The first four hours of the new season of 24 have been leaked.  You can find torrents on eztv's website.  I just thought I'd let you guys know.  EZTV is known for quality, and trust me, these are legit.

So from today's episode (11:00 am-12:00pm), it looks like Jack's dad may have been a businessman who engaged in questionable endeavours, but it looks like it's Graeme who actually chose to take things to the next level and start secretly planning illegal/covert activities. :o

And WTF is this bullshit that Lennox is trying to pull?

Gotta say, 24 just isn't doing it for me anymore. Thought season 5 was utter crap and way over the top far fetched by having Logan as the bad guy on a puppet string. And of course, the mysterious baddie was going to be someone Jack knew from the past, but to have him be Jack's brother...C'mon, give me a fuckin' break.

(That being say, I'm still gonna watch.)

Yeah eventhough the plots has getting over the top in the last couple of season, its still pretty hard not to watch. This show has some fucking great writers that just keep me going on.

Now lets see that German betrayal playout like the Chinese one.

I find the pace of the plot quite slower than the previous seasons.

They really NEED to get some new writers for this show.

Seriously, who the fuck didn't know it was going to be a photo of Morris, and that he was going to leave just before it finished decoding??

And as soon as Jack's dad said he needed some time alone, he was either going to snuff himself, or turn out to be the baddie.

Merged the thread. I didn't mind it, but my Mom said last night wasn't the strongest episode ever. She's probably right.

It seemed pretty clear it would be Morris - I saw that coming about 2 episodes ago when McCarthy was saying he needed someone to program the trigger.

Any time anyone wants to be alone on 24 it either means they're going to kill someone or be killed.
Title: The Official 24 Day 6 thread
Post by: JFC on February 06, 2007, 07:26:35 PM
I personally figured it was going to be either Morris, Chloe, or maybe even Milo. The "notice" about Morris' brother made it pretty obvious though.

After a slow start, I think the pace is catching up. Looking forward to next episodes. White House actors are so mediocre though, intrigue is so ordinary unlike the previous seasons, hmmm, or is it just to early to tell?

Good job on Tom Lennox on turning in the would-be assassins. Sure he was advocating the suspension of certain civil liberties based on racial profiling, but he at least is decent enough to respect the chain of command.

I'm not liking the VP. His determination to see what he feels are "necessary measures" is unnervving.

Of course, Jack would have to get the Russian security agent who may actually believe the allegations against the Consulate. And of course, the agent gets killed right before he can talk to Buchanan. :yep:

I wonder if this is the last we'll see of Logan this season?

Gonna be interesting to see what happens when Karen returns to the bunker and has to deal with the VP.

Which attempt? The one in the bunker? I dunno about that. The impression that I got from Lennox's assistant (can't remember his name ATM) is that the organization behind the assassination has similar views as the VP, but the VP himself was not aware of their exisitence.

Anyway, as I previously said in another post, HOLY SHIT MARTHA'S GONE LOCO!

True, in any case it'll be interesting to see how they play this arc out.  I mean, if the VP really was not in on the assassination attempt, how will he react when/if he finds out who really  planned it?

Man, that VP...talk about having a one-track mind. He just keeps twisting the events so that they fit his personal interpretation of how things are/should be. (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c340/J-F-C/nono.gif)  I mean, it even seems that Lennox is uncomfortable with how far the VP's willing to go.
Title: The Official 24 Day 6 thread
Post by: Asmodai on March 20, 2007, 04:32:08 AM
Yeah. The VP is a madman. Why he wants to nuke a (mostly) empty patch of desert is beyond me.

So, who do you think this seasons' CTU traitor will be?

My personal theory: Morris put it in because, while he was captured, they threatened to hurt Chloe if he didn't. It would explain why he was so distraught too.

Title: Re: The Official 24 Day 6 thread
Post by: JFC on April 03, 2007, 01:56:01 AM
- "The end justifies the means" : the mantra of probably most, if not every single tyrant the world has seen.

- That's a smart move that Lennox did. Underhanded? Maybe. But definitely a smart move (to protect oneself) when there's THAT much political, possibly volatile tension in the air. While he may not have seen eye-to-eye with Palmer's decisions, it's nice to know that he's a patriot who'll do what's right for the nation, and that he will do things the right way, with no subversions.

- Holy fuck Gredenko is HARDCORE! :o Okay, he turned out to be a self-serving coward, but still...that was pretty damn hardcore.

- That was one of the few times I was happy to see a bar mob beating someone up. :)

- Now it looks like the VP might end up winning after all, seeing as how those adrenalin shots now seem to be affecting his judgement.
Title: Re: The Official 24 Day 6 thread
Post by: Asmodai on April 06, 2007, 06:02:41 PM
Is it the adrenalin, or the blood leaking into his brain?

The last ep seemed kinda dull for the most part - some good scenes, but it really didn't pace all that well. Hopefully they can turn it around on Monday.
Title: Re: The Official 24 Day 6 thread
Post by: JFC on April 06, 2007, 10:46:30 PM
Could be a bit of both I guess. The adrenalin is raising his blood pressure, which, in his cranium, is already pretty high (it was why he had to be put in the coma to begin with). Add that to possible cranial bleeding, and who knows how it could affect him.

I'm still not diggin' this season at all.

They get the nukes, and 20secs later get a phone call from Cheng about Audrey..Talk about nice timing..

But we still don't know for sure if Logan died on the way to the hospital, and what the hell has happened with Jack's dad??

(I'm sure he'll poke his head up soon.)
Title: Re: The Official 24 Day 6 thread
Post by: JFC on April 11, 2007, 05:17:57 PM
Prez took advantage of the VP's plan to launch the nuke, pretty slick move. Guess he's finally realizing that there ARE times when you really need to play big-time hardball. Question now is, will he survive the rest of the season?   :o

Finding the final two nukes and getting Fayed was rather anti-climactic. I half expected them to open the other suitcase (since one was open and the other was closed), and realize that it was empty. But no...no such luck *sigh*.

Agreed with Guchi that some closure on Jack's dad, Logan, and now Gredenko would be nice. :-\

Of course, can't leave the series hangin' like this, so in walk the Chinese, with Audrey. They obviously must have been monitoring Jack's movements since they agreed to relinquish custody of him at the start of this season (to ensure that he had been killed like they were told he was supposed to be).

Shit, hell of a time for Wayne to go down. (it's not unexpected, of course, but...still).

Have I mentioned how much I dislike the VP? 'Cuz I do. (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c340/J-F-C/nono.gif)  That guy is just too rigid and unwilling to listen to others who don't think exactly the same way he does.  A leader knows that it's good to be flexible, because not everything will go EXACTLY the way you originally intend it to.  This "my way or the highway" attitude of his is going to lead to nothing but trouble.

Now it's Jack vs the government again, let's see how he makes it out this time. And I'm glad to see Audrey still alive, I though for sure she was dead since she's on another show on CBS I believe and yes like Guchi said, Jack's dad WILL show up sometime soon I'm sure..........

Anyways, the sudden return of Jack's father, as well as the sudden appearance of those guys from Division (who can seriously impede thier efforts to retrieve the circuitboard)...seems like too much of a coincidence I think.

Well, VP took a gamble...and it didn't pay off. But now he's actually considering giving up Josh to get the circuit board back??? WTF?!?

Damn, I miss the old days of watching this show, sitting on the edge of the seat, then have that yellow digital clock tick over to the hour, and be like "FUCK!!!!!!!!!".. Just dying to see the next episode..

Nowadays, it's like "I"m bored, might as well watch 24 since nothing else is on".

Actually, hired(and copied)the first 5 seasons worth of DVDs, so my wife could watch them with Japanese Subs, but don't think I'll bother with Day 6... (I'm not that mean to my wife..)

We sat and watched seasons 1~4 in a month, which was around 3 episodes a day, and she was really into it. Had to wait awhile for season 5 to come out here, and we both thought it was pretty weak season. (this one is A LOT worse!!!!)

Coming to think of it, don't think they showed season 5 on TV here like they did for 1~4...
(hate watching western stuff on TV here, because they never use subs for tv shows, and always use bilingual, so you can choose English or Japanese dub)

A nerve gas attack last season and a gang of kidnappers this season. Man, breaking into CTU has become almost as easy as getting into a H!P girl's womb.

And my gut is telling me Jack is going to turn out to be Josh's biological father bcuz that family ain't fucked up enough as is.

Title: Re: The Official 24 Day 6 thread
Post by: Asmodai on May 17, 2007, 03:48:25 PM
CTU gets blown up / infiltrated every season. Even in the first there were multiple murders.

CTU needs (1) locks on their doors, (2) competent security and (3) to be located some place away from L.A. I'll stick with my earlier suggestion of Nebraska.

And of course Jack is the kid's biological father, he's Jack Bauer, his sperm is manly enough to work retroactively.

The finale was... mediocre.

Chloe is pregnant. I wish I was the Daddy. :(

Jack is all emo again 'cause his girlfriend's dad told him off.

They never did resolve what happened to Palmer, or the President before him who got stabbed.

It was a little weird that the Russian President said he hoped Palmer was feeling better, but didn't say anything about THE NUKE THAT WENT OFF IN LA THAT MORNING. It's like everyone on the show forgot the first half of the season even occurred. I bet the fans wish they could too. :P

FUCKIN' HATED THIS SEASON!!!!

The story was weak, things weren't completed and left you in the dark (probably because the writers didn't know where they were going with it)..

Wouldn't be surprised if Wayne Palmer suggested the relapse just to get off the show.. Then Milo thought "Damn, Wayne was smart!"... "Hey Mr.Writer, can I get shot in the head?" Fuck knows, I wish I was after watching this...

Well, this season has made one thing quite clear for me...Sleeper Cell (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=7254.0) is a MUCH better show!!

Can't say I hated this season but it definitely wasn't one of their better ones. I still enjoyed it though. The ending was a little blah and leaves you hanging but somehow although it didn't bring closure to much I still thinks its refreshing as opposed to Jack being kidnapped or the vice president getting poisoned or something crazy happening at the end as with most the previous season finales.
Title: Re: The Official 24 Day 6 thread

Like Asmo said, the ending was...mediocre. Too many plotholes were left open IMO. I cheered when they revealed Chloe was pregnant (I mean c'mon, after the dizzy spells she had how could you NOT see it coming), but it just seems like they tacked it on at the end to have some type of happy-type element to the ending.

Daniels realizes that there's a difference between being an armchair QB, and actually BEING the QB. Good thing I say, gives him a little humility.

Jack's tantrum against Heller caught me by surprise, to be honest. Again, it just seemed like something that they tacked on at the end.

And talk about an ambiguous final scene...it's like, was Jack gonna jump? Was he gonna go back to CTU or just disappear? WTF?  If he does disappear again, will next season be "Mike Doyle's" story?

^ If I remember correctly the contract is for another season anyway, and this might be the 'cliff hanger' to it, otherwise why end it this way??

And there might have been time for his father to jump down? (the sub could have been there in time still) plus he was only shot in the shoulder.

What a disappointing season. It started off promisingly, but you could tell the writers were making it up as they went along. The Milo/Nadia love story was tedious and pointless, plotlines were left hanging open (what did happen to ex-President Logan? Or Wayne's sister? Or her bf that got put in that jail? Or worse yet, what about the actual President of the US?), Jack was shown as a parody of himself sometimes but the worst of all has to be Doyle. I really did not like him, in fact, I cheered when the bomb went off and blinded him. Hopefully that will be him out of it. The season also contained the worst episode and also the most bizarre, when Jack had to help and depend upon the special needs guy. So out of place. The finale wasn't the best either (I don't think anything will top the Season 1 finale). I will have to depend upon the writers when they say next season will have a different scenario and actually be finished before they start filming. I just don't want to see Jack vs Terrorists with several WMD's yet again.

[bgcolor=#090909]Bringing characters back from the dead has happened before too, so that's not totally new.

CTU being broken up? Meh. I don't have an attachment to the organization, and I'm sure things will be about the same by mid-season.

I'm not a fan of bringing back supposedly 'dead' characters back so late after it happened. Just feel cheated in some way, and it feels cheap. And I do hope the trial doesn't last long. Sure in 24 time they could say it only took up 4 hrs of the day or so, but that's 4 weeks in real time. I dunno, need more info on the main story arc before I pass judgement

First episode: Jack is driven to the court house. He chats with his attorneys a bit. They send a paralegal out to get them all coffee.

Cut to the prosecutors doing the same and rehearsing.

At the end of the episode they enter the court house.

Second episode: The defense asks for bail. The prosecution objects. The defense raises the point that anywhere Jack goes, including the court house or the prison will inevitably be attacked by terrorists.

The judge agrees to allow bail, and also, surprisingly, to move the proceedings to North Dakota.

I'm still undecided about it. We were promised some huge shake ups in writing, but the trailer seems to give more of the same i.e. Jack goes against an enemy he once knew who holds some secret weapon to cause mass destruction. Don't get me wrong I'll still watch it, the action looks great, but I'll go in with low expectations this time round. I mean, bringing a character back from the dead just screams out of lazy writing. I'd much rather prefer a small-scale threat. Season 1 is regarded as one of the best, as it shows you don't need a 'WMD of the day' to create drama and suspense.

I remember something about season 1 where they had also only the first half of the show ready and changed some things for the second part based on 'feedback'?

I think they did it with most of the seasons: if people find out to early what they are working to, they change the writing to 'add' something.

Surprised nobody's commented on Day 7 yet, so I guess I'll start! Spoilers below:

What a great opening! :w00t: I was quick to groan when I heard Tony was brought back from the dead but I'm actually glad to see it last night, looks really sinister, although I still think he's undercover somehow. Was good that not only was he introduced at the very beginning rather than dragging it out, but Jack asked the same questions the fans would have as well, so at least the possibility of him as an undercover agent has been brought up already. Also good, Jack's run-jump-roll-tackle on Tony, Jack giving a shifty look at the FBI female agent after saying 'DAMMIT!' like he's thinking "That's my line!" XD, a plot that isn't a 'which terrorist group has the biggest WMD this time' and the new clean blue sepia that covers the screen rather than the orange, almost darkish one from past seasons. Obviously due to a change in location but it does make the series seem somewhat fresh. Looks good too.

Welcome back Jack. After a year and a half I can say it's good to see you again! But here's hoping the rest of the season goes as well. I remember Day 6 starting well but going downhill since.
