On Tuesday, the 7th annual Kimono Award was presented at the Yokohama Arena. This year's winner was actress Aya Ueto (24), following in the footsteps of previous winners such as Reiko Takashima in 2008 and Rina Uchiyama in 2007. The presentation ceremony was held jointly with a fashion show, which was highlighted by a performance from singer Yu Hayami (43). She appeared on stage along with her two daughters, ages 8 and 6.

The new brand produced by aya is called U-girl. So, aya designed two T-shirts (one men and one ladys) to celebrate its 15th anniversary. And these T-shirts can be ordered from today to 15th January 2010, which are LIMITED ITEMS!

According to aya, the U printout on the T-shirt is came from her name, Ueto Aya's first alphabet. The reason why chose U for this brand name is because she thinks U is a name that not often be used as a brand name. And using U will not give a strong image that the T-shirt is from Ueto Aya, which people who bought this can wear it naturally. She also said that she will be happy if couples, families and friends bought and wear them walking around the street. (INFO FROM AKIYAMA SAN ^^)

Aya, with some other female celebs, has just won the 5th Women of the Year held by Vogue Japan. She's so gorgeous here. :smitten:

Actress Aya Ueto, 24, was the guest of honor this week at diamond jewelry brand Exelco’s “Exelco Diamond Award” ceremony. Wrapped in a revealing wine-colored red dress, Ueto got into the spirit of things with a diamond worth 23 million yen.

When asked about the rock that decorated her left ring finger, Ueto confessed, “I’d like to receive one for real while I’m still in my 20s. I just put this one on to see how it feels.”

Today actress/singer Ueto Aya (24) celebrated the release of her "Happy Magic" concert DVD in Shibuya and it became quite a touching event.

The DVD contains footage from her performances in Tokyo and Osaka back in August. "It was a year full of enjoyable moments, especially because I was able to do concerts again." She was proud and happy. Then Chan Kawai (29) from the Ueto-fanatic comedy duo "W-Engine" appeared on stage and gave her a thank-you letter on behalf of all of her fans. Ueto totally didn’t know about this and was really surprised. "I’m truly thankful to all of you, I really am." She said on the verge of tears.

The DVD has been out since the 16th, so go and get it if you want to see her live performances.
