Jane Doe - A little preview UPDATE: ON HOLD"You're up in 5 minutes, Takamina." A staff member called out to the girl and she nodded as she made sure her make up as well hairpiece were in place.
Takahashi Minami, also known as Takamina, a rising singer in the industry who managed to climb to number 1 on the charts with her debut single, Jane Doe, that she had written and composed herself.
She stood up and patted down her red dress. It used to reach the floor but she disliked it after a few performances and had it altered to be just above the knee. Takamina quickly walked over to the curtains by the side of the stage, waiting for the hosts to announce her name.
Head peeking out, Takamina gave the crowd a quick scan, a slight smirk tugging at the corner of her lips as she spotted the glimmering jewelry against women's necks as the various studio lights reflected the gems. She scored a big fish tonight, with this prestigious music award show.
As she continued to wait she decided to pick, from memory, who she wanted to steal from.
That's right, steal. Takahashi Minami is a rather famous thief known as Doe. Though the nickname served mainly to unidentified corpses, the media nicknamed her that as she left without a trace along with jewels and money, the name being 'Doe' because nobody knew what gender nor how she looked like. So she adopted the new name, leaving the initial 'D' now as her signature whenever she stole.
Tonight would be no different. She was going to make off with a few of those rich women's precious jewels and then she would read and watch the news the next day of a rather angry police chief that would once again declare that he'll catch the 'low-life thief' once and for all.
Humming her song's tune, she tapped her foot and waited as the hosts continued to drone on and on. However, her humming immediately stopped as she heard a whisper right by her ear. Startled, she looked around with wide eyes, at the mass of people that were staff running around here and there making sure things were perfect. She tried to spot if any girls were leaving but she didn't catch anyone, she was only left with the lingering scent of lavender and roses that was not there before as her only evidence that she had not imagined the soft female voice.
Someone gently pushed her out from the curtains as her cue and Takamina immediately composed herself and plastered a smile on her face and walked out and bowed at the applause.
"Don't get too greedy now, Doe."---
A/N; I haven't written anything in a long time but I'm getting back into the writing mood, a little at least, so have this as I go to work out the rest of the plot and stuff. I also have another 1/4 done fic draft in the makings right now so yup.
Anyway, I hope you like what just spun out of my head from listening to Jane Doe non stop lately. Until I actually get the motivation to finish them, see you~
