LUNA SEA announces reunion concert

Japanese rock legends Luna Sea announced plans today for a one-night reunion concert on Christmas Eve.

One of the most popular and influential Japanese rock bands of all time, Luna Sea's seven album, 11-year run ended in December of 2000 with THE FINAL ACT, a two-day final performance at Tokyo Dome.

Earlier this month their website was updated with a mysterious countdown which would reach zero today, coinciding with a lunar eclipse. There was fan speculation over a possible new album or reunion tour being announced when the countdown reached zero. This afternoon the website was updated with the announcement for a one-day reunion concert, entitled God Bless You ~One Night Déjàvu~, that will take place this Christmas Eve at Tokyo Dome.

No further details about the concert, or any plans for a full tour, have been released.

Cool I suppose, never could get into Luna Sea really but they are one of the big bands from a couple of years ago so it might be good to watch a coulpe of youtube clips afterwards.

They sold out Tokyo Dome in 5 minutes! That's 50,000 seats, plus another 20,00 (or so) standing on the floor. Fuck that shit up!

Anyways, I have heard of them, I just haven't heard their music. And only thing I knew about them was that Ishiguro Aya was married to and had two kids with one of the members (lead singer, right?)

I would honestly kill to go to this concert.  They are one of the greatest bands of all time (not just from Japan, but in general).  If you're not down with Luna Sea...then it's time to up your musical game, with all due respect.

LUNA SEA is the first taste of ROCK and Iiked it. Wasn't too fuckin Bowie - I caught their last 2 discs (late 2000) and missed their Hong Kong concert too

it's more likely that i'll have a automobile accident this month than going to the show; given the airplan tix to japan, scalper's price on any tix that's left from over-abundance of fangirls and ryuichi/sugizo  :inlove:groupies 

of course, i'll see the clips on 'tube and hopefully a rip from a tv broadcast afterward..

** btw, that's a cool interview, brad.  Great to see sugi supporting the website, looking cool as usual.  Wonder if he speak any German too...since he's suppose to have some German blood in his family, along with chinese and some other euro bloods..
