They got mix up  O-Sake with Geisha  , then  Japanese Tea ceremony with Tea Host.  This is unfortunate.

Fully-trained geishas are a dying breed and would charge up to £7,000 to fly across from Japan, so the tourist organisation is hoping there might be some local expert keen to put their skills into practice.

Years and years of 24hr training, just to work in a half assed tea house in another country...There's not a chance in hell that they could get an authentic Geisha if they wanted to.

Uh, so they expect Japanese people to fly 1/2 across the planet to have a Japanese tea experience in Cumbria?

Isn't that a little like Americans going to McDonald's in Italy?

Why not allow Japanese tourists to have an authentic English tea house experience? It's something they can't get in Japan, and if they're flying to England anyway, they're obviously interested in English culture and customs.

^^ Unlike Americans and McDonald's, not all Japanese people have been to a Japanese teahouse.. As for a traditional Japanese teahouse with Geishas and whatnot, not many go because it's not popular and it's very expensive. They just prefer to go to Starbucks..

I think serving green tea is fine, but trying to find a Geisha or a Geisha wannabe to pour it, is just stupid. And milk tea is popular here too...

Shit, Coke even sell it in a can.

Actually not all americans have been to McDonalds. Certainly a majority, but there's plenty of people who've never been there, or Taco Bell, or KFC or such. XD
