたーーー！！
Everyone in OreSka Band, who collaborated with me for “Rappa Renshuuchuu”, came—-!!
歌番組では何度か共演させていただきましたが、こうしてライブで共演するのは初めてでした。うれしい！
I’ve performed with them for many times on music shows, but it was my first time to perform with them at a live. I’m happy!
オレスカバンドさんの曲も2曲披露していただいたのですが、とにかくかっこいいパフォーマンスにしびれました(^○^)すごかったー！
OreSka band-san also performed 2 of their own songs, and I was fascinated by their cool performance(^○^)So awesome~!
改めて、こんな素晴らしい方達とコラボレーションさせていただけて本当に嬉しい事だなと実感しました♪
Once again, I felt that it was really a joyful thing to be able to collaborate with such wonderful friends♪
そして、
And,
「ラッパ練習中」をARISAさんとオレスカバンドさんの生演奏で歌わせていただきました！！
I got to sing “Rappa Renshuuchuu” live with ARISA-san and OreSka Band-san!!
やっぱり生演奏は最高ですね！

中央ブロックの方にも届くようにラケットを使いました～
I used the racket so that the balls could also get to everyone in the central block~

…but,
ラケットを使っても素手で投げるのと大して変わらないという（笑）
It seemed that the situation didn’t change much whether I used the racket or threw the balls with my bare hand (laugh)
次までにテニススクール通っておきます。

On this day, I scribbled on the T-shirts of everyone in team Mayuyu~
職種と名前と私のサインとむちちを書きました（笑）

一日中大事に着てくれて嬉しかった(((o(*゜▽゜*)o)))チームまゆゆ最高！祭！

まずは、お腹が空いたのでフェスタカフェにて限定コラボメニューをいただきまゆゆ
First, I was hungry so I ate the meal in the limited collaboration menu at Festa Cafe *she wrote itadakiMayuyu here*

Mushroom pilaf was the best(￣▽￣)
コースターもばっちりもらっちゃいました！

腹ごしらえも済んだ所で、謎解きスタート！！
I started the mystery solving after finished my meal!!

あちらこちらを行ったり来たり必死に走り回り、アトラクションに乗っては我を忘れ
て騒ぎ、風男塾さんの握手会イベントの様子を遠くからガン見したり、謎が解けなく
て真剣に悩んだり、途中ヘアメイクの愛ちゃんが離脱したりと…
I went here and there and ran around frantically,
I was beside myself with fuss when riding on attractions,
I stared fixedly at Fudanjuku-san’s handshake event from far away,
I worried seriously when not being able to solve the mystery,
and my hair and make-up artist, Ai-chan, withdrew in the middle…
そんなこんなしている内に、なんと
And while I was doing all of that,

Time’s up ＼(^o^)／
嘘だ…
No way…
信じたくない…
I can’t believe it…
まゆゆを救えなかった…
I couldn’t save Mayuyu…
