'newaaaaay, the 2nd 739 cup is halfway and I managed to get the early results for the first games! so, I'll be updating my site through the day with the latest news!

Way to go, Gatas, you girls deserved this win. First in the league, a victory over Carezza, and undefeated; this is shaping up to be a great season for Gatas and it looks like they'll be living up to the "Brillhantes" name. Bloody Brilliant.

I think the only reason they put her in the team was because of that drama. After it was over, there was no reason to keep her.

So Nono had some problems in the begining? Somehow in all the pics she looked kinda intense. Its nice to hear she's getting better. Is there a play-by-play available for this match?
II was wondering who those other girls were on the team with Aya in that drama. I don't recognize them, are they actresses or girls from another group?
I thought the rival team girls were pretty fuckin' hot!!

I got those from the team members' blogs. They just didn't feel like resizing them, I guess. Or maybe they didn't know how. :P
There was a period of time before the first 739 cup, I think, when Nono couldn't come to any of the team practices. During that time, she practiced on her own.

Parts of the games will be shown starting next week on Musume Dokyu, so that should hold us over till the 12th.
As for Nono, she has always been the better natural goalkeeper in my opinion. She didn't play as much as Konno, but that was probably because she doesn't attend practice a whole lot.
The problem with Konno's style, in my opinion, is that she often comes out after the ball too slow leaving her defender to pick up the slack if the opponent gets past. Tsuji doesn't usually have this problem, and is usually fast enough to make up for her mistakes.
Of course, I have to see this game to see how much Konno has improved, she has been doing a lot of training in this area. For all I know, she's better than Tsuji now, but I don't know.
For this tournament, it looks like the Gatas goalkeepers switched at the half? At least, I think they did for the Carezza game, and no one has said for the other ones.
Supposedly there is another tournament already set up for the summer, but there's no details, so I don't know if it's true.

i actually think konno is a better goal keeper than Nono. the way i see Nono play is that she is still kinda scare of the ball. while Konno seem to be more aggressive.

i notice her ball handling in the last tourney when against those big boobs team, the lone goal scored by them was a very easy save. but then Nono somehow just try to hit it back out instead of using both hands to try to grab it. she did hit the ball but she didnt use enough power to muscle the ball out the net.

This is not allowed and results in either possession of the ball or a free kick (I don't remember which) She did this a couple of times but it's because she forgot the rules since it had been so long since she went to practice supposedly. I think she did it 2 or 3 times. (Although the last time she did it, it wasn't really her fault since she slid like 6 feet, which made her go outside the area. That's the really cute scene when she scrambles back across the floor and smiles at the ref) They actually talk about this problem immediately after one of the matches and Yoshizawa makes fun of her.
When I have more time, I'll review all the games, though, and see which one was the better goalkeeper in my opinion. From what I remember, Konno really opens up a lot of oppurtunities for the opponents and leaves her defense man to clean up after her. In terms of stopping the ball, they aren't all that different (Tsuji is faster than Konno, but Konno is stronger than Tsuji) but when she used to leave open those scoring oppurtunities is what really concerned me.

I like Konno better, although Tsuji's had a great improvement lately.
The one who impressed me the most was Satoda; she was great at the defense.

Doesn't sound very professional... Players should know the rules :) Well they're singers though :)

anywayz dang i wanna see maki in the lineup too. guess she is too busy wit her solo stuff. her and rika make the best backup in the team although at times rika gets the starting spot more.

I've been watching them and they're getting better all the time. Their passes are pretty good, and they're executing plays better. Konno is an awesome goalie, she almost had 2 more saves during the PKs in the final game. During the PKs, she looked really focussed and confident. I haven't seen many clips of the 2nd Fuji 739 with Tsuji in goal yet. Just the highlight where CHOOP scores and Tsuji twirls around :lol:

I just watched Musume Dokyu #48. It looks like Yossi and Miki are getting along quite well :D I wonder if Rika's feeling left out. I loved how Yossi gives Miuna some encouragement and shoves her to take the PK. :lol:

On the Choop blog there were about 10 teams, and then they changed it recently to show Gatas, Carezzaa, XANADU loves NHC (I think this is what Horidashimono has changed their name to), TEAM dream, Choop, Fantasista and new comers Miss Magazine. They also say "others" at the end, which leaves room for both old and new teams alike.

In the last game, each team chose 5 people to shoot. After they all took a shot, the score was still tied. Each team kept choosing a new player and alternating shots until one team scored and the other didn't. I don't know what happens if you run out of players though.

the last game was great as hell. it was super intense. i really loved and respect rika after watchin it. she didnt do much during the game, but she did all the comfortin and caring on the bench especially wit Nono.

I think tat happened in the world cup a few years back. Brazil one that way...everybody made big stink about it. The world cup being one that way.

yeah, the roaster usually is Yossi/Fujimoto/Rika/Satoda/Konno; then the others work as substitutes.

Well, Konno and Tsuji are switched out pretty often (usually they alternate and in this tournament, they alternated every half).
And that lineup should be called the starting line up, because that's usually how they start their first game of a tournament. Korenaga, obviously, gets put in quite a bit, usually to get things started. Asami usually takes an offensive position because she's pretty good at cutting in quickly.
There's only three players who are weak (Miuna, Saito and Shibata) and they rarely get put in (although Miuna gets more play time than the other two). From what I've seen, Miuna really tries, but she doesn't keep an overall view of what's going on. Saito doesn't seem to focus on anything, so she may go after the player who has the ball, but she can't do anything once she's there. I have no clue what Shibata's level of playing is because you almost never see her with the ball.
Maki and Kawashima weren't at this tournament so I can't say what's become of them playwise. Maki usually gets put in on defense and does a pretty good job. Now, the secondary egg, Kawashima, I have a few theories as to why she's never put in. If you look at practice logs, she almost never shows up. I don't know why, but if there's 14 days of practice documented, she shows up maybe once or twice. This may mean the coach doesn't put her in because she doesn't know the plays. Alternativly, she used to play soccer, so maybe her skill is too long range to be effective in futsal.
uh, I forgot what this post was about and I seem to have written a lot, but I guess that's normal when I start writing about Gatas. :)

as far as i know, the starting 5 wasnt so permanant until this recent tourney where it seems rika yossi miki and mai are the major starting 4 while konno and nono alternate each half. but mostly rika gets subbed off after the first half while miki yossi and mai usually continues to play. korengna and asami are really the main 2nd unit. if maki was playin, she would be playin alot as well. damn i so miss her on the team.

I noticed she played defense a lot more this tournament. Usually she's running around between the halfway line and the opponent's goal. I recall she said she wasn't so good at defense. I think it's a good thing to play the different positions and get a better idea of how the game flows. She can take this experience and turn it around to break down the other team's defense. :D

There's only three players who are weak (Miuna, Saito and Shibata) and they rarely get put in
It was funny how they let these three play the 2nd half of the first game after it was clear that Dream's asses were thoroughly kicked and didn't stand a chance. :lol:
They still need real game play experience even if they sit out many of the matches. You never know if someone gets injured or needs a break, you might have to substitute one of them in for a while. So in the long run it's better to let them get some experience in. Miuna was awesome volunteering to take the 7th PK and making it. :)

Could be Japan's national team's uniforms. They wore those once, I think, when they went to see them practicing. And they wore their blue uniforms only once when they competed in the 'real' league.
By pink uniforms, mabe they mean pink warming suits? I saw Rika and Konno wearing those once, but theirs were in different shades of pink.

The light blue ones aren't new. They wore it once in this tournament that they lost 0-9 or something. The red uniform is for goalies only, I think. And the darker blue ones in that pic are Japan's national team's uniforms, so they definitely won't be wearing those in tournaments.

I never watched a game. The file is always way too big, and it's not even the kinda sport I like. I only watch DOKYU. But Ican tell you that Konno's a better goalie, coz Nono is...mentally unstable or something. :D

I've seen every game that was televised and I think Tsuji is a better natural goalkeeper in so much as she has a faster reaction time than Konno. This was the case for almost all the games up until this year. Then, for the Fuji Cups, Tsuji didn't come to practice as much and Konno has surpassed her in technical skill. (knowledge of situations and reading movement)
Tsuji has been attending practice lately, so it will be interesting to see how things go. Is Konno too far ahead in technical knowledge? Will Tsuji's natural talents help her? I can't wait to find out.
As for the make up of the next tournament, all the teams that appeared in the Fuji games will make an appearance, plus several new teams.
As for the uniforms, all three of the uniforms are their official outfits. They don't use pink or light blue however because they are already taken by other teams. (Miss Magazine is pink and THREE different teams already wear blue. Hell, three teams wear red and white too.)
I love their orange outfits though. It's easy on the eyes, it's a nice color and it's easily recognizable. Plus the black outfits for goalies are just neat looking. I never really liked the yellow ones.

I agree, Tsuji may be a natural when it comes to sports, but Konno is more consistent and calmer when it's a stressful situation. I like Konno as goalie :)

Then in the month of August there's "Skylark Group Odaiba BoukenO League"
Gatas is in League A, playing on August 6, 7, 13 & 14
League B plays Aug 20, 21, 27 & 28

but u know of all the saves she made, both shots were totally directed at her!!!!!haha
one thing i notice her and nono do alot is using only one hand to stop the ball rather than both. the strenght of ball ends up over power their hands and into the net. if u dun get it, go watch the pk that were shot at konno.

There is one important difference between Konno's and Tsuji's keeping styles, and that is that when Konno blocks, she redirects the ball upwards. This is very bad and can often result in a goal for what should have otherwise been an easy save, this happened twice during the pk battle against Carezza. It can also put the ball back in play when the keeper should otherwise be able to stop and control it. From what I've seen of Tsuji, she always hits straight shots back down, which is the correct response most of the time. It just gives the keeper a much greater margin of error. Konno got lucky against Carezza when two girls cracked under pressure and missed completely, but it is too easy to score in a futsal pk (or any pk) for that to be something you can rely on. If Konno corrects that tendency, she will become a very able keeper.

well yea, but then konno never actually move her whole body towards the ball. when it comes to pk, the goalie has to really make up her mind if to which spot the kicker is gonna kick. if ur gonna react when the ball is kick, that will be way too late.

Considering how short it is from the ball placement to the goal line, I think you sort of have to just react to the ball. Not much else you can do. Besides the goal is smaller, you don't have to move that much.

I just watched the latest Musume Dokyu #79. It's got more on their training camp and OMG their skill level is going up really well. :shock: I'm not a soccer fan, but to me, they look damn good practicing their techniques. (Yossi at ~1:15 does a nice spin move, and she's up again at ~2:05 :lol: ) :w00t: Next tournament on July 26th, can't wait to see how it goes. :D

height is only a minor problem for konno. but maybe bigger problem for nono. since most of the girls in the tourney are around the height. i see the best way to score on them is to strike at full force. thats what most carezza girls did towards konno. even if konno deflects it, the force is too much.

Plus, if you bought a ticket to see a futsal game, the park fee is included. This means you pay $12 to get in the park and only $8 to watch the game. The prices at the cafe are kind of high though...
And I'm surprised that no one is talking about how Tsuji played a forward position in one of the games (The throw away game against Miss Magazine. It didn't matter how they did because they already had enough points to advance). People say she's fast on the court.
Plus Melon was in quite a bit. They didn't score anything, but they played. I still don't think Kawashima was on the court, but she might have had school or something.

well its no surprise Nono would be a speedy since she is one of the fastest sprinter outa all the girls. plus she is little as well, it will make her look so much faster.

The kitties lost big time in this 女子フットサル すかいらーくグループ 冒険王 league... thing, with today's results slightly better than yesterday's. All we know is there are many injuries, including Yossi, Miki and Korenaga. I also heard Yossi's left leg is seriously injured; at a point she couldn't even walk or something. Luckily Rika and Mai seems to be fine. Tsuji didn't participate in both days. I also heard the coach wasn't there, but I dunno.

Asai is surprisingly strong, but they have a really good 14 year old who has been playing soccer since elementary school. Everyone says that Fantasista's ace is a girl named Kimura and CHOOP has always been a worthy opponent.

About the best I could do for the Gatas kits…I’m relatively close, I would say. There was the option of one with the addidas stripes along the shoulders, but I would loose the secondary colour on the sides, which I felt made it look more like the real one.

I just realized something... In Musume Dokyu #105 where we were admiring Yossi's knee, she's not wearing her knee brace in practice. I guess she only wears it during matches, but I thought "recently" she was wearing it during practice as well. I guess it depends on how it feels when she's on the field.

An interesting thing to note is that the goalie uniforms are actually different from the black alternate uniform. The black alternate is what the players wear, and it's actually black with white lettering. The goalie uniform is a little blue with orange letter.
I don't really have a point, I just thought it was neat.

:D Yeh, but it's kind of hard to be really excited when you haven't seen them play. It's great that they won, but you feel a bit removed because all you read are scores, and if there are details, they're usually in a language I don't understand. I didn't know Yossi was injured for this tournament though. I've heard that Satoda's goal was really good.

Anyone know if the new Gatas interview book, "Spirit of Gatas", coming out Nov 25 is worth getting? I'm half tempted to pick it up regardless because my Sals3 order got cancelled by YesAsia because they couldn't get it. :cry:

I've already pre-ordered Sals4. They keep a really steady release apparently, I think the two magazines this year were released on exactly the same months last year.
As for the person asking about the Spirit of Gatas book, I got mine a while ago and it's awesome....if you can read Japanese. Practically no pictures.
Kick ass for me, I was looking for something to read. Very personal stuff.

I personally don't think the DVD is worth getting, unless you like collecting things. I didn't think the dvd was all that fun. But, I think it did have some good parts too it as well. But anyway overall I don't think it was worth the 40 bucks or the 50 bucks i paid... what about you guys/ladies.

It wasnt a surprise to me that BOSS sooner or later will be out of Gatas...
She rarely plays a game during the Gatas history, which means she is not even in the normal rotation...But now another one is gone...Gatas is getting smaller and smaller...they should do need a backup just like BOSS if something happened, as long as it's not kids, it's ok :lol:

They're qualified to be Level 4 referees. I'm guessing that's like entry level. H!P will probably send them to do publicity by having them officiating at kids games or something.

Actually, it's not that hard. I just made a template in which I added the code in each of the parts I wanted to put an html.
For example, once you've made a table, you include the code in the superior cell and point to your header document (a banner or just a title header), while the inferior cell will link to the main page. Then, you save the document with the .php extension instead of the .html one, and it's done!
Of course, you'll have to install a PHP program such as easy PHP in order to preview the pages, since when you open the .php file in the browser it doesn't read it.
It seems difficult, but once you grasp the concepts you'll be able to migrate the whole site in a few hours :P
Oh, as for the advantage... basically, when you want to change the layer, for example, as I did, you just have to worry about the design. The content pages are in html and won't be affected, so there are less broken links problems.
i don't know, it seems easier to me now. The only problem is that you have to make one .php file for each html subpage, but it's just cut, paste, change the page title and target url and that's all.

i'm currently watching the 4th Stage now, and i was wondering, too, who the new goalie would be. Tsuji is an excellent keeper (better than Konno, IMO, altho Konno is pretty good and worked hard) but you *need* a back-up keeper, in case of injury/ fatigue/ whatever.
from what little i've seen of Little Gatas (just their game at the recent Sports Festival), they're complete rubbish, so recruiting one of them seems unlikely.
oh, and in the post-Saito gatas world, it's good to see everyone getting game time, what with Gatas changing the entire team at half-time. the downside tho is that they can put some strange teams on the pitch: the team for the second leg of the semi-final (i think it was the semi) had, by my count, three defenders (Shiibata, Miuna, Satoda), one forward (Korenaga) and no-one in the midfield...

watched the final of the 4th stage last night - that will be the last time for a very long time that Gatas experiment with playing a sweeper, i can confidently predict. and they look much more dangerous with Yossie up the pitch harrassing opponents and setting up attacks than with her directing proceedings, libero-style, from defence.
all but one of the goals that Gatas gave away were caused by defensive mistakes; the other one was a complete fluke - poor Tsuji in goal had no chance with any of them. good to see Asami getting some pitch-time tho - she's a good player (altho she needs to work on trapping the ball) and she can strike a ball well.

Ok minna, here it is. My *report* on what went on at Gatas public practice today.
So I showed up early at the event today and waited to be seated. They let us in at around 10am and I made sure I sat down at my seat as soon as they let people in. Hehe. Anyway, I was sitting and was thinking to myself, *guess the three 85ers (Yossie, Miki and Rika) are going to be absent again due to the musical practice. So yeah, sitting there, looking around, when I noticed all these fans around me looked in one direction, so I looked over and hold and behold, I saw the back of a Gatas member walking toward a white tent. I was like, who the hell is that. My GOD, the jersey say 10!!! I was like, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Yossie!!! No, I only screamed to myself. I was like, if Yossie is here, does that mean Miki and Rika are too? So I sat with my eyes clued to the entrance to the white tent waiting for Yossie to come back out and indeed she did a few minutes later. She is so cool!!!!!! I could not stop smiling. She looked at the fans and smiled too. Well, not all the fans were there yet, just those that got themselves in early.
Then I continued sitting and waiting. I sit right next to the entrance/exit where they would have to come out from. It was like 5 feet from me, behind the net entrance were the trailers where I constantly heard the group joking around. Satoda`s voice was clear. Anyway, so I clued myself to the trailers direction. About 5 minutes later, my God again, Miki came walking out and toward the white tent. I was like, AHH...AHH....AHH... Waited til she came out, she looks better in person than on video. In my opinion anyway. She looked up at where some other fans and I are sitting and smiled a bit. She was in a conversation with her escort so she could not have much contact with us.
The event was to start at 10:30am so more and more fans started coming in. Not shortly after Miki, I saw Miuna, also came in and out of the white tent. Thanks to her I know that is where the restroom for them must be because she came out shaking her hands like you know how when you wash your hands and there is nothing to dry them with? So yeah, she came in and out.
Around 10:25, I remember checking my watch, Rika came out! Same thing, in and out of the restroom. But when she came back out, she waved at the fans and even bowed. A fan standing next to me even said something to her and she bowed back smiling. So for me, that was a great beginning!
The practice was more fun with most of the members there. To see them split into two teams and play against each other is nothing better. When seeing them on videos, you see they play nice, but to see it in person is my God! Yossie had on a pain expression from the heat. I think she was dying of it. Miki on the other hand was always smiling, in everything she does. Whenever she messes up a drill or just plan warmup, she was smiling and giggling. She has her shirt collar popped up again as usual and she was wearing the earring that Ayaya has the other one to.
I remember during a quick break, Satoda was kicking the ball back and forth with an assistant coach as the goalie. Satoda kicked the ball and it bounces off and went straight for where Miki was standing. She then kicked the ball back at the net/asst. coach. It almost hit him. He did not see it coming so was a bit surprise. I remember he looked at Miki and she giggled back at him. He was the one that during the warmup, faked the starting whistle to run, so Miki turned around and jokingly pushed him.
When you see them practice live, you can see how great Yossie is with the ball. She seems to like small quick moves where as Miki`s plain tricky. I love they handled the ball. Being a soccer player in college myself, I have to admit I saw some really good passes and team work. Rika was so funny out there. Everytime she did something silly and messed up, fans are like *ehhhhh???*
At the end when Gatas walked around to waved bye to the fans, I got what I came to Japan for. They were heading back to the trailers through the same way they came out, so of course I was right there waiting. Hehehe. Miki was the first to went in an then Yossie. I waved at Miki and when Yossie came, she waved and everything. Then I shouted Yossieeeee and she looked at me and waved back. Yes, it was me she was looking at because we made eye contact, plus it kinda helps since I was like the only girl in the middle of a group of guys. hahahah. I love her blue eye contacts. Sexy on her.
So that was it for the morning event, in short anyway. If I remember anything else, I will tell you guys.

As for the afternoon event, Yossie, Miki and Rika did not participate. Just the other members. They were playing a few rounds of games with the kids. Shibata and Miuna got the fans to laugh the most. It was hilarious out there. One of the kid, the youngest and tiniest kid was a goalie for one team but he just stood there. he didnt know what to do. so Shibata had to be both the defender and goalie. Simmin and Shibata were like mothers out there. They kept playing with that kid. Simmin even took him into her lap and sat. She fed him her water bottle too. Lucky kid eh? Shibata was like moving him around the goal because he just stood there and let the ball goes in. Everyone just dropped to the ground when that happened. Asami kept tripping, in a funny way around the kids because they play like wild soccer. They dont really have formations. Poor Miuna, everytime her team got the ball, she kept jumping up and down and waving to let the kid know she is open but is always ignore, in a cute way. Fans couldnt stop laughing. The afternoon event was full of laughter. It is hilarious to see Gatas and the kids harrass each other. hahaahaaha.

But at the Gatas event, it was more blue than in that cap. In the cap, it is more green, don't you think? Her hazel blue eyes caught my attention right away. More sexy on her. Hehehe. Plus, at the event, she freckles were seen less.

I think I got too much over at the cafe. They made a couple of hundred bucks off of me. I am actually in Korea right now, and I am still wearing my Gatas wrist band. Hahaha. After seeing the Gatas members live, I am an obsessive fan now. I bought a bunch of T-shirts too so that I can customize them to have my fav. members number on the back. Kekeke. I can't wait to get it done. I can proudly wear my number 10 jersey around. Of course number 6 as well, maybe number 9 too. Some of the goods at the cafe was pretty cool. Well, not necessarily cool but not something that you can find easily through ebay or whatever.
As to reply Redturtle, I have been wanting to get color contacts, but my eye doctor said since I go to school all the way in Hawaii, it is better for me to get them there since I need to have it checked everything 3 months. I wanted hazel green eyes. From what my friends told me, they are actually not that uncomfortable. If you get the soft lense, they shouldnt be bad. But Yossie didn't show any sign of annoyance by her contacts. She was just having pain expression from the heat. I remember one of the staff had to put ice pack on her head.

I dont think the Gatas Cafe is open year round. I believe they only open when there is a public practice event held. But nevertheless, when I went to the event, the cafe was open and it was at Bohken Land in Odaiba. If you take Yamanote Line, get off at Shimbashi. Exit the station to go to Yurikamone Line and get off at the Daiba Station. Once you get off at Daiba Station, look for FujiTV, the building that has a large metal ball kinda like stuck in the middle of the building. In front of FujiTV is Joypolis/Deckss. Behind FujiTV is Bohken Land where the soccer court and cafe was.

i think the only way Yossie would leave Gatas would be feet first on a slab - everyone else might abandon Gatas, but she'd still be playing keepie-uppie by herself in the park, wearing her number 10 jersey.
so: MIX Gatas is either a cunning attempt to give the Little Gatas players some more experience and see if any of them can cut it with the main team (because Gatas is desperately short of players, now that the Boss and Konkon have gone, and Nono is injured); or it's a blatant attempt to extort more money from the fanbase. or possibly both.
during the Sports Fest, some of the Little Gatas players looked competent, so giving them some experience with the main team seems like a good plan.

Not a dumb question at all. Yes, they usually annouced the events on the official site. Or you can even find out about them at the MM shop in Harajuku. They sell tickets for all sort of MM stuff there as well. Most shops that sell tickets in Japan would have a schedule of when things are held and so on. But best bet is a MM store so that they have events like Gatas and dinner shows.

Wow, I'm really saddened to hear of this. Back in the early days of girls futsal, she was one of the best players. With her leadership, Choop (as it was called back then) won the Skylark League last year. She then left the team shortly before the 1st Sphere League tournament,which is probably why they did so bad in those first few tournaments.

Yup - They were. ^_^ Fanclub event.
I was reading some guy's blog who attended it, GATAS placed 6th place out of the 8 teams that were there. @__@ But, Miki scored a goal (finally! XD). The guy also points out that Yossie had a lot of female FC members that were there supporting her. (XD!!)

^ Mix gatas was a mix between Little Gatas and Gatas brillihantes and it wasnt meant to be a long-term project anyway, they just needed cover during the period when the MM girls and Rika were busy with musical.
Little Gatas... I'm better off with the 7 then. No offence to them but they don't really play nice futsal even though you can argue that they are still young. They should have another league for all these kids so that they can play regularly and train their skills.

That is so close...give credit to the Gatas, they really fought for the title, unfortunately TEAM DREAM had more goals than us....I am just proud of the whole team effort try to take the title away from TEAM DREAM.
I bet Tsuji playd well, haven't gave up a goal in the Final Stage, compare to the last few stages, Tsuji didn't look consistent, it's nice to see her bounce back with 3 good games....
Hopefully they would do better in the next League season (if there's one).

I had not been following the whole thing closely but did see the last two games. With one game remaining and dream not even playing, I thought for sure gatas would get the championship.
Ultimately the championship was so close in all fairness it was a tie. Dream and gatas are evenly matched, but it is the technical scoring to determine the champions that decides things and that's the result that people remember.
Poor asami, to have the whole season depending on her one kick!
And I admit I was actually kinda bummed when it looked like dream wouldn't get the championship because they generally get so much less attention than mm and hp in the media on the whole.
Both gatas and dream need to try their best now to truly become better than each other! Pretty nervewracking for me who loves both of them.

Rumors have been circulating saying Gatas will be withdrawing from Sphere League, and there have been words about breaking up, too. Most of it is because of losing important members and Yossi's mental state.

Unless Gatas has added new players that the public just hasn't heard of yet, it would be really difficult to field a team. It's technically doable, but with so few reserve players the starters would be forced to play (practically) entire games. The human body can't hold up to that type of schedule, let alone what the members already go through with their H!P stuff.

They are probably re-grouping this year after the massive loss of 3 good players. They definetely need another high quality keeper to keep the competition spirit of Nono up. Then i hope they get 1 more defender and 1 attacker.

With this year not playing any futsal, their skill and expereince will be less than the other top teams (ie. TEAM dream, carezza, FANTASISTA, etc.)
I still think they should participate in this year's Sphere League.....unless the girls are having time conflict and super busy with their schedule...:(

I can understand that they're not playing this year's Sphere League. (It's to train the newcomers if they are any and maybe the current line up can improve on their game. ).
But I really hope they get another goal keeper. In the last game with carezza, Tsuji had to keep going because she was the only one despite her injury, I guess if she didn't, they'd probably would have had to forfeit the game. (but that's real sportsmanship!)

I guess it can't be helped. The games start only a couple days before Yossi's grad. Then there's the GAM tour and the H!P summer tour after that. And I think Rika and Tsuji have a musical around May too.
But the biggest concern I think has to be whether the league will continue to get TV support without them, and will it still be there when they're ready to return? H!P is a major draw for these games. The TV networks might think the sport isn't worth covering if there isn't a big enough audience without them involved. With Hello Morning getting cut, H!P can't afford to keep losing more PR time.

Bottom line, Gatas NEEDS more players if they want the team to continue playing, be it this season or next season. If they were to field the team only with the members they have now, they'd have some of the girls (like Nono, for example), being forced to play entire games, with their only breaks being time-outs and halftime. Combine THAT along with their schedules as H!P members, and physically the girls will soon just collapse out of sheer exhaustion.
IMO, they need a second goalie and AT LEAST 4-6 more field players. Remember that since they began playing as a team, all they've done is lose players. To my knowledge, this is the FIRST time that they're acutally looking to add new team members.

And why not kids? If it's not kids, they'd have to go find someone new totally, which would probably be around the Kids' ages anyway. If they could get the older members in H!P to play, they would've done that by now.

Yeah but you don't see weaker teams like shochiku or Nankatsu dropping off the sphere league. Of course Gatas may not win the cup anymore, but it's nice to see them competing with Carezza or Dream.
I understand that they were out this season because they had a long list of graduates, i just hope that the new league is just for 1 or 2 seasons and they will be back when they audition more players.
yeah i guess i shouldn't have reacted that way. But i'm not doubting the Kids age, just their capability. I've not seen them play other than the sports festival so it isn't fair for me to judge them now. Well let's see how the team plays.

I haven't been following them either. But they got some training since that sportfest. They even got to compete, yah?
And maybe they'll be back to Sphere League someday when they're ready. The team seems to be kinda lost now with all those members leaving.

I'm very glad to see the Gatas is still running...after all the hard work they've put in the last few years, I'll to see them disbanding...
And at least we'll get to see Miki and Yossi together after yossi graduates.

Right now I'm less concerned about what league they play in, butt AM concerned with how the "smaller" players (i.e. Momo, Captain, and Nakajima-chan) will do playing against players that are older/taller/more experienced/more physical players than them.

And where does it say Momo will be in? Isn't Tokunaga Chinami's last name? Momoko's Tsugunaga.

I don't know much about the Gatas, but i think they're incredible with winning 6 futsal cup. although i heard of them before, when i seriously became a general H!P fan less than a year ago, i never really notice. i think they're great however. and starting now, i'll probably pay more attention to them. regarding the little Gatas joining the Gatas, although they may not have as much experience as they're opponents or they're senior teammates, i'll believe they'll do fine.
They just have to remember 3 things in order to be successful:
1) Dedication and hard work, do ur best and work smart, have a winning mindset and confidence.
2)Passionate to ur work, love what u do, do what u love. and even if u don't, find a good reason why u have to do it and embeded into ur mind. think of the results
3) Have fun. Be Happy, have a great times, especially with friends and loved ones. and learn while ur at it.

i really think they'll do fine, and as long as they have such a great leader like Yossie as captain, they'll learn a lot and will experienced what great leadership skills Yossie have. i dunno if they did know how great yossie is since they don't really spend much time together besides H!P concerts.
sorry if this kinda leaning towards Yossie, but i she is my fav member and she will be graduating in a couple days, i just feel like talking about yossie....
btw, if all (or most) of little gatas joined the Gatas, will little gatas be disbanding or the they'll be both gatas groups? And what will happen to the previous MIX Gatas?
Also i also watched the Gatas video in Hawaii 2007, and saw both Miuna and Asami in it, wondering when did the event took place and if it's after Both girls graduations, is this like a one time thing after graduation or are they still in Gatas, even though they graduated from H!P already? i guess the latter is unlikely, but just to confirm.

AHHH.... with the news of Nozomi and how this'll affect her career, i forgot about how this'll affect Gatas. since, if true, Nozomi IS pregnant, then she can't compete with the Gatas as goalie, then they'll probably have to find another goalie since both of their goalies are gone. hope the new joined lil Gatas have a good goalie.

^ Maasa and Erika (I think) were the goalies for Lil'Gatas. They'll just get promoted. Korenaga can also play goalie if absolutely necessary.

I think that Maasa was the better goalie when the Little Gatas played during last year's Sports Fest. Haven't seen any matches after that though.

I'd say Konno was better, because at least, she wasn't constantly wearing a stupid oversized bow on her head... :-X

Konno was better. She was more dedicated and went to practice more than anyone else. She could throw the ball further and more accurately than Tsuji. She could remain calm and concentrated during a tough situation, while Tsuji often got too emotional and even started hyperventilating from watching a PK match. And the one big advantage Konno had over Tsuji was her ability to read the game well. This allowed her to position herself and her defenders better against an attack. This was an ability that Tsuji never really developed. Her own situational awareness was often so bad that she used her hands outside the keeper's box on numerous occasions, which gave a free penalty kick to the other side. What Tsuji had though was speed. She used to be blazingly fast. That made up for what she lacked. But her speed suffered when she lost a lot of weight/muscle. And her training was often interupted by W or plain lack of interest bcuz she wanted to quit the team in 2005.

^ thanks for the comparsion. i too, thought konkon was better becuz from watching the vids, konkon seems serious and actually was pretty good. Tsuji on the other hand, usually misses the ball, i mean the went to the basket and sometimes she just kinda either look at the ball as it passes through the goal or kinda was slow trying to catch up to it. but just from only a couple of vids, i didn't know for sure...

No, they are not in the same league. The aim of the team is to spread futsal across Hokkaido. And apparently the Cerbies' players are all local Sapporo girls, no idols.

ah, i see. thanks for the info reyfer. funny thing, when i look at the wiki.theppn, some of the names really stands out, like konno and fujimoto. then i remember that both konkon and mikitty are from hokkaido and konkon is actually from sapporo. it would be funny if the girls are related, but i guess those surnames are common, especially in hokkaido, maybe... i dunno just a thought, wanna put it out there. also a shibata showed up too....
EDIT: i wonder how the Gatas did in the match. and i also heard that C-ute and Berryz had a match too and something hilarious happen. when do they usually release the dvd on Gatas event or showed them on tv. anyone knows?

the loss of two goalies, konkon and Nono, along with the country musume's Kimura Asami and Miuna, are probably taken it's toll. they are veterans, anyway. the new members are still rookies. but i had hope for them in the near future. Ganbare, Gatas!!!

Just browsed through some Chinese forums and Japanese Gatas related blogs.
Before Game 3 Samurai Crew vs. Gatas was played, there was an exhibition match between C-ute and Berryz.
Okai Chisato was playing brilliantly, and helped C-ute in their victory over Berryz.
Okai Chisato wasn't placed in the official Gatas roster, but in game 3 vs. Samurai Crew, Tsuyoshi Kitazawa decided to put Okai Chisato into the game.
She was very active on the court, but with the big 3-Yossi, Miki, Mai losing their legs , Gatas didn't manage to pull out a victory.
But I am so looking forward to see Okai Chisato being listed on the official Gatas team, maybe she will be the next Asami with greater potential.

After reading some more on that match, I'd like it if she was added to the new Gatas roster. :D

P.S. in the Gatas history, the page display the 2006 info as 2005, meaning there's two years of info labeled as 2005, just a heads up. it's below the pic with the 9 members.

is the Sphere league and the Skylark Group league similar to like the NFL and the AFL of american football? or is it their sponsors? but i actually thought H!P was the sponsor.... if someone could help me understand this.
btw, i never knew Korenaga Miki was such a great player, representing the Sphere League in tournaments and winning awards like Most Points Earned (Golden Boots, haha). Is she like an All-star player when she represent Sphere League?
how many other futsal league is there? besides Sphere and Skylark Group League, i haven't heard any other Leagues,... assuming they are like NBA, NFL, AFL, NHL, MLB in America.

H!P only sponsors it's own team, Gatas. Skylark Group is a restaurant chain that sponsored Gatas and organized several tournaments in the beginning before there was any league. Korenaga and another H!P Egg named Miyuki Kawashima were specifically auditioned for their futsal skills to act as "ringers". Kawashima later quit in early 2005. The Sphere League was started later that year for the idol/celebrity teams. Several tournaments would be played and whichever team racked up the highest number of points overall would be league champs. Each team was allowed to have one ringer (Korenaga for Gatas, Kajima for Carezza, Utsuki for Team Dream, etc.) The ringers are usually the ones chosen for the All-Star team, which played against better, non-league teams (high school, college, clubs). The Skylark Group League was started only recently. Along with Skylark, other Gatas sponsors, Addidas and JAL, have gotten involved by fielding teams of their own in this league, so presumably it's their way of keeping all the PR time to themselves while Gatas rebuilds. I wouldn't be surprised to see the two leagues play eachother in the future like the NFL and AFL since all the sponsorship is tied together in one way or another.

Basically, yeah, although the only team in the Skylark Group League at this point is Gatas (since the website has profiles for no other teams). adi-UNIT5 belongs to Adidas, Emulsions belongs to Shiseido (a hair/skin care company), and Samurai Crew belongs to JAL.
However, the league that has Team DREAM, Carezza, chakuchaku jb and others isn't Skylark's, it's the Sphere League (http://www.sphereleague.com/). Going on a limb, I think that one's sponsored by Fuji TV, but I'm not sure.

It's too early to know if they won't play them anymore, since after all, Sphere League teams used to play in Skylark Group tournaments.

I don't think the two leagues should be seen as totally separate entities like the NFL and AFL. They're more like two different series of games for points. It's up to the teams whether they want to join up and compete in that series. Considering the poor shape that Gatas is in, they would get ousted right away if they competed in the Sphere League. With low points, they would be placed in the reserve league where they wouldn't be allowed to play against the big teams. If Gatas gets no publicity time, then their sponsors would be wasting their money. The new Skylark league looks like it was created specifically as a remedy for Gatas' current woes. They get to keep playing while all the publicity time is kept in the family, since everyone involved is a H!P supporter (Skylark, Addidas, JAL). I'm not sure, but I believe Shiseido is also tied to H!P in some way. I think Nacchi endorsed their products.
If Gatas can get its act together, I think we'll still see games between them and Carezza/Dream/etc. because, in the middle of the last Sphere League series, there were seperate tournaments like the Goodwill Cup and Osaka Kings Cup, which had nothing to do with the Sphere League's points competition.

I read darje's Gatas site (good job!) and found out that Gatas was a great team. although it is to promote Gatas, the facts are very interesting, the player's info are great. i never knew the girls were that good, although they also need to work on their weak points. Especially yossie, one of the most feared and respected players in Sphere league, Mikitty aggresiveness, Tsuji's speed, etc. when i watch some videos i didn't really notice this stuff, although i didn't watch alot of Gatas video in the first place, only a few and i don't notice stuff like this. Now i'm really interested in watching Gatas games, especially the early one, before mid-2006. i really love to watch the Gatas if anyone knows where i can find the early videos.

I think it would be a great idea. The word "translated" instantly catches people's attention. I'd definately go for the forum, having threads on alot of H!P boards is nice and all, but a place to talk solely about futsal would be fantastic.

Actually another forum user at H!O saw her first in the news, and then I browsed through the late night airing bulletins until I found it... at 3:00 am :D
All I can say as for now is, she wasn't in the Sagrada Familia at around 14:00-15:00 nor in the center of the city in the evening... and that in case she's leaving tomorrow, there's one flight at 7:50 in the morning and another one at around 6 PM. I won't be able to stalk the airport tho :(

But do the reporters even know that woman with the girl is a Japanese celebrity? To them the news was that a little girl came from Japan to meet Ronaldinho. They may not even know there's something called Morning Musume or Hello! Project. So the news not mentioning "Yoshizawa Hitomi from Morning Musume in Barcelona to make a girl's dream come true", doesn't mean it's not her. Hell, the pics say "YOSSI" all around.

Okay, for all the people that read only the last two or three posts of a thread, here's what we know so far:
Yossi was spotted by a spanish fan that was watching a TV report of the Barcelona FC training for their championship game that will be held on Sunday. That TV report was on wednesday. We wondered if it was really her or not, until the pics from this local sports newspaper came out. She was there with a camera crew and a little 10 years old girl named Megumi Watamabe, that sent a message to a Nippon TV show that makes kids dreams come true. Her dream was to meet one specific Barcelona FC player, the brazilian Ronaldinho. The report doesn't mention Yossi, just the little girl. As far as we know, Yossi was there as chaperon for this girl, to make sure she got her dream. We don't know how long she was there, we don't even know if they are staying for this Sunday's game. But Yossi is scheduled to appear on the Nippon TV show "Dream Vision" on Tuesday, so maybe we'll see this footage there.

It's very, very unlikely that she's still there, but if she were gonna watch the match she then wouldn't leave until monday. The match is being held 70 kms far from Barcelona and the last flight to Tokyo (via Paris or Munich) leaves before 19:00.

Basically I've never followed gatas before(Watched one video clip thing) but I have now decided I will!
I downloaded the latest video on H!O which is koisuru futsal 2007 dated 20070715... could someone tell mewhere abouts are these matches in the grand scheme of things please? I have a feeling they are the end of a cup?? but I'm not sure..

^ The games covered in that ep. with the kids took place around mid-May of this year. They were the first games for the new Skylark Group League. Gatas used to play in the Sphere League against entirely different teams, but opted out this year.

Do you mean being in goal instead of her? From the clip I saw it seems Maasa is the main, well was now that konno's back. Erika only came in when Maasa came off near the end of it all.
Also I'm pretty sure the H!PK without numbers were only in little gatas(look at me, newbie looking like i know it all, but there's been lots of discussion on the kids threads which I do frequent)
After the first line I think it's just number order, especially since chisato is last of the numbers and she's really good.

They've played once already this month, on the 3rd, as it was the 1st Stage of the Skylark Group Bouken Ou Cup that day (they did more or less decently: one loss, one win). Next week'll be pretty schedule heavy for them, too: starting on the 14th they have the 2nd Stage to play in, then the 17th is the Challenge Cup, and the 18th is the "Futsal League for Working Lady" Bamiyan Stage tournament. I'll try to keep tabs of all of these in my website, so please come visit! :lol:

You're talking about the "zawa" kanji right?
If I remember correctly, they usually use that kanji in her last name in newspapers and stuff because it's more common. Doesn't make it right exactly, but, yeah... They even did it in the articles about her brother's death.

If I read the article correctly, the girls seem to have reason to be disappointed. After the round robin phase a deciding match against the Adidas team was needed to determine the winner of the tournament. Gatas lost that match 1 - 0.

In theory, it was the same tournament, but it's played in two different stages: they finished as runner ups in the one played on the 17th (the first stage), and as winners in the 2nd stage (played on the 21st).
And one could hardly say this is the "futsal season" :lol: They've been playing all august because the Fuji TV Odaiba Bouken Land event allows them to have an outside court, and an audience nearly every day. It's not the first year this happens either: Fuji TV and Skylark Group have enough relationships between them that the Skylark Group is allowed to have it's own little "stadium" in the Bouken Land. They might have some more matches until the end of the year, all depending on the schedule of the Skylark Group League.

Yossie was happy playing such a great and tense game with a chance to win everything, but regrets losing. Miki who got the first attack in the first 10 seconds of the game is convinced they'll win the tournament and can't wait for the next game. Konkon who blocked every shot in the first half [of the adi-UNIT5 game] says she would still like to improve her skills.

Korenaga Miki fires off 5 goals during the 3 games [this girl got FIVE of the SIX goals during this stage]. The official reason given was that she had too thick a schedule and was missing too many sessions training (Shibata actually dissapears for long periods from the team for the same reason).

Four new members for Gatas!
In a fan exchange event held in the Skylark group futsal stadium in the adventure land on August 31, four new Gatas members were announced. Three people who passed the Gatas new member audition in the spring and one person who already belongs to the public entertainment office are now members of Gatas.

Ok, i just watched a video clip of Zokkon Sports (10.08.2007) about a Gatas VS Cerbies match on 11.04.2007. would they be broadcast live on that day on television? and if so would people usually upload the vids like all the other videos?
btw, i never actually seen any of Gatas matches, where can i find those videos, youtube?
i was browsing thru Wiki.theppn.org and came to one of futsal team Carezza, which mentions and i quote, "Within the Sphere League, they are generally regarded as Gatas Brilhantes H.P.'s strongest rival." so would this mean that Gatas like one of the best, if not the best team to play in the Sphere League? What exactly is their rankings or strength, are they actually a very strong team?
u know, i think of myself as a fan, but in truth, i never actually know anything about the Gatas. i only watch a few practice videos of them like shown on Musume Dokyu and read some info on websites like Vamos jogar futsal (http://home.graffiti.net/vamosjogarfutsal/) but never really know the team. i'm kinda feel guilty to be a fan of them when i'm that ignorant, but i'm gonna change that...

^ Nope i don't think it would be live. Anyway none of the sphere league matches was live in the past.. i think.. But sooner or later, they will either show it on Dokyu or some Girl's Futsal TV show and people do record and upload them.
You can find Gatas matches on H!O, maybe they would still have old working torrents.
Yes, Gatas is one of the few strong teams in Sphere league till 2005 (IMO). Ranked at the top with them were Carezza and Team Dream. However maybe due to lack of training, they begin to struggle with lower ranked opponents in '06 and
'07.
As for the fan thing, i only own 1 of their towels and nothing more but i am still a self proclaimed fan. It doesn't matter if you know a lot or little, as long as you support them, you are a fan.

man 2005 was a great year for Gatas.. so many exciting games which is probably why they got more TV coverage back then including broadcasts of the games
I hope we get to see some of the games they played this year, including the upcoming Cerbies match.. that's going to be a fun game to watch XD

You can get the match they played during the 2006 sports festival in the JH!P Archive section. The match should be in part 2. Keep in mind that they're playing against a semi-pro team instead of their usual opponents.

Ok i know this is old and i feel like i just came back from Mars because i just realize this (oh how slow), Miuna and Asami are no longer in Gatas?
i know they have graduated. but i just realize they graduated from HP as well and i quickly check on Gatas current member list and see their name is no longer there. it's sad because i think they are quite strong member to loose. i don't really follow them in Coconut Musume but in futsal, Asami is quite skillful and i like seeing her in the game. as well as Miuna.
may i know the reason they graduated from HP? because it doesn't seem like they have other plan in showbiz.
i saw list of top scorer in wiki.theppn.org and Mai at no 4 with 7goals and no5 is Rika with 6goals. this makes me think of Miuna and Asami and i wonder if they had more scores than these 2 but didn't get listed because they have graduated.
is 2007 a slow year for Gatas? did they have as much game as last year?

Indeed the fc tours are for fc members only... It would require they get work paperwork done (especially for any minors that can be a pain I'm sure)
SHIKASHI! (BUT!) cause I like doing that dramatically
I always go out Scouting to see if I could come across something... when Momusu was here last spring I missed them by one day (the day I wasn't feeling up to going out was the day they passed by the route I was taking a lot).
Also while we can't get IN to the event we can hangout around it, Dj, ShoujoHime, and some other people like myself end up hanging outside the concert last spring though we didn't all meet each other, and me and a friend were outside the GAM concert. We can't get close but we can see the area of influence rather well.
And last Hawaii Tour for the GATAs it looked like the exhibition was outdoors in a wide area, I don't think they could keep us out of that unless they found a large private field.
Also the H!P store opens when the fan club is here, though apparently we can't buy the clothes or bags or anything we can still get pictures!!
I know the chances of being blessed by H!P is far from possible for a lowly hawaii boy like me but this is the closest I can get to being special and I plan to go off and adventure if thats at all possible!
But to know where to venture we'd have to know the days when things are planned (usually its in the two days all the packages align, but confirmation is always helpful).

I am once again on a search for a design I can make for shirts... unfortunately the last shirt design I made I thought would be cool was Momusu related so using that for H!P Hawaii doesn't make sense. But I want to make something since it seems like our only option for shirts is ebay... no wait ebay doesn't have anything... I don't know where. ^^; I guess maybe I'll just focus on what to make incase you can give something out. Why can't I paint awesomely too!... :P
The Gatas need a Hawaii fan boost! Since GAM didn't get a good one with everyone's schedules, I know we don't make much of a difference but I think its kind of fun and uh...I don't know what word I want to put here... supportive? to try to show that Hawaii's got their backs too.

The four new girls look pretty skilled. One goalie and 3 field players from the looks of things. Going by their personal stats, it now looks like Gatas has at least 4 to as many as 6 ringers on the team (including Korenaga and Mutou). Hopefully, the extra muscle means UF has bigger plans for the team. If the tournament they played a couple of days ago is any indication, Gatas may be returning to their roots by playing against real futsal clubs, instead of idols and sponsors. The results weren't so good, but that's to be expected if they're facing tougher opponents.

2月1日 駒澤体育館でガッタス公開練習が開催され、2012年9月9日のガッタス生誕10周年に向けて、ファン、600人が来場し現場を熱狂させた。
今後は、定期的な練習を重ね、9月9日に主催大会を行う事を発表(詳細は未定)、その大会に向けて東京都大会「女子エントランスリーグ」に参戦することも発表された。
新メンバーの発表も行われ、古川、森、佐藤、佐保の4名も新たにガッタスメンバーとして初の公式の場でのお披露目があった。
練習は、ウォーミングアップからはじまり、基礎練習、レベル別練習から、紅白戦へ。
コーチ陣を含めた紅白戦では、キャプテン吉澤をはじめ、是永が得点するシーンが多く見られ、新メンバーからも得点が生まれ来場者を大いに盛り上げた。
今回の公式練習に参加したメンバーは以下の通り。
